Chapter 6: Rebecca Chambers

The two entered one of the locked rooms thanks to the new key they got from the book of curses. As they explored the hallway, they stumbled across two rooms.

"Alright you check that room, I'll check this room, ok?" Michael asked.

Jill nodded and proceeded to head into one of the rooms. The room she entered was a bathroom, as the lights were on along with the fan moving slowly. She stumbled across a bathtub filled with dirty bath water. She unplugged the drain and waited for the water to drain out, but soon a hand came out of the tub. Jill gasped in shock, as she backed away from the zombie who got out of the tub but fell to the floor. The zombie latched onto Jill and tried to bite her, but Jill stomped on the zombie's head killing it immediately.

"Ugh, I think I'm going to be sick," Jill said, looking ready to puke.

Jill threw up on the toilet, before cleaning herself up. Before she left the bathroom, she grabbed the dagger that was conveniently placed on the bathtub. Once she left the bathroom, she saw Michael outside waiting for her.

"You alright, Jill? I heard you screaming, so I went to check up on you," Michael said, as Jill nodded.

"I'm fine, just had an encounter with a zombie, but it's taken care of," Jill explained.

"Well I went to the other room and it only led me outside, but I did manage to get some herbs and this bag of chemicals for plants," Michael said, as Jill raised an eyebrow.

"Now why would we need a bag of chemicals?" Jill asked.

"Well you never know really," Michael explained, as Jill rolled her eyes.

The two continued down the hallway as they came across another room. The room was small, as the walls show an eerie painting. However there was another room they entered and the room wasn't special except for maybe the random shotgun that is placed on the wall.

"This could be useful," Michael said, as he grabbed the shotgun and loaded it up. "Come on, let's head back," Michael said, as Jill nodded.

When the two left the room, that's when a noise could be heard from the door. It appears the doors were locked through a mechanism. But what's even worse was the fact that the ceiling was coming down on them.

"Shit we need to get out fast!" Michael said, as Jill tried to open the door.

"The doors are locked, what do we do?!" Jill asked, as Michael tried to brainstorm something quick until he had an idea.

"Stand back, I got this!" Michael said, as he took out the shotgun. He blows the door lock open and kicks down the door.

"Come on!" Michael said, as he and Jill quickly jumped out of the room before the ceiling flattened them. The room was now blocked, as the two took a moment to catch their breath.

"Man that was close, a second late we could've been flattened into a pancake or sandwich," Michael jokes trying to lighten up the mood, as Jill gave him a deadpan look.

"I can tell, but good thinking on your part, even though we almost got killed," Jill retorted.

"Right…I'll try not to do that again," Michael said, as he offered a hand to Jill.

She took his hand and got back up before the two decided to quickly leave the area, as they encountered a couple of zombies roaming the area. Michael manages to gain a headshot at one of the zombies using the shotgun. They ran into another room with a stairway, as a couple of zombies stalked the area. The two rained bullets on them, taking the zombies down. After making sure there are no more zombies in the area, the two explored one of the rooms.

"Hey you smell that?" Jill asked, as Michael sniffed around the area before nodding.

"Yeah, it smells like kerosene and I think it's coming from that container," Michael pointed out, as he also saw an empty flask.

"I think there's a note here," Jill said, as she picked up the note.

"What does it say?" Michael asked.

"It said that we need to use the kerosene on the zombies in order to fully get rid of them, otherwise they come back much stronger," Jill stated. "You got a lighter?" she asked.

"I got a box of matches," Michael said, as he took out a matchbox.

"Good let's fill up the flask with kerosene and light one of them fuckers up," Jill said, as Michael does as told.

With the kerosene flask, they found the pile of zombies they took out. Pouring the kerosene on them, Michael lights up a match and throws it on the pile of zombies. One of the zombies reacts to the fire, but eventually the zombies burn into smithereens.

"Jesus the note should've also mentioned the nasty smell after we burn them up," Michael said, as he and Jill pinched their noses.

"Agreed," Jill said, looking rather green.

After burning the pile of bodies, the two left the room and went to another corridor. The corridor leads into another hallway and as they crossed the hallway, they opened the door which led them back to the very place they started off.

"Barry," Jill called, as she noticed Barry searching around the main hall. Barry turns around to see that Jill and Michael were there, as he breathes a sigh of relief.

"Oh it's you two, thank goodness. Have you got any good news?" Barry asked, as the two shook their heads.

"None whatsoever, have you gotten word from either Chris or Wesker?" Michael asked, as Barry shook his head.

"Sorry kid, no response from them yet," Barry said, as Jill groaned in frustration.

"Damn it, let's keep searching for them," Jill said, as Barry nodded before heading off on his own.

The two decided to retrace their steps by heading back to the top floor of the dining room. The reason as to why is because in one of the rooms they explored, Jill found a note along with a dog whistle. From reading the note, there was an important item lying around the area mentioned in the note. After opening one of the doors from the top floor, they came across a corridor that had a door on the wall mentioned in the note. Opening the door, they came across a balcony with a stained glass window showing a witch.

"You ready?" Jill asked, as Michael nodded.

"Let's do this," Michael said, as Jill blew the dog whistle. Within moments, the zombie dogs came out of the shadows ready to lunge at them. Michael and Jill shot the dogs, but it seemed that one of the dogs bit Michael in his arm.

"Agh!" Michael yelped in pain, trying to shake off the dog.

"Michael!" Jill shouted, as she shot the dog that bit Michael. After taking care of the dogs, Jill went over to Michael looking concerned.

"Are you alright?" she asked, as Michael shook his head

"I'm a bit hurt, quick grab those herbs and mix it up," Michael said, as Jill nodded. Grabbing the herbs, she mixed it up and gave it to Michael. Michael snorted the healing herbs, before getting back up.

"Ah now that hit the spot," Michael said, as Jill shook her head in exasperation.

"You really had to snort it like that?" Jill asked, as Michael nervously chuckled.

"Well I mean it's not like it's cocaine, but if you want I could just roll it like a joint," Michael offered.

"I'd rather chew on it instead," Jill said, before taking a look at one of the dog collars.

"Huh, now that's interesting," Jill said, as she took out something from the collar.

"What's interesting?" Michael asked.

"Check out this coin, doesn't something interest you about it?" Jill asked, taking a closer look at the coin.

"It's just a coin, not like it's a key or anything," Michael said, until Jill activated the mechanism on the coin. The coin turns into a key, as Michael had a double take on what he just said earlier.

"Ok, I stand corrected," Michael said, as Jill smirked.

"Let's continue on," Jill said, as she and Michael left the area.

The two continued downstairs, not before taking care of the zombie that was waiting to grab them upstairs. Of course, they needed to conserve their bullets as the zombies are like sponges when it comes to taking bullets. Soon they entered one of the rooms downstairs, as the room felt rather safe

"Hey come check this out," Michael said, inspecting the shelves.

"What is it?" Jill asked.

"Serums, many different kinds, but what for?" Michael asked, raising a question.

Just then, the two's radios went off as they both answered their radio.

"Michael here, who's calling? Over," Michael asked on his radio.

"Michael, thank god it's you, are you and Jill ok? Over," Chris asked on the radio.

"We're fine, Chris. What's the situation for you? Over," Jill asked.

"I'll explain later, but you two need to hurry on over, I found Richard and he's looking bad. He's been poisoned by a snake and needs an antidote quickly, over," Chris said.

"Copy that," Michael said, ending the radio call.

"Alright, I found the antidote, come on!" Jill said, as Michael nodded.

The two rushed out of the room, trying to avoid the zombies trying to bite them. The whole mansion felt like a maze, as they didn't know where to go. But soon they found Chris and Richard, but they weren't alone however. A young woman wearing the S.T.A.R.S. medic uniform was there, as she tended to Richard. Richard was looking in really bad shape, as there was a nasty bite on his left arm.

"There you guys are, quick the antidote!" Chris ordered, as Michael quickly gave it to Chris.

"Alright, Rebecca do your thing," Chris said to the woman named Rebecca, as she nodded.

"Got it," she said, applying the antidote onto Richard who was seconds away from dying.

Soon Richard was healed, as he had to rest up while everyone sighed in relief.

"Thank god you two got here fast, we could have almost lost Richie here," Chris stated.

"Yeah, I can tell, anyways, are you the one named Rebecca?" Michael asked the woman named Rebecca.

"Yeah, the name's Rebecca Chambers of the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team," Rebecca introduced herself.

"Michael Kapoor and my friend here is Jill Valentine," Michael introduced himself, while pointing at Jill who waved.

"Care to explain what happened here?" Jill asked.

"A snake…a really giant snake bit me," Richard uttered, as both Michael and Jill raised an eyebrow.

"A giant snake, really?" Michael asked.

"Believe what you will, but Chris, get your team out, it's not safe here," Richard said, until he passed out.

"I'll stay here with him, you guys go on ahead," Rebecca said, as the three nodded.

"Alright guys, let's stay together as things might get dicey," Chris said, as he joined both Michael and Jill.
