Crashin' a Muthafuckin' Wedding
(SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING! I had school testing and then got Pink-Eye so here's a small update while I readjust to not being sick for a week.)
(AU: Purple's a lead singer with one other in a band. Mango is a supportive father. Gay ensues after one of their concerts.
Song is from Helluva Boss, s2 ep3, 'Crashin' a Muthafuckin' Wedding'. One of my favorites. Lyrics found on google!)
(Also, just so you know, Sec is bass guitar, Blue is guitar, Red is drums, Yellow is background. Green and Purple are lead singers. And gay)
Purple was nervous.
Their finale, short yet impactful, is about to be played.
They stood backstage, preparing. Green had done most of it, them being back up mostly, but this…
This was theirs.
Green was going to just be the background voice with Yellow in this one.
Lowering their water bottle with shaky hands, they leaned backwards against the crates of supplies. They heard someone sit beside them, and looked over to see Green.
"Ya ready? 3 minutes." Green said, smiling his usual goofball grin.
"Almost." Purple mumbled.
Green pulled them into a hug, gentle and comforting.
"After this, we can head home, and just watch movies and cuddle, alright?" Green murmured into their hair, pressing a kiss into the purple, tangled mess, and another on Purple's forehead.
Purple nodded, prepared for after too, and then they were stepping onto the stage.
Taking their place, they watched the crowd start cheering, and saw Mango in the second row, Gold on his shoulders, yelling loudly while Gold screamed.
Listening to the guitar start was great. Second was focused, Green was, all of the Colour Gang was focused.
The lights dimmed.
They cued in with Green, before taking their place in the song.
"Oh~ I ain't a stranger to your thorns
Think I'm a damsel, now you get the horns
Lay low my dear, I'll get you outta here
I ain't a damsel, I'll make that clear~!"
Purple felt confidence grow. A supportive fanbase, their boyfriend, their adoptive dad and sibling, and their friend group all up there with them.
"Just try to stop the reckoning that's comin'
Lay down your head boy, can't hear you those beats a drummin'
Be as it may, by death do us part
Think fast cause momma's gonna tear out your heart~!"
Purple bounced on their feet, relying on their memory.
"Giddy up, little bitch boy, you're dead
Giddy up, little bitch boy, you're dead~
You tried to take him like you didn't know
He was mine, and taken, now reap what you sow!~"
They grinned as they belted it, facing the crowd. They listened to Second play, telling themself to grab their friend food later.
"You tried to take him, like you didn't know,
He was mine, and taken, now reap what you sow~"
They slammed their foot down on the last note, and as the crowd cheered, dropped the mic, and grinned.
Picking it back up, they started the closing speech.
"Remember! You can find us on Sticksagram, Stickbook, so many others! Send us some support if ya want!"
They waved, and conveniently, Green and Purple were the last two on stage.
"Okay, get your phones out." Phones were whipped out of pockets and bags. "So, our fanbase has been speculating, 'Are Green and Purple dating or something?'." Purple grinned as the crowd watched, Mango flashing a thumbs-up. People were recording this by now.
"And to that, I say yes." Green said into the mic, standing beside Purple, before picking them up and kissing them in front of most of their fanbase, causing yells and cheers and screams from the crowd. Purple dropped the mic, and allowed themself to be picked up and carried off stage, waving to the crowd.
Backstage, the rest of the crew were laughing loudly.
"Think of how much fanfiction that's gonna spawn." Second told the duo as they entered.
"There's so much already, I wouldn't be shocked." Green said, still carrying Purple bridal style.
Purple was content to sit there and listen as the crew talked, their throat hurting a little from the strain and happy to sit there, watching TikTok on their phone. Already five or six videos on that event.
At least Green kept his promise about the movies at home.
