Rein's POV

"Fine, is this too much? Does it look like I'm trying too hard? Maybe the decor is too much for just going out with someone? Fine answer the questions!" I said to my sleeping sister.

She sat up for a brief moment and said,"Eh." before going back to sleep. Okay maybe I should make sure that she's fully awake before I start questioning her. I tore off her sheets and she glared at me. "I was have a dream about a universal eating contest and I was winning."

"No time to talk, tell me how I look."

I watched Fine as she observed my outfit. A cute, fluffy light blue jacket, with a white shirt that had a small butterfly design at the bottom, a simple skirt, and knee high socks. My shoulder length bag was on my hand and a scarf and a small necklace was wrapped around my neck. "It looks good, don't forget to wear shoes, and you aren't going for another 45 minutes."

"I know, but I know that you're going to overdress for your date, so I got ready early. Why are you still sleeping anyways it's past lunch."

"It's not a date, I slept late last night. I'm pretty sure that we're just going to play basketball or something and I'm getting more tomboy-ish again," she protested as she brushed out her messy pigtails. "And lately I've been wearing lower heels, so you don't have to help me. I don't even have that many choices like you do."

"I still want to help and you haven't even brushed your teeth yet." She groaned slightly as she walked towards the bathroom. I walked over to her drawers and pulled out a jeans skirt with a cream pink shirt and a rose pink jacket. That should be perfect.

"Can you change that to some shorts? It'll be somewhat warmer that way," she said as she looked at the outfit on the bed.

I blinked once, then smiled. "You're finally becoming your old self again. I guess since you've been playing so many sports with Shade so often, you're becoming more tomboy-ish again. You should give your present to him as thanks, you worked to hard on it too, so don't forget."

"Be quiet. I'm going then, don't forget to give your present to Bright either." The door was quickly closed after. Aw, she ran away. I wanted to tease her a little more. I walked to my drawer on the right side of my desk. It's been so long since she's acted like this and it's the same with me. I smiled as I put my present for Bright-sama in my bag. Hopefully this time will be better.

I took a deep breath and walked out the door. I walked to the bell tower with strange feelings. I don't really know how I should act, I mean I've been on dates before with Shade, before he broke up with me, but this is something that I haven't felt in a long time. It's a feeling that I remember when I had my first date. I was nervous and happy all at the same time. If I had this feeling when I was first dated Shade, then would that mean that the same thing will happen again?

I instantly stopped walking. What if that actually does happen again? But Bright-sama isn't the type of person to do something like that without reason! So I'm pretty sure that I don't have to go though all that again... right? Right? Someone please tell me that I'm right. "Rein, what are you doing on the ground?"

I looked up towards the voice. "Altezza, and... Auler? What are you two doing?"

"I'd like to ask you the same question Rein. What are you doing," Altezza said. "Aren't you suppose to be going on a date with Oni-sama? If so, then you should hurry or you'll be late."

"I know that but...," I said muttering.

"Please stop muttering I can't hear you at all." I still looked depressed because soon she said, "You know, Oni-sama really likes you. He was worrying last night about your date, asking me about what you would like, so you aren't the only one who's nervous."

"Altezza."

"Now go hurry, it's already 2:51 and shouldn't it be you who's waiting for him? Not the other way around? At least that's how I think how your mind would work, with things like this."

I smiled at her. "Thank you Altezza!" Then quickly ran off at my full speed, which wasn't really that fast. I should still enjoy today even through it might not work out, but I should also try to be perfect so that he might like me. When I got to the bell tower I didn't see anyone. I guess I'm still a little early. I breathed onto my hands, I didn't think that I would need gloves today. I completely forgot about them. It's too late to go back and get them...

A pair of slightly larger and warmer hands had wrapped around my hands. I looked up to see Bright-sama. "I apologize for keep you waiting, Rein. I hope you went waiting too long in the cold."

"I-it's alright! I just got here!" My cheeks felt like they were getting warmer by the second. He held my hands!

Then he smiled at me and said,"Well, then shall we go?"

"Of course Bright-sama!" We went around the cheerful town. Looking at everything occasionally stopping for something hot to drink or to get a better look at a little puppet show. It wasn't as nerve wrecking as I expected. It's really fun! But I'm still a little nervous.

"At night everything's going to be lit, the Christmas trees, shops and all the street lights. Have you ever seen them before, Rein?"

"Um...," I said as I tried to remember. "I think I did once with Fine...but I don't remember it well and I was too busy to see it all the other years, so I hope that it'll be really pretty like how I vaguely remember it." That's right...our first few years at this school, even through it was Christmas we were studying because we wanted to forget about the Christmas dates that we went with Bright-sama and Shade . Now that I think about it, it was really stupid of us. Why couldn't we have moved forward back then? We couldn't look up and take even one step.

I still don't understand, why is it that now I'm able to take a step forward now? Is it because Bright-sama is here with me? "Rein, what's wrong? You suddenly became quiet."

"Sorry, I was just thinking about something." I've got to make sure that I don't space out or Bright-sama will think that there's something weird with me. Then I heard a very pretty and gentle sound. A music box tune. An old woman with a shawl over her head that was covering her face and a music box. So she's the one playing that song. "It's a very beautiful song, miss."

She had stopped turning the crank and said, "Thank you. Not many people like this type of music these days. As thanks for listening to the song, let me tell you your fortune, young couple. Surely you are wondering about the future?"

"Eh, the sounds interesting. Well, if it's not too much trouble, please do so," Bright-sama said.

"Well then, for you young man, I can only say that you are going to need to find the truth out by yourself. No one can help you, so be careful to find out which is the truth and which is a lie."

"Why do you say that?"

"That is what you need to do to change the future. Now for you young lady, you must be strong. In the future that I see for you, it would be best if you can be strong and confident in yourself, so that you are not to shatter. Believe in what you think, not what anyone else tells you."

"Shatter? Why would I be shattered?" There's no way that I would be shattered again, after all... after all Bright-sama is not that kind of person, so there's no reason why I would be shattered!

"However, the future can change, so don't be too discouraged. Just take it as a warning, so please be careful. Well, I'll be taking my leave now." Before I could say anything she suddenly left. Wow, for an old woman she runs fast.

"Did you understand what she said?"

"Not... really, but sometimes fortune telling isn't true right? It's mostly only coincidence, so I don't think we need to worry too much about it," I said to him.

"You're right, but I think we should take it as a small warning. Now, I think it's dark enough to start lighting. Look." Everywhere was slowly starting to lit up and snowflakes had started to fall. Pretty... "Rein."

"What is it Bright-sama?"

"Here," he said as he handed me a present. This is... "I wasn't sure what you would like so I had Fine help me chose, so I'm not sure if you'll like it or not."

"It's alright! If it's from you, I'm sure that I'll like it!" Quickly I opened it. How cute! A blue rose brooch and there's beads in the petal folds. "It's so cute, thank you Bright-sama! I have a gift for you too. I couldn't really find anything that relates to dancing or swordplay or anything, and I couldn't find anything that you would like, so I looked for something that I thought would suit you... and here!"

I watched as he opened the small box and held out a white rose pin. "This is..."

"I'm sorry if you don't like it! I heard from Altezza once that she compared you to white roses once and I saw this so I was just thinking-!" I don't know where I'm going with this. "Um.. do you not like it?"

"Now that I think about it she did say that when we drank tea out in the garden. How nostalgic. It's been so long, that I forgot about it. Thank you Rein, for helping me remember that."

"It was my pleasure, I'm glad you like it."

And so we just stood there watching the lights and snow.

Christmas is a time for peace, so forgive and forget the mistakes that people have made.
