A/N: Hello readers, long time no update. I know, I know. To be honest I did think about this story often and told myself I need/want to finish it. Life tends to get in the way sometimes as I have been going through a very dark time since the last update. That being said I had to take care of myself and do some things to get me back on the right path, it also didn't help as I had major writers block. I know where I want to take this story it is just the leading up to it. I have re-read chapters 1-3 and I feel once this story is complete I am going to take it down and re-write it. Anyways, it is good to be back. No promises for the next update but I am hoping sometime soon. Let's finally move on to the next chapter of this story.
Amy's POV:
"Chaos control!" This is the last thing I heard before my eyes rolled into the back of my head and my legs gave out from underneath me. It was a whisper, but a firm command. I felt as If I were floating or as if time were moving in slow motion. Maybe this was an outer body experience? I tried to move my fingers and toes, then my arms and legs, but I had no control over them. It was as if I were paralyzed and my thoughts were the only thing I was in control of right now. I couldn't open my eyes, or even make myself re-gain consciousness. I could only focus on my thoughts and the time-stopping, floating feeling I was currently consumed by. Then, it was as if whatever force had ahold of me, had read my mind and obeyed my silent command. Time had caught back up and I felt as if I were being hit by a powerful force. My feet had touched the ground and my eyes had their sight returned, the powerful force had me stumbling back, but I was caught by what felt to be two pairs of hands. Having something to lean on, I hunched over and grabbed my head, a headache starting immediately and the need to vomit sounding better with each throb. "Sorry we had to do that Amy, but we had no choice. The opportunity had arose and we needed to take action before mistakes for the future took place". I know that voice. I turn my head to my left and squint open my left eye to confirm its owner. "Silver? What happened? Where are we? Why do I feel like I was hit with my own hammer?" "Give us a few minutes of your time Amy and we will explain". Another voice to my right was heard. It was regal and collected, as if they were born with royalty. I only knew one person with a voice like that, and she indeed was born into royalty. In-fact she is the princess and guardian of the Sol Emeralds. Blaze had slowly moved her hand away from the bend in my back, letting me find my balance. "We need to talk, as this is very dire… and it is the only place we could speak without… interruptions" Blaze trailed off.
Finally getting my bearings I was able to stand up straight and have a look around. I was not prepared for what was in front of me. It was a beautiful view. There was a meadow with endless flowers that contained a variety of different kinds and colors. I had never seen a place contain the entire color scheme in one place. It was close to sunset, and the sun was kissing the horizon causing the sky to morph into different shades of oranges, pinks, red, purples and blues. The two large mountains hugged the meadow. Surrounding it. Hiding it from the rest of the world. Lastly, there was a beautiful lake that mirrored the colors and shapes around it, further in the distance I could see rippling. There looked to be a stream flowing and meeting the large lake. I followed the stream up and could see crashing waves and water in the distance coming off of one of the mountains. I assumed it was a waterfall, and the water rippling came from there originally and found it resting place in the lake. I could see fish swimming at the surface, in the stillness, and I could see other fish trying to find their way back up stream. I tried to listen, wanting to get lost in my surroundings. I would of if it weren't for me to suddenly hear my name being called. "…Amy… Amy?... AMY!" I jumped from being startled and came back to the situation at hand, my previous anger from the R.E.C.C returning. "Ok, you both have some serious explaining to do before I pull out my hammer and tell everyone you kidnapped me!" I crossed my arms over my chest and tapping my foot, my patience was already non-existent, I had two hedgehogs I was furious with. 'These hedgehogs are gonna be the end of me' I internally roll my eyes. "Amy, we first would like to start by saying were sorry for how we had treated you at Rouges club". Silver took a step toward me with his hand on his heart. He did look sincere but I don't understand why they needed to bring me…here... just to apologize. "Is that the whole reason why you guys brought me here?" Silver briefly chuckles "No Amy, we brought you here to warn you" "Warn me? About what?" I have no idea what they would have to warn me about. 'If this has any thing to do with more Sonic drama, I am going to lose my shit! I don't want to know about what that lying, promise-breaking, one-night stand bastard is doing. If it is a warning not to have sex with him, then they're to late'. "It's about you and Sonic". Blaze steps in, she seemed slightly on guard… as if she knew something was wrong between the two of us. I take a deep breath, trying to calm the anger and irritation rising within me. "Look… I know you guys know me for having a big thing for Sonic, but I can assure you that that ship has sailed. It's been a long time since I threw myself at him like a fangirl, I've grown past that stage. So please save your advice for someone else". I put my hand on my hip and drew my attention to my other hand, looking at my nails to keep me from focusing on the heartbreak I was still dealing with. That blue hedgehog had really crossed the line this time. "Look Amy, we're not here to do any of that. We want to warn you that there is a dangerous future among us. Silver and I were beaconed to investigate". After being lied to and taken for granted I don't believe the things people say to me anymore. "Psh, O-kay and what did this future supposedly show you?" My eyebrow raises as I am curious what craziness is going to come out of their mouths. Silver had spoken before Blaze could, "This is not a joke Amy, we are being serious. We weren't shown all the details, we were only warned to find the hero of mobius and a warrior who wields a hammer in battle".
"We were also told to be warned about a powerful being who can wield powerful abilities. This being's choices could bring fear, destruction and new order upon Mobius." Blaze moves Silver out from in front of her and comes to place her hands on my shoulders. She takes a minute to search my eyes. "Amy, I don't know what is going on with you the past few days or weeks but what we do know is that we were told to warn you, find you and guide you. We were only able to speak with Sonic for a few minutes and couldn't share all the details with him, he only knows that danger is on the way and that you and him have some sort of part in stopping it. That is why he came to the R.E.C.C. His timing is never the best… but when he arrived, that is when he saw you and Shadow… the reasoning he was also trying to get you to come with him. We seen your hesitation, and we are unsure whose or what choices will cause this future. So, until then… we will be needing you two to check in with us." Blaze continued looking at me, expecting me to say something in reply to all the information she just gave me. I let it process in my head for a moment before I let out a loud laugh. Laughing wasn't the reply I thought I would give, but it came out before my brain even knew what was happening. "Uhh, Amy? Why are you laughing?" Silver looked at Blaze and then back at me, clearly confused of my actions. "Hahahah! Ohhhh that's a good one. That's real rich. Ahh, let me catch my breath". I take a second to cough out the rest of my laughs, catching a glimpse of Silver and Blaze shrugging at each-other. "Of course, this is the universes way of rubbing salt in my wound… heh, so you're telling me I have to work with Sonic, for chaos knows how long? Just so we can figure out how to stop this dangerous event from happening? Is that what you're telling me?". I stare at both of them, in slight disbelief. "Uhh, yeah? It shouldn't be a problem, right? Considering you are a part of team Sonic". Blaze's face was evident she was becoming annoyed. "Yes, that is true I am a part of team Sonic…". Saying his name felt like I threw my heart in a pit and then set it on fire. "But I also should have a say in who I work with, and I am deciding to work with anyone else but him". The look on their faces were of confusion and slight judgement, as if saying I wanted to put myself first was a sin. "You are going to put your personal wants first before helping save your planet?! What has gotten into you?! Why are you acting so different lately? What happened to the Amy that loved everything the world had to offer and was willing to sacrifice her own life, as long as it meant the world was at peace?" Blaze was beginning to raise her voice, aggravation evident in her tone. "Why do I always have to sacrifice my happiness at the expense of others? Huh!? Why must I always have to be the one that's miserable? What about me and my happiness? I don't see anyone trying to sacrifice anything for me". Oh no, I had said enough. I could feel the tears starting to brew and were threatening to drop down my cheeks. I turned my body away, clenching my fists at my sides. This conversation was over. They did what they were beaconed to do, now they can move on and let whatever is meant to happen, happen. Maybe It is time for me to do what makes me happy.
It was then that I decided it was time to break free, to do what I wanted to do, to be who I wanted to be, to feel and achieve the things I so badly craved for.
"Amy, we've always been here for you. We're not saying to sacrificing your happiness. We're advising you to work with one of your closest friends. Someone we all know you love. Someone we all know that loves you as well, just love to them is different than yours.". The last part of that sentence made my eye twitch, she just had to add in that little kick to the heart. I turned back around, they were holding onto one another. Ones hand on their arm and the others' arm around her waist. They stood staring at me, hoping for me to change my mind and agree to do what they wanted me to do. I stood my ground. "This conversation is over. Maybe whatever warned you is wrong… Maybe whatever is coming our way is meant to happen. But whatever it is… I refuse to be a part of it. Now please, leave me alone." I began to walk away, Only, after a few steps I had bumped into something. Confused, I tried to move forward again. I put my hands in front of me and reached out, there was a structure blocking my path. "What the fu-?". "It's a mirror dimension…of sorts". Silver walks up behind me and waves his hand, revealing the outline of the invisible wall. Its effects now being seen, I could tell it was a mirror. The scenery I had described earlier being copied in every direction I turned. Now I was pissed. "Let me out".
Sonic's POV:
Shadow had chaos controlled from the scene after Amy's disappearance. I still had a score to settle with him, but I will have to push that to the side for now. Right now, I'm worried about Amy. Everything happened in a blink of an eye, but luckily for me I'm the fasted thing alive. I witnessed Silver use his chronokinesis to stop time for a brief second, before poking his finger into Amy's side to allow access into her mind. Hence how she lost consciousness. I guess I should point out that over the last few years, Silver had learned more abilities that branched off from his telekinesis. He is now an omni-kinetic. His mind has the power to manipulate anything and everything. There are of course, rules to having these powers. Being someone who not only has the ability to learn these powers, but can actually master them, you have to take an oath. Silver had told me it was something along the lines of making an oath to never use the abilities for your own personal gain. He can't go around controlling everyone's minds to do what he would like them to do or to think/feel what he would like them to do, unless whomever gave verbal consent to allowing that. Now, you're probably thinking "Sonic, you could have Silver just use his powers to change the future just by bending everyone's thoughts and actions or using time manipulation in general." Then I would say, "Say, that wasn't a bad idea". Except, since Silver is the protector of the future and he is able to see what is to come, he is unable to step in himself. He has to let things happen they way they were to happen as if he had no power. To make things simple, you don't mess with time and you don't mess with people's free-will. In this case, Silver was able to control Amy's mind and body because she, and I, have something with saving everyone from these future events. I know that Silver and Blaze took her somewhere, I am just unsure where. I look up from the spot where Amy was just standing moments ago. There were chairs, pieces of dining tables, glass and stone from the wall, scattered around the club. The dust clouds had settled and I could see the only remaining people standing about the building. Cream was standing a few feet away, Tails had his tails in front of her and his face to shield the both of them from any flying debris from Shadow and I's fight. Knuckles was still sitting at our usual booth drink still in hand and arm resting along the back of the backrest, smirk on his face. 'Wonder what he finds humorous…?' My question was answered when I looked toward the stairs where Rouge was standing hands in fists and veins popping out of her head. "Rou-". Before I could finish her name and explain myself I found myself being kicked across the room by her famous black boots. 'That's twice now you were too slow, get a grip Blue'. "HOW DARE YOU COME INTO MY CLUB AND DESTROY THE PLACE! IF YOU THINK YOU CAN EASILY GET OUT OF THIS, YOUR KIDDING YOURSELF!" My vision was seeing double, as I sat up from laying out on the floor, and grabbed my head. "…YOU'LL BE FINDING MY FIST UP YOUR ASS…" I had heard footsteps to my left and seen a Knuckles' namesakes outstretched, offering to help me up. I accepted the offer and he helped stand me up. "Hahaha, that was quite the show. I wish I would've gotten that on camera!" Knuckles pats my back a few times as he is bent over laughing his ass off at the fact that Rouge just kicked my ass. "Glad someone found it amusing…" Knuckles followed my eyes to the crazed bat girl who was still cussing me out and threatening me from the side lines. Cream and Tails had rushed over to her and guided her outside to give her a few minutes to cool off. I look back to the spot where Amy stood. Replaying what I had witnessed, in my mind. I had just run away from Silver and Blaze mid-conversation after only just hearing them mention Amy and I and something about danger on the way. I didn't have time, nor the patience, to stay and ask questions or get details from the couple. Hearing the words; Amy, Sonic, and danger in one sentence was enough for my feet to kick it into high gear and go find her. My only thought being, did someone see Amy and I together? Had she told anyone and where enemies after her now to get to me? 'What have I done!? This is why I always run away. Love isn't something I am able to have. I have duties, enemies, responsibilities…' Knuckles must have seen my concerns as I must have been making some weird looking facial expressions. "Go, I'll try to distract Rouge as long as possible so you can figure things out". "Huh?" I was snapped out of my torment thoughts. "I said go Sonic, I'll try to speak with Rouge and keep her from killing you in your sleep until you can figure out a way to make this up to Rouge". "Thanks Pal, I owe you!". I sped off into the night, before skidding to a halt and racing back to where I left Knuckles. He had only lifted his foot to head over to Rouge by time I had left and came back. "By the way, me being concerned for her, doesn't mean I feel feeling more than friends for her". I got into his face and pointed my finger into his chest, poking it once I finished my sentence. Racing back toward wherever my feet were taking me.
Normal POV:
"Oh Sonic, trying so hard to cover your tracks so your friends don't know. When in reality, I don't even think you know…Sigh…". 'Until you can admit you need her, you're secret is safe with me'. Knuckles turns around, shaking his head, and heads to find Rouge.
A/N: aaaannd that's a wrap for chapter 4! Thanks to all who read this up to this point! I hope you enjoyed chapter 4 as much as I did. Hope to post again very soon!
Also, I realized I never related a song to this story! I think I am beginning to take this story in another direction and maybe won't use music. (If I can keep the writing juices flowing). Guess I'll name this chapter- 'Back In Business' in honor of making a new chapter after being away for so long.
