At seeing a human shape step out from behind the trees, King Jonathan looked shocked. Quickly recovering, he said, "Keladry of Mindelan. It is my pleasure to see you this morning."

Kel bowed. "I certainly did not expect to see you, Sire."

Jonathan nodded. "My morning rides, apart from being far and few between, are generally before most nobles are awake and wandering around." He paused. "What about you, Squire Keladry? Do you ride here much?"

Kel nodded, saying, "I enjoy the quiet, and generally Lord Raoul does not require help in the early morning."

Jonathan chuckled. "I'm quite aware that Sir Raoul does not enjoy rising early."

Kel offered him a small polite smile. "If you would excuse me, Sire, I should return to the palace. Lord Raoul should be waking soon." She bowed again, and walked towards Peachblossom.

"Goodbye, Squire Keladry," Jonathan called, but Kel was already riding off.

Once she was out of hearing distance, she mumbled to herself, "I wish my rides would stay quiet; I don't need kings in my way."
