Amethyst gently pushed peridot away from her, and ran to the drawer. Again, almost falling.

Peridot didn't think anything of it.

Peridot got distracted, again.. by a bird outside the window.

"Okay, let's do this." Amethyst said in her mind.

She silently opened the drawer, making sure to not cause attention.

She grabbed the scalpel and took the wrapper off.

Peridot heard a crinkle, and turned around.

Amethyst quickly hid the scalpel behind her back.

"What was that?" Peridot asked.

"Hm? What do you mean?" Amethyst lied.

"Oh, nevermind." Peridot responded, looking back outside.

Amethyst laughed a little, peridot looked like a toddler sitting on the chair like that. She is so easily entertained.

A sudden wave of sadness washed over amethyst like a tsunami.

She held the blade out in-front of her,

She looked at peridot making sure she wasn't looking at her.

Amethyst walked to the side of the exam table, by the counter. And slid down slowly.

She pulled her knees against her chest and held out her arm.

There was no more room.

Amethyst panicked, she needed to release, but how could she when there was no more room?

She looked at her upper arm, closer to her shoulder.

It was blank

She smiled widely.

She took the scalpel blade to her upper arm, and sliced away.

This scalpel was much sharper than the blade she had been using.

She hardly had to apply any pressure for a deep cut.

One cut after another, until there was no more room.

It still was t enough. She was about to start cutting her thighs when garnet pearl Steven and Dr Maheswaran came back in.

Her heart sank.

She couldn't cover them up,

She didn't know what to do.

"Oh hi guys!" Peridot said, smiling and waving to them.

"Where's amethyst?" Steven asked.

"Oh she's righ- OH MY STARS" peridot was cut off by the slice of more deep gashes. She hadn't seen fresh cuts for a while, as amethysts were healing.

"What's wron-" pearl stopped dead in her tracks.

Then sped walked over to her.

"oh amethyst, please stop this."

Pearl said, grabbing the scalpel out of her hand and hugging her.

Amethyst was so ashamed. She didn't know why she did it. She just needed to.

Amethysts vision gazed over to the green gem,

She was crying, her hands over her mouth.

Peridot felt like it was her fault for amethysts relapse.

Peridot ran out the door and slid down the wall outside the room.

Steven looked over at amethyst, making sure she was okay. Then went outside to talk to peridot.

"Peridot, are you okay?" Steven asked, sliding down next to her.

"It's my fault. I was distracted. I should've been paying more attention." Peridot loudly sobbed.

"Hey hey, it's not your fault at all. You couldn't have know she would've done that. And even if you did I doubt you'd be able to stop her. Honestly i doubt anyone of us could." Steven nervously laughed.

"Can I hug you ?" Peridot asked Steven.

"Of course." Steven said, followed by a crying green gem, falling into his shoulder sobbing loudly.

"Hey, it's okay. It's okay." Steven reassured her.

Dr Maheswaran came out. "Hey, there's a blackout room down the hall if she needs to calm down." Dr Maheswaran said, smiling then walking back in the room.

"Cmon peridot, let's check it out." Steven said, standing up and grabbing her hand.

"Right." Peridot said, wiping her eyes and standing up.

"Okay so looks like it's.. right there!" Steven smiled, gently pulling peridot towards the door.

Steven opened the room door and..
