Revenge Is Sweet Until It Isn't- Ch 15
As the team headed back to casa Rossi for a small family reception Derek and Penelope kept their fingers intertwined the entire time, it still felt so unreal to them both, not only were they married but thanks to the insemination they were going to be parents.
When they pulled up in front of the mansion the team all got out of their cars and headed to the back yard so that they could get the celebration for the newlyweds started. Fran, Sarah and Desi worked hard to prepare the reception dinner while the rest of the family worked on getting Derek and Penelope married.
Dave smiled as everybody sat down at the huge table, he looked around and said, "today we welcome 1 1/2 new members to the family and in about 8 months give or take we will be welcoming Derek and Penelope's first child into our ever growing family.
Derek gently squeezed his wife's hand as Dave said, "welcome to the family Penelope, you are a breath of fresh air and this day has been coming since the day you met your hotstuff". Everybody laughed and then nodded their heads yes in agreement because it was sooooo obvious from the first day Derek and Penelope met that they were destined to be together.
Everybody raised their glasses as Dave grinned and said, "to Derek and Penelope may they have a life filled with love, joy, happiness and lots and lots of babies for us to spoil". Fran grinned and siad, "here here, I'll second that" causing everybody one again to star laughing as they then clinked their glasses together.
For the next hour or so the family laughed, talked and ate as they celebrated with Derek and Penelope, the family was so happy for the newlyweds even though their marriage didn't happen by conventional means they hoped that Derek and Penelope's life together was indeed a happy one, Reid grinned as he looked at his happy friends, if anyone deserved to be happy it was definitely Derek and Penelope and now that they were together and having a baby their family couldn't have been happier and soon, very soon they would be welcoming a little one into the family for everybody to spoil rotten.
When dinner was over Fran said, "I do believe that it's time for the bride and groom's first dance together as husband and wife", everybody grinned as they watched Derek stand up and hold out his hand to his bride, he then said, "baby girl may I have this dance?", she grinned and nodded her head and said, "of course my love, of course".
As Derek led her to the center of their dancefloor he pulled her into his arms and kissed her lips gently, she smiled and then giggled causing Derek to look at her and grin. He then said, "what are you laughing about goddess?", she said, "wellllll we haven't even slept together yet and you've already gotten me pregnant, that has to be a record doesn't it?:, causing Derek to throw back his head and laugh.
It was only a matter of a few seconds before the words to At Last filled the air, she grinned up at her husband and said, "this is one of my favorite songs, how did you know?", he kissed the end of her nose and said, "profiler remember and of course best friend for many years so of course I know that this is one of your favorite songs. She wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head down on his shoulder as they swayed back and forth, being in each others arms felt like perfection, being with Derek always felt right but even moreso today since they were now husband and wife.
It wasn't long before the other couples joined the newlyweds on the dance floor and after the first dance was over Fran wheeled out their cake, it was a gorgeous 2 tier cake and everybody gathered around to watch them cut it, they couldn't wait to see if they would play nice of cover each other with the chocolatey cake and as they fed each other a bite everybody "aweeeeed", well everybody but Jack and Henry who said, "ewwwwwwww grosssssss" causing everybody to laugh. As the party continued on Penelope danced with Reid, Dave, Hotch, Jack and Henry before making her way back to her husband and Derek danced with his mom, sisters, JJ and Emily before making his way back to his guiding light, his baby girl, his wife where the couple shared a couple more dances before they decided it was time for them to say their goodbyes and head back to the home they would share together, Derek's house aka casa Morgan for the newlyweds.
The family chased them to Derek's truck throwing bird seed at them, they laughed and waved at the happy couple as the truck started up and pulled out from in front of the huge house, they kept waving until they disappeared out of sight down the driveway, Dave then wrapped his arms around his wife and kissed her temple and said, "they looked so happy". Fran sighed and said, "that they did Dave and I'm so glad that they are together and in a few months they are going to be giving me, well us all a beautiful baby that we can spoil rotten and watch as him or her grows up", Dave nodded his head and said, "it will be great to see what good things are in store for them", Fran nodded her head and said, "and if anybody deserves happiness it's those two", Dave laughed and said, "truer words have never been spoken Bella", she then took him by the hand and led him back to the reception for a little more celebrating before cleaning up and calling it a night.
