Episode 08: Racing is Blizz-ard
"Germany!" Chris said as the recap footage began, starting with a clip of him swooping and gliding down a mountainside and above the contestants. "Here, our competitors encountered the glorious Alps, as fun to go up," Eva was shown asking the host to speak up, "as they are to come down," which was followed by the song-induced avalanche. "They also learned why Germany is world-renowned for the care they put into their sausages!" Chris added over shots of Heather holding her puke, Owen swallowing his team's meat, and Team Victory beginning their trip down the mountain on their fully-packed sausage.
"From this day on, however," the first round of the second challenge was shown briefly, showing the wins of Sky, Rodney, Sadie, and Mal, "Germany will only be known for two things: its traditional dance, and epic fails. Later, Rodney." Rodney was shown tripping over a sausage and jumping off the plane.
"There's fourteen left," Chris said as the scene cut to him and Chef in the cockpit, "but not for long, on Total! Drama! Woooorrrrlllddd~ Tooouuurrrr~!"
XXXXX
The episode opened with a shot of the Total Drama Jumbo Jet in flight, the camera quickly cutting to economy class as Owen was strapped in sleeping and drooled onto the floor. "Going down…Engine failure…" he snored.
Eva and Izzy were sitting next to him. "Keep it down already!" the female bully shouted.
This caused Owen to wake up. "Crash position!" he said before suddenly freaking out. He swung his fists around, and both Izzy and Eva avoided getting hit: the former ducking and the latter holding his fist.
"Watch where you're punching, Big O!" Izzy chortled.
"Whoa. What a terrible dream," Owen said before looking at Eva. "Eva, what happened?"
Eva let go of Owen and huffed. "You were having your usual nightmare of flying and you almost punched me in the face. That's what!"
"Cool," Owen calmed down before his face grew into horror. "Wait, did I almost punch you? I'm sorry. Please don't kill me!"
"I'm not going to murder you, Owen," Eva grunted. "That would just be petty."
"My license to kill expired a long time ago, if you guys want to know," Izzy said to the two, causing them to shoot each other with uneasy looks.
Confessional: Owen
"Sometimes I get the feeling Eva might, slightly not, totally like me at times," Owen uncertainly mentioned. "Almost punching her in the face and nearly killing us in the Yukon probably didn't help."
Confessional Ends
The scene focused on a rat crawling across the overhead compartment before a jolt of turbulence knocked it into Noah's mouth. The bookworm woke up, spat out the rodent, and wiped his mouth. "Stupid economy class!"
"Being back here has some perks," Izzy said. "I get to explore the overhead compartments and see what I can collect."
"Next time we get on this plane, we better be back in first class," Eva declared. "With Lindsay and Rodney off the team, we have four members rather than five."
"Yeah, cool!" Owen agreed and put his arm on Eva's shoulders. "Let's be a team! A team that gets along. All of us, with everyone forgiving anything that might've ever happened. Yeah!"
\
The camera flashed to the opposite wall, where the five members of Team Blizzard were sitting.
"Mike, mind if I talk to you?" Topher turned to Mal.
"Sure thing," Mal shrugged and they went further away from their team.
As soon as they were out of their sight in the cargo hold, Topher glared at Mal. "Why did you make me upset Chris? He could've disqualified me!" the fanboy immediately got started.
"I didn't know Chris would get upset," Mal lied.
"Also, why did you throw the last challenge for us?" Topher asked. "You made us lose out on massages and snacks."
"If it'll get you to stop bothering me, I have something to show you," Mal rolled his eyes and dropped Mike's hairstyle in order to show his own.
"Uh, why is your hair like that?" Topher looked confused.
"To tell you the truth, I'm not Mike," Mal said in his own voice. "I'm Mal, and Mike has been locked up."
Topher gasped. "You're endangering him? You're insane!"
Mal covered Topher's mouth. "Unless you want me to give you a broken nose, listen to what I have to say!"
"Go on," Topher said after Mal's hand was off him.
"I've seen your performance this season, and I'm impressed," Mal smirked. "You managed to take two people out of the game."
"Rodney and Amy? Yep," Topher nodded. "But why did you convince me to embarrass Chris before?"
"You're extremely narcissistic and easy to dupe, and it made for laughs. That's why," Mal answered. "I also did it to get you eliminated as you were close to Chris, but since you've still here, I figured why not work with me and we'll be an unstoppable force for the rest of the game?"
"I don't like that you tried to eliminate me, but I like that you see me as a threat," Topher smirked. "As long as you don't damage my facial looks, I'll help you cause drama."
"Seems we have a deal," Mal winked at Topher before they went back to where their team was sitting.
"What were you two talking about?" Cody asked curiously.
"I was just giving Mike some acting tips. Nothing more." Topher shrugged nonchalantly which Mal smirked at with respect.
"Here's the best team ever!" Chris said as he stepped in the cabin, gaining everyone's attention, "...is exactly what I'll say when I get into the first class compartment."
All nine teens glared at him.
\
The season's world map was shown, depicting the plane icon flying from Central Europe to South America.
The scene cut to Team Victory relaxing in their reclining seats. Duncan was feeling bored until something off-screen caught his eye. "Zeke, what are you doing exactly?"
The camera zoomed out to show Ezekiel taping the pieces of his broken bling. "I'm fixing my bling. Until I have enough money to buy a new one, I'm gonna wear this for now," Ezekiel explained and got back to his work.
"I know what happened to your golden object," Duncan said. "You see, there's this-"
A high-pitched squeal signaled the intercom turning on, and the five teens shot looks upward. "Brace for landing!" Chris announced. "We've arrived at our next destination: The Amazon! Buuut the runway's a liiiiittle short." The camera focused on Sky grimacing and buckling her seatbelt as another squeal signaled the end of the transmission.
\
The scene flashed to a runway in the middle of the jungle as the jet descended into the scene trailing smoke from one of its engines. It touched down in the middle and immediately left the screen, a crash shook the camera seconds later.
\
"Welcome to Peru," Chris told them, the cast now gathered in their teams at the jungle's edge. The background noise was filled with the chatter of birds and insects and frogs, and the ruins of a small stone building were visible through the trees. "Birthplace of the mighty Amazon River! This challenge is called the 'Am-AHHHH-Zon Race'," he explained, acting scared as he pronounced the second syllable. "Team must hike along an ancient Inca trail," the camera panned across a dirt path leading through the jungle, "through the Peruvian jungle, all the way to Machu Picchu." The camera cut to the base of the famous site and panned up to the top, where a statue with a familiar silhouette stood atop a building. "Hidden somewhere among the ruins of Machu Picchu, a golden treasure awaits discovery!" The members of Team Power were shown exchanging excited smiles.
"Find the treasure to win first class passage to our next destination," Chris said. "Last team to arrive at Machu Picchu will have to send someone out the elimination door." One by one each team was shown looking and listening with wary expressions. "And be warned," Cody immediately rose in anticipation, "the jungle contains many vicious insects!" The geek raised his hand.
"Yes, Cody," Chris said, "the legal department made me well aware of your deathly allergies and insisted we supply an EpiPen." He held it in his right hand, and swiped it away from Cody. "Wouldn't make sense to give it to the person who has the allergies. What if you need an injection when you're unconscious?"
"I can hold the EpiPen for Cody!" Ella raised her hand. "I know about animal and human aid."
Confessional: Cody
"There's a lot of things that will send me into anaphylactic shock!" Cody leaned on the toilet seat. "Black ants, brown ants, red ants, poggio beans, wolf spiders, Katydid crickets, the clear-winged cithaerias pireta butterfly, and goat saliva! Ella is the most suitable to hold the EpiPen if her aiding skills are anything to go by."
Confessional Ends
"Here you are, Ella!" Chris threw the EpiPen into the princess's hands and the scene strangely turned quiet for a brief moment before Chris resumed. "Also in the jungle are the Zing-Zings," he told them, holding up a photograph. It depicted two brown-skinned individuals in colorful headdresses with monstrous masks that covered their faces; both of them were half-hidden by the trees they were peeking out from behind. "A native tribe who have nev-er encountered modern man," the host explained over a shot of the skeptical members of Team Amazon, "and, they're not about too," the photo was shown in close-up. "So, if you spot a Zing-Zing, do. Not. Make. Contact." As he spoke, a loud drum started up behind him. "They-" he began to add before pursing his lips and shooting an annoyed look behind him, where the camera revealed Chef beating on a tall drum. "Will you stop that?!" Chris said, and the cook obliged with a shrug.
"How far is it to Mucky Pitchet?" Owen asked.
"Machu Picchu," Chris corrected with a smile, "is a hop, skip, and a jump from here. Plus eighteen hours." The cast groaned in unison. "The jungle is too dangerous to travel at night," the host warned them, "so, teams will have to break at dusk and camp along the trail until sunrise."
"And there are no tents?" Jo asked.
"Correctamundo," Chris told her. "Now, because the playing area is so vast and dangerous, each team will have a walkie-talkie in case of an emergency." He picked up a cardboard box filled with the devices. "Teams, I wish you good luck," he said. "Or, at the very least, a lack of death."
\
The footage skipped ahead to Team Victory and Team Power standing at a fork in their trail, their respective team icons hovering above them on the screen.
"Should we go left or right?" Sadie asked.
"I think we should go left," Sky said.
As Team Victory headed down the left path, the camera moved on to Team Power. "We should go left and get ahead of them," Noah told his teammates as they went the left path.
\
"Maybe we should go right," Mal suggested as the camera flashed to Team Blizzard at the fork, their team symbol above them.
"We need to go left," Topher said. "If we go left and it's wrong, then everyone will be wrong."
"Yeah! Safety in numbers," Cody agreed. "Just thinking of you ladies." In response, Heather secretly smiled.
Confessional: Heather
"I gotta say, Cody does know when to be a gentleman," Heather admitted to the restroom camera.
Confessional Ends
"Let Mike decide," Heather told the team. "He has an adventurous personality inside that can navigate us."
"We are going to the right direction," Mal decided. "Any arguments?"
"None from me," Ella said with a smile before they started down the right path.
\
"Welcome, Team Victory!" Chris greeted the team as the footage skipped ahead again. They were standing on top of a platform rising out of a tree by the river; a zipline extended from above them in the top-right down to the bottom-left part of the screen. "You get to cross this water hazard using the t-bar," he pointed at the triangular piece hanging just above him. "Everyone else will have to take the line hand-over-hand."
"Sucks to be them!" Duncan said as Sadie clapped. Duncan and Jo grabbed hold of the bar with one arm, and the camera pulled back to show Sky on Jo's shoulders, Ezekiel holding on to Duncan, and Sadie holding on to Jo, and the team took off down the line.
"Go Team Victory!" Ezekiel hollered in excitement as they rapidly descended.
\
A flash took the scene back to Team Blizzard, who were now making their way through the jungle with flies swarming around them.
"Hey, thanks for taking my EpiPen," Cody thanked Ella while at the back of the pack. "You know how to use it, right?"
"Yes I do," Ella nodded.
"When I get bit, you have to jam the needle into my thigh," Cody said uncomfortably. "Sorry if that makes you uncomfortable."
"I assure you it won't," Ella said.
Cody began to have flies swarming around him. "Bug off!" He swatted away the flies before a giant mosquito suddenly picked him up and carried him off. The bug was hit by a rock and dropped the chestnut boy, and the camera followed him as he fell into Heather's arms.
"Must you put yourself in danger so often?" Heather asked angrily before setting him down.
"I didn't see that, I'm so sorry." Cody said, full of remorse, something that surprised Heather, given she wasn't used to hearing that.
"Just be careful. I can't always be there to save you." Heather said as she walked ahead, adding that last part a bit forlorn.
\
The shot cut back over to the zipline, where Team Power was now standing on the high platform with Chris.
"Where's the t-bar?" Izzy asked in confusion. "Shouldn't there be one here?"
"There was one, but Team Victory took it," Chris mocked them. "Which means you guys are outta luck."
"Why didn't you just get more t-bars if you knew there were three teams competing?" Noah asked.
"Let's not ask questions now," Eva said. "We have to find another way across. This is how I'll do it." She jumped onto the line and maintained her balance. "The rest of you figure out what you're gonna do!" she called out as she slid down the line on her feet.
"Whatever you say, Eve!" Owen said, grabbing the line with both hands and jumping off. The shot pulled back to a distance as it had for Eva, but this time showing a distinct trail of smoke along the line as his bare hands rubbed against it.
Owen hollered in pain before plunged into the river below, though he was still holding the line. He got out of the water as several small fishes began to bite and chomp at him.
"Oh yes," Chris said as the shot cut back to the platform. "There may or may not be piranhas in this water."
\
The scene moved back to Team Blizzard, Cody now walking at the front of their group. He stopped suddenly and surprise filled his face, and the viewpoint shifted to show a pair of brown-skinned men sitting on rocks on opposite sides of a campfire. They were holding spears, and their garb and masks were identical to the tribe that Chris had warned everyone about.
"Zing-Zings. We can't make contact!" Cody whispered to his teammates. "Stay still and-" He looked over his shoulder at his team, and the camera showed that they had frozen still. Cody looked back in front, and let out a scream when he saw one of the Zing-Zings staring at him mere inches away. He quickly scrambled back to his team, who were shown front-on as a pair of spears were pointed at them.
"So much for our luck," Mal deadpanned.
Ella quickly held up their walkie-talkie. "Chris," she whispered into it. "We are in need of some assistance!" There was no response, so Ella repeated "Chris? Chris?!" A small panel sprung out the bottom of the device, revealing two free springs. "No batteries," the fairytale girl told her team.
\
The scene cut to a close-up of a pile of batteries lying on what appeared to be the rim of a tub of water. The camera pulled back to show Chef Hatchet in the jumbo jet's hot tub, playing a handheld game console. "Eat that, ghost! Eat it!" he said over the sounds of the game.
\
Back with Team Power, Chris was standing with Noah and Izzy on the treetop platform. "Alright, who's next?" Chris asked the remaining two.
"Izzy has a plan," Izzy piped up. She placed her backpack from the first episode on Noah's body. Using a piece of rope, she tied it to the line and her backpack and she slid down with Noah on her back.
The psycho hose beast shouted in joy as they reached the far shore, where Owen was stumbling up the beach looking quite worse for wear. He was immediately bowled over by Izzy and Noah, and the two teens crashed off-screen.
\
Once more, the scene flashed to Team Blizzard. They were now tied up along the trunk of a massive tree near where the two Zing-Zings were tending to their fire; from left to right were Topher, Heather, Ella, Cody, and Mal.
"The batteries from my flashlight should fit into the walkie-talkie, but I can't reach my back right pocket," Cody said.
"Ella, you're closest," Heather told the princess. "Get the flashlight."
Ella used her left hand to take out items from Cody's back pocket. "Killer Casanova kissing mints, hair gel, saw body spray, x-ray glasses?" The items all fell to the ground after they were announced.
"What color are Cody's undies?" Heather wondered sneakily.
"I do not wish to delve into that, but you can have a look if you want to," Ella said as she gave x-ray glasses she acquired off to the queen bee, to which Cody's eyes widened in horror.
"Um, I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that," Cody said in an attempt to warn her about something.
Heather didn't listen however, and put on the glasses, and the screen was pink tinted as the camera panned down on Cody. His shirt was off, but when she looked down, she saw that there wasn't any underwear. Repulsed, Heather took the glasses off and screamed in horror.
"All my underwear needed to be washed for today." Cody blushed in embarrassment.
Confessional: Ella
"Thank goodness I didn't put those x-ray glasses on," Ella sighed in relief.
Confessional: Cody
"I didn't know she would look at my butt until then, I swear." Cody said frantically.
Confessional: Heather
"Cody's lucky I knew he was trying to warn me or I'd be more annoyed than I already am." Heather said angrily.
Confessionals End
The footage returned to Ella continuing to find Cody's flashlight. "I think I got it!" she hoped before she yelped in pain due to her apparently sticking her hand in Cody's EpiPen.
"You'll be okay, I swear. It's just like a big shot of adrenaline," Cody discussed the issue.
"How big is it?" Ella gulped.
To the left of Cody, Mal looted into Cody's back pocket. When he found the flashlight, he bonked Cody in the head with it while glaring at him.
"Oh. Back left. My bad," Cody apologized.
\
The music took a tense turn as the shot flashed to a close-up of a toucan perched on a branch; it looked back and flew off with a squawk as the camera panned to the right, showing Team Power entering a small clearing nearby.
"Dusk!" Eva said with a brief look skyward. "We can make our camp here."
A short pan a little ways back left showed Owen crawling and looking exhausted. "Need rest," he moaned. "And water. Nachos would be killer right now!"
"Sure," Noah joked around. "All we're missing is chips, beef, tomatoes, cheese, salsa…"
The camera panned right to show Izzy writing on a notepad. "Hey, slow down! Guys, I'm making a list on how to make nachos!"
\
The music took a more victorious turn as the focus cut to Team Victory as they ran through the jungle.
"Chris," Jo said as the five skidded to a stop in front of the host, "tell us you have food of any kind. We're starving!"
Chris, who was standing in front of a long length of rope tied to a tree branch and leading up above off-screen, smiled. "Victory Pents, you're still in first! And this is your reward!" He took a machete out from behind his back, turned around, and chopped through the rope. A small crate promptly dropped in front of the team, breaking open and revealing a bunch of bananas.
"Potassium!" Sky said in excitement as she and her teammates gazed upon the fruit.
"All the bananas you can eat" Chris said before a high-pitched screech came from his pocket.
"Chris Chris Chris, it's Ella!" Ella's panicked and fast talking voice came over the walkie-talkie the host took out. "The Zing-Zings caught us by the tree and tied us up-"
"Wow," Chris told the camera blandly. "She sounds like she's really in trouble. I should pick this up.
"We're in big ginormous ultra large trouble!" Ella's voice came through again.
"After the break!" Chris grinned.
\
(Commercial Break)
\
The scene faded right back in to Chris and Team Victory staring at the host's walkie-talkie as Ella's panicked voice repeated "Chris! I'm still here!"
"Walkie-talkies are for emergencies only," Chris said sternly into the device. The close-up of him shrunk and was joined by an equally-small close-up of an unhinged Ella, the two scenes set against a black background.
"The Zing-Zings caught us by the tree and tied us up with my hand in Cody's pants. This trouble is big!" Ella said quickly.
"Why did you have your hand in Cody's pants, Snow White?" Noah asked as the camera included a third inset scene in the blackness and forced the first two up.
"She was trying to get my flashlight out if you were wondering," Cody said.
"We are scared tied up! Help!" Ella babbled again.
"Ella EpiPenned herself. We need help," Mal stated.
"E-mer-gen..." Chris repeated into the walkie-talkie.
"We are being held at spear point by the Zing-Zings," Heather said as she took hold of her team's walkie-talkie. "Help. Us. Now!"
"We're in first place! Hi, Ella!" Sadie joined Chris's scene bubbly and waved to her friend.
"Okay!" Chris said with a smile. "Team Blizzard, remain calm, aaaaanndd..." The pair of dings heralded the appearance of the music note symbol in the lower-right corner, Noah's inset scene moving aside to accommodate it.
"You must be joking, right?" Topher groaned.
"Do we have to sing back-up?" Owen asked, entering the bottom-left inset next to Noah.
"Nope!" Chris answered. "This one is all Blizzard. But let's make it end with a little solo from Heather. Aaaaand...begin!"
/\/\/\
[Team Blizzard's inset immediately took over the scene again as the five began bobbing their heads in time with a vihuela that one of the Zing-Zings started playing. The camera followed all the way to the end of the tied-up line, where the other Zing-Zing was also playing a vihuela.]
"We should have just gone left! We wouldn't be in this mess!"
[Heather opened the song, a panpipe entering the Zing-Zings' music.]
"I said that first and Ella used Cody's EpiPen!"
[Topher sang, the camera quick-panning to the left and showing another tribesman playing the panpipe. During the verse, Ella was shown rapidly darting her eyes.]
"Now if he gets bitten,"
[Heather sang as the camera panned out to show her and Ella.]
"My obituary's written!"
[Cody added worriedly.]
"Oh, what would we do t-he~enn!"
[Topher finished the verse, sadly closing his eyes.]
[The camera closed in on one of the vihuelas, then the beat dropped. The scene faded back into an upward-angled shot of a red-eyed Ella holding a coiled-up length of rope.]
"Tied up with rope; I do mope!"
[Ella rapped to a mix of stuttered vihuela riffs and lone drum beats.]
"Spears in our face, let us leave this place!"
[Ella continued as she recoiled from a spear that was pointed at her.]
"This is not what we anticipated!"
[Ella continued her rap, pleading with the retreating camera as she took a few steps towards it and put a hand on its side.]
"Glad this rap is G-rated!"
[Ella leaned back as she finished her rap, smiling proudly as she added "Yes, it is!"]
"I~is"
[Heather began her solo as the camera focused on her.]
"Ooh, ooh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah!"
\/\/\/
As soon as the solo ended the music did as well, and the Zing-Zings dropped their instruments. They gasped, then pointed at Heather and jabbered something in their native tongue before leaving.
"What's going on?!" Heather asked in surprise.
The shot cut to the Zing-Zings as they jabbered something else and pulled back some long leaves to reveal a large bust carved into a tree that bore a resemblance to the queen bee. The camera focused in on the face, which gleamed in the sunlight.
"I think they think you're a god of some kind," Cody said. "Which means the rest of us... are expendable!" he added as the camera showed the two Zing-Zings approaching in a menacing fashion.
\
The scene flashed to a bunch of banana peels scattered on the ground before the camera panned up and over to Team Victory, who were gathered around a campfire. With the exception of Duncan, they were all curled up asleep, but Jo woke up to the smacking being heard.
"Duncan, what are you doing?" Jo exclaimed, waking up her team.
"I'm covered by these bugs and I'm trying to get them off me!" Duncan answered off-screen.
Ezekiel took out a flashlight and shined it on the punk. "Those are not bugs. Those are just tiny monkeys," the crochet wearing boy explained.
Duncan was presented, and the last monkey that was on him fell to the ground with the other ones. "They were probably attracted to our bananas," he guessed.
Confessional: Duncan
"The monkeys did attack me first, so I have nothing to feel bad about by smacking them back," Duncan stated to the audience.
Confessional Ends
Another flash took the scene to another campfire, this time where Team Power was camping out at. Owen was sitting closest to the flames, and a ferocious growl caused him to gasp. "Is that coming from the fire?"
"Fires rarely growl," Noah told him.
"Then what was it?" Izzy asked.
Another growl from nearby was heard, and the camera pulled back to show the team glancing around the area.
"What is that?" Eva asked.
The camera cut back to the group shot as Owen leaned forward and blew on the fire, causing it to flare up just enough to illuminate a group of truly monstrous caterpillars that had surrounded the team. One reared back and spit something at the flame that extinguished it, and the members of Team Power began to scream as the giant larvae attacked them in darkness.
\
The focus went back to the tree-carved bust that resembled Heather, now illuminated only by the light of the nearby campfire. The camera panned to the left, where Heather was now seated on a wooden throne and getting attended to by the two Zing-Zings.
"No! No!" Heather drove them away. They backed off, revealing that they had given Heather a golden tiara. "That's right. Back off!"
The camera zoomed out to show the two Zing-Zings kneeling on either side of the throne, spears in hand. The shot cut to the other members of Team Blizzard who were still tied to the tree trunk.
"This is crazy! I mean, it's crazy right? It can't just be me thinking it's crazy. It's crazy, crazy, crazy!" Ella eccentricity talked to her team.
Confessional: Heather
"Even as a child, I knew that someday, a large group of people would worship me. I knew," Heather flashed a smile at the camera while wearing a maile lei around her neck.
Confessional Ends
The camera cut to Team Chris as they walked through the jungle at night. "Those monkeys will be fine," Duncan commented. "We just need to be quiet."
The camera zoomed in on a lone twig in the path as Duncan stepped on it and snapped it in two. The sounds of screeching from the monkeys caused the five to run off.
\
The footage skipped forward to the smoldering remains of a stone-lined campfire pit; the sun had clearly risen. The camera panned up and to the right, showing most of Team Power battered and holding long sticks. Eva was on one knee and looking the most alert; Izzy and Noah were asleep nearby; Owen was nowhere to be seen.
"Daybreak!" Eva said, causing the two behind him to stir and stand up. "Let's get to Machu Picchu and find that treasure."
"Izzy is going to be rich!" Izzy cheered and they left their camp.
\
The scene flashed to the members of Team Victory crawling up a steep staircase cut into the side of a mountain.
"The Victorious Fivesome!" Chris greeted. "Somehow, the five of you are still in first place. Find the treasure before anyone else," he said with a motion behind him that was matched by the camera zooming out to reveal the ruins of Machu Picchu, "and you'll leave Peru in first class."
"You can count on it!" Sadie said brightly.
"What happened to him?" Chris asked as the camera zoomed in on Duncan, who had scratches all over his body.
"He attacked some monkeys," Sky explained, "and they got back at him."
"Let's split up," Jo directed. "We'll cover more ground."
\
The scene skipped ahead again, now showing the four members of Team Power running up the stone steps.
"Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh," Chris tutted to them at the plateau at the top. "You can't start searching until the whole team is here."
"Owen's not here?!" Noah said in shock as they turned around.
"You never said that," Eva snapped. "You're just making up the rules, and I hate it!"
"And this surprises you because...?" Chris asked.
"Have no fear," Izzy said back. "I'll go look for him."
\
The scene flashed to Ella snoozing with her head on the rope while Cody witnessed it. "When epinephrine wears off, it knocks you out good," the geek said.
"Even her snoring has a melodic tune to it," Topher stated.
"Heather, make them untie us!" Mal demanded.
The camera moved past the Zing-Zings going through a backpack to Heather sitting on her throne. "What if I ask and it makes them angry? Angry enough to sacrifice one of you? You don't want that," the queen bee reasoned.
"She's got a point," Cody agreed.
\
"Owen!" Izzy called out as the scene flashed to her walking through the jungle. "Where are you?"
She bumped into a large cocoon tied up above her, and after it muffled something, she ripped the front of the cocoon off to find out that Owen was inside. "Izzy!" he gasped after seeing her.
"What happened to you?" Izzy asked.
"The caterpillars dragged me away and put me here!" Owen responded.
"How did that even happen?" Izzy questioned the funny guy. "You're too big to carry. No offense."
"The caterpillars got more to take me away," Owen explained. "You guys were sleeping, so you never knew what was going on."
"We thought you went ahead of us, even though no one can outrun me," Izzy laughed a bit. "I came back to rescue you. We have to finish the challenge."
"Is that why you're rescuing me?" Owen glared at the wild child. "So we can win?"
"Chris said we all have to be together, but I'm doing this out of the kindness of my heart," Izzy promised before ripping the cocoon out, making Owen plummet to the floor.
"Thanks," Owen said gratefully.
"No problem for us," Izzy cheekily said.
\
The scene cut back to Machu Picchu, where Team Victory could be seen searching the ruins while half of Team Power waited on a log near the top of the steps with the host checking his watch nearby.
"Tick-tock tick-tock," Chris said as the camera zoomed in on him, then panned over to the two as they waited impatiently. The sound of footsteps got their attention, and they raised their heads to look as Owen and Izzy finally arrived on the mountaintop.
"Let's find that treasure!" Izzy said after pausing a moment to catch her breath. She ran into the ruins with the rest of her team.

The scene flashed ahead a couple of minutes later. Chris was sitting on the log and even whistled to himself as he did. A couple grunts of effort came from off-screen, then Sadie exclaimed "I found it!"
"This is weird," Chris commented, the camera zooming in on him as he stood back up and walked over to see what had happened.
The shot cut to Sadie and Sky wrestling with some sort of crystal-topped stone pillar that was stuck into the ground. "Hey guys," Chris asked as he walked over, "Whatcha doin'?"
"We got the olden treasure!" Sky explained.
"Great," Chris said, "except we're looking for golden treasure."
"Here it is!" Noah exclaimed as he and his teammates ran up. The schemer was holding a melon-sized and vaguely head-shaped golden idol, the sight of which caused the host to grin.
"Like that," Chris said. "For the first time since forever, Team Power wins a challenge!" The members of the winning team cheered: Izzy and Owen high-fived and Eva and Noah fist bumped.
"So what did we find?" Sadie finally pulled the pillar out of the ground, and the shot cut up to the sky. A hollow sound was accompanied by sparkling noises as a cloud moved away from the sun, and the rays struck the pyramidal crystal that topped Team Victory's pillar.
Sadie gasped as it began to radiate teal light and emit a sort of reverberating wubbing, and the whole mountain began to shake. Stone began to crack and crumble and fall and with a cry of "RUN!" from Chris, the people gathered fled for their lives.
The ruins collapsed behind them, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Back with Team Blizzard, the four trapped with the rope saw a familiar face arriving with a hatchet in hand.
"Chef!" the four except a sleeping Ella gasped and a Zing-Zing held a spear in his direction.
"No, it's okay!" Heather reminded. "If you wanna get on their good side, you should kneel before me. I'm a bit of a god to the Zing-Zings."
"Those aren't Zing-Zings. They look like local Peruvian teenagers," Chef said before freeing the team by cutting the rope. They were free to move, and Ella fell over in order to continue sleeping.
"But the outfits," Cody pointed out.
"The spears," Topher added.
Heather looked at a flyer of a gray tower held by a Zing-Zing. "You're... actors? In this year's Shakespeare in the Jungle production of Macbeth?!" she flabbergasted.
"We play the porters," the Peruvian boy holding the flyer said before the two walked away.
"Off-bit actors put a tiara on my head?" Heather realized as she took off the aforementioned object.
"I guess you aren't a god after all," Topher joked.
"And you lost the challenge. Y'all gotta vote someone off," Chef put in.
"To top it all off, there's nobody to blame for us losing," Heather said and turned to Ella. "Morning, Sleeping Beauty!"
Ella woke up from being out cold and yawned. "Did we win?" she obliviously wondered to her team.
"The exact opposite of that today," Mal sighed.

The scene flashed to a shot of the jumbo jet flying away from the camera, towards the sun and over a mountain range. The camera then flashed inside to a plate of cookies, and then zoomed back. The cookies were being carried by a white woman, a flight attendant by her uniform, who brought them to the lounging members of Team Power.
"Keep on bringing those freshly baked cookies," Owen said as he grabbed a cookie and stuffed it into his mouth.
"It's been a while since we were here," Eva said.
"I can rest easy knowing that there won't be rats around to fall into my mouth," Noah added while reading a book.
"I'm gonna go give some cookies to them. Wouldn't want them to starve," Izzy carried her cookies off to another room.
Confessional: Ella
"This time, I'm guaranteed Heather is leaving," Ella brightly opened her confessional. "Four votes are needed to eliminate her. Three if Cody votes for someone else. I've seen how much they eye each other," she looked down to the ground, "and I do hate to destroy a potential relationship, but they can see each other when the competition ends."
Confessional Ends
The scene moved to the elimination room. "Alright, Team Blizzard," Chris greeted the five teens sitting on the stands, "are you ready to find out who you chose to eliminate?" The camera cut to the host, who was leaning against the drum that served as his podium.
"Let's get this party started!" Chris said happily and pulled out the bag of peanuts. "First bag goes to Cody!" The geek received his bag happily. "Topher! And Ella!" The next two also caught their peanuts.
"Heather and Mike!" Chris announced over their reactions - Heather feeling nervous and Mal looking determined. "This bag of peanuts goes to… Mike!"
Mal caught his bag as Heather was devastated, but got over it. "Let's just get this over with!" she claimed defeat while Cody looked on with sadness.
"I guess this would be a good time to watch Heather fall out of the plane. You know, if this had actually been an elimination round. But it's not!" Chris announced and blew on a party blower. "Surprise!" The focus moved back to Ella, Mal, and Topher gasping at Heather feeling satisfied to have dodged elimination while Cody found himself sighing at relief.
Confessional: Heather
"Now they fear me. And so they should! I will make them all pay for what they tried to do to me. Mike, Topher, Ella, and Cod..." Heather said vengefully before remembering Cody's reaction to her sticking around, "Well I guess not all of them need to pay."
Confessional: Cody
"Hold on a moment, I was actually upset about Heather potentially getting eliminated? That's... never happened before. This feels super weird." Cody said in shock, "Though I can't say I hate it."
Confessional Ends
The confessional footage cut to static on another television screen, the camera pulling back to reveal it hanging in the jet's cockpit as the series' capstone theme began to play.
"Ooooooh," Chris said mockingly, "Heather and Cody are feeling butterflies!" He laughed, then looked straight at the camera. "Tune in for the fallout, next time! On Total! Drama! Woooorrrrlllddd~ Tooouuurrrr~!" The season's own blaring theme played as the camera pulled back for a distance shot of the plane, and a flock of birds passed by underneath the plane.

(Bonus Clip)
The clip started with Noah asleep on the couch. He had his book over his eyes and his cookies were lying on the floor.
The shot zoomed in on three mice walking into first class. They spotted the plate of half-eaten cookies next to the couch and made their way to them. Grabbing one cookie each, they held them with their mouths and walked away from first class.
Author's Note: So this chapter we got a bit of Ozzy and Codeather buildup as well as Mal revealing his identity to Topher. The reason Mal is doing this is because he knew Topher wouldn't leave him alone until he figured out what was going on, so he decided to bite the bullet now. As for Cody and Heather, they were a bit hard to write, but I felt I gave them some decent buildup.
