"Jess but you will make it" said Rebecca.
"No we won't his ex-girlfriend did this to me all he will ever do from now on is blame himself and apologies is all I will hear it won't work out I am sorry I am staying." said jess, tears running down her face.
"Wait jess please don't stay please not for us but for Hugo and Cierea "begged Rebecca.
"Your right" said jess.
"And you and Becker will work out I have a six sense when it comes to things like this" said jess mother.
"Yeah you sure were" said Rebecca.
"Just remember something" said jess.
"Of course jelly bean" said her mother. Jess was taken back she had not been called that since her mother died.
"I love you all of you" said jess.
"Jess" said a voice a panicked voice,
"Mommy what is happening?" asked jess.
"Jelly bean I don't know just close your eye it might hurt it didn't for me" said her mother.
"I am dying?" asked jess but she heard no answer. Her world turned black.
"Becca am I dying?" Jess asked again but no word came out her moving mouth. Her world shrivelled into darkness and silence.
"Captain we are asking you to leave now" said the nurse.
"We will forcedly remove you" said the nurse but Becker shook his head. All he heard was her voice and the loud beeping noise coming from the alarm
"I am not leaving her" said Becker he felt hand grab him and pull him back and out the room he never struggled and the watched the nurse and doctors check jess's vitals.
"Becker what happened?" asked matt as he was pulled into the waiting room. Becker though what had just happened he was not sure.
Becker sat next to jess holding her hand. She lay there peacefully. The nurse had just told him she would be fine but DR Greene said otherwise.
"Captain we think Miss Parker has fallen in to a stress educed comma if and when she will wake up we are not sure" he said before leaving. The word that stuck to him the most was If.
It can't be an if thought Becker it has to, to be will not if never if. He sat there talking to her about random things such as a day out he once had his first mission with the team and his days in Sandhurst as a normal solider not now about anomalies and roaming lose dinosaurs when she spoke.
"I am dying?" Jess said but she stayed asleep or unconscious was the technical term the nurse used
"Becca am I dying? Jess asked again.
"No Jess you're not Jess NURSE!" yelled Becker the nurse came in.
"YES" asked the nurse.
"She spoke jess she spoke" said Becker. The nurse nodded and hit a button on the side of jess's bed.
"What did she say?" asked the nurse.
"At first am I dying? And then Becca am I dying?" said Becker.
"Okay I am going to ask you to leave" said the nurse as three doctors pushed past him.
"BECKER HELLO WHAT HAS JUST HAPPENED" yelled matt.
"She was speaking to Becca" said Becker.
"But Rebecca is dead" said matt.
"I know but she was talking to her while unconscious" said Becker
"Where is her nurse lets go and ask" said Emily.
"You may want to sit down for this" said the nurse.
"Miss Parker was in a stage of contrasts fit, her body fighting her body one side wanting to well give up and die the other fighting to live and survive. Fortunately miss Parker is okay her body has recovered and you may go and see her one at a time though" said the nurse. They agreed to go and let matt go in first.
"Hey Jessica" said matt. He walked in and saw jess propped up on pillows and drinking water
"Hey Matt" said Jess.
"How you doing?" he asked. Jess shot him a look.
"Yeah apart from the obvious I am doing fine but this water is too warm" said jess.
"Good." said Matt.
"Can I see Hugo and Cierea soon?" asked jess.
"Yeah sure soon they will be asleep at the moment" said matt,
"Good they need sleep, so what happened I don't remember anything after she stabbed me" said jess.
"Um well we drove you here were you spent three days in a stress educed comma." said matt.
"Cool what about my leg?" asked jess.
"Okay the cut was not that deep well it was but nothing severed thankfully" said matt.
"Good I wanna go back to work" said Jess.
"Hey do you think they will allow me to eat chocolate and jelly beans in here?" asked Jess. Matt laughed
"I dunno but I am glad your normal self again" said matt.
"Yeah well so how is Emily?" asked jess.
"Why don't you ask her I will go and get her."
"Hello jess how are you doing?" said Emily.
"Great how are you doing?" asked jess.
"Fine the bite was not that bad the good news is what I was dreading was I would not be able to have kids but I can it never damaged the womb" said Emily.
"That is fantastic Emily" smiled jess.
"Oh Matt gave me this to give to you" said Emily hold out a chocolate bar.
"Oh goody want some" asked jess Emily shrugged
"Here so what has been going on with you and Matt?" asked jess while sharing her chocolate bar.
"Hmm well we are sharing the same bed he is not on the sofa any more but like you and your ring we have the same morals not till marriage and he knows that so we are great. Though I tried to bake you a get well soon cake for when you woke up but the ovens are really different and the metal is not to go in microwaves even tin foil who knew" said Emily.
"Ha made that mistake, so how have Hugo and Cierea been?" said jess.
"Fine we looked after them since Connor well feed Hugo ice-cream and coke on his lunch break so we decided we would look after him saves the poor nannies from him climbing the walls" said Emily.
"Connor" said Jess
"That is not all he has done he has shown him how dinosaurs hunt by hunting Abby down ha that fight was interesting they have made up now and learned him a new song. It goes I know a song that will get on your nerves we all most locked Connor in the dracorex paddock yesterday" said Emily.
"Pass us that wheel chair" said jess knowing she could not move her leg.
"Thanks could you help me get changed Emily please I have to go she Hugo and Cierea and Becker" said jess.
Emily helped jess into a pair of pink tiny PJ shorts and a tank top that had a dinosaur on it. As jess heaved herself into the wheeled chair.
"Thanks Emily" said jess.
"No problem now where do you want to go?" asked Emily pushing her out the room.
"Hmm the nursery" said jess as she wheeled past matt and Becker waving at them as Emily pushed her. They got up like lightning bolts and went after her.
"Jess what do you think you doing?" asked matt and Becker.
"Hmm going to see Hugo and Cierea three days without me must kill them" said jess. Becker had taken the wheel chair and given Emily a break.
"Does the nurse know?" asked matt.
"No I don't like her she is to bossy and would not let me have cool water" said jess
"I don't like her either but she is a nurse" said Becker.
"Hypocrite" said jess.
"How?" asked Becker
"Well you have been here all to many times and you moan and moan and moan" said jess
"That is not the point...Hugo" yelled jess Hugo came running in to jess's arms.
"Why are you in a moving chair?" asked Hugo
"I feel over while running with scissors" said Jess. What I am not going to tell him the truth and why not mouthed Jess at Becker, Emily and matt.
"Good point" said Emily,
"I missed you Auntie Jessie me Cierea and action man have been so worried but uncle Connor has been cheering me up and aunt Abby is really funny when mad at uncle Connor" said Hugo.
"Yes I know Auntie Emily told me" said Jess.
"You consider me as a aunty for him" said Emily.
"Of course with a job like this your my family" said jess. Emily smiled.
Jess was right Connor, Abby, matt, Emily and Becker were all her family. And family sticks together through thick and thin jess was glad of the choice she made to leave her old family because you don't ponder over the past or the future it's the present that counts. And this was jess's present with her new family
