Okay, readers. Here is the 3rd chapter of this story!

Now it took me a while to put this together, but I finally wrote out what I wanted for this chapter. I hope you all enjoy it.

Anyway, this chapter focuses on Adam at his house as he wonders more about if his experience at CDMS is worth the sacrifice of his dignity, thanks to Jake, he also gets a visitor who overhears him, and a few other things will take place. How will things go for Adam at his house after school? Read and find out now!

ADAM'S HOUSE - 4:58 PM

It had taken quite a bit of walking since he couldn't take the bus, but Adam finally made it back home. After the kind of day that he had at school today, the only human student at CDMS could use a breather right about now.

"Phew, it's great to be back home," Adam let out a sigh of relief as he approached the front door of his house. "I'm glad today is over. I just want to forget that this nightmare ever happened."

Upon walking through the driveway, Adam noticed that his parents' car was not there, meaning they were still at work. He could work with that though. He had a spare key to the house. And there was still some time left until dinner.

Approaching the front door, Adam got out a spare house key and unlocked it. He then entered the house.

"I'm just glad that I still have my human aspects after all this time I've been going to Charles Darwin Middle School," Adam commented, throwing his backpack on the couch. "I could never live with going feral from lack of sleep because of how things work at that school."

With that said, Adam decided to empty his backpack, placed all of his stuff on the table, and then tossed the backpack to the side. He then threw out that empty paper bag that did contain his lunch in the kitchen.

"Hmmm, maybe I should get something to drink. Some soda might be good right about now," with that said, Adam went to the fridge to find a can of soda.

After skimming through it, he settled on having an orange soda, which he grabbed and then closed the fridge.

"Well, here's to the end of another school day at CDMS," Adam said dryly to himself as he opened the can and drank some of it down. "Ah. That hits the spot."

Adam then walked back into the living room, placed his soda on the table, and took a seat right on the couch. Once he got comfy, he decided to look through his book and get his homework done and over with...or whatever homework he can understand from going to an animal school. He still didn't know how he could be able to work with this kind of stuff in the future since he was a human. Just thinking of this made him frown.

I still have to wonder how I'll be able to use this stuff in the future when I'm not in school anymore. I do not want to be a zoo animal. Adam thought sadly. Oh, who am I kidding? The school hates me, and I have no way around it.

Truth be told, he had always wanted to be sent back to his old human school. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that his time at Chester Arthur Middle School wasn't as good as he remembered. True, he did get all A's in each of his classes. But the experience, upon looking back, wasn't all that pleasant. Especially since he still dealt with bullies such as Chad.

The time he took part in that exchange program to attend CAMS for himself showed him that. Not to mention that the lunch served there wasn't any better than the grub that they serve at CDMS.

Now that I think about it, I must've repressed my bad memories of CAMS because my time at CDMS has made my old school look like heaven by comparison. Adam thought with a deep frown. And I guess that I 'really' miss going to the same school with Kerry. She treated me like more of a real close friend than Jake ever did. Jake may have helped me on several occasions, but that doesn't change the fact that he still screws me over by the day's end.

Just thinking about Kerry caused Adam to take another drink of orange soda. It was a common fact that Kerry happens to be Adam's crush. Not to mention she was his childhood friend since they had been friends for their entire lives.

"I still wish that I went to Stinging Sensation with Kerry that one time to go paintballing," Adam muttered. "That would've been nice. It would've been so much better than having the guys sleepover at my house and ruin my date with her..."

After letting out a sigh, Adam decided to put his crush to the back of his mind and get started on his homework. The sooner he got that done, the sooner he could spend the rest of the night unwinding from the craziness that he puts up with at CDMS. And because there were a few hours left of daylight, that gave him plenty of time to get things all set with his homework. That was a guarantee...

LATER ON - 5:49 PM

Quite some time had passed since then, and Adam was just about caught up on his homework, or whatever he could understand. Afterwards, he put his school stuff back into his backpack, put it into his bedroom, and then decided to unwind a little.

Because his parents were always at work for a good portion of the day, and they couldn't cook without being tired, the Lyon family had settled on having frozen prepared dinners for meals as supper.

Adam was perfectly fine with having these kinds of meals for supper since he was too drained to cook anything by himself. And it was something for him to eat, especially on the days when his lunch was taken by Bull Sharkowski.

Dinner for him was nothing special in particular. And he managed to eat his dinner with no trouble at all. Afterwards, he thought about what he could do to unwind.

He had considered something like playing video games or reading some Captain Clowny, but he just wasn't in the mood for it. And because it was still light out for a little longer, he decided to sit outside, right on the step in front of the door.

While sitting there, he started to think about the rest of his small circle of animal friends that he associated with. They were certainly better friends than Jake was, but they were only marginally better since they also had no trouble with leaving Adam in the dust just like with Jake. However, they still considered Adam to be one of their friends and a part of the pack. And Adam's perspective of them differed on each of them individually.

First was Slips, whom he seldom interacts with, but it's clear that they're usually on good terms. Like Jake, Slips has made stupid comments and dumb decisions, but Adam doesn't seem to get as angry with him as he does with Jake. This is mainly because Slips's stupidity is a lot more harmless and Slips is more laid-back and less annoying to others, which Adam can appreciate at times.

One moment that stuck out in Adam's head was the time when Slips was shedding his skin for the first time. Granted, Adam was also a part of the insanity when the rest of the students thought that Slips' KKKCCCHK caused them to go through some changes. But Principal Pixiefrog managed to set things straight, and thanks to a short documentary, Adam and the rest of them realized that it's only natural. Otherwise, Slips hasn't caused any real problems with the only human student of CDMS.

Then there was Windsor Gorilla, who Adam has referred to as one of the smartest guys he knows. And because of this, he would often turn to Windsor for advice when it comes to fitting in with the rest of the students at CDMS.

And because Adam has the most common sense of all the students and faculty at CDMS, Windsor seeks help from Adam when a non-academic problem comes into play, whether it's emotional, psychological, or physical.

Indeed, Adam did help Windsor a couple of times, such as the time he got Teddy Truman off of his hand since the ventriloquist dummy was causing him to lose his marbles. The memory that stood out most for Adam was the time that NASA was looking for a special simian and Windsor volunteered because Jake refused to wear pants.

Of course, as it turns out, NASA was 'actually' MASA, which is an acronym for Most Amazing Simian Acrobats. And this didn't sit well with Adam since he was the one that got shot out of a cannon since he was small enough. But for the most part, they also seemed to be on good terms.

Lupe was slightly more complicated, as she was more of a mixed bag. While Adam would help her out whenever she needed it, Lupe was notorious for getting feisty and would try to attack someone who would get on her nerves. As such, Adam would usually have to hold her back before things get ugly.

Adam is also one of the few members of the pack (besides Windsor) who's been able to stay on Lupe's good side at all times, and not been the victim of her angry outbursts, with a few exceptions.

One of them was the time she attacked him when he was laughing at how Jake was imitating Kiki Von Beaky, followed by the human boy referring to her as an idiot. This resulted in the creation of the temporary United Species to keep Lupe from filing lawsuits against the school. It's this reason alone that results in Adam acknowledging the fact that Lupe can be dangerous when she's mad and wants to make sure he can keep her under wraps, concerned about the safety of others.

Adam still remembered how Lupe temporarily got hooked up with Orlando Parrot and everyone claimed that Adam got them together. But the truth was, it was merely accidental, and he had no idea of what was going on. Despite her outbursts, he remains on good terms with Lupe for the most part.

Lastly, there was Ingrid, whom Adam has to admit, has had the least casual interactions with her due to her meek personality. There have also been times when he was terrified by her insecurity and emotional outbursts.

He is also a little disturbed by her subtle gestures and advances, while at the same time, remains oblivious to the fact that she has feelings for him at all. Even though he'll talk down to her in a patronizing manner, he's merely doing this to spare her feelings since she's the weakest member of the pack. Then again, Adam wouldn't be the one to talk since he was also one of the weakest members of the pack; being the only human to attend the school.

And because he was nearly eaten alive daily, Adam feels like he isn't completely at odds against Ingrid, especially since she is nicer to him than Jake is. She is even aware that Adam is having trouble fitting in with the animal students at the school, and he appreciates the fact that she is somewhat merciful with him in that department.

He even remembered the time the school dance was being held, and Ingrid got wrapped up in Jake's plan to expose Kerry as a human just because Adam wouldn't go with him instead. Just recalling that incident was enough to get his blood to boil again.

"As if Jake being a jerk wasn't bad enough, he had to get Ingrid involved so he could ruin my date with Kerry," Adam said to himself, his anger rising. "All because Jake couldn't be happy for me, and I'm supposed to be his best friend. Some pal he is."

Adam felt his temper going through the roof, so he then stood up and started pacing. "The others are better friends to me than Jake is. At least they never joined the cool kids and call me Frank. Then again, they were all angry at me when I printed in the school paper how Jake has cheek implants...which turned out to be true. How was I supposed to know that? Jake never told me that personal secret. I was just upset that he kept writing lies about me in the paper!"

Adam didn't care if he was talking to himself or raising his voice. This has been bothering him for some time, and he had to get it off of his chest.

"But of course, I shouldn't put all the blame on Jake," Adam continued in a sarcastic tone. "I mean, who else was it that caused me to pay that hefty bill Principal Pixiefrog gave me when filberts and other nuts nobody likes were put into the macadamia can when I was in charge of the school's lookout tower? JAKE WAS, THAT'S WHO!"

Adam grumbled under his breath as he resumed his rant, not caring if anyone heard him. "Oh, and who could forget the time when Jake and Windsor left me hanging at the Sloppy Trough to pay off a bill of $596.78!? All Jake left me was a coupon that had expired! And I had to call my mom for help. All of this was an attempt to get Margaret Rhino, Latanya Hippo, and Joanie Ox to be friends again since they all thought I was asking them all out on a date at the Sloppy Trough because I got some facts wrong in our oral report. Which wouldn't have happened if Jake didn't give me incorrect information and placed all the blame on me when I only used what he gave me, that turned out to be FALSE!"

And to think of how much money I had to give to my mom for the glass door knobs that got broken when I dropped them. They cost more than $500,000 in cash, which included my allowance. Adam thought sadly. And while they got replacement glass door knobs, it came out of my allowance entirely, which I won't get more of for another 3 months. All thanks to Jake taking them from my house without even asking me about them.

Adam then gritted his teeth as he then remembered how he needed help to pass Feeding Frenzy class, and Bull Sharkowski had to tutor him. Jake was willing to sit back and eat some popcorn while he watched Adam potentially get beaten up by Bull, along with Windsor. Granted, he wasn't beaten up by Bull, and he did pass the next test thanks to an unexpected visit from Euripides, who was Bull's older sister. But it still left him feeling somewhat irate to see Jake seem eager to see him get pummeled.

"Some pal Jake turned out to be. And that's not counting his butt obsession, and the fact that his ideas get us into trouble. From playing hooky to getting us detention, and taking the fish tube to class. I wish I didn't allow him and the guys to sleep over at my house," Adam grumbled. "Even though the exchange program to my old school showed me that things weren't any better than they were at CDMS, one of the things that I do remember fondly from going to CAMS is hanging out with Kerry."

Adam took a deep breath before he continued, getting angrier by the second. "Kerry has always been a better friend to me than Jake is. Kerry has never thrown me under the bus, nor has she left me all alone to deal with a problem I didn't even start! I wish she went to the same middle school as me. Then I wouldn't have to be alone when it comes to dealing with all the madness I PUT UP WITH EVERY DAY!"

"Hey, what about me," a feminine voice wondered, which got Adam's attention. "What's going on?"

"Woah!" Adam jumped and flinched as he recognized that voice. That voice. It can't be...

"Hey, Adam."

Adam's anger completely diminished as he saw the source of the voice for himself. Just as he thought, it was revealed to be Kerry Anderson, who also happens to be his next-door neighbor.

Kerry was identified as having natural black hair, which she wears in a ponytail with a pink scrunchie. Her hair covers her right eye, which has never been seen, leading some people to believe she only has one eye. She also has dark skin, which is of Latino ethnicity. And she wears a midriff-baring pink top, blue capris, and black shoes.

Adam felt so humiliated right now. How much did Kerry hear? Did she hear enough from him? And was he ranting that loud to the point where she heard him? Whatever the reason, he had to compose himself and not act like he was ranting his head off. After gulping, he finally spoke up.

"Oh...H-Hiya Kerry," Adam said nervously. "I didn't see you there."

"Uh huh," Kerry then explained. "'Actually' Adam, I heard you yelling from next door, and it caught my attention."

"Oh..." Adam felt embarrassed as his cheeks turned red and he wanted to hide his face under his shirt.

Great. Now Kerry overheard me yelling. She probably thinks I'm a freak. Adam thought in dread. This is so humiliating...

"So Adam," Kerry walked over to him. "How have things been going for you?"

"Oh fine. Just fine," Adam lied to her. "Nothing has been going on."

"Really," she raised the eyebrow of her visible eye in suspicion. "Because you sounded pretty angry when you were yelling. Like something was bothering you."

"Oh, uh..." Adam started sweating as Kerry was now standing right in front of her.

"Also Adam, don't you think we should take this into your house," Kerry suggested. "I think everyone in the neighborhood heard you yelling, and I don't want us to make a scene."

"Really? You want to come into my house?" Adam wondered hopefully.

"Of course," Kerry said with a heartwarming smile. "After all, this is something that no one else should be eavesdropping on us."

"Right. Good point," Adam nodded as he rushed over to the door and opened it. "Uh...after you, Kerry..."

"Why thank you, Adam," Kerry thanked him as she walked into his house.

As soon as she was in the house, Adam rushed in after her, closed the door, and locked it up so no one else would know what was going on.

"Okay, Kerry. It's just you and me," Adam said rather awkwardly. "In my house. Together. Alone. Just you and me."

"Right," Kerry got back on topic. "So anyway Adam, what was bothering you that got you yelling like that?"

"I..." Adam frowned again as he hung his head in shame. "I don't want to talk about it..."

"Adam, come on," Kerry frowned and placed her hands on her hips. "I know you're trying to hide it. I mean, we've known each other for years. And you can trust me since we're close friends. You do trust me, don't you?"

"Of course, I trust you, Kerry," Adam said abruptly.

"Then what's wrong Adam? You can tell me," Kerry reassuringly encouraged him. "I will keep this a secret between us. I promise."

"Well..." Adam trailed when he saw how beautiful Kerry's face looked, which pretty much convinced him to come out. "I...I had a bad day at school today..."

"A bad day at school? What happened?" Kerry wondered as she took a seat on the couch.

"It's complicated," Adam said sadly while looking down at the floor. "Things have been rough for me the past couple of days, especially since I'm the only human who attends an animal school."

"Yeah, that animal school has been pretty tough on you," Kerry said. "I saw what it was like to be the only human at that school. I spent the day there as part of the school exchange program. Life isn't easy for you there."

"Tell me about it," Adam uttered. "I was hoping to spend the day at my old school since I wanted to spend the day with you."

"Believe me, Adam, I wanted to spend the day with you too," Kerry admitted.

"Well, I guess we think alike, even though we don't go to the same school anyway," Adam had a small smile on his face.

"We sure do," Kerry had a sly smirk as she patted the seat on her couch. "Now come over here and sit next to me and tell me what happened?"

"I...Oh, alright," Adam said as he slowly made his way to the couch and sat right next to his crush.

"Alright. Now let's start from the beginning, shall we," she encouraged him.

"Well..." Adam scooted over to sit close to Kerry in an awkward manner. "You remember when I told you how on Saturday, I was to take part in that charity drive that my school had issued for all of us to take part in?"

"Yeah. You told me it was mandatory," Kerry wasn't bothered that Adam decided to sit closer to her. "How did that go?"

"That's just it. Everything that could go 'horribly' wrong with it did go 'horribly' wrong," Adam told her.

"How did things go 'horribly' wrong for you?" Kerry asked.

"Uh, here's how it happened," Adam decided to start explaining to her.

And so Adam told her everything that had happened during that charity drive. From how Jake sabotaged their items, to how Principal Pixiefrog gave them both 3 days of detention with Adam getting the brunt of it for something Jake did. And then he told her about how he got beaten up for removing bubblegum from a couple's face and shaving their hair which had bubblegum wads stuck on it.

He also added how he needed help from a psychiatrist to help a woman suffering from ophidiophobia after Jake gave her a can with live snakes that popped out. And after that, he explained how he spent countless hours doing everything that a man who was traumatized by the sight of Jake's butt, and getting him to stop seeing those horrid images, while he ended up puking five times because of it.

Kerry was shocked by what she was hearing. How could Adam be put through all of that horrible stuff thanks to his so-called best friend? Then again, Kerry has heard from Adam about all of the bad stuff that happened to him, along with seeing some of the craziness that he puts up with daily. Still, this came as a surprise to her.

"...and so I was made into a laughing stock today because of what happened," Adam wrapped things up. "Students pelted me with garbage, tomatoes, rocks, and even animal droppings. I was able to shower before gym class, but it doesn't change the fact that these past three days have been the worst days of my life."

Kerry was speechless for a moment or so once Adam finally finished. She was then able to find her voice. "Wow, Adam. I...I didn't know that happened to you. I'm sorry that you were put through all that."

"It's okay Kerry," Adam had a sad tone in his voice. "I've been put through so much since I was transferred into that school."

"No worries. I'm not upset," Kerry was understanding of his predicament. "It's not any different than seeing you naked on TV when I had some friends come over to my house."

"Oh right," Adam's cheeks flushed when he remembered that. "Because Zira Cornelius wanted to do a documentary at my school, and she wanted to focus her attention on me since I looked like a three-eyed creep. Didn't help that I had a bad start to my day."

"Is that why you turned down my offer to hang out that day? Was it because you were embarrassed by what had happened to you?"

"Well, I, uh...kinda. Yes. I just wanted to hang low, since I didn't want to appear on live TV looking like...THAT! But of course, Jake threw me under the bus and filmed me in the locker room for her, while I was naked. I-I'm sorry that you had to see that Kerry..."

"Hey, don't sweat it. It's all cool," Kerry assured him. "I'm not upset, or offended by seeing you naked on TV. I know it wasn't your fault."

"You mean that?" Adam gave her a hopeful look when he asked that.

"Sure. It was a situation that you didn't want to be in," Kerry told him calmly. "Besides, it's not the first time I've seen you do something so embarrassing. Remember how you wet your pants in the 1st during your 6th birthday party?"

"R-Right," Adam stuttered. "And then the same thing happened during my last birthday party. O-Only I accidentally splashed grape soda on my pants, making it look like I wet myself..."

"I know you didn't wet yourself. You got spooked and the grape soda hit your pants," Kerry proclaimed. "Plus your animal friends seem cool. And to tell you the truth, it was kinda fun spending time with you on your birthday in the supply closet. With your animal friends, that is."

It 'really' did feel like seven minutes in heaven when Kerry and I spent time together in the closet. Adam had to shake that dirty thought from his head as he then decided to comment again. "Yeah. That was better than being made fun of by Chad when it looked like I wet my pants, and then I ended up crying afterwards."

"Uh-huh. That wasn't very nice of Chad," Kerry frowned upon remembering that.

"Yes. Thanks for standing up for me when he put me down like that," Adam thanked her, albeit reluctantly and hesitantly.

"Anytime Adam," she smiled again. "You can count on me to help you with anything that's bothering you."

"I know," Adam felt a slightly goofy grin growing on his face. "Still, I get this feeling that my animal friends don't want to see me happy. Or see me enjoying human activities."

"I see," Kerry said awkwardly before bringing up something else. "You know, I seriously was hoping that you would have spent some time with me at Stinging Sensation to go paintballing."

"So did I," Adam felt a hint of frustration from that. "And I told Jake and the guys that I didn't want them sleeping over my house, and that I wanted to turn in early so I could spend time with you playing paintball the following day."

"Yeah. I was hoping that you wouldn't have overslept," Kerry said meekly. "I didn't plan on bringing your friend Jake with me."

"And yet you grabbed his hand five times at Stinging Sensation," Adam muttered under his breath. If one were to listen to his tone, one could notice a hint of jealousy in his voice.

"Oh cheer up," Kerry exclaimed. "There was no one else that I would've wanted to go there with besides you."

Adam was a little shocked by that comment, and he then uttered. "Wait, you mean...?"

"I had given you that invitation because I wanted you to accompany me," Kerry explained. "I didn't invite anyone else to join me that day since I wanted the two of us to hang out somewhere. We haven't hung out that often since you were transferred to that animal school, so I wanted us to catch up on some stuff."

"Wow. N-Now that you mention it, that sounds so cool," Adam admitted with a rather dreamy tone. "I would've loved that."

"Me too Adam," she agreed with him with an awkward tone. "If you had come along for the fun that is."

"Yeah," Adam frowned again. "At least I was able to get you to come to the school dance with me on that Saturday night...even though it didn't turn out the way I hoped..."

"Yeah," Kerry said slowly before she gave him a suspicious look and crossed her arms. "I did find it rather odd that you wanted me to dress like a giraffe when all the other students are already animals."

"Uh look Kerry, I'll admit, I was a big idiot for believing Jake when he was 'clearly' tricking me into not bringing you as yourself," Adam admitted. "But it was also Jake's fault for not wanting me to be happy and bring my close human friend with me to the school dance, and he acted like a big jerk."

"Well, if it helps, the dance wasn't too bad," Kerry uttered. "I mean, Lupe and Ingrid seem pretty nice."

"I...I guess they can be," Adam pulled on his shirt collar before clearing his throat. "Uh, Kerry? I'm 'really' sorry for putting you through all of that."

"Hey, don't worry about it, Adam. You only wanted to take me to your school dance and you got desperate," Kerry exclaimed. "I'm not upset about it. I still had a great time there."

"Oh, well, that's good I guess," Adam sighed. "Still, I've been put into alot of positions since I've been at CDMS. They do some weird things at my school."

"I don't think it's that weird," Kerry told him. "I was surprised that you took part in your school's cheerleading squad."

"I wasn't given much of a choice," he moaned. "I was forced into joining the Jungle Squad..."

"Oh...well, I thought it was nice for you to try new things," she said slowly. "Not to mention that you are a really good dancer."

"Well, I guess I was surprised by that too," Adam chuckled nervously before frowning again. "I also made quite a big fool out of myself when I had thought that Jackie was 'actually' Jake in drags."

"Yeah. That wasn't very nice of you," Kerry frowned. "Though I shouldn't be talking, since she wasn't any better."

"Uh huh," Adam rubbed his arm shyly. "I...I sorta found it harsh that she was willing to...k-kick you off your cheerleading squad if you talked with me again, even though we're 'actually' friends..."

"Well, that's true," Kerry had to admit with a stern face. "And she did send you flying too..."

Uh, Kerry? I-I don't wanna be...reminded of that," Adam begged, sounding a bit upset.

"Fair enough," Kerry accepted his request. "But you know something, Adam? We've known each other since we were babies. Ever since we spent our first Thanksgiving together at my house. And from everything that I remember about you, despite your more embarrassing moments, I think you are a 'really' cool guy. Way cooler than Chad."

"You mean that?" Adam queried with a hopeful tone.

"Sure I do," Kerry said with a smile. "Even though you never got the part as Jungle Guy in the school play at CDMS, I still think that you would've made a perfect Jungle Guy."

"Yeah. I guess I would've," Adam felt something spark inside of him. "'Actually', there are a lot of things that I see myself doing when I grow up. I think that I could end up making something of myself, despite being enrolled at an animal school. I can even see myself driving a wicked cool car when I get my driver's license."

"Hey, Adam? The day that I saw you and Jake in front of the 24/7 gas station convenience store, do you remember that mustache you had on?" Kerry asked. "And the cool-looking car that you two were standing on?"

"Uh yeah. But you see, that wasn't my mustache," Adam admitted shamefully. "It was Jake's. Except it wasn't, 'cause it was 'actually' a caterpillar that crawled onto Jake's lip while he was sleeping."

"So that would explain why your mustache turned into a butterfly before we...well...you know," Kerry stopped herself before asking. "And I suppose that wasn't your car either."

"No, it wasn't," Adam nodded, noticing that Kerry stopped short with her comment, but didn't bring it up. "Jake got it from someone after getting that mustache. He didn't tell me since I wasn't in the Mustache Lodge. After he lost the mustache, he gave it away to someone else, who I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up in a junkyard somewhere."

"Right," Kerry raised her eyebrows and frowned before asking. "So why did you tell me that that was your mustache and your car when it 'really' wasn't?"

"Oh, well, you see...I...I..." Adam hesitated in answering. "I-I guess something in me turned on when you said that I had a nice mustache... And when you asked me if that was my car, that something in me went into overdrive and I couldn't stop myself. I...I guess I just wanted to impress you and make you think that I was cool if I revealed that it was my mustache and car..."

"So that's why you were acting like that?" Kerry was shocked. "Because you just wanted to impress me?"

"Uh huh...I-I hope you don't think I'm being a humongous creep or anything Kerry..." Adam said with a whining tone as he was shaking and sweat was pouring down from his forehead.

For a minute or so, Kerry stared at him in shock, silence clouding the both of them as Adam kept shaking with his eyes close. It looked as if one could almost see Kerry's other eye from underneath her bangs. Then again, she shouldn't be surprised, considering all the times Adam tried acting cool around her, which usually lead to him being embarrassed.

After staying silent for a minute, Kerry couldn't help herself and started laughing at this. This got Adam confused as he stopped shaking and opened his eyes to see his crush chuckling at what he just told her.

"Uh...I don't get it," Adam raised an eyebrow. "What's so funny?"

"Oh, you are Adam," she laughed.

"Huh?"

"Let me rephrase that," Kerry decided to elaborate as she slowly stopped laughing. "What's funny is that you act cool just to impress me, which was never really necessary in the first place."

"What do you mean?" Adam wondered.

"Oh come on Adam. Don't act like I've never noticed it before," Kerry told him with a smirk on her face. "You wet your pants in the first grade. You puked on my lap in the third grade. You had worn only your underwear in public on several occasions, especially when I saw you practicing to be Jungle Guy. And you made me wear a giraffe costume just so you could bring me to the school dance."

"Okay. What's your point, Kerry?" Adam questioned, slightly embarrassed by that stuff being brought up.

"My point is I already thought that you were cool the way you are. I wouldn't think any less of you. And besides," Kerry then scooted a little closer to Adam so he could see her face. "I kinda like you too Adam."

"Oh...Well," Adam gulped as he uttered. "That's a good thing to know Kerry."

"It sure is," Kerry then gave him space while she still sat next to him. She then thought for a moment before she decided to share something with Adam. "You know Adam, there is something that I've been thinking about?"

"What would that be?"

"About the Debutante Ball that's coming up, at Chester Arthur Middle School," she explained. "And I was wondering if you would like to come along with me and be my partner for the dance."

"Wuh," Adam was dumbfounded by what she was offering him. She was inviting him to be her partner at his old school for the debutante ball, which almost sounded like it was a date.

"I mean, I would ask someone else, but I don't think there is anyone else that would want to be my partner anyway," Kerry told him. "Plus, I attended your school dance. So I was hoping that the least you could do is..."

"Of course, I will go to the debutante dance with you Kerry," Adam said abruptly while keeping her from finishing her sentence.

"You sure? I don't want to cause too much pressure on you," Kerry remarked.

"Oh yeah," he waved his hand, not sounding worried at all. "You said it's in the middle of this school year, right?"

"Yeah," she nodded. "It'll be on the same night that we have our midterms. And I suppose they have midterms at your animal school, don't they?"

"Oh, sure. Of course, they have midterms at CDMS," he proclaimed. "Let's just hope that these mid-terms don't fry my brain, to the point where I start acting feral. That would be seriously embarrassing if I acted like a wild boy."

"Uh-huh. That would be embarrassing," Kerry tugged on her ponytail for a brief second. "But after we settle on having a steak dinner, I'll be sure we do the slow dance together."

"Yeah. That would be lovely," Adam sounded like he was completely lovestruck from thinking about that before he spoke normally. "But please make sure that nobody thinks I brought fleas to the dance since I go to an all-animal school."

"Don't worry. I'll make sure of it," she promised him.

"Sweet," he smiled. "Hey. You know, spring break is coming soon."

"Oh, don't I know it," she decided to ask him. "Do you have plans for spring break?"

"Well, uh, I was planning on going to..." Adam struggled before he whispered. "Beulah, North Dakota."

"Wait, did you say, Beulah North Dakota?" Kerry asked, to which Adam nodded. "Ain't that a coincidence? I'll be heading to Beulah over spring break too. You know, we should 'totally' hang out together."

"Oh yes..." Adam muttered in a dazed state.

"Hey, are you planning on going to the Captain Clowny Super Cool Space Circus amusement park that had opened up there?"

"Huh? W-What do you mean? W-W-Why would I go to Captain Clowny Super Cool Space Circus amusement park?" Adam pretended to be dumb.

"Oh come on Adam. I know how much of a fan you are of Captain Clowny," she shared with him. "Why, when we were in kindergarten, you would do nothing but tell everyone in our class that you love Captain Clowny and why he's so awesome. You even talked about going to clown college when you grow up. Heck, you're the reason why I happen to be a fan of Captain Clowny."

Kerry is a fan of Captain Clowny? Adam thought as his face was bright red from embarrassment as she remembered that.

"Oh cheer up Adam. I was planning on going to Captain Clowny Super Cool Space Circus amusement park when I get to Beulah too. No need to be embarrassed. I know you have a Captain Clowny utility belt. And guess what? I have one too," she assured him. "We can wear our Captain Clowny utility belts together when we get there too."

"I would love that Kerry. Gosh, I feel better already," Adam uttered in amazement. "Me. Kerry. Deulah. Captain Clowny. Hot tub. Best spring break ever."

"Uh, I sure would hope so," Kerry said awkwardly. "And I'm glad that your feeling better."

"Me too. Thanks, Kerry," Adam smiled. "I 'really' needed to get all of this off of my chest."

"It's my pleasure, Adam," Kerry remarked. "And anytime you want to talk to somebody about how your school has been treating you rough, you know where to find me. I'm just right next door from your place."

"I know. And I'll certainly keep it in mind," Adam nodded. "So, now what?"

"Well, I don't have to be home for a couple of hours or so," Kerry suggested. "And we have the house to ourselves for a bit. So maybe we could do something together."

"Uh, what should we do together?" Adam had to ask.

"Well, let's see," she then suggested. "We could always just chill out in the living room. Maybe watch TV or read Captain Clowny comic books together."

"Really? I would love to do that," Adam seemed to have brightened up when he thought about it.

"Great. Why don't we get started before I have to head back?" Kerry told him.

"You betcha," Adam got up in a determined manner. "I'll go get my Captain Clowny comic books from my bedroom."

"And I'll turn on the TV and wait for you to come back," Kerry smirked as she grabbed the TV remote.

"Right. Be right back," and with that, he raced up the stairs to get his Captain Clowny comic books, while Kerry waited and turned the TV on.

Wow. That Adam is such a guy. I always did liked him since we were babies. Kerry thought with a smile as she then sighed. Maybe I should convince him to take me to a Jiminy Japoopy concert next time there is one nearby...

It didn't take longer than a couple of minutes for Adam to come back downstairs with a stack of his Captain Clowny comic books. And judging by the smile on his face, he was eager to get started.

"Alright, Kerry. Here they are," Adam announced. "All 32 volumes of my Captain Clowny comic book collection."

"Sweet," Kerry smiled as Adam went over and placed the comic books on the table. "We can get started right away."

"I couldn't agree more," Adam plopped right next to Kerry on the couch. "And even with the madness that I was put through these past couple of days, I wouldn't have missed this moment for anything."

"Me either," Kerry grabbed a comic book and got herself comfortable along with Adam.

They didn't say anything else as they started reading comic books together while the TV was running. This was going to be an interesting evening for Adam Lyon...

MUCH LATER ON - 7:59 PM

Eventually, the end of the day came, and it was about time for Kerry to head back home. She had a fun night with Adam, whether they were talking or reading comic books. She hadn't spent time with Adam like this in ages. She 'really' hoped they could do this more often, without anything getting in the way.

"Well Adam, tonight's been eventful," Kerry smiled as she opened the front door. "I had a lot of fun tonight."

"Me too Kerry," Adam smiled. "We should do this more often."

"I'll say," Kerry stepped outside and walked away from the house. "Well, goodnight Adam."

"Yeah. Goodnight Kerry," Adam waved farewell to her as he watched her walk off. Once she was out of sight, he closed the door behind him. "Well, guess I better put all of my Captain Clowny comic books back into my room."

And that's exactly what Adam did as he took his comic books back up to his bedroom, making sure the TV was off before he did so, which it was. Adam then decided to get ready to turn in for the night since its a school night. Tomorrow would be better for him, that's for sure...

END OF CHAPTER 3...

Well, that's it for this chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it, even with how long it took for me to write this chapter out.

Now, I have no idea where this story is going to go next since I'm unsure how things will continue from here. I am, however, planning on using Kerry more, since she's a character that I wish was used more often in the show. With that said it'll take more time to come up with how the next chapter will go. So you'll have to be patient until then.

For now, if you'd like to leave a review for this chapter, you are more than welcome to do so. And I'll think about how the next chapter will go.

Otherwise, I have nothing else to say here. So until the next chapter, I do hope you'll tune in again. And thanks for reading everyone!
