A/N: just came to mind.
Disclaimer: I own nothing of Max Ride.
So we're just hanging out in a library, hiding from like five billion Erasers that just happen to be lurking on every street corner in New York. So we're all nonchalantly paging through books and not trying to look totally suspicious for just randomly walking in all sweaty like we were running for our lives and just flipping through books.
I kept grabbing random ones off shelves and trying to figure out what they were about and whether they were crazier than our lives were.
This one kind of caught my eye. 'Entice' by Carrie Jones. And I flipped it open to a page and just started reading, mostly to look distracted. And I came across a part that made me stop and read it again.
" 'I'm not much of a fearless leader.'
'Even fearless leaders get sad,' she says.
'Yeah?'
'Yeah.' "
Fang always did call me a fearless leader. Was I allowed to be sad? Was I allowed to have any sort of emotions? Was I allowed to do anything?
"Hey, Ma-"
I turned around and slugged Fang right across the face, not realizing it was him until after my knuckles had already collided with his jawbone. And my heart started pounding in my chest. "Fang!"
"You punched me!"
"Fang!"
"Again, you punched me!"
"You broke right into my deep moment of thought and understanding! No one is allowed to talk to me when I'm deep in a moment of thought! Man, Fang, I thought you were an Eraser!"
His eyes just glittered with silent laughter as he began to stand up again. "Yes, because I totally look like an Eraser..."
So I'm definitely not a fearless leader. Leader, sure. Fearless? Never.
A/N: short, I know, but this really seems to work for this. Hope you enjoyed. Please review.
