I have been invited to join the Vulcan Science Academy.
I am supposed to accept that invitation.
I am expected to do so to achieve my full potential as a Vulcan.
But I am doing something else entirely.
Most will say my impetuous Human side is responsible for this, and they may be right.
For recently I have come to realize that "striving toward your potential" is the same as letting someone else make the rules in your life, and I will not abide by that.
Since conception, my life has never followed the rules.
Why should I start now?
