Gaara, Desert Spirit of Remnant

Gaara was callef many names. One tailed Jinchuriki, Kazekage. But when push comes to shove, Gaara was alealys there to help those in need. However, after a incident with another dimension, Gaara finds himself accidentally launched into a new world, one where he could be it's last hope. Here, through his adventures, he shall be known as the Deseet Spirit of Remnant. BTW no harems.

3. Encounters

Ruby's smile of excitement could have never been described with words. She looked up with ecstasy as she heard Ozpin call up the names for one of the teams.

"Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. Russel Thrush. The four of you returned the black bishop pieces, and so from this day forward, you shall be working together as team CRDL (Cardinal). You shall be led by Carden Winchester."

A round of applause went up as the four boys gave a respectful nod to the headmaster and exited the stage.

After the four left, Jaune, Ren, Nora, and Pyrrha came up, and Ozpin nodded to them before saying, "Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces, and so from this day forth, the four of you shall be known as, Team JNPR (Juniper), led by Jaune Arc."

Nora wrapped Ren in a bear hug, and Jaune looked at Ozpin with wild eyes, and stammered, "W-W-Wait, lead by who now?"

"Jaune Arc," Ozpin repeated himself, and Pyrrha beamed at Jaune, and Ozpin commented, "Congratulations, young man."

Pyrrha gave him a friendly punch to his shoulder, but accidentally did it too hard, because it sent Jaune sprawling onto the ground.

After the four ended their self-congratulations, they left the stage, and Ozpin called another four up, and Blake, Yang, Ruby, and Weiss stood up onto the stage.

"Blake Belladonna. Yang Xiao Long. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces, and so the four of you from now on shall be known as Team RWBY."

Yang smiled, and Weiss looked at the grey-haired man expectantly, waiting to see who would be leader.

"The four of you shall be led by…Ruby Rose."

Weiss gasped in shock as she looked at the little girl, and Yang wrapped her arms around the little girl, "I'm so proud of you!"

As the four left the stage, Ozpin gave a pleased, respectful nod towards them, and said, "Now, last, but certainly not least. Hanzo Hasashi. Clarice Scarlet. Pierce Perkins. And Gaara of the Sand. the four of you retrieved the black knight pieces, and so, from this day forward, you shall be known as Team GHPC (Graphic), lead by Gaara of the Sand."

Ozpin then looked to Gaara, and said, "May luck be with you."

Gaara nodded, and Hanzo and Pierce looked at each other, as they thought about what other team Gaara would have been on had earlier events hadn't happened.

*FLASHBACK*

Gaara picked up the white knight piece, and looked at it. It seemed to be made of ivory, a precious material that was very rare in his world, and many did not know where it came from.

Gaara suddenly heard the grumbling of a girl, and he turned to his left to see Ruby, who seemed to be pouting.

It seemed that there were no more chess pieces left, and Ruby was left out, and tears seemed to start to threaten to come out.

"But, I WANT to go here!" Ruby whined as she looked to her blonde sister, Yang.

Yang looked at the white knight on her hand, and without hesitation, she held out the piece to her sister, and said, "Here. Take it. You deserve it."

"But, what about you!?"

"I can always come back, Ruby."

Ruby's lips started trembling, and she threw her arms around Yang's neck, and cried out, "Thank you! Thank you so much! I love you so much! You're the best sister ever!"

Yang smiled, and patted Ruby on the back lovingly, and said, "I'll make sure to visit you. And you better call."

After Ruby finally let go, she sniffled and wiped the tears off her face, and said, "I'm going to miss you so much."

A tear slid down Yang's face, and she held one of Ruby's hands intimately and said, "Go. Be a huntress."

Suddenly, Gaara felt a wave of motion flood over him. The feeling of loneliness, of never having anyone who cared or loved him. Never having someone to call a friend, or a loved one. The torment of being alone.

Gaara couldn't let that happen. Ruby needed her sister to be with her.

Gaara looked at the white piece in his hand, and looked at Yang, who was watching her sister Ruby begin to go back to Beacon

"Hey," Gaara said, and when Yang looked behind her at him, he tossed the white chess piece to her, and said, "Go. A sister should never be alone without her family."

Yang looked at the chess piece, and looked as if she was in shock. She had been prepared to never go to Beacon, to have her hopes crushed, only to have them risen back up again, and she looked at Gaara, a smile on her face, and a tear of joy and thankfulness in her lilac eyes that dripped down her cheek, and she said "Thank you."

Gaara smiled as the blonde ran off after her sister, when suddenly his eye caught a glint off to his side.

Gaara turned, and saw something that he could only attribute to pure good luck. A glossy, black knight laid on the ground, the sun glinting off its shiny covering.

*FLASHBACK ENDED*

Gaara looked across the audience, and found Ruby and Yang, who looked at him with thankful eyes, and Gaara smiled at them, and nodded to them.

"Well, things are certainly shaping up to be a….interesting year," Ozpin said

After the ceremony, each of the teams went to a party hosted by the Beacon Academy in the ballroom, and everyone began to have a good time. The music had an upbeat tune to it, and most of the people were either chatting with friends, or dancing.

Beacon Academy, however, made a point of trying to make everyone feel at home by including foods from all regions, which Gaara found to be a rather interesting menu.

Gaara scanned the refreshment table, when Pierce pulled up next to him, and slapped a hand on his shoulder, "What's up! How ya doin, team leader!? Or should I say Gaara of the Sand?"

Gaara frowned a little at Pierce, and said, "Just call me Gaara."

Gaara's eyes suddenly lit up when he saw a small plate with gizzard and a medium-sized piece of salted tongue, one of Gaara's favorite foods.

Gaara picked up the plate, and picked up the salted tongue, and bit into it, the flavor that he loved so much flooding his mouth, when Pierce perked up, some gizzard in his mouth, "Best food ever, em I right! Nothing beats Vacuo's cuisine!"

Gaara nodded at Pierce, and suddenly remembered, "Hey, wasn't Clarice's name Scarlet?"

Pierce gave a confused look at Gaara, "What do you mean? That's her last name!"

"What do you mean?" Gaara questioned, "I heard you call her Scarlet when we first got to Beacon."

"Oh, that," Pierce said as if finally remembering, "Yeah, her name is Clarice Scarlet, but sometimes I call her by her last name, other times by her first. She doesn't really stick onto a first-name basis, so she doesn't really care."

Gaara nodded in confirmation, "Well that makes sense."

Pierce then leaned over to Gaara, and said, "Hey, uh by the way. How did you do that whole thing with the sand on the Nevermore. I mean, I know Sand's your semblance, or something, but even with that giant gourd on your back," Pierce pointed at the gourd on his back, "There is no way you could have had enough sand in that thing to crush that bird with a mountain."

Gaara gave a deadpan look at Pierce, and replied, "Well, if you really want to know, while Hanzo and the others were fighting the scorpion, I was MAKING more sand to use at my disposal."

"Uhh," Pierce said confused, "How exactly do you make more sand?" Pierce said the last three words with air quotes

Gaara sighed, a bit annoyed at the question, "I let some of my sand leak out of my gourd, and use that sand to ground up the ground from underneath, thus creating more sand. However, any sand I use from this method or any sand that isn't in my gourd, I can't use as precisely."

"And, why is that?" Pierce asked, raising a eyebrow

"The sand in my gourd, it is infused with my cha-" Gaara almost said, before cutting himself off, and saying, "It's infused with my aura. Thus, giving me more precision and accuracy, and I can deploy it faster than sand that isn't infused with my aura."

Gaara was glad that he cut himself off in time. Gaara was also glad that he had asked Ozpin when they got back from the initiation and before the team assignments what aura and semblance was. He had heard the name's thrown around a lot, so he thought that they would be important. Thank goodness that he had asked.

Pierce nodded, "That makes sense. Now that I think about it, that's kinda clever!"

Gaara suddenly saw on one of the observation platforms outside, Hanzo sat alone, a cup in his hands, his blue Sai's on the table in front of him

"I have to go," Gaara told Pierce as he walked away, "See you around."

Gaara walked out onto the platform silently, and when he was behind Hanzo, said, "Not party-type?"

Hanzo looked behind him and at Gaara, and replied, "You don't exactly look like one yourself."

Gaara shook his head, "Guilty as charged."

Gaara sat down on a chair next to him, and said, "So, what do you think of the team assignments?"

Hanzo looked at the shattered moon in the night sky, and said solemnly, "I don't exactly care, as long as I'm not the leader. I don't really take a liking to leadership roles."

Gaara nodded in understanding, and thought of how when he first took the role of Kazekage.

When he first took the role, he was nervous, and wondered whether he would actually even be a good leader, or even if his people would support him because of his history of being Sunakagure's deadly weapon.

But everything turned out alright in the end

Gaara then said to Hanzo, "Usually, the good leaders are ones who persevere, and follow a vision that will help their people, for a leader is not a leader without the people they lead. But, some of these leaders were ones who never wanted the position in the first place."

Gaara sighed at Hanzo, and said, "Sometimes, it is those who don't want to lead that are the greatest leaders."

Gaara stood up, and turned to leave, when Hanzo said, "Gaara. I think you would make a great leader."

Gaara gave a small smile, before he left.

*The Next Morning*

Weiss's eyes opened as the early morning sun beamed onto her face. Weiss sat up and yawned, but when she turned to her right, Ruby was in front of her face, a whistle in her mouth

*TWEEEET*

"GAH!"

Weiss fell on the floor due to being caught off guard by Ruby, and Ruby shouted, "Goooooood Morning Team RWBY!"

"What is wrong with you!?" Weiss shouted in slight annoyance

"Now that you're awake, we can officially begin our first order of business," Ruby said, a sound of excitement in her voice

"Uh, excuse me? What business?" Weiss asked in confusion, when Yang and Blake came walking in wearing their school uniforms, and holding a box filled to the brim with stuff

"Decorating!" Yang said

"What!?" Weiss said, taken aback

Blake held up her suitcase, and said, "We still have to unpack."

Weiss frowned at them, when Ruby blew the whistle in her face again, "Alright! Weiss, Blake, Yang, and their fearless leader Ruby have begun their first mission!"

Weiss sighed, "Well, this morning should definitely be eventful."

Ruby held up her fist in the air, and said, "Alright, everyone ready!?"

Yang and Blake held their fists up towards Ruby, and reluctantly, Weiss did as well, and as the four fists connected in the air, the four shouted in perfect sync

"Banzai!"

Gaara felt rather naked

Although he wasn't literally naked, he still felt naked.

Gaara looked at himself in the mirror of his team's bathroom dorm, turning his head to the right and left.

He didn't mind the academy-mandated uniform, but he felt naked without his gourd on his back. He felt…vulnerable

Clarice, who was next to him brushing her teeth, said, "You know, if there's something wrong with the uniform, you can always ask to get another one."

Gaara shook his head, "No, it's not the uniform, the uniforms are rather fine."

Clarice then raised an eyebrow at him, "Then why do you look like someone took your wallet?"

Gaara shook his head, and said, "I'm…still getting used to not having my gourd with me. I usually take it everywhere with me."

Clarice nodded in understanding, and her eyes lit up as if she had just remembered something, and asked, "Hey, before I forget, how much does that gourd weigh?"

Gaara picked up his own toothbrush from the counter, and applied some blue toothpaste onto the bristles before replying, "The last time I even remembered weighing was when I was around 13 years old. If I remember correctly, it was around 165 lbs."

As soon as Gaara said it, he suddenly saw Clarice spit the toothpaste foam in her mouth at the mirror in surprise, and Clarice then turned towards him and said, "Wait, you mean you've been carrying a 165 lbs gourd on your back since you were 13!?"

Gaara shook his head, and said, "No, I've been carrying it since I was 10. That a problem?"

Clarice's eyes widened, and she shouted, "WWWHHHHAAAATTTT!?"

Gaara spitted the toothpaste out of his mouth as he finished brushing, and after he rinsed out his mouth, he then cupped his chin in thought, and said, "Now that I think about it, maybe it was 170 lbs? 180? Clarice, do you-"

Gaara turned to look at Clarice, only to find that she was gone, the door to the bathroom left open

"-happen to know where the keycard to the room is?"

Gaara sighed, as he then put his brush away, and he finished cleaning up, before walking out of the bathroom

Clarice was fiddling with some sort of strange, rectangular device when Gaara came out, and Pierce was busy on the floor doing sit-ups, while Hanzo was simply writing something down on a piece of paper.

Gaara looked up at the clock of their dorm room, and said to the trio, "Breakfast is in 10 minutes. If we want to get down in time, we should probably go now."

Pierce panted, "Oh come on, Gaara, we can spare a minute of two."

Gaara pinched the bridge of his nose, and said, "Alright, but just a minute."

Gaara suddenly felt a….presence enter the room

Gaara turned towards the window of their dorm room, and he saw a butterfly that had just fluttered on the windowsill.

Gaara walked over to the windowsill silently, and studied the peculiar insect. It was not one that he had ever seen before. Its wings were the color of a silky white, and it crawled along the windowsill that it had just landed on, before turning towards Gaara.

"Alright, just 5 more," Pierce sid, but Gaara wasn't listening

Gaara was focused on the white-winged creature, and the butterfly looked almost as if it was….looking at him?

Gaara held out a bent finger towards the butterfly, a suggestion

The butterfly fluttered its wings for a second, before it crawled onto his finger, and Gaara lifted it up to where he could see eye-to-eye with it.

Gaara made a slightly startled expression when the butterfly turned and looked at him straight into his eyes, making eye contact.

Gaara's startled expression then turned into a curious smile, and he whispered, "Well, aren't you a peculiar one?"

The butterfly fluttered its wings in a way that makes it look as if it was…confirming what he asked?

Gaara furrowed his brows, before he whispered once more, "You can understand me?"

The butterfly shook its head up and down, and Gaara tilted his head slightly, before smiling, "Well, that's a first."

Gaara heard Pierce calling him, and Gaara let the butterfly go, but not before saying, "I have to go. Maybe we can talk later."

The butterfly fluttered off of Gaara's finger, before he left his dorm and went down to the cafeteria

Ruby stuffed the cookie into her mouth, before looking at her other teammates and pulling out a giant book and slamming it down onto the dining table that they were on in the cafeteria, and said, "Alright you guys, I've prepared a list of activities that we could do together as a team."

"Ruby," Weiss said, quite obviously annoyed, "Can we please have some time to eat before you go sicking a book of things on us, which is probably things which I probably don't want to talk about?"

Ruby put her fist on her hip, and replied, "Sorry, Weiss. I'm just SOOOOO EXCITED!"

"I am too," Yang said, "But I'm gonna have to agree with Weiss on this. You've gotta save some of that hyper energy for later."

"Yeah, Yang and Weiss are right," Blake agreed

"Kya! Quit teaming up with them!" Ruby shouted defensively, pointing at Blake, and then she pointed at Yang and asked, "AND YOU! Who's side are you on!?"

Suddenly, Team GHPC arrived at their table, and Gaara said, "Could you please tone it down a little, please?"

Hanzo set his plate down and took a seat next to Blake, and Clarice sat down next to him, while across from them Gaara sat down next to Ruby, and Pierce went next to Gaara

"How do you even have this much energy in the morning?" Hanzo asked Ruby, before asking again, "I mean, I don't exactly expect a small child to even be able to get up this early in the morning like a bullet."

Ruby crossed her arms, taking offense, and she said, "Hey! I'm younger than you! And I'm not small! I drink milk!"

Hanzo shrugged as he ate his food, when a commotion caught both Gaara and Pierce's attention

About a couple of table away, Gaara and Pierce saw Velvet was being picked on by Team CRDL

Cardin pulled one of Velvet's ears, while laughing, and Velvet tried to pull away while saying, "Leave me alone!"

Clarice saw it, and saw Pierce's expression, and she put her hand on top of his, and said, "Pierce, we just got here. I don't want you to get kicked out."

Pierce replied, with an angry expression on his face, "I know, but, well, I just can't stand punks like that. What about you, Gaara?"

Pierce turned to Gaara, or at least where he was sitting. His seat was empty.

"Gaara?" Pierce asked, "Where did he go?"

Meanwhile, Cardin pulled on her ear harder, and Velvet, having enough, slapped him, finally getting him to let go.

Cardin felt his cheek where she slapped him, before anger and rage etched across his face, and he said, " You're gonna pay for that!"

Cardin pulled back his fist to hit Velvet, and threw a fist aimed at Velvet

Velvet held up her arms to try and defend against the punch, but was confused when no impact came

She heard his fist hit something though

She brought her arms down, and was shocked when she saw Gaara in front of her

"Gaara?" Velvet asked

Meanwhile, Cardin was in shock

The red-haired boy had come out of nowhere, and his fist was caught in Gaara's palm, not only a inch away from his face

Gaara scowled, "Why don't you pick on someone in your own calibur?"

Gaara then slung Cardin's fist away from him, and Cardin backed up as Gaara continued, "Or are you too much of a scared child?"

Cardin sneered, and raged, "I've outta smash your head in!"

"Hmph," Gaara thought to himself, "I don't exactly like using taijutsu, but without my gourd, I don't exactly have a choice."

Gaara went into a defensive stance, and held up one of his hands and beckoned to Cardin, and said, "Come on."

Cardin roared as he ran forward, and swung a hook aimed at Gaara's head, which Gaara easily ducked under, and he countered by thrusting his fist into Cardin's mid-section, hard enough to force him to back up a couple of steps, and Gaara followed up by planting his foot into Cardin's chest, and sent him flying backwards and crashing onto one of the tables.

Russel, one of Cardin's teammates, rushed at Gaara to try and help, and he threw a kick aimed at Gaara's side, but Gaara caught the leg in both of his arms, and he swung Russel around in a circle in the air, before throwing him back where he came from.

Cardin had gotten up, and he saw Russel hit the ground, and Cardin growled as he ran towards Gaara, and threw a jab aimed at Gaara's face, before trying to follow up with a downward fist for Gaara's head, however, Gaara managed to lean to his left to avoid the jab, and when the fist came down, Gaara put both of his hands together and blocked it with both of his palms, before kicking out at Cardin's stomach, getting him off-balance, and then he threw a kick at Cardin's legs, effectively getting him onto the ground

Sky grabbed a fork, and proceeded to run at Gaara with it, and tried to stab the boy's cheek with it, but Gaara ducked under his arm, and shot back up and kneed Sky in his stomach, before following up with a hard hook to Sky's face that sent him flying

Meanwhile, from the sidelines, Pierce had just seen what had transpired, and that's when he looked at Clarice with a huge grin

"Hey, I know that face," Clarice began to say, "Don't you d-"

Pierce completely ignored her, and went running towards the fight, shouting, "Hey, Gaara! Save some for me!"

Hanzo, meanwhile, slapped his head in embarrassment, and said, "That idiot."

Back at the fight, Dove, the fourth teammate, had grabbed a chair, and was about to throw it at Gaara's back, who was currently locked in fisticuffs with Cardin, when suddenly something grabbed onto the chair from behind, and when Dove looked behind him, Pierce grinned at him, saying, "Wassup."

Pierce then cocked his arm back, and bashed his fist into Dove's face, stunning the boy, and he let go of the chair, which Pierce then grabbed with both hands and swung at Dove full force, the wooden chair smashing against him.

Hanzo, watching from the sidelines, simply finished eating, and Clarice turned towards him while the boys were fighting, saying, "Aren't you going to help them!?"

Hanzo held up one finger, while drinking a cup of milk, and then he set it down, and stood up, and replied, "I was going to finish my breakfast first."

Hanzo then hopped over the table, and began to untie the necktie that he had on as part of the school uniform

Gaara had just uppercutted Cardin, launching the much bigger boy a two feet into the air, and then he followed with a hard jab at his midsection while he was still in midair, and sent him flying backward, slamming right into Russel, who had just gotten up from being thrown by Gaara

Thrush, who had recovered from a recent punch to the face from Gaara, was about to charge in again at Gaara when something wrapped around the wrist of his right arm, and he turned around to see Hanzo, his black necktie wrapped around Thrush's wrist, and Hanzo grabbed his end of the tie with both hands, and pulled with all of his mind while shouting, "Get over here!"

Thrush went stumbling towards Hanzo, and literally went running at him from the amount of force that Hanzo had pulled him with, and Hanzo stepped aside and let the off-balanced Thrush run by him, while throwing a powerful kick at Thrush's back, which sent him flying towards one of the tables, and he hit the table with much force, his face landing in someone's abandoned breakfast.

Meanwhile, Gaara had managed to gauge Cardin's style of fighting, and Gaara parried one of Cardin's hooks

"He relies more on aggressiveness and pure brute strength to fight," Gaara thought to himself, while ducking under Cardin's wild fist, "However, his attacks have no thought, no strategy. And on top of that, he lacks any grace or skill. I'm not very good at taijutsu myself, but compared to this guy, I'm on a another level."

Gaara then sweeped Cardin's legs out from underneath him, and stood back up, when Russel charged at him

"I don't have time for this," Gaara said, as he then held up his hand, and as Russel got within range of Gaara, Gaara launched a open palm towards Russel, and his hand smacked him across the face, shattering Russel's aura and sending him flying backwards, where he then thud on the ground, and was out cold.

Meanwhile, Thrush had grabbed a eating utensil and attempted to attack Hanzo with it, and the boy had dodged each of his strikes easily, and being very agile and nimble, Hanzo then dashed behind Thrush, and karate-chopped him in the side of his neck, effectively knocking Thrush unconscious

Piece, on the other hand, had Sky in a headlock, and he then kneed Sky twice in the stomach, the second one breaking Sky's aura, and he then finished by raising the elbow of his free hand up and slamming it down on Sky's back, and Sky went slump to the ground

Meanwhile, Gaara had Cardin on the defensive. Gaara faked a jab to the face, and Cardin took the bait and raised his arms to defend against a jab that would never come, and Gaara followed up with strong thrusting punch to his stomach, causing him to slide backward on the ground

Cardin growled, and shouted, "I'm gonna smash your head in!"

"No you're not," a voice behind Cardin said, and when Cardin turned around, Hanzo's open palm strike hit him the face, while Pierce's fist hit Cardin in the stomach.

Cardin was forced to back up from the strikes, and Cardin, currently distracted by Hanzo and Pierce, Gaara saw a opening, and he then charged towards Cardin, and Cardin turned around in time to have his face hit by Gaara's fist, and Gaara sailed by Cardin as his fist hit Cardin in the face, and Hanzo then followed up the combo by doing a backflip kick to Cardin's chin, stunning him for a second and making him see stars

Gaara and Pierce took this time to attack again, and Pierce shouted, "Let's do this!"

Gaara and Pierce each grabbed one of Cardin's arms, and both of them thrusted their knee into Cardin's stomach, before they then grabbed Cardin with both of their arms, and lifted him up and jumped into the air, and the two slammed Cardin into the ground, a resounding thud sounding out through the air, and Hanzo had jumped up onto a nearby table and leaped into the air as Gaara and Pierce slammed Cardin into the ground, and Hanzo went into a flying kick stance, and went sailing towards Cardin, and smashed into Cardin, practically destroying Cardin's aura.

Hanzo, Pierce, and Gaara dusted themselves off as they then took in the scene before them. They had caused a giant mess from their fight, and although they hadn't really broken anything, (other than the chair that Pierce used to hit Dove), food and plates were everywhere, and a few tables were pushed far from where they were originally placed.

Suddenly, there was clapping, and Gaara turned around to see Velvet, and three others clapping, alongside many more students. Velvet had a shocked yet relieved look on her face, while the three people near her, another girl and two men, looked to be slightly pleased

Gaara turned towards Pierce and Hanzo, and said, "Thank you for helping."

"Hey, no prob man," Pierce replied, "I'm always happy to give anyone a helping hand at kicking punks butts!"

Hanzo crossed his arms, and said, "Clarice told me to help."

Gaara chuckled, when suddenly the clapping subsided, and Gaara turned to see Professor Glynda Goodwitch had just walked in, and she did not look pleased.

Professor Goodwitch frowned, and beckoned to Gaara, "Gaara, would you like to explain this. In my office."

Gaara nodded respectfully, and Glynda then had a couple of other students help get Team CRDL to her office as well.

Ruby watched with eyes of wonder at the fight, and when Professor Goodwitch took Gaara and Team CRDL to her office, she couldn't help but shake with excitement, "That was awesome!"

Hanzo and Pierce had came back, and Clarice grabbed Pierce by the ear

"Hey! OWOWOWOW! What the hell, Clarice!" Pierce said, as Clarice forced him to sit down by pulling his ear, and Hanzo sat down as Clarice began to chew Pierce out

"What the heck was that!" Clarice ranted, "Now you could end up getting suspended! Or even worse! Expelled! Never to come back! And we had just got here! You are not gonna leave me here alone!"

Pierce replied, while cupping his sore ear in his hand, "Sorry, Clarice, but I just couldn't help it."

Clarice lightened up, and said, "I know. You don't have to tell me your reason for trying to fight, but please don't do anything like that again, at least not here in the academy. Outside, you can beat that team to a pulp for all I care, but not here."

Pierce chuckled, and Hanzo was sipping on his orange juice when he felt someone watching him, and when looked to his side, Ruby was up in his face, only inches away from him, her eyes wide with wonder

"Gah!" Hanzo said while scotting back a little, and Ruby then began to rant, "Wow! You guys are so awesome! First you were like Pow! Then Bam! ANd what you did with your necktie was awesome!"

"Uhhh," Hanzo said unsure and uncomfortably, "Thanks?"

Yang smiled at Ruby, before Blake said, "I hope Gaara isn't gonna be in too much trouble."

"Oh come on, Blake," Weiss said, "If Cardin is stupid enough to pick a fight with Gaara, then that's on him. But Gaara was the one who intervened and started it."

Blake looked at Weiss, a offended expression on her face, "Yeah, he started the fight when there never needed to be one, but he did it to protect her," Blake said while gesturing to Velvet, who seemed to be talking with her team about what had just happened

"Blake's right, Weiss," Yang agreed, "If he didn't do it, I probably would have myself."

Weiss rolled her eyes, and Hanzo looked at Yang with pleading eyes, as Ruby kept ranting to him.

Yang sighed, and said, "I just hope he is okay."

Gaara sat uncomfortably in his chair, as he waited outside of Glynda's office while she chewed out Team CRDL.

Gaara wasn't exactly used to being chewed out by an adult, mainly because back at Suna, any adults that were there were either too afraid to chew him out or respected him too much, So this was a first.

Professor Goodwitch's door opened, and Team CRDL filed out, with Cardin ging Gaara a particularly dirty eye, before they left. Glynda walked out and gestured to Gaara to come in.

Gaara sat down on the chair in front of Glynda's desk, and waited for Professor Goodwitch to sit down, and then she asked, "Alright, I'll ask the same question as I did them. What exactly happened? And no half-truths."

Gaara frowned, and replied, "I saw injustice. I acted. That is all there is to it."

Professor Goodwitch pursed her lips, before replying, "I know. I saw it all before I brought the lot of you here. You were protecting a faunus."

"And what concern is that of yours?" Gaara asked, crossing his arms.

"Headmaster Professor Ozpin told me about you," Glynda said, "And when he did, I couldn't help but be suspicious. I felt as if we were letting an intruder inside the school who may end up being the destruction of Beacon."

Glynda then looked at Gaara solemnly, and said, "But when I saw you protect that faunus, a person that you barely knew, I knew that I was wrong, that you would never do anything to hurt anyone that didn't deserve it."

Professor Goodwitch then looked down at the desk, and said, "I brought you in here to thank you for protecting your schoolmates, even if you didn't know them."

Gaara let a small smile show up onto his face, and said, "You do not need to thank me, Professor Goodwitch. I was simply doing what a certain…..friend would have done for me."

Glynda nodded, and she said, "Well, thank you anyways. You may go."

Gaara stood up, and began to walk out, when Professor Glynda Goodwitch said one last thing, "And do try not to cause any more trouble though."

Gaara turned around as he opened the door, and replied, "I don't intend to."

As Gaara walked out of the room and closed the door behind him, he could swear that he saw a butterfly with silk white wings behind Professor Glynda Goodwitch, standing atop the sill of her open window.
