Fine's POV
Hmm... Hmm...Hmm... There's only a minute left for this test. Only one choice to make left., but I can't figure out if it's A or B? I can't remember everything, so my test grade for history is always low. Now that I think about it why do we learn history anyways? I guess that we could used the methods of the past rulers to use in the future during our- Ah! 30 seconds left! I randomly chose a letter and hoped that it was right.
Then a small bell rang. "Okay that's enough everyone, please pass your papers to the front. Good work on today's test! Make sure to do your best for the rest of the exams this week," Tanba Rin-sensei said. Please let me pass this test so that I don't have to do supplement lessons again. Seriously, Chiffon and the Headmistress are Spartan teachers when it comes to that!
"Rein, I'm going to the library to pick up some physics books for us too study."
"Okay, then I'll do my best to review on my own so I can explain it to you later." I nodded at her and she packed her stuff quickly and went outside to study.
"Fine, are you ready to join the soccer club today?"
"No," I said bluntly to Kaori.
I picked up my bag as she said, "At least for today! You don't have any club activities right? So please!"
"Sorry Kaori, but I was planning on doing somethings today. Tomorrow's the physics exam, right? I wanted to review some more. Well, later," I said as I quickly ran out the door. I sighed of relief. Why does Kaori still want me to join? Even after I said no so many times.
Now that I think about it, why did I say no today? Since my relationship with Bright has gotten better, isn't it okay for me to become more like I used to be? I walked into the silent library and went to the shelves. Tomboy-ish and always playing sports? I grabbed the physics book from the shelf and walked over to a table to read it. Why am I so scared to go back? I really don't get myself sometimes.
I opened the book and eventually lost myself in the world of physics. Before I knew it I fell asleep. It was a pleasant, dreamless sleep.
Then I felt someone tapping on my shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Shade then looked at the setting sun through the window. How long was I sleeping? I yawned. Oh well, it was a nice sleep. "What are you doing here? When I came in you were almost drooling."
I simply answered, "Just... extra studying."
"Really? No wonder. The exams here seem harder than the ones we take at Royal Wonder."
"It's just because the Headmistress wants us to be finished with all formal school after 5 years. The upperclassmen don't have to do exams, but they have to go to all their classes," I explained to him. Did I skip lunch? I'll need to eat more at dinner then.
"That's really different from my school."
I looked over his shoulder to see a rather large stack of books on the nearby table. "Are you reading all of those books?"
"Hm? Oh yeah, there were a lot of medical books here so I just picked a couple that I hadn't read yet," he explained also looking at the stack. I could never read that much, no matter how hard I tried. Shade really is an impressive person. Then I realized something.
"Medical books? Does that mean that you want to be a doctor?"
"Something like that. I want to become a king that can also help heal others. Since my Mother has was been weak and gets sick easily, I've really wanted to find a way to cure her."
"That's really admirable. You've been working hard all this time for that one goal. I don't even know what I would do if I don't become Queen. Maybe I would manage a bakery and sell sweets, but..." Hm... I really haven't thought about it at all actually. What do I want to do, if I can't become Queen?
"By the way Fine, I heard that you didn't join soccer club again today. Why?"
Had he heard my conversation with Kaori earlier? "I don't know. I thought everything would go back to how it used to when I made up with Bright, but... looks like things can't go back to the way they used to be." Why am I so afraid to become all tomboy-ish?
"If it's like that then, why don't we go play basketball?"
"Huh?" Kaori was asking me about soccer. What does playing basketball have to do with anything?
"There's still some time before dinner. Instead of reading, why don't we play some basketball?" Then he quickly added,"Or is it not a good idea?"
"It's not like that, but why are you asking me to play basketball with you all of a sudden? And you're taller than me, so wouldn't you obviously win?"
"You're good at jumping, so it should be alright. Also, if we could get you used to playing sports again, then you would be able to to honestly answer Kaori and everyone else when you're asked to join their clubs," he explained. Oh, that makes sense, but why is he helping me? "Come on, I promise that I'll help you until you love sports again," he said as he extended his hand to me.
I'm not afraid to trust anymore. I won't continue to be a person like this. And so I took his hand and hoped that it'll work.
Rein's POV
"Thank you so much for explaining that to me Bright-sama. I'm not very good with physics, but when you explained it to me it seemed really easy! I'm sorry if I took up too much of your time though," I said as I gathered my books.
"Don't worry as I was helping you understand it, it helped me remember some important facts to remember. I'd better get to my club before it's too late," he said as he quickly stood up.
"Bright-sama you're still going to your club, even through there's still a lot to study?"
"Yeah, I don't like skipping practice and I'm trying to do my best to improve." Even though, he still has to study and he has club meetings, he still managed to help me review for tomorrow's test! Bright-sama really is a very amazing person~!
"That's amazing! Good luck with practice!"
"Thank you Rein. When you study tonight, don't forget to get plenty of sleep too or it's not good for your health." Then he left the classroom. Bright-sama is too wonderful for words~! I wonder if there could ever be a chance that he were to like me back? If he were to put his hand out to me, the I would grab it with no hesitation.
