Carly, Sam, and Freddie flew back to the loft and entered as they left, via fire escape. While removing their gear, Freddie was first to chime in on his thoughts of their heroic actions.
"You both were incredible! I didn't think you'd come, Sam! And Carly, what was that power you-" Freddie started, putting a hand on Carly.
Carly slapped it off and backed way, slowly.
"Get your hands off me, don't touch me! I just killed two people!" Carly screamed and began crying, slumping into the nearest corner while putting her head in her hands.
Sam and Freddie crept over, Sam kneeling on one knee to comfort Carly.
"Carly, listen to me. Look at me. You saved me, you saved Freddie. You saved your city today. You're a hero, kid! More of a hero than me..." Sam gently told, pulling Carly's hands from her face.
"She's right, Carls. You're a hero too, Sam. Here, look at the news." Freddie looked at the newsfeed on his phone and turned on the TV to the local stations.
"Incredible footage here in downtown Seattle earlier today, as seemingly three superheroes quelled the bank robbery of the First National here on 4th and Madison. We currently do not know the identities of these gallant individuals but I've just received word that the "iFireteam" is being offered the key to the city for their valiant efforts in stopping this heinous crime-"
"You see? They love us-" Sam explained.
"I don't CARE! I'm a killer, Sam! There's no excusing what I've done! You both need to leave, now!" Carly uttered.
"Carly, please..." Freddie walked toward her.
"Carls, it's gonna be okay, it's not your-"
"GET OUT!" Carly screamed at them.
Sam and Freddie both looked at each other in silence, now leaving the Shay residence.
Hours later, Carly was still watching TV, flipping through each channel which showed coverage domestically and internationally of the heist and subsequent foiling by Carly and her team. She promptly switched it off as Spencer entered, coughing a few times.
"Hey Spencer, you okay? You look terrible." Carly asked, running over to pat her brother's back.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just need the toilet, I'm feeling a little nauseous." he groaned.
Carly took his arm over her shoulder and led him to the toilet where he puked and retched into the bowl.
"Spencer, what happened. What did you catch? Is it contagious?" she questioned.
Spencer barfed again, wiping his mouth.
"C-Carly...I have something to tell you." he struggled to get out.
"What, Spencer? What'd going on?" she said while still rubbing his back.
"I'm sorry little sis but...I'm dying. Docs have given me a year and a half at best, nine months at the least. They don't know what's ailing me. Their best guess is exposure to some sort of radiation. I can't tell you how they'd figure something like that either." Spencer whimpered, vomiting once more.
"What? Spencer that doesn't make any sense! When were you diagnosed?!" Carly cried.
"Months ago. It's getting worse now. I couldn't keep this from you any longer. I'm the worst." Spencer chuckled, coughing.
"No Spencer, you can't die! You can't leave me here alone!" Carly wailed, holding her brother close in her arms.
A Day Later
Carly grabbed Spencer's medication from the drugstore and brought it back to him in his bed.
"Get this down, it's okay. I got you." Carly whispered, helping Spencer swallow his pills and giving him water.
She sat down on the living room couch and wept after. She needed someone. She wondered if Freddie was home and left her place to knock on his door, the tech producer answering seconds later.
"Carly! Hey, how are you-"
"Freddie, I need to see you." Carly blurted out, letting herself in and hugging him. Freddie's mom had left to go grocery shopping.
"I'm glad to see you too...is everything okay?" Freddie hugged back, kissing her on her forehead.
"No, I'm not...Spencer, he...he's dying Freddie." Carly spoke barely audibly.
"What? Oh my God, no...how? When did this even happen Carly? What's wrong with him?" Freddie began crying with her as they sat down on his bed.
"Months. I didn't know he was sick until last night. I'm so confused, Freddie! I'm scared..." Carly sobbed into Freddie's shoulder as they held each other.
A moment passed and Carly placed her hands on her best friend's cheeks, now kissing him passionately on the lips.
Freddie kissed his former girlfriend in tandem and she pushed him so that his back was lying on the bed. Kissing his neck and biting him there as well, she mounted him like when they play wrestled as kids and attempted to unzip his pants. Freddie stopped making out with her and removed Carly from on top of him.
"Carly, I can't. I can't. This isn't right..." Freddie pleaded.
"But...you've always wanted me Freddie. Don't you wanna know what it feels like to be inside me? Why can't we be the lovers we've always meant to be..." Carly whispered as she accosted Freddie, now taking his manhood into her mouth as he moaned.
"Carly...Carly, please! Stop this!" he cried, getting her off of him.
Carly wiped her mouth and stood up.
"So now, after all this time...you're going to be a total bitch and not make love to me? Little Freddie's already hard, just look at yourself." Carly scoffed.
"Carly, this isn't you...this isn't right! Please, just talk to me, I wanna help you!" he begged.
"Help THIS!" she yelled, striking Freddie with a blast of fire from her palm that he could barely defend against, sending him crashing into a shelf. Carly climbed out of his fire escape and flew away.
"Carly, wait! Carly!" Freddie called, rising from the floor, then grabbing his i.C.A.R.U.S equipment to fly after her.
The two soared through troposphere in brutal Seattle rainfall. Freddie called out to his longtime friend.
"Carly! Carly!"
Soon Freddie met Carly at a fairly exponential height and tried to get through to her.
"Jesus, Carly! It's freezing up here, why are you doing this? I love you, I've loved you since we were kids! Just come back home with me, we can talk about this!" Freddie yelled.
"Freddie, you need to go...it's not safe, please just get away from here!" Carly yelled back.
"You're a hero, Carly! You're my hero, just come down here and be with me, like the way it was!"
"I'm warning you..." her body began to steam up rapidly, a blue flame conjuring itself around her like an aura that melted off the i.C.A.R.U.S gear on her wrists and ankles, now floating without assistance.
"We can go anywhere! Just you, me and Sam! We can get away from all this-"
"Freddie, SHUT THE HELL UP!" Carly roared, creating lightning from the clouds around them which struck Freddie as he screamed. He fell to the earth below, smoking.
Carly could smell his burning flesh.
