A few days have passed ever since Izuku came to live with Enji and his family. In order to help his nephew with the change, Enji stopped his extra-hours at his work, but he saw there wasn't much about it. Izuku was just a very happy child that could get along with anyone. Of course Enji got a little bit worried when it was the day of his mother's funeral, but, despite his understandable sadness, the boy appeared to be moving on, even with his uncle telling him he could let out his big feelings. Not just that, but Enji worked to speed up the adoption process, all while making contention regarding Izuku's connection to Hisashi Midoriya.

Meanwhile, Enji also observed Izuku regarding his Quirk. Ever since the fire, he had never seen him even trying to summon any possible flame. Even when talking to Rei or his children about it, they said he had been containing his fire. That left Enji a little bit worry. He had knowledge how Hisashi would make Izuku feel ashamed of his Quirk and forced him to contain it as much as possible. Something like that to a small child was far from healthy. This was a concern that he didn't hesitate to share with Rei.

"It's just… I don't want the same thing happening to Izuku" Enji said, as he and his wife were on their futon. "My brother already lost it and…"

"Don't you think you're overreacting?" Rei asked, as she went to massage her husband's shoulders to help him relax. "I know he is having trouble controlling his Quirk, but…"

"It's not about control, Rei" Enji replied. "Izuku is simply repressing his fire. I can feel he wants to use it, but he simply… doesn't."

"But Hisashi spent years without using his fire" Rei commented.

"That's because he had some control over his Quirk to do that" Enji told. "But Izuku is just five years old. He is still learning how to control his. I hate to think about it, but…"

"You want to train him" Rei told, as she stopped the massage and put herself beside him.

"More like… try to spark his fire" Enji replied. "But I'm afraid of what that can lead to. I don't want him to become obsessed with his fire like Toya or resenting my training like Shoto."

"Well, I'm certain you will find a way" Rei said, holding his hands. "You have learned from your mistakes after all."

"Not as much as I hoped" Enji commented.

At that moment, he started to smell something…

"Can you smell this?" he asked.

"Yes, it smells like…" Rei started.

"Something is burning…" Enji said, with his mind already connecting to one cause. "Don't tell me he is doing it again."

He was talking about Toya and his nocturnal attempts to train. Enji got up and headed towards the exit of his room.

"Please, Enji, don't be too hard on him" Rei replied.

"I will just tell him to stop and go to sleep" Enji replied.

He opened the fusuma and got out, starting to head towards Toya's room. But then he realized that the fire was actually closer, coming from… Shoto and Izuku's room. That caused him to run towards it. Opening their fusuma, he found a part of the room in flames… the one where Izuku was sleeping. In fact, the flames were coming from Izuku, who seemed to be having a very intense nightmare. Shoto was standing up, trying to use his right side to create ice to control the fire, while using his left side to shield himself from the flames.

"Shoto! Izuku!" Enji shouted.

"Dad, Izuku is having a nightmare!" Shoto replied, as his father approached him. "I tried to wake him up, but the flames…"

"I'll deal with that" Enji told him. "Go get your mother, Fuyumi and Natsuo. Your ice together will be able to quell the flames. I'll try to wake Izuku up and contain his fire."

Shoto nodded and went to do just that, while Enji headed towards Izuku.

"Izuku! Wake up! You need to wake up!"

More flames started to come up from him, but Enji secured him with his arms, using himself as a barrier to prevent the flames from spreading. Meanwhile, Shoto returned with Rei, Fuyumi and Natsuo, with them coming inside and using their ice to put out the flames.

"Izuku, you have to wake up!" Enji shouted, as he slightly shook off his nephew.

It was then that the boy opened his eyes, full of tears, looking confused. The fire on him started to dissipate, leaving him with a burned pajama and with his hair gaining even more crimson streaks.

"No… I don't want to… Please, don't…" he said.

"It's okay, Izuku, everything is okay…" Enji told him, as he put down his nephew.

Izuku sat up and he started to focus his mind and, after looking around to the burned room. More tears appeared on his eyes and he started saying, while starting to cry:

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry…"

"You don't have to apologize, sweetie" Rei said, as she kneeled before him. "You were just having a big nightmare. And it's not like we are not used to it."

"Yeah, don't forget we have fire users living here" Fuyumi said, while making her ensuring smile.

"Rei, take Izuku and the others to drink a cup of tea" Enji said to his wife. "Clearly we need to calm some nerves before going back to sleep."

She nodded to him, but before Izuku could get up, Enji placed his hand on his nephew's head and told him:

"Don't worry. You did nothing wrong."

Izuku, still upset about what happened, nodded with his head and then followed his aunt and cousins out of the room. Enji went to the entrance to watch them going to the kitchen and then saw Toya at some distance, observing the all scene. The two of them traded some cold stares to one another, before the teenager started heading back to his room. Enji sighed, as he went back to the room and observed the damages afflicted to it.

The tatami had been badly burned on Izuku's side, something that both concerned and impressed Enji. He was concerned about how his nephew's lack of control was causing those outbursts, but he was also impressed by how powerful his flames were for his age. They almost resembled Toya's in terms of intensity. But what really called his attention was the place where Izuku was sleeping when he lost control. Kneeling down to observe the scorching marks, he noticed they were less burned than the rest, what didn't make sense having in consideration that place was the epicenter of the fire. He wondered how that could have happened, but then noticed something that was closed by: Izuku's Endeavor doll (which was just slightly burned at the edges) and the framed picture of him with his mother (whose frame was burned, but not the picture).

Could it be that the reason why the epicenter was not as scorched was because Izuku, intuitively, didn't want his most precious possessions to burn? But that would mean that Izuku, despite not having control in summoning his flames, still had control over what they should or not burn. That was something that truly impressed Enji, as he himself didn't learn how to properly control the temperature of his flames until he was just a little older than Izuku. However, Enji didn't want to dwell too much on those hypothesis, possibly because of his fear of ending up doing exactly what Toya had said at the day of Izuku coming to live with them. But then again, for the sake of his nephew and the rest of his family, he needed to learn as much as he could about his Quirk.

At the next day, Enji and Rei took Izuku to their Quirk doctor, so they could learn more about his Quirk. After the results were ready, they went to talk to him.

"For what I can see from the exams we did to Izuku, his Quirk is functioning exactly as it should" the doctor said. "For the most part, it is Hellflame without a doubt, just like yours, Mr. Todoroki."

"For the most part?" Enji asked. "What do you mean for the most part?"

"Well… normally, when I say this is because even equal Quirks may work differently from person to person" the doctor replied. "But in Izuku's case… I dare to say that his Hellflame has suffered a slight mutation, must probably due to his mother's Quirk. From the information I got, your sister-in-law was able to attract objects to herself. Have you seen something like that when Izuku used his Quirk?"

Enji and Rei traded a look, as they didn't know how to answer that question.

"We haven't seen anything unusual on Izuku's Quirk" Enji said. "He can generate fire, but that's pretty much we have seen him do."

"But we have noticed that Izuku is trying to prevent himself from using his Quirk at all costs, so we were not able to notice anything usual" Rei continued.

"That's why we came here, because he lost control of his Quirk, possibly a result of him trying to repress it" Enji told.

The doctor made a thoughtful look and then said:

"That is quite concerning… But if there's nothing wrong with his Quirk factor and if he is consciously repressing his Quirk, together with the circumstances when he lost control… I can only conclude that the problem is not physical, but psychological. It's not just our genetic and physiology that can mold Quirks, but also our state of mind. And since your nephew has suffered a great trauma, I can only suspect it comes from it."

Another concerned look was traded between Enji and Rei and the latter then asked:

"So you say that we should search for psychological help."

"I think that it's the only thing that can be done" the doctor replied. "It's obvious that Izuku is suffering from a major Quirk block. I have the contact of a psychologist that specializes herself in helping people that have suffered traumatic experiences and have problems with their Quirks regarding it, especially with children. Professionally, she is little experienced, but you cannot deny her results. I can give it to you so you can ask for a consult."

The doctor gave them the contact and, after the consult, Enji and Rei went to observe Izuku playing with other kids there at the hospital, as they wondered what to do.

"I know you don't like this, Enji, but I think we should take him to…" Rei started.

"I know…" Enji said. "I agree. He needs this. I will schedule a consult and…"

"Why don't you let me take care of it?" Rei asked him, while putting her hand on his. "He is my nephew as well. And we took him in together."

"Are you sure?" Enji asked.

Rei nodded and told:

"You have a lot in your plate. Just your Hero work takes a lot of your energy. So let me take this off your shoulders. It's the least I can do."

The Flame Hero couldn't help but become even more impressed with Rei. She has been very supportive of him, especially regarding Izuku.

"Thank you, Rei" Enji replied, with a smile.

After they went back home, Rei went to schedule a consult to the psychologist the Quirk doctor had recommended. At the day of the consult, they were waiting at the waiting room, with them sitting on chairs. While Rei was reading a magazine that was there, Izuku was fidgeting, while looking around nervously. His aunt noticed that and asked:

"Is something wrong, Izuku?"

But the boy just shook his head. Compassionately, Rei placed her hand on his hand and told him:

"You don't need to hide what you're feeling from me. I won't get mad."

"It's just…" he started. "You and uncle Enji took me in and I'm already giving you a lot of work."

"Don't feel guilty about it" Rei told him. "You're not to blame for your troubles. And if we're giving a lot of effort to help you it's because we care deeply for you. Don't forget you're part of our family. You're already like a son to us."

Those words really touched Izuku who expressed a smile and went to hug his aunt who returned the hug. It was then that the receptionist told Rei:

"Mrs. Todoroki, the doctor will see you next."

"Come now, sweetie" Rei said to Izuku, as they got up.

They headed towards the doctor's room, knocking the door and hearing a Come in. They entered and they found her: a woman with a pale skin, red eyes and strong blue hair with a feather-shaped hair clip catching her hair at the base of her head.

"You must be Mrs. Todoroki" she said, as she got up and went to greet the new arrivals to her office. "And this lovely boy must be Izuku. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Dr. Tamashi Tokoyami."

Author's note: I hope you have enjoyed this special chapter, where we get to dwell more into Izuku's Quirk and the problems he has with it. Not just that, but we get to meet a not so new character and, yes, her last name means exactly what you're thinking…
