XV. – Irony

It was amusing, she thought.

In a dark, evil way.

Because it wasn't really amusing.

Her father had been so infuriated by her elopement with Anthony; by her going against the wishes of the only parent she had left to her.

And yet, for her father to then discover that he had been mistaken all along… That he was nothing more than an old fool

Had she not loved him despite that, she would have smiled at the irony of such a twisted situation.

For there certainly was nothing else to smile about.
