"What's going on?" he asked her immediately, brow lowered.

"The Grants called me for a second opinion on your trial," she said. It took a moment for the words to reach his head while he got distracted by the new darker shade of lipstick Alicia was wearing.

"You're kidding," he scoffed, eyes wildly trying to find another place to look besides her lips.

"No. I told them no," she said firmly. Will's heart lurched at her words. He looked off to the side, pretending to appear unaffected.

"Then, why are you here?" he asked, once he finally managed to compose himself. He noted that Alicia never took her eyes off of him. Alicia paused, her mouth agar for a moment before she said,

"I decided to warn you." Her eyes finally left Will and fixed to the floor. "I was thinking if I was in your shoes, and I had a client calling behind my back, I would wanna know."

At her last few words, she brought her eyes back up to meet his. Will furrowed his eyebrows and watched her for a few moments. She turned to go, deciding that she didn't want to hear whatever he was going to yell at her.

"Alicia…" Will said, putting a hand on the wall and making her turn around, "Thanks."

He nodded as he said it. Alicia beamed. Will loved her smile. It was second only to her laugh.

"Hey, we might have our differences, but you're the better lawyer," she said, paying him a compliment he never expected. He smiled in response.

"I am, aren't I?"

She laughed. A full Alicia laugh.

"And the more humble," she added, coaxing another smile from Will. She turned and left again, not offering a goodbye, but Will did not expect one. He was just hoping. He watched her leaving with her smile still across her face. A heaviness filled his chest, knowing that he would never see any woman as beautiful as her.

Hey, this one's a short one because it's part of the same chapter. I'll leave them up separately for a few days so people know it's been updated and then I'll join the chapters together. We are almost reaching the point where this fic will be solely AU because obviously Will doesn't die in this. Just think about the S7 ending if Josh Charles hadn't wanted to leave. :( And there would have been two more seasons of Wilicia moments. Anyway, I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with this next so I'll probably have two sets of endings. One ending which is soon, like the equivalent of 5x17 or 5x18. And another one (on a separate fic) where I live out the dream of Will and Alicia getting together at the end of season 7. That would obviously be a much longer project but I'd mainly focus on the Wilicia and just skim over a lot of the main show plot unless it's essential to their relationship. Let me know what you think of that idea! I also might do some one shots of moments when they were together if I have any ideas.
