Chapter 8

Note: So its time i start bonding Hart with the other rangers more! I also want to keep the whole green candle spinoff a little longer!

BANG!

Both girls shot up from the couch. "What the!?". Kira yelled. Hartley shot up sending an icicle torwards the wall.

"Sorry girls i dropped a pan in the floor". Tommy stated closing the cabinet door. "Nice look Hart:". He laughed noticing her hair was stuck off in every direction. He ducked as she fired another icicle towards his head. "Truce!".

"Tommy why are you awake at". Hart looked at the clock. "At 9 in the morning, on a Saturday?".

"I am meeting Carter at your former cabin to see if we can salvage anything since you guys are going to Mariner Bay for the night". He told her as the smell of bluberries filled the room.

"Wow Dr.O didn't know you could cook". Kira said walking over to the island in the kitchen.

"Hart tells me i make the best blueberry pancakes". He replied.

"Its true and wait until you try the hot chocolate Ryan makes". Hart said with a grin. "Where is old man titanium?"

"Gone for a run". Tommy answered giving her a plate. Hart reached for it but it was grabbed.

"Thank you!". She turned and glared at her brother.

"Excuse me your chunky enough those were mine". She told him. "Okay fine, when we go to the cafe tonight i will not bring you back your favorite cheesecake like i normally would".

"I am not invited?" He asked feigning heartbreak.

"No!" Both girls yelled with a laugh. He pouted. Both girls left the room to get changed.

When they emerged they each had a bag. Tommy and Ryan were chatting away. "Sorry to break up the chit chat but can we go please?" Hart asked walking up to them.

"I don't remember you asking for a ride" Ryan said raising an eyebrow.

"Ryan Mitchell if you don't get your keys to that truck of yours i will destroy those new tires you just bought for it and freeze the paint so it chips off". Hart told him grabbing him by his ear.

"Ow! fine!". He spoke rubbing his ear. Tommy laughed as the three of them left.

Mariner Bay...

Once they pulled up to Ryan's house the girls ran in. "Wow this place looks cool". Kira spoke.

"Its not built for short people!" Hart yelled loud enough for her brother to hear. Hart led her down the hall to her room. "Uh Kira there are two beds in my room".

"Yeah i kind of did that, i kind of figured you girls would have sleepovers so i brought the bed from the spare room to here". He told them from the doorway.

"So you live with him?" Kira asked laying her bag on her bed.

"Yeah since i was a teenager, since my Dad and Dana work alot of nights they didn't want me left alone so Ryan let me move in here". Hartley answered her.

"Wow i never ever saw siblings so close before". Hartley smiled at Kira.

"It wasn't always like that, but once the demons were gone we found out what family means. Kira the other lightpseed rangers are my family to,they are not blood but they are also my brothers and sisters". She explained. 'We all went out seperate ways though. But Carter stayed to work with my Dad. Ryan coaches and Dana is a full tme doctor".

Kira and Hart walked to the door to leave. "Hart before you go to the cafe can you drop by the aquarium, Chad texted and needs to show you something".

"Sure, bye!" The girls ran out of the house. Ryan sighed.

The girls arrived at the aquarium. Kira smiled widely. "Chad?". Hart called going to the office.

"Hey girls" He greeted looking up from his desk.

"You wanted to see me?" Hart questioned. Chad smiled.

"You know how Brett from the firehouse reopened the cafe well he found this in the basement, the basement didn't burn so he thought you would want it back". Chad handed her the object.

Kira watched as she teared up. They had found a stuff whale animal with her initials sewed on it. "Thanks Chad, but why does it look new?".

"I got in touch with Kelsey and her grandmother was able to find the black material to make it new". He told her with a smile. "You girls have fun".

The girls waved and left. They got to the cafe. "Hart you okay?". Kira asked noticing Hart stopped abruptly. Both girls sat on the fountain. "Is this where is happened?"

Hart nodded. "Yeah i haven't been here in a awhile, it did re-open by the owner's son Brett, when it reopened i went there all the time but it hasn't been the same".

"I'm sorry for what happened". Kira told her touching her shoulder.

"Thanks it was one of the worst and best days of my life was the worst because i lost friends but it was the best day because it was the day Ryan came back". Hartley spoke remembering.

"What about your friend Cam?" Hart looked at Kira.

"She moved shortly after i came back from Blue Bay Harbour". Hartley answered.

"So what's with the bear?" Kira laughed out.

"Oh this, when i starting getting into sports we were on a small basketball team called the Mariner Bay Whales, so Cam decided to get us all plush toys since it was our mascot at the time. We came to the cafe one day and we played hide and seek in the basement. We got caught. Me and Cam decided to use it as a hangout so we made a shrine with our gear and toys". Hart answered with a smile.

After they got a smoothie they headed back to Ryan's.

"Oh sis you are the best". He cheered as she handed him a slice of his favorite Caramel Toffee Cheesecake.

"I know". She told him as her and Kira walked down the hall. Hart pulled a box from her bag and handed it to Kira.

"What's this?"

"Open it".

Kira slowly open it and found a silver ring inside. "Hart.."

"I uhm made one for everyone while i was away I don't control fire like i do ice but i can melt down metal. Its just a token of what you all mean to me". Hart told her with a small smile. "I also took small shards of the broken dino gems and moulded them into it".

Kira looked at the ring with the small yellow stone in the middle. "Thank you Hart".

"Girls!".

"Yes brother dear?"

"I have to run an errand do you want snacks for tonght?" Ryan yelled from the basement.

"Well duh who do you take me for?" Hart joked rolling her eyes as he emerged.

"Kira anything in particular?"

"Sure i could do for a slice of that cheesecake Hart brought you". She answered Ryan.

"Then Ryan after you drop off snacks how about you stay at Dana's for the night and leave us alone?" Hart offered twirling in the chair.

"I don't think so". Ryan stated. "Be back soon".

The girls walked down the hall and before they knew it the room lit up white, when it cleared all that remained was Hartley's hat she was wearing.

About an hour later Ryan came back. He walked in through the door. "Girls?".The skiy was dark and the lights in the house were off.

"Kira? Hartley?". He walked down the hall. He looked down when he noticed the white hat. "Girls?"

Ryan rushed to Hart's room. "Hartley? Kira? where are you?".

With The Girls..

Kira groaned as she woke up. She sat up and it looked like she was in a cell. "Hart?".

"Kira". Kira looked over to see Hart sitting up.

"Where are we?"

"I don't know". Hart replied.

They jumped when Mesogog appeared. "Hello rangers good to see you again"

Hart went to attack but he kicked her back. "Nice try, in here you are powerless".

"Where are we freak?"

"My deepest apologizes, this is where you meet your end, you see you rangers thought that those duds of gems were gone. I beg to differ you see we managed to create these". He waved a hand and two candles emerged. "I managed to connect your gems to these cancles so now everytime your friends moprh they drain your life. You may have been lucky to destroy the blue and red ones but these two". Gesturing to the green and yellow ones. "Were able to be created".

"You won't get away with this Mesogog, they will find us!". Hart growled.

"They will have no choice but to give up their gems or lose you in the process". He laughed as he disappeared.

"Kira were are in big trouble". Hart told her.

Mariner Bay...

Ryan drove to Reefside as fast as he could. He told Tommy to meet him at Hayley's. He skidded to a halt.

"Hey Ryan are you okay?" Hayley asked as he ran in. "Hey what's wrong?"

"Are the girls here? do you know if they came back?"

"No, hey man just breathe, Ryan talk to me?". Tommy told him as he led Ryan to the couch. Hayley locked the doors as the other patrons left.

Hayley handed him a bottle of water. "Ryan talk to me?".

"Tommy i don't know where the girls are, one minute they were at my house. When i came back from running an errand it was like they vanished".

"Ryan are you sure they just didn't go to the beach or something?". Ryan looked at Hayley as she spoke.

"Hart would have told me if she was leaving the house and she always locks the door".

"Hart? Kira? are you there?" Tommy spoke into his morpher but got static. "Girls?". Tommy frowned. "Conner?"

"Yeah Dr.O what is it?"

"Do you or Ethan know if Kira and Hart came back from Mariner Bay?"

"Sorry Dr.O no, I am at practice and Ethan is home working on a game he is currently addicted to"

"Okay Thanks Conner if you see them let me know". Tommy spoke cutting off coms.

"Man where are they?" Ryan was almost in panic mode.

"Lets head back to the lab". Tommy offered as they headed back,

Hayley went for the monitors since they could see all street cameras in Reefside and Mariner Bay. "Well they are no where in Reefside".

Ryan told her his address. "Wait Hayley what's that?". Ryan pointed at the screen.

"I have no idea". Hayley answered as they noticed a whlte flash in Ryan's house.

"Carter and Dana haven't seen them either". Tommy told them hanging up his phone. "Look we'll find them"

"I have an idea, you said that you can connect with Hartley since Daku gave you his energy, we should try it". Tommy suggested.

"I don't know how it works, i'm not a ninja like her". Ryan told them. Meera growled as she came down the steps. The tiger walked over and sat in front of him.

"Ryan you have to try, if you have a connection to Hartley now it means you have one with Meera let her guide you". Hayley spoke softly to him.

Ryan sighed as he sat in front ot the tiger. Meera put her huge paw on his leg. Ryan closed his eyes and tried to concentrate. Meera's eyes glowed white.

FLASH

Hartley and Kira in his house

"Gah!" Ryan cried as he fell back.

"Hey what did you see?"

"They were at the house then they just vansished". He answered Tommy. "I have to try again".

Ryan gripped the tiger's head this time. "Come on Hart show me where you are".

FLASH

Hartley and Kira waking up in a cell face to face with Mesogog. He was showing them something but it was blurry to Ryan.

"Ah!" Ryan fell onto his back.

"Ryan hey, i got ya". Tommy told him gripping his shoulders.

"Mesogog has them"

"Ryan where?"

"Hayley i don't know, i can't see it". Ryan answered her rubbing his head. "Thank's girl". He patted Meera's head. "They seem to be alright but i don't know why he has them".

Ryan got to his feet. They looked up when Carter ran in.

"Any news?"

"Sort of, we know Mesogog has the girls but we don't know why". Tommy answered him. "And we don't know where".

"Ryan does Hart know you possess the powers Daku gave you, that you have this connection?". Hayley asked walking up to him.

"No, i never got the chance to tell her why?"

"If she did you could get into her mind to communicate but since she doesn't, she can't open her ninja link with you". Hayley answered sadly.

"Ninja link?" Carter wondered.

"Remember when she said she needs permission from the person to share her powers with, its the same with a ninja link. Daku blessed her and with most of his powers, She needs Ryan to actually give her permission to connect with her without it Ryan would hit a brick wall". Hayley explained.

"But i am her brother, her blood".

"It would go against her code of honor to Daku and to herself". Tommy told him."Hayley do you know if Hunter has the same link?". Tommy asked.

"I don't kow i will get in cintact with him".

Ryan needed to get some air. Carter followed him. Carter walked over and sat on the steps next to him. "Hey, you know we'll find them".

Ryan twirled his silver ring. "I know, i just wish i knew where and why, Hayley says they aren't in Reefside or Mariner Bay."

"You know like we all do the girls are tough they won't go down easy".

Ryan looked at looked up when Tommy appeared. "Hunter is on his way".

"Tommy your a ninjetti are you and Hart the same?" Ryan asked.

"Kind of, i have a spirit aninmal like she has in Meera but we are different, i can't control elements like she can, i also don't have link of any kind with her either".

They watched as Conner and Ethan pulled up. "Dr.O Whats the emergency?"

"Conner Mesogog has Kira and Hart, we don't know where and why". Tommy answered.

Conner almost fell over when Hunter streaked to them. "Sorry Conner".

"Its okay man".

Hunter looked at the distraught team in front of him. "Hayley called so i came as soon as i could what can i do to help?".

Everyone went down to the lab.

Note: this scenerio with the candles is alot of fun!
