Chapter 8: Who is Arachnia? (Special thanks to Jokermask18 for the idea.)

Spider-Man was off swinging around the city, when he heard someone calling him.

"Spider-Man!" called a woman. He looked and saw MJ on a rooftop. He dropped onto the roof.

"Hello, Miss Watson. How may I help you?" Spider-Man asked before MJ latched onto his arm.

"I remember now. I was wrong about you being a danger to Peter Parker. You are him." MJ said.

Spider-Man was about to explain when MJ said, "We can date again."

Spider-Man then pushed her off gently, "I'm sorry, Miss Watson, but I'm not who you think I am." he said.

MJ looked hurt before Spider-Man said, "Look, let me explain."

Suddenly, they heard an alarm go off.

"Go do what you do best." MJ said.

"See you, Miss Watson." Spider-Man said before he hurried off.

He soon reached the scene of the crime and found that the crooks had advanced tech capable of blasting him off the wall and stunning him for a few minutes, as he found when he was blasted by a shockwave that made him all dizzy and unable to use his webs, but just before they could attack him, Black Cat showed up and beat up the thugs.

"Don't you guys know you shouldn't kick a man when he's down?" she asked before Spider-Man recovered.

"Thanks, Cat." Spider-Man said.

The last thug got up, which did not go unnoticed by them. But, before he could attack them, Arachnia dropped down and knocked him down.

"Arachnia." Spider-Man said.

"Correct, my dear Spider." she said as she walked over and hugged his arm. Black Cat looked annoyed.

"Excuse me, Arachnia, but Spider-Man is with me." Black Cat said as she pulled on his other arm.

"I'm sorry, but he dated me first." Arachnia said.

This started a small tug-of-war for Spider-Man until something clicked.

"Wait a second. Why the heck would Arachnia be-no." Spider-Man thought before he webbed into a nearby alley, taking the two with him.

"What's this about, Spider-Man?" Black Cat asked.

"Just a hunch about Arachnia. Her voice sounds familiar, her hair is a familiar red, and she's acted towards me the same way that-" Spider-Man said before he webbed off her mask before she could react.

"Mary-Jane." Spider-Man said.

"Guess I'm busted, huh? Spider-Man, do you mind explaining to me why you said we couldn't date?" Mary-Jane asked.

Spider-Man sighed, "Well, I guess there's no other way around it." he said.

He then told her everything, how Peter had left to search for her and how he was there to defend the city until he returned. He also explained that he married Black Cat. So nothing was what she thought.

MJ looked surprised before she said, "I see. Well, I apologize."

"It's okay, Miss Watson." Spider-Man said before something else struck him, "Wait, something else puzzles me. How did you traverse those roofs so quickly? I was quite a ways away from where I met you."

MJ then shot a web at the wall, "I'm not sure how, but somehow I have spider powers like yours. I found out about them after I escaped the lab the other night." she said.

"That must mean…" Black Cat said before Spider-Man finished her sentence.

"You're a clone." Spider-Man said.

MJ nodded before she said, "I'm sorry about the trouble I caused you. I'll leave you alone if you want."

She started to walk away before Spider-Man held her shoulder, "Hold on. Do you have somewhere to go?" he asked.

MJ thought about it before she realized that she didn't, "No. I don't think so." she said.

"Well then, why don't you come to our house? We have plenty of space and the way you fight bad guys is pretty good." Spider-Man offered.

MJ smiled, "Of course, if you're okay with it, Black Cat." she said.

Black Cat smiled, "Well, of course. We can't just leave you on your own, can we? Besides, the kids are sure to love you." she said.

MJ smiled before she hugged both of them gratefully.

Later, after defeating several more bad guys, they arrived back at the mansion.

"Wow, so this is your mansion, Felicia?" MJ asked.

"Yep." Felicia said before she looked around to be sure Stan wasn't around. She then pulled off her mask and turned to MJ with a serious face.

"MJ, this is something you must know. Stan, my son, doesn't know about us being superheroes. I'm worried that he could let it leak if he knew, so keep our hero identities a secret, including yours." Felicia said.

MJ nodded, "I understand." she said before they went inside and changed out of their costumes.
