Chapter 14 Wild fire

12. April 1997

Dear Diary,

it was so nice to wake up in Brandon´s arms and his bed again. I could have spent all day in bed with him. But unfortunately we had to go back to university. I met Donna and Clare at the campus cafeteria. They grinned at me and reported that I had missed a lot on campus. I didn´t care. All that mattered to me was I was back with Brandon. Of course Donna and Clare were happy for me. Just not Valerie. She hated me for it. I realized this when I wanted to invite my friends to a home-cooked meal and one after the other, Donna and Clare canceled. I immediately drove to the beach appartment and confronted their. After some odd remarks, the two blurted out and confessed Valerie slept in my room last night and read my diary. And they now know how I feel about them. I explained tot hem I never meant it badly with them but just found their way cute. After all, they were my friends. We made up and drove back to Brandon´s to get my meal ready. When we arrived Steve, Clare, Donna and Valerie explained they would prepare the meal for us. As an excuse. Brandon and I should wait in his bedroom. And now comes the most romantic thing ever. Where I was so disappointed in Clare and Donna´s behavio I was watching an old kids show together with Brandon. It was a show with a magician and his wand. I explained to Brandon I had always wanted this wand and I asked my Dad if he could get me one. But since I never had it, I assumed my Dad had forgotten it, as so often. Anyway, Brandon had managed, together with Steve´s help, to get me the wand. I was so happy. I proudly held it in my hand. And couldn´t stop kissing Brandon. Then Steve picked us up for dinner. And because Donna and Clare were still mad at Valerie for reading my diary, nobody at the table spoke to Valerie. It was such a beautiful day.

19. April 1997

Dear Diary,

the hawaiian flu had caught me. And sadly, so does Valerie. So Brandon was forced to take care of both of us. Valerie stayed in her room and I stayed in ours. In the evening, Brandon wanted to go to an awards ceremony with Steve. His mother, Samantha Sanders, was to receive an award. Oh dear, Valerie and I, alone at the house. A fight was inevitable. And indeed. Valerie and I snapped at each other. Eventually Valerie barged into our bedroom and wanted to know why I hate her. I said I hated her because she thought I put myself between her and Brandon. But that wasn´t true. Of course she didn´t believe me. But the topic did not let me rest. So I went into her bedroom a little later and confronted her. Eventually, Valerie blurted out the truth. She always wanted Brandon, but he saw her as a second sister. But she still hated me for taking Brandon away from her. Like Tom and Colin before. The result was we were silent for the whole next day. And I don´t know what Valerie Brandon told but when Brandon came home from university two days later, he asked me about Columbia University in New York. Why I applied there. That I didn´t seem to take our relationship seriously. I told him I had applied there before Tracy and I no longer intend to go to New York. Brandon accepted my apology. And he saw it too. It was the best proof Valerie Melone and I could no longer live together in the same house. Brandon should come up with something.

26. April 1997

Dear Diary,

holy shit…I´m six days late. I´m afraid. What if I´m really pregnant? Brandon and I just didn´t pay attention one time. I sat in the campus cafeteria and cried. Donna spotted me and comforted me. I was able to persuade her to buy a pregnancy test in the dormitory shop. We drove straight home. I called Brandon and asked him to come over. Brandon came a little later. I told him I was pregnant and showed him the pregnancy test. He was so understanding. I had an appointment with the gynecologist the following Monday. Brandon didn´t say anything, just held me tight. Later we went for a walk on the beach. We talked about our options. I told Brandon about Jackie and her abortion and I told him about my fear. In the evening we wanted to celebrate Mother´s day at After Dark. Brandon and I were talking when I saw Mom. Apparently David invited her to come to After Dark for Mother´s Day. Brandon asked if she already knew. I said No. Jackie discovered us and came right over to our table. And even though I did my best, Mom suspected something. We went to the washroom and I told her about my pregnancy and what to do. We talked about her abortion and that she wouldn´t do it again. But instead of helping me, she asked me why we weren´t paying attention. I was angry and disappointed. She of all people should understand me. Or had I been a mistake for her too. I would have expected more understanding from my mother. I accused her of being a mistake too. But she was also right. Yes, we should have been careful. I left the washroom and she followed me. She told me she will always be on my side and I was never a mistake. Finally she hugged me and said she would always have my back. It was probably the hormones. Jackie said goodby and I went back to Brandon. But it was all too much for me and I wanted to go home. Alone. But then I decided to stay with Brandon. Brandon promised to stand by me no matter what I decide. I asked him if he wanted the baby. We were only twenty-two years old. We were at a loss.

3. May 1997

Dear Diary,

I got my period this morning. I´m not pregnant. I welcomed Brandon with relief. I desided to switch to the birth control pill. So I went to my gynecologist. She told me I was pregnant after all and had a miscarriage in the morning. The period was a misscarriage. Then the doctor told me she had found abnormalities on the ultrasound. That I would have trouble getting pregnant again because of it. But for that she would have to do a few more tests. I had an appointment with Brandon that afternoon. I told him the result of my examination. I have endometriosis. As a result, the fallopian tubes are blocked and cannot receive egg cells, which makes pregnancy almost impossible. Brandon was so understanding. He said nothing would ever change between us. He love me. Then he took me in his arms. In the evening I had an appointment with my Dad in a restaurant. To my shock, Valerie was sitting at my father´s table. I looked at her angrily. She, on the other hand, had a smug smile. Dad asked what was going on. I was just angry and left the restaurant. The next morning I just sat on the couch in front of the apartment. Brandon and I spoke out.

10. May 1997

Dear Diary,

today was Erin´s elementary school graduation. It was a nice event. The exact opposite of morning. I asked Brandon to tell Valerie to please get her own appartment because Brandon and I were planning to move in together. Dad and Joy came over later and wanted dinner with me. But I lied and told about the preparations for our college graduation. It was finally time. For lunch I went to Peach Pit with Joy. Valerie came over. She threatened me she would not move out. After that I need shopping with Joy. Joy told me about a huge graduation party our Dad organized for me. Oh my god. In the evening there was a small celebration in the Peach Pit. Nat took photos of us. We made it. College was over. Four long years. And after the Peach Pit, Donna, Clare and I hung out at the appartment. On the morning of our graduation, Brandon couldn´t take me to graduation because it was anything with Valerie again. I kept an eye out for Brandon the whole time. I saw Mom and Dad with Joy. Then we were called to gather. They were all there. Nat, Rush Sanders with Ryan and Austin, Mel and Adele Silver, Felice, Dr. John Martin and Grandma Martin. But Abby Melone, Jim and CindyWalsh and, of course, Brenda, Dylan and Andrea were missing. Nevertheless, it was a nice feeling when we were allowed to move our tassels from right to left. Brandon gave a touching closing speech. After the party, Brandon and I had a little fight. He wanted Valerie to stay. In the evening there was the 20´s party. We were all dressed appropriately. Dad had spent a lot of money. He even flown „The Cardigans" in. But despite the good vibes, I was still mad at Brandon about Valerie. Even Joy couldn´t cheer me up anymore. Eventually Brandon came to my table. He told me Dad was bad. I should talk to him again. It didn´t do anything. He couldn´t make up eighteen years in just one evening. Brandon wantd to know what´s going on. I was completely annoyed and let him go. There was an error. I was the problem. I was too stubborn. He wanted to talk to me but I wouldn´t let him. I saw that. So I went out and wanted to say goodbye to him. I apologized to him and suggest a relaxed dinner. But then two guys from the FBI came. Dad explained to me he was arrested for embezzlement and fraud. They had allowed him this party. But he told me he was very proud of me and we were able to make peace. I finally heard from Dad he´s proud of me. I was happy again. I also made up with Brandon. Even with Valerie. Finally Brandon, Steve, Valerie and I drove to the Walsh-House. We wanted to celebrate our new flat share. And I knew one thing…with Brandon by my side nothing would happen to me.

Sammy closed the diary and looked satisfied. He had the certainty his father was really his mother´s true love and will ever be. The rest was past. But somehow he was curious. He wanted to continue reading the diary.

He texted Toni.

S: Are u awake?

T: Yes, but I don´t want to get up yet. What are you doing right now?

S: I read Mom´s diary.

T: And were there any surprises again?

S: No. Fortunately not. Mom wrote clearly in her diary Dad was and still is her great love. I´m very happy about that. I can only hope something like this doesn´t happen to us in a few years.

T: LOL

S: How was your date with Stevie?

T: Stop it. I think he fell in love with me. I have to talk to him tomorrow.

S: You´re gonna break his heart lol

T: We have to break this strange cycle. I will definitely not be friends with anyone in our group. That only brings bad luck.

S: See you tomorrow lol

Lost in thought, Kelly sat in the kitchen and drank her tea. The day before had made her think. The afternoon with Ruby had been great but she had also used the time to watch her niece.

Ruby was only ten years old but already so independent. Almost too independet. Kelly could well remember how happy David was the first time he held his daughter in his arms. He, Donna and Ruby had been the perfect family. In the first few years, they and the Walshes did a lot together, went on vacations and always had a great relationship with the Silvers. The only think Kelly thought a pity was Ruby and Nath never played together like Sammy and Toni. She also found David spoiled his daughter a lot and unfortunately shielded her a bit. His little princess shouldn´t be playing with two lively boys. They would only give her silly ideas. Kelly left it at that. She still thought David was a good father. But Donna seemed to have little to no time for her daughter didn´t thrill Kelly at all. Ruby always said she was proud of her Mom and what privileges Ruby got from it. Ruby had her Nanny, her personal trainer, her own ballet-teacher, music teacher and even a masseuse. Sammy thought his cousin was very conceited.

„Thinking of Ruby?" Brandon snapped her out of her thoughts.

„Yes."

„Did you find out anything?"

„No. I didn´t want to question her either. I just wanted her to be happy. And she seems to be. Although she only ever talked about David and very little about Donna."

„Then it seems like only David is the one who is unhappy."

„And that´s what I have to find out next." Kelly took a sip of tea.

Her phone vibrated. A reminder was displayed.

„Oh yes. Next Saturday is the big fashion show at West Beverly High. Donna wanted to choose the most beautiful clothes for us."

And barely had she finished this sentence her phone rang. Donna´s face appeared on the display.

„Hey Donna. I was just thinking about the fashion show."

„Hey Kel. Great, wasn´t it. I´m on my way back from Milan. Was a great success. I´ll bring you the best clothes I have. The fashion show will be mega."

„Shall I pick up my dress?"

„Sure, I´ll be in the shop anyway. I´ll let Brenda know too. See you later." Donna hung up.

Kelly later arrived at „Now Wear This" with Brenda.

Donna greeted them warmly and pulled out a bottle of champagne.

„We absolutely have to start. I was able to get an acquaintance customer. A big order. I´m so happy."

„Have you been home yet?" Kelly asked cautiously.

„No. I came right here. I have so much work to do here." Donna looked down at her desk.

Kelly said nothing. Donna had been gone for a week and she didn´t want to see her family first.

„So guys. We toast. On „Now Wear This"."

The tree ladies clinked glasses and Kelly and Brenda shared a sigificant look.

At school Toni and Sammy saw the posters for the fashion show.

„Oh god. Luckily I´m not there with Dad. Then you women have your peace."

Toni was about to say something when she felt arms around her shoulders.

It was Stevie.

„Hi you two. Ah, the fashion show. Yes, Maddy and Mom are participating too. And my Dad invites everyone over for a barbecue."

„Yes, we know that. Mom already told us."

Toni already suspected why the invitation came. Stevie wanted to show her how great his father is. And she was right. All week Stevie reported on what his father got for the big barcecue and what they could play with. She didn´t care. She was just looking forward to the fashion show.

Later the day, when Erica stopped by her brother and sister-in-law´s house to see what they were going to wear to the runway show, Toni and Sheila proudly showed her their new clothes.

„Wow, you look great." Erica applauded.

And Kyle blurted it out. „And then we´ll have a barbecue with the Sanders family." He beamed. „Then I´ll have a look at Stevie´s room. Toni said his room is like a spaceship."

„Oh. A barbecue." Erica looked at Brenda.

„I´ll ask Steve if you can come with me. I´m sure he won´t mind." Brenda tapped her phone.

„Oh, Steve´s making his famous barbecue again."

„Then he´ll go back to making his margaritas." Brenda chuckled. „Two of them and you can no longer walk on your own."

„Shall I bring something?" Erica asked.

„We should each bring a salad." Brenda took a sip of coffee.

„Kelly will manage that." Erica grinned.

The two women snorted.

„I´m curios about Stevie´s room." Kyle sipped his cacao.

At the Walsh home, Kelly also tried on her new dress. Brandon walked into the bedroom and watched his wife try her on. He cleared his throat but looked at the dress. It was also red lace. Kelly´s had a strapless look and a low back, it hugged curves dangerously and flowed beautifully to the floor. Brandon swallowed hard. „It´s nice."

„Can you zip me up, please?" Kelly look at him seductively.

Brandon came over to her, pulled her dress up and kisses her shoulder.

„Looks good on you."

„Thank you very much."

„You´ll be the center of attention." Brandon continued to kiss her shoulder.

„Where are the kids?" Kelly murmured.

„Sammy is reading in his room and Nath is busy with his Playmobil." Breathed Brandon in her ear.

That was enough for Kelly as an answer. She turned around and she and Brandon pressed their lips together. Brandon unbuttoned her dress again and Kelly dropped it on the floor. Their kisses were hot. They quickly closed their bedroom door. Within seconds, Brandon had removed his clothes and was leading Kelly to the bed. They knew they didn´t have that much time. Brandon was already penetrating her. Kelly wrapped her thighs around his waist with relish. She felt his hands all over her. Their lips didn´t leave each other.

Brandon´s thrusts were hard and fast. Kelly had to try not to be loud. Recently, Brandon had hit her G-spot. After a few minutes he fell onto Kelly´s chest.

„A very nice afternoon." Brandon looked down at his naked wife.

Kelly rolled onto her stomach and gave him a satisfied look.

„What Donna´s clothes do to husbands? I´m excited."

„Yes, she has talent. Were you able to talk to Donna?"

„No. We haven´t had a chance yet. But definitely at Steve´s barbecue."

They kissed again. Then they both knew they should get dressed again.

It was the twenty-seventh annual West Beverly Mother/Daughter fashion show. Chaired by none other than Janet Sanders.

The auditorium was phantastically decorated. Janet had tried so hard.

The families arrived at the same time. Brenda, Kelly and Toni and Sheila immediately disappeared behind the scenes to change. Brandon, Dylan, Steve and David took a seat in the front row. Kyle, Sammy, Nath and Stevie hated being in suits but their fathers inisted everyone should dress up. It didn´t take long and the lights were dimmed. Janet entered the stage. Steve proudly pulled out his camera.

„Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to our West Beverly Mother/Daughter fashion show."

The applause was very big.

„And a big thank you to the sponsor of these gorgeous dresses `Now Wear This` by Mrs Donna Silver."

Donna entered the stage and bowed.

It started. In alphabetical order, a girl came out first, followed by her mother. All dresses were commented on by Janet.

When M started Dylan got ready. Sheila appeared first. She wore a cute pink dress with violet bows. After her, Toni walked the catwalk in a two-piece suit, in black, with a beaded top and long, flowing skirt. Finally Brenda. Her dress was long and also black. It had a little beading at the bodice that fell low between her breasts, it flowed beautifully, with a high slit at her thigh.

Dylan whistled and devoured her with his eyes.

When Maddy appeared there was no stopping Steve. He jumped up and applauded even louder. Maddy wore a beautiful mint-colored dress, also set withh small pearls and a perfect décolleté.

With Donna busy backstage with the dresses, Ruby walked the catwalk first, followed by Kelly.

Kelly send Brandon an airkiss.

At the end, all models walked the catwalk together again. And this time, Donna stood by her daughter and smiled at the camera.

There was a standing ovation and Harry Wilson, the school principal, presented each model with a bouquet of flowers.

„You look so hot Bren." Dylan murmured in Brenda´s ear.

„Thank you." Brenda kissed Dylan on the lips.

„I´ve already given you my opinion." Brandon grinned at his wife.

„Oh yes." Kelly kissed him too.

„Wasn´t my wife great?" Steve also airkissed Janet while she was still chatting with some photographers along with Donna.

Only David held back. Instead, he hugged his daughter lovingly and pressed a small rose into her hand.

„You look so cute."

„Thanks Daddy." Ruby hugged her father lovingly.

Kelly saw the two. She worried. David and Ruby didn´t seem to miss Donna at all. She looked at Donna. Donna was so busy doing interviews. Suddenly Donna looked in her direction and raised her hand. She pointed to David and Ruby. David understood and together with Ruby he went to his wife.

Kelly just shook her head. What is this supposed to be?

Yes, what ist hat supposed to be? Silvers have problems but both, Donna and David, try to keep it a secret. My apologies, I didn´t remember Donna´s grandmother´s name. Simply because this episode with Donna´s grandparents was too stupid for me. I´ve never looked at them in full. Because I´ve never been a DD fan and I still am not. So it didn´t interest me either. And with excerpts from Kelly´s diary I will go ahead. The next S8 and Brandon´s dark side. And Sammy will understand why his father had forgive his mother. Review please…
