After several days of intense training in order to face Gordie, Lincoln had finally arrived in the icy town of Chichester, where he plans to go to the stadium to face the hard rock crusher for his sixth gym badge!
Lincoln knew that he had several Pokemon on his side who had type advantages voer Gordie's rock type Pokemon but he knew not to underestimate a gym leader as doing that last time was what resulted in him losing Nessa!
"Man, this place is cold!"said Lincoln who was glad that he was wearing a hoodie, otherwise he would be freezing his butt off in Chirchester!
"Phew... I've already visited the Pokemon Center, so the only thing left to do is to go to the stadium and pastor gym challenge. Then I faced the hard rock crusher in a gym battle and earn my sixth gym badge!"said Lincoln with determination and fire in his eyes as he knew the only by winning against Gordie in a battle will he advance ever so closer to his long-awaited battle against Leon!
"Now to make my way past the hot spring in towards the stadium... and maybe reward my Pokemon later with a dip in that hot spring."said Lincoln, as he knew that the hot spring in Chichester was for Pokemon only so giving them a hot bath after a long battle was probably the best reward he could give them.
So Lincoln wasted no time as he has been waiting days for his battle against Gordie, and nothing was going to stop him from facing the rock hard crusher for the rock badge!
That is when he ran into a familiar face which consisted of his friend Hop.
"Hop..."sad Lincoln awkwardly as he didn't expect to run into Hop so soon after they made their promise to battle each other the next time they met.
"I lost against Gordie."said Hop, surprising Lincoln as he wasn't down in the dumps like usual and instead was acting like his old self who took defeat gracefully.
"Your looking like your old self again."said Lincoln, who had to admit he was glad to see that the old Hop appeared to be back.
"Well we promised each other to have a battle but I'll wait until you have a battle against the rock hard crusher in order to take you on."said Hop, as he knew better than anyone that Lincoln was looking forward to his battle against Gordie.
"Thanks Hop, I'll see you after I'm done beating Gordie!"said Lincoln before he passed his friend and made it his way to the Chirchester stadium.
"That guy is going to go far places but let's see how he handles my old team now that they're all trained and grown up."said Hop to himself as he headed back to the stadium to see Lincoln's match.
Lincoln on the other hand are already changed into his uniform and began to take on the gym challenge which was to navigate through a field of rocks without falling into the pits below, using special sensors to help him navigate the way.
"Man, this is so intense as I feel like I'm in an antlion trap."said looking to himself as he began navigating and managed to pass the first step before he made his way to the next one, but to his surprise a sandstorm came out of nowhere and started to blind him a bit!
"Ha! When you deal with my sister's pranks you get used to things like sandstorms... I still wonder to thisnday where Luan got all that sand."settling into himself as he carefully navigated through the sand to try to get through without falling into the pit below!
But it was easier said than done as there was a close call just a few minutes as he stepped his foot forward, but he managed to notice that the last second and stopped himself from falling into a pit!
"Phew!"said when can I see manage to navigate to The next step and manage to get to the higher level, or even more sand was blowing.
"Got to keep my eyes as squinted as possible while navigating as I don't want dirt in my eyes!"said Lincoln to himself as he began navigating through the rough terrain which was easier said than done as Lincoln had to carefully step forward each time as he could hardly see where he was going.
And he knew it wasn't for the motion sensors on him, he would have already fallen into a pit by now as it was not easy passing through all the way to the safe area.
"Okay, I'm past the halfway mark so I just need to make it to the end and I'm going to face the rock hard crusher!"said linking with the termination as he made his way off the halfway point and began making his way to the end!
After a few close calls he managed to make his way to the end and the sand stop blowing to reveal that Lincoln had passed through a bunch of pits that he didn't even realize they were there.
"Phew... that was certainly intense... now on to the field of battle!"said Lincoln as he began making his way up the steps before two pups of smoke appear next to the doorway that led to the stadium ground!
"Yes! I passed!"sad Lincoln with excitement as he passed through the checkpoint.
"Okay, I'm counting on you guys to help us pass through this battle as Gordie is tough, but we're going to show him our raw power and that can pass through any Rock."said when can I see made his way to the stadium where Gordie seem to be waiting for him with his back turn?
"I so you navigate through my gym challenge quite easily and I must say I'm impressed does not many people managed to get through that challenge."said Gordie as he turned into face Lincoln while adjusting his sunglasses.
"Let's just say I had to deal with a lot back home than being me good at navigating mazes."said Lincoln, who knew that that's something was April fool's Day.
"Well you showed this gym leader that you have what it takes to make it to the top so let's see how good your Pokemon are in battle!"said Gordie as he pulled out a pokeball!
"Your on!"said Lincoln as he pulled out a pokeball.
And it was in that moment that the referee took his position on the field.
"This will be a four on four gym battle between Lincoln the challenger, and Gordie, the Chirchester gym leader. The battle will be over when one side's Pokemon are unable to continue! Additionally, only the challenger will be allowed to substitute. With the rules said and done let the battle begin!"declared the referee as the two trainers tossed out their first pokeballs to release their first Pokemon.
"Urshifu, I choose you!"said Lincoln as he called out the Kung Fu Pokemon.
"Barbaracle, come on out!"said Gordie, as he called out a Pokemon that look like it was a combination of rocks and barnacles.
"Who's that Pokemon?"questions Lincoln as he pulls out his pokédex.
Pokedex: Barbaracle, the collective Pokemon. Seven Binacle come together to form one Barbaracle. The Binacle that serves as the head gives orders to those serving as the limbs.
"So that's a rock and water Pokemon... plus I'm assuming it's body can move independently from one another so this is going to be tough!"said Lincoln with a sweat drop as he knew if the Pokedex entry said was true, then he wasn't dealing with one opponent but seven!
"Bar!"said the collective Pokemon as he appeared ready for battle!
"Challenger gets the first move!"said Gordie with confidence.
"Urshifu, use brick break!"ordered Lincoln, causing the Kung Fu Pokemon to light up his arm with energy as he went over to the collective Pokemon and struck him with a fighting type move, causing super effective damage!
"Use razor shell!"ordered Gordie, causing the collective Pokemon to start forming water on its claws before it struck the Kung Fu pokémon with the water type move from up close, causing a great deal of damage.
"Now use rock tomb!"ordered the gym leader, causing Barbaracle to form dozens of near his body before he launched them at the Kung Fu Pokemon!
"Use iron head to bypass it!"ordered Lincoln, causing the Kung Fu Pokemon to surround its head with metal like energy as he charged towards Barbaracle, slamming through the rock tomb as he made his way to the collective Pokemon.
"Use liquidation!"ordered Gordie, causing the collective pokémon to place two of its "hands"together to form what appeared to be a sword made out of water.
Then before anything could be said, Barbaracle charged towards Urshifu and both Pokemon collided with one another with their respective attacks with liquidation and iron head trying to push each other back and surpass one another!
"Use brick break while you're up close!"ordered Lincoln, causing the Kung Fu Pokemon to take a step back, causing the collective Pokemon to lose his balance!
Then with no words spoken the Kung Fu Pokemon raised his paw and struck down the collective Pokemon with brick break, causing super effective damage as the collective Pokemon fell to the floor and was revealed to have been knocked out!
"Barbaracle is unable to battle! Meaning this part of the battle belongs to Lincoln and Urshifu!"declared the referee, as Gordie recalled the collective Pokemon back to his pokeball.
"You did an awesome job out there and more than deserve a good rest."said Gordie, before he turned his attention back to the battlefield then pulled out another pokeball.
"Shuckle, come on out!"said Gordie as he was talking to pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that look like a red rock with some kind of worm inside of it.
Lincoln of course pulled his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon in front of him.
Pokedex: Shuckle, the mold Pokemon. It stores berries inside its shell. To avoid attacks, it hides beneath rocks and remains completely still.
"So it's a bug/rock type Pokemon with impressive defensive stats."said Lincoln as he figured this Pokemon fit Gordie well, has some say defense is the best offense.
"Use power trick!"ordered Gordie, causing the mold Pokemon to launch what appeared to be psychic power at the Kung Fu pokémon.
Urshifu was confused by this as he felt something strange about him happening as power trick hit him before it returns back to Shuckle.
"What was that?"questions Lincoln as his gut was telling him he something bad had just happened in his gut was usually right...!
"Use struggle bug!"ordered Gordie, causing the mold Pokemon to launch blast of energy at the Kung Fu pokémon, which struck Urshifu and cause more damage than it should!
"Wait! How did that happen?! Shuckle have weak attack power and special attack power!"said Lincoln, before realizing what power trick did.
"Hehehehe, power trick has the ability to match out the attack and special attack stats of Shuckle's opponents! So now my Shuckle has more attack power and special attack power than it did before!"explained Gordie with a huge grin on his face.
"How... how am I going to get past this?"asked Lincoln has now he was dealing with an opponent who not only had an impressive defense and special defense, but now had impressive attack power as well as adequate special attack!
[With his sixth gym badge on the line, will Lincoln be able to pass by the wall that is Shuckle?! Only time will tell her the journey continues as Lincoln continues his gym battle against the rock hard crusher]
