Hello everyone, it's me, your good friend Bob.
I bring you all chapter 2 of this story.
I hope you like it.
Just one more warning before we begin this story.
Well actually two.
More like three
The first one is: I'm sorry for any spelling mistakes my story may have, or any other kind of mistake for that matter. English is not my native language, so I miss mistranslations or way of putting certain things already when translating them to English.
Second, in this story I will try to write romance, I am a novice writer, and this would be the first story where I will include romance, obviously romance is not the focus in this story, but I am just warning you.
If I see that writing this romance is not my thing, I leave it and, in the end, I leave it without romance.
Third, I will use some Glyphs from my cover image (cover image from ExperimetJr from reddit, all credit of the image to him), but only some, which in this case would be invocation/abomination, Earth, Lightning and Healing, all the other I won't use: curse, darkness, maybe teleportation (not sure yet), Clairvoyance, maybe illusion (not sure too) and death, since I don't really see any use for them (nothing that a good combination of Glyphs can't do).
In the original series there were only four main Glyphs, and the other spells could be done with a combination of these four, these Glyphs that I am including have their reason, but it will be seen later.
Well, that's all, leave your reviews and I'll be glad to read them.
Now let's get started.

[name of the Glyph, spell or something used]
It's been a week since I got out of that hellish prison and I'll be honest, it wasn't easy.
At least the first 2 days.
The first night I didn't sleep at all, I lay on the tree branch until I realized that I had left my sword in the establishment where we were created, so I tried to go back to retrieve it.
It took me all night to get back to the facility, I almost died about 2 times, but I made it.
I check my cell, where I had left it and... I found nothing.
Someone, whoever attacked this place, took my sword! Sure, I only had it for about a week, but still!
I looked everywhere but it looks like whatever weapons were in this place were taken, not that there was much.
On the plus side, I did get some money left here, I think the currency was called Snails around here, some blank papers and pencils.
Fun fact, in the brief time I've been here, I've noticed that the technology here varies between the middle ages and the modern age.
For example, they have medieval weapons, such as swords, spears, mallets, crossbows and even catapults, of course they work with magic but still.
But they also have: cell phones, rockets, pencils, pens (in the Middle Ages they used literal pens to write, that's why I classify this as modern age), they even had TV programs!
How did I find out about this? A little bit from my memories I have of my past and a little trip to the library, but I'll talk about that later.
Anyway, after I got back, I counted my money and realized that I had about 12 000 Snails, five thousand Snails that I stole from people in town (my ability to change shapes comes in handy) and seven thousand Snails that were in the store.
I don't know exactly how the economy works here but I should be able to survive at least for a while.
(NA: If anyone has any ideas on how exactly the economy works in this universe, I'd be happy to hear them, for now, I'll do it randomly).
That is, if I don't spend a lot of money.
But she could also survive by selling fire bee honey wholesale, yes, that's also a thing here, in fact, it's one way Eda makes money here.
And yes, she is still considered a criminal here, although the term "wild witch" is apparently used to name "criminals" who are not really criminals.
Rare terminology.
I think I'm getting too far ahead of myself, so I'll start by talking about the city (town?), Bonesborough.
It is practically the same as the city presented on TV, but with a statue of belos in the middle of the city.
And I'm not referring to the statue that was presented in season 2, but one of belos raising a palisman staff of a deer in symbol of victory, it also had an inscription that read, "Emperor belos, the man who enlightened us in our darkest hour."
Which made me very curious, so I went to the library to investigate, where I came across a problem that was very easily solved, although it took some time.
Apparently, in order for me to read the books the library has to offer and see the orbs things that serve as television and computers in this place, I needed a membership card.
That to acquire it he needed to have a birth certificate, parental authorization, and money, 10 Snails to be more precise.
The latter was easy to fix, but how the heck did he tell the librarian who looked like he didn't want to be here that he didn't have any of the first two?
Apparently, by simply telling him.
Without finding a viable excuse to use I felt so disappointed in myself I decided to tell my "situation" to the librarian.
Story time! I told her that I was a child raised by two parents who were ruthless witches who did not register me in the system so they could use me in their misdeeds and that I escaped after they were caught.
And it worked! Crazy.
Apparently, it wasn't the first time it had happened, it's not common by any means but it happens more often than people would expect.
He took me to his boss, the scary yet lovable guy who spends most of his time in the secret library, it took him only 30 minutes to log me into the system, 30 minutes!
If only things were that easy in my previous life...
Well, let's not think about that.
Anyway, 45 minutes after I arrived at the library, I had my membership ready to use.
And I did a lot of research.
I first checked to see if Glyphs were by any chance common in this universe and luckily, they were not, in fact, there was no information of any kind on Glyphs, which was comforting to know.
Second, I looked for more changes to see what might be different and didn't find much, Edalyn Clawthorne was still considered a "wild" witch, which apparently is the term used for criminal witches who are dangerous but not really (I mean, although Eda is powerful, as long as you don't mess with them you won't get hurt and also she hasn't murdered anyone), Lilith Clawthorne was still the head of the coven of the emperor.
Everything was fine up to that point.
Then I came across a picture of Emperor Belos and Bat Queen shaking "hands".
Yes, if I had had a drink at the time, I definitely would have spit it out.
Apparently, belos and Bat Queen are friends in this timeline, and they signed a treaty where belos would help protect the palismans (I don't know how to say it in plural) from bad owners and people who want to harm them, in exchange for Bat Queen letting people have palismans, give people a chance to be good owners.
That was 45 years ago, and the contract is still active.
Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary, just that belos has a wife.
Empress Yimitra.
There is no history of how they met, it is only known that he helped belos in the dark times and a few days after belos came to power.
She doesn't seem to have the same political power that belos has, but her voice still carries weight and when Emperor belos leaves the castle for x or y reason, she is in charge.
Although she does not seem to be as well liked as belos, being seen as more tyrannical than belos, while belos is seen as a "ruler with a plush fist", being that he sees his orders as absolute but seems to leave certain loopholes in his own laws.
I did not investigate in depth but there seems to be some leeway in case to avoid paying taxes, not completely but there they are.
Third, for what I came for, I researched about the history of belos and it was interesting, there is no history of his past, it is only known that he lived in the countryside but by wild witches he was oppressed and sought safety for his people.
Apparently, about one hundred years ago, the wild witches, a term used for witches who are, let's face it, wild (literally) were a group of witches who caused chaos and destruction wherever they went and since at that time there was no penal system or anything like that, it was an "everyone for themselves" rule.
Until belos arrived and he and a group of formidable witches destroyed the wild witches and he rose as emperor to protect his people.
The people of Bonesborough love him, adore him even.
They believe he was sent by the titan to save them from that dark period that ended some 65 years ago.
It was... interesting.
I also did some research to see when the next semester of Hexside starts and it is next month.
Odds of me being in the generation of Gus, Amity, Boscha and Willow: 50/50.
I still have no idea what time I am, I could be of the generation older than them.
Well, we just need to find out.
And that was my adventure on the second day of my freedom.
Oh, I also saw Eda selling human scrap at the market, she looks just like the series depicted her, only her hair is completely orange.
It almost makes me want to go with her, to be taken in and mentored by her, but I can't.
For several reasons, actually, but let's leave it at that would mean putting up with Hooty and I'm not ready yet.
I sold a few cups of fire bee honey to some potion stores, earning about 750 more Snails and went to live in the forest.
At night I did nothing, I managed to find a tree where I slept and slept that night like a baby.
Until noon the following morning.
I was REALLY tired.
The rest of the week I established a routine.
7 am to 11:30 am, bath, breakfast, experimenting with Glyphs.
From 12 pm to 1 pm, I went and tried to tame fire bees, failing (mostly), and getting their honey, by the way, there I discovered the fire and plant Glyph.
From 1:15 pm to 3:30 pm, keep a cup of honey and sell the rest, buy a few things and have lunch.
From 4 pm to 7 pm, spend time studying in the library or just enjoy my time in the library.
From 8 pm to 9 pm, steal using my transformation skill.
I had to feed off the magic of some poor demon hunters I found in the woods from time to time but fuck them, so they wouldn't dare mistake me for a demon when I'm clearly disguised as an innocent witch.
I had to change my appearance about 5 times because of that encounter.
My current appearance is... something, you might say.
My skin color is light brown, I'm about 6'2" tall (I'm a tall mom), rainbow eyes (douma-like), clothes, a long bright purple skirt with black tights, a red t-shirt with long black sleeves, pretending I have a second t-shirt underneath and long blue-green braided hair.
Honestly, I like the look, I may have to move to the city if I want to keep it.
Anyway, the rest of the nights I also experimented with the Glyphs, but since I didn't have a home, I didn't do much.
And that was my week, it wasn't as exciting the rest of the days, but I had fun.
I focused on mastering the basics of the 5 Glyphs I have, so far, they seem to be the primary ones and do exactly what was shown in the series.
The Glyph of light generated small orbs of light.
Plant Glyph generated plant (duh)
The fire Glyph generated a small flame.
Ice Glyph generated smell (duh again).
The Earth Glyph helped me manipulate the earth but unlike the others, this one could not create its element out of nothing, it needed direct contact with the earth.
Maybe with a combination of Glyphs you can do it? It would have to be verified.
Although my first goal is to get into Hexside school and maybe get me a house, I don't know how expensive it will be.
Maybe I should steal in the morning as well.
I also have to move.
Ugh, things are complicated when you don't have a home.
Hopefully moving will fix things, if only a little.
Good news, moving has solved a lot of things.
Bad news, I kind of hate the location of where I live now.
Let me give you context, the day after the last thing I said I had to move to the city, as you know, and I had to sleep that night on a bench.
As fate would have it, I came across with the coven head of the construction coven, Mason.
Actually, it was very lucky that he found me, although it's not like I was sleeping in an alley or anything, in fact, I was sleeping on the bench in front of the statue of belos.
I thought it was stupid, but I didn't have much choice, then this Mason guy found me, I was upset at the time and didn't recognize him (rather, I didn't know him, he wasn't really relevant to the story), I wanted to get even and told him all my housing problems at the time.
And he built me a house.
Right there.
I just called someone, they brought him bricks and other things to make constructions (toilets and stuff) and a few meters away near the statue of belos he made my house.
Free of charge.
I didn't have to pay him anything.
Which was great, in fact, I think I cried a little when I thanked him, I wasn't expecting this gesture of goodwill from, well, anyone.
We actually kept in touch after that, apparently, he cared about me or something, which is nice of him.
The only bad thing was the location.
I was in the center of the city, in one of the busiest places in this place, being the only house in a place full of establishments.
It was weird, a good place but at the same time a bad place.
On the positive side, I have no neighbors, no one else lives around here, everything is full of establishments.
On the negative side, it is very noisy at rush hour.
Another downside, door-to-door salesmen.
Being the only house in this place, several people tried to sell me their stuff at any given time.
It was annoying but useful at the same time.
But more annoying.
Even Eda wanted to rip me off as soon as she saw that someone was living here.
I was locked in my house that day, I had bought a cauldron to practice my potions and I had bought a few books in the library on potions.
Getting the materials for some of them is difficult, so I don't practice them, for now I focus on potions for novices.
Anyway, I was practicing to make an explosive potion when I heard a knock on the door.
I went to tend and there was Eda Clawthorne, who, on closer inspection, looked quite similar to how she looked in the series.
She is a tall woman, almost as tall as me, around about 176 meters, wearing her typical two-tone sleeveless brown dress with a ripped hem design and gray tights, her typical jewelry.
The only thing different is that her long hair is bright orange.
Is she dyeing her hair? She still has the curse, if her gold medallion with blackened parts in the middle of his clothes is any indication.
Will her curse act differently? Different effects?
She doesn't have the wrinkles either, so who knows.
Anyway, she tried to sell me human scrap, which was of no use to me, so I had to turn her down.
After that she left, although I did get a good look at her sales booth and got a good look at King, who looked exactly the same as he did in the original series, so all good so far.
Then I went back inside and the potion exploded in my face.
What a time.
Anyway, I tell you about my progress with the Glyphs.
And in general, it goes well.
Playing- ahem I mean, practicing with the Glyphs gave me a good idea of how the Glyphs work.
As everyone knows, Glyphs function as a conductor for the mana that circulates in the air, transforming said mana into spells.
The main Glyphs, which in this world are 7: earth, fire, plants, Lightning, abomination, ice, and light, are the basic spells.
Ice and earth raise a kind of small platform, the bigger the Glyph, the bigger the platform.
Plant creates from creepers to plants, depending on the use to which it is put, although it is more common to produce creepers.
Lightning has several uses, on the one hand, if I use it like any other Glyph, it creates a ray that goes in a straight line, on the other hand, if I hit someone, they are electrocuted.
I discovered this Glyph by chance, if I'm honest, along with the Glyph of abomination.
I was at the coliseum... oh wait, I didn't tell them about the coliseum, the coliseum is a place where witches who have a certain grudge or just want to fight or for who knows what other reason, can have a witch duel without having to worry about property damage.
And it's quite common for people to fight around here and settle it in the coliseum.
Although it is actually more common for people around here to use it simply to fight for fun.
Anyway, sometimes I go to the coliseum and record the fights to see if there are any other Glyphs I haven't found.
So, I saw that there are no Glyphs for illusion, beast tamer, Clairvoyance and I found these two Glyphs, Lightning, and abomination.
Abomination is also an interesting Glyph, the bigger the Glyph, the bigger the slime that comes out, I think if I make a Glyph combination of abomination, I can make a real abomination next time.
Light, as you know, creates an orb of light, the larger the Glyph, the more it will illuminate.
I have practiced with these Glyphs, to master them and get the most out of them.
I've been using the Ice Glyph a lot, mainly because I have to hunt fire bee honey.
I'm also continuing to see if I can tame the fire bees, and I'm getting results!
They no longer attack me in plain sight and now, they let me drink their honey if I ask nicely!
Almost begging, but it's progress!
I am now a few days away from the start of testing for Hexside.
I got my uniform... no, I didn't steal it, I just took it off some crazy guy who was screwing with me, anyway, and I managed to simulate a... human/witch "naked" form to put on my clothes.
It was weird, weird as hell to do it and putting clothes back on was also weird.
But necessary.
I need the uniform so that when Bumps changes the color of said uniform it doesn't look weird that my skin doesn't change to his liking.
Also, the school uniform is fine.
I have also practiced the Glyphs combos a bit to see what I can achieve.
I have found (or would be more like rediscovered) the combo of invisibility Glyphs, mist, Safety Hover, some ice sculpts, earth and managed to make a full abomination.
Oh, maybe I should explain to them how the abomination Glyph works.
And indeed, it is interesting how it works.
You know how at the beginning of the series it was emphasized that you had to have pre-made material to make abominations? and how later it became clear that it wasn't really necessary?
Well, something like that works, the pre-made material is mainly for witches' beginners in the art of abomination, and in fact, it is practically a first-year requirement to master doing it with pre-made material, which as the year progresses has less and less materials, and then move on to summoning it with your magic.
Abomination's intermediate and advanced magic works by summoning and fusing materials out of thin air, sometimes simple earth or even your own magic to summon it.
I think you know what I'm getting at but it's simple, abomination's simple Glyph works by using the magic (or mana, whatever you want to call it) of the environment or the titan, I'm still debating with that, generating a little mus or whatever the material they're made of is.
The simple Glyph of abomination can be used for a few things, generate some mus and control the abomination.
In order to create a complete and perfect abomination, you need a combo of the exact same Glyph, it needs to be a giant circle (or not, depending on the size you want to give it, but if you want it to be of a good size, it has to be a big circle) in the four corners and in the center of the circle have abomination Glyphs of the same size, neither one can be bigger than the other or it will have a bad formation.
Honestly, it wasn't that hard to figure out, a lot of experimentation more than anything but I got it.
In fact, I first figured out how to make an abomination sword before making a full abomination.
I also discovered the storage spell that witches use (sort of).
This one was less simple than it looks, even though all witches use it, although it is transportable.
It is a circle that must have on the right side and in the center a Glyph of light of the same size, on the left side three Glyphs of light of smaller size on the entire left side.
It was hard to get it, and in fact I have no idea where it sends my stuff, but it's progress.
And in fact, the abomination Glyph I have a theory that I can also use it for beast tamer magic.
This is because I have already been able to tame the fire bees, in a way.
They already allow me to pet them, spend time with them without being harmed, among other things.
So, one day I was thinking about a Glyph combination that would allow me to use it to summon bees or control them.
Then I typed the Glyph of abomination but I did it backwards, pressed it and it glowed orange for a few moments but nothing else happened.
It is missing something, a key piece to summon the beasts.
And I have a feeling it has to do with discovering the combo for teleportation.
And I don't mean the teleportation that Philip used in the past, there must be something else I'm missing.
Ugh, maybe there's a hidden Glyph that I haven't discovered yet? Could be, but I have no proof.
I need to experiment more, but I can't.
It is time to sleep.
And prepare for the Hexside test.
Well, here I am.
Hexside.
It didn't take me long to get here, I had already explored and memorized Hexside thanks to my thefts.
I could see some students walking to the test but I aparted from the view, I didn't want spoilers after all.
I took a deep breath and prepared to go inside, when I felt a hand touch my shoulder, and it was Mason!
I looked at him in surprise and couldn't help but ask "Mason, why are you here, don't you have a job as the coven head of the construction coven?"
He looked at me and laughed a little and then patted me on the head and said, "What, and miss your first day, not at all kiddo?"
Yes, as you can see, in the short time we kept in touch, we became close.
I went in and, my God, there were a lot of people, children with their parents.
Apparently, Hexside tests are very important, although only if they are when they are starting out and not to those who join in second semester and so on.
Now I will feel guilty for taking away her surprise factor, so I will use the two Glyphs that she didn't use or rather didn't know in her early days when he presented for his Hexside exam, plants and fire.
They don't go together at all, but that's something.
I sat with the crowd, being the only girl without parents by her side, if not with a coven head, we drew a little attention, but not much.
The tests were a bit boring, but I was able to confirm that I was in the generation of Amity, Willow, Gus and Boscha, also Skara, Viney and the other secondary people around here that I don't remember their names.
It feels a little wrong to call them that, because I probably am too, if my plan to involve myself as little as possible with the plot turns out to be possible.
...what? Did they really think I was going to get involved in the plot? Not if I can, I will have a minimal participation, if possible, only revealing to Luz Glyphs anonymously but other than that, nope.
Finally, it was my turn, and I did some simple things, I used a fire Glyph to throw some fireballs and used it in my hand to make a small flamethrower and used the plant Glyph to create a flower boutique.
The crowd applauded and seemed to be amazed at what he had done, ah and Mason had a proud smile on his face.
I went back to my seat and thought I was the last one, so everyone was finished.
So, we all left.
I turned to Mason to say goodbye to him.
He smiled and said goodbye to me.
I went to home and smiled.
I entered Hexside.
Yay me!
And well, that's it.
Any error you saw tell me, i will corrige them.
I hope you liked it, see you later, bye.
