Around Sixty-five million years ago, a precursor alien civilization was building a megastructure over Earth. An asteroid collides with a huge part of said megastructure, breaking it off, and both of them are sent crashing to the Yucatán Peninsula on Earth. Realizing that they had inadvertently set off a mass extinction event, the precursor aliens sent ships to Earth to rescue as many dinosaurs as they could. Due to the presence of dinosaur bones in museums in the modern era, not all of them were saved. The ones that got rescued were taken off-world and have been genetically modified so that they would survive and thrive on the planets where they will be relocated to.

The first species to be relocated are the allosauruses. The precursor aliens have taken them to Kandra. Alongside the allosauruses are the argentosauruses, oviraptors, deinosuchuses, iguanodons, archelons, daspletosauruses, baryonyxes, and the pteranodons were all taken to Kandra. The precursors have genetically modified them so they would all be able to survive the cascadian world's environment. The planet itself also has enough megafauna to sustain the planet's carnivorous newcomers. For the allosauruses, the precursor aliens have modified them to the point where they would eventually develop human level sapience.

It took some time for them all to adapt to Kandra once they were released. Thanks to the modifications that the precursor aliens gave them, they thrived. Over the course of millions of years, they evolved. The allosauruses gained human level sapience and became the Takzus. As the Takzus began forming the first hunter-gatherer societies they began putting Kandra's native wildlife and the species that came with their ancestors to great use. The archelons and oviraptors have not changed much, and the Takzus have domesticated and utilized them in a similar manner to chickens and turkeys. The argentosauruses became the argens, they became mounts and transportation to the Takzus the same way humans have used horses. The daspletosauruses became the maned dasplets. Unlike their ancestors, the maned dasplets have developed a feathery lion-esque mane that starts on the top of their heads all the way down to their backs and chest, their arms and claws have also gotten big enough where they can grab and claw at their prey. The maned dasplets are used as battle beasts by the Takzus. The baryonyxes have not changed much, and like the maned dasplets, they are used as battle beasts. The pterandons also have not changed much and were not domesticated by the Takzus.

The interaction with the precursor aliens that took their ancestors from Earth millions of years ago would not be the last time that they would interact with an alien civilization. Four thousand years ago when they were in their version of the renaissance age, the Takzus would encounter a species called the Thwaa'Phyr. Two factions of the Thwaa'Phyr were in conflict and locked in a stalemate with each other. One faction was known as the "Relentless". In an attempt to gain an advantage, one side launched a false flag operation. Posing as their own opposition, they attacked the Takzus. A synaptic dampener bomb was dropped on Kandra, but it did not damage to the planet's ecology. However, it affected the Takzus' brains and reduced their civilization back to their version of the bronze age. Shocked at what they've done, the Thwaa'Phyr started setting up trials in the Marsavis system and even left behind some of their technology as well as a few boons in an attempt to seek redemption for the damage they have made.

Slowly, but surely, the Takzus began to recover. When they bounced back into the late renaissance age once again, they found some of the boons left by the Thwaa'Phyr. The Thwaa'Phyr have since then been referred to as "the Benefactors". The Takzus as they find more and more of the Thwaa'Phyr's technology they advance pretty quickly.

When the Takzus reached the end of the machine age, a global war had broken out on the planet. The global war which the Takzus have dubbed "the War of Tribulations". The war has since caused mass carnage that could rival both World Wars one and two combined. Chaos and fear gripped the planet. A teenaged prince named Dardanus Thaddathan, had lost his parents during the War of Tribulations. Dardanus had started going through a Thwaa'Phyr ruin in the wilderness, eighty-four miles away from Therosia (the city that will become Kandra's capital city) in an effort to find something that will help end the War of Tribulations. When Dardanus got deep enough into the ruins he was able to find a cache of weapons and technology as well as detailed instructions written in Therosian (A Takzu language) on how to use it.

Dardanus began to rally a group of rebels and he took them to the ruins where they all used the instructions on how to use the weapons and technology inside. Dardanus and the rebels using the newfound advanced weapons and technology managed to liberate Therosia and drive the invading forces out. They didn't stop there, one by one they attacked and took over the nation states responsible for inciting the War of Tribulations. The war ended at the Battle of Grolis. With the signing of the Therosia-Grolis Armistice, the remaining nation states were absorbed under Dardanus's banner. Shortly after the war ended, Dardanus was crowned king.

Even two centuries after the end of the War of Tribulations more and more of the Thwaa'Phyr's technologies and boons kept on getting discovered and the Takzus have reached a consensus that they will find answers about their mysterious benefactors if they look into spaceflight. King Asteri Thaddathan, the great grandson of Dardanus four times removed, spearheads the space exploration efforts. One notable experiment involved sending a ship filled with colonists to the cosmos to colonize another world. An exoplanet believed to have similar conditions to Kandra has been discovered to be several lightyears away. It took about a year for the colony ship to leave the borders of the Marsavis system. Six months after the colony ship left the system, the space program lost contact with the colony ship, and no one ever heard from it since.

Despite this setback and several more, the Takzus pressed on until the journey to spaceflight. Asteri has passed away leaving his son Laertes Thaddathan and grandson Pyrasixus Thaddathan to finish their civilization's journey to space flight through to completion. They managed to do just that. Sadly, as soon as the Starbase to Marsavis had been built, Laertes was diagnosed with a terminal illness forcing him to abdicate the throne, allowing Pyrasixus to become king. Laertes's final wish to his son was that he would guide the Interstellar Kingdom of Kandra to greatness and that he would find answers about the Benefactors. Pyrasixus promised that he will do whatever he can to fulfill that wish. The young king definitely has a lot on his plate but is determined to live up to the legacy of his father and grandfather to find answers about the Thwaa'Phyr. He received a good start as soon as a report came in that there were archaeological sites all over the system with one found on Kandra's moon. The Interstellar Kingdom of Kandra has its work cut out for it.

Author's Note: I have been a bit busy with Deviantart lately which is why I have not been posting on this site or AO3 as often. I have been playing around with the Animated Saurian Portraits mod and came up with the idea where what if some of the dinosaurs survived thanks to alien intervention and evolved into something else. I was also playing around with a few new trait mods. The two new trait mods featured in this chapter are Species Diversity and Xenology: Traits Expansion Unofficial - Biological Module.
