Severus Herrod's next arena was a beautiful icy landscape. Mountains towered in the north and east, while a choppy ocean made up the south and west corners of the arena. Polar bear mutts roamed the ice while small arctic birds filled the skies. The sun almost never set, making night and day blend into one.
The boy from District 2 was a crowd favorite. Nicknamed "The Law", he was the son of a Peacekeeper and a trainer at Verona's Academy, so he'd been preparing his whole life. He had the highest odds of winning, but Princess and Calamari were also well-loved and highly-rated tributes. Other tributes of interest were the twins from 3, Gavin and Demi. Demi volunteered to protect Gavin, who was deaf.

The Games:
As the gong rang, the tributes slipped and slid across the ice. Only Rook of 12 and the twins from 3 ran off across the glacier. The other 21 tributes braved the bloodbath. Sabino of 11 was quick, and reached the Cornucopia in record time. He grabbed several knives and a backpack and darted off. Platinum of 1 tried to stop him, but Sabino plunged his knife into Platinum's chest. The first death of the bloodbath was a Career.
Platinum Bouchard, District 1 Male: 24th, Killed by Sabino, Bloodbath
Sabino rushed out of the clearing as the rest of the Careers surrounded the Cornucopia. Lawson picked up a massive ax and cleaved into the small boy from 12 while Calista's spear sank into the chest of the boy from 8.
Timothy Meyer, District 12 Male: 23rd, Killed by Lawson, Bloodbath
Linus Zai, District 8 Male: 22nd, Killed by Calista, Bloodbath
Princess grabbed a thin sword and slashed into the girl from 9, cutting her to ribbons. Meanwhile, Calamari grabbed a trident and threw it at the girl from 6. It sank into her back, killing her.
Frances Gross, District 9 Female: 21st, Killed by Princess, Bloodbath
Lexi Montgomery, District 6 Female: 20th, Killed by Calamari, Bloodbath
Coral, who was quite good with throwing knives, planted two sharp blades in the necks of the girls from 8 and 11.
Ethel Marston, District 8 Female: 19th, Killed by Coral, Bloodbath
Apple Parker, District 11 Female: 18th, Killed by Coral, Bloodbath
Alec from 5 grabbed a backpack and dashed across the ice, desperate to get away. But he slipped and slid straight to the feet of Calamari, who put his trident through the boy's back.
Alec Banner, District 5 Male: 17th, Killed by Calamari, Bloodbath
Willow and Bran were fighting over a large backpack, one of the largest in the Cornucopia. Bran reached behind him with one hand, grabbing a sickle and slicing it across Willow's throat. The younger boy fell back in a spray of blood, and Bran fled with the backpack and the sickle.
Willow Scott, District 7 Male: 16th, Killed by Bran, Bloodbath
Emmett and Carson were also wrestling over a backpack. Carson yanked it out of Emmett's hands and then grabbed him, slamming his head against the Cornucopia until his skull broke.
Emmett Dane, District 10 Male: 15th, Killed by Carson, Bloodbath
As Carson turned to run he slammed straight into Lawson, who didn't hesitate to behead the boy. His head rolled across the ice as the rest of the tributes fled.
Carson Potts, District 6 Male: 14th, Killed by Lawson, Bloodbath
The Careers hunted all day and nearly all night, but they didn't find anyone else on Day 1. On the morning of Day 2 a girl was chased by a polar bear mutt after getting too close to its cub, but managed to escape. And on Day 3, the Careers finally saw someone. They surrounded the girl from 10, who was in the process of skinning a bird she'd killed, and began to kick and beat her. After torturing her for nearly an hour, Princess put her sword through her chest.
Moxie Lim, District 10 Female: 13th, Killed by Princess, Day 3
On Day 4, Sabino and Bran came across each other. Sabino threw one of his knives, which sank into Bran's shoulder, injuring him. But Bran was unfazed. He roared in anger and pain and lunged forward, slashing his sickle across Sabino's chest. They fought, dagger against sickle, for a few moments, but Bran's weapon was superior. He used the curved blade to cut deep into Sabino's throat.
Sabino Dodd, District 11 Male: 12th, Killed by Bran, Day 4
Later that day, when it finally got dark, a girl died from hypothermia.
Rook Caraval, District 12 Female: 11th, Hypothermia, Day 4
Electra of 5 was working on something in a small ice cave. Finally, on Day 5, she was ready to test her contraption. She yelled as if in pain, and Amber of 7, who had an ax, came to find and kill her. But as Amber entered the cave, Electra pulled on a wire, and a cluster of sharp icicles fell on Amber, piercing her. She bled out ten minutes later.
Amber Travers, District 7 Female: 10th, Killed by Electra, Day 5
Day 6 passed without deaths, but Day 7 was a bloody one. Bran came across the twins from 3, who were both starved and half-dead. He killed them both with ease.
Demi Rose, District 3 Female: 9th, Killed by Bran, Day 7
Gavin Rose, District 3 Male: 8th, Killed by Bran, Day 7
Now it was just the Careers, Electra of 5, and Bran of 9. The Careers had had almost no success with their hunting, so when they spotted Electra, they were elated. They chased her into an icy ravine, but Electra was baiting them. She used a similar strategy to her mentor, Elinor, and triggered a small avalanche. She left the ravine safely as the Careers were crushed by hundreds of pounds of snow and ice.

Princess Levenseller, District 1 Female: 6th, Killed by Electra, Day 8
Calamari Schumaker, District 4 Male: 5th, Killed by Electra, Day 8
Lawson Beckett, District 2 Male: 4th, Killed by Electra, Day 8
Coral Cassidy, District 4 Female: 3rd, Killed by Electra, Day 8
By the middle of the day on Day 8, the Final 2 had been confirmed. The Gamemakers sent polar bear mutts to chase Electra and Bran together. Electra didn't have time to stop by her cave, so she arrived at the Cornucopia weaponless. She managed to grab a sword before Bran arrived, but she wasn't entirely sure how to use it.
The final fight was short and bloody. Bran landed the first blow, cutting deep into Electra's shoulder, but she managed to maintain her grip on the sword and open the wound Sabino gave Bran on Day 4. Both bleeding heavily, the two of them danced around each other, unable to find an opening. But finally Bran lunged forward and cut deep into Electra's stomach. She fell back, her blood pouring out onto the snowy ground. Bran crouched beside her as she bled out. Finally, her cannon fired.

"Panem, I give you your victor: Bran Granger of District 9!"
The Aftermath:
Bran, like Autus, was a popular victor known for his bravery and bloody kills. His Victory Tour went well, but District 5 was bitter at the loss of Electra. After his Games, Bran would turn to alcohol, and would become good friends with Autus.
