Shade's POV
"What? Sorry, I was busy thinking if this herb should be here with more sunlight or over there where it can grow more freely," I said still looking at the herb that was just sprouting. Hm... Then I turned to Bright and Rein. "What do you two think? Just leave it here, or move it? "
"THAT'S NOT THE POINT RIGHT NOW!" Okay, what'd I do this time? For Rein to yell like that and have that type of expression, I had to do something wrong or could it be because I didn't do something? "Fine is going on a date with Noche and you act like you don't even care!"
"Oh that? It's fine, by the way she said it, it doesn't really sound like a date," I said brushing her anger off. I like Fine, but if she somehow likes Noche, I guess that's okay. But on account that she said she only agreed because she wanted to try some pie, I don't think it's a date.
"It annoys me how you're not worrying about this! Don't you like Fine?"
"Yes, but I don't really have a right to say who she should and shouldn't date. We're not even going out." But it already gets warmth from greenhouse air conditioning, so I should probably let is grow freely.
"But didn't you two go on a Christmas date together? Oh well," she said quickly lowering her voice. "You're still going to spy with Bright-sama and I. I already brought the tickets, so you can't get out of it," she said with determination.
After I put the plant down, I looked at her questioningly. "I get why you would and why you would force me, but why is Bright coming?"
"Well... I needed an excuse for that day," Bright said simply. Why would he- Oh right. That girl that keeps inviting him to places. "Yeah...," he said reading the expression on my face. "And I thought that it would be fun."
"Yay, so it's agreed! Now, I'll find out what day they're going, so we'll be there on the same day. Don't worry Shade, I'll make sure your crush isn't taken," Rein said cheerfully.
"Who told you that?"
She looked at me, blinked and with a blank stare she said," Milky, of course. She also said that you should make your move soon or someone else will take her. Didn't she tell you?" Milky! Then again, I shouldn't really be that mad since I've been bothering her about her love life, but I can't tell if she cares, or if she's making fun of me. "I'm going to guess no. And technically you just admitted it, a couple minutes ago."
"So I have to go with you no matter what?" I asked hoping that she would say no.
"Yes. Even if that means we're skipping school," she said, cheerfully. Somehow, I've got a really bad feeling. Worse than the feeling that I had 5 minutes ago. "Now I'll go fond out what time the date is, later!" Before I could even say anything she was out.
"How is it that you don't get tired from all her energy?"
"You get used to it. I've already been practicing a lot with Altezza," he said nonchalantly. "I'm more impressed with you being able to keep up with Fine and her sports."
I shrugged. "It's not that much trouble. Why are we talking to each other about this?"
"Well, we're curious about how far we're getting." I guess that's true. Still... It's really awkward talking to a guy about it. "But what should we do wait for them to say it first or said it ourselves?
"Who knows. We'll say it when we're ready, if they say it before we're ready then that's alright too." It's really just that simple, but it just seems hard. Now, that aside where did Rein go? I doubt that she could find out what-
Then Rein suddenly opened the door and said, "They're going tomorrow after lunch!" Never mind. "Fine told me that Noche said that he made a deal for all of his crystals just to skip the afternoon classes tomorrow, so tomorrow after lunch, we're skipping classes! Even if that means we'll get in trouble."
"You're too excited about this, Rein," I said.
"Oh, just wait until tomorrow. Therefore! We're going to need disguises, so with that being said, see you tomorrow!" Then she ran out of the greenhouse to do whatever.
"Bright, I'm scared to know what's going to happen tomorrow," I said looking in the direction of where Rein went.
"The sooner it happens, the sooner we can get over it," he said, still smiling. It was kind of creepy, how Bright wasn't scared at all.
~~~~~~~~Let's go to tomorrow~~~~~~~~~~
"We're good right? Disguises, check. Fake note to miss class, check. Tickets and money, check, so let's go!" Rein said wearing a green wig and blue contacts. I swear she's having too much fun with this. "And let's hurry up or else someone will find out."
"Well, it's too late to go back now isn't it," Bright asked with his hair a darker brown than before and his eyes, a rich gold. "I just hope we don't get caught."
"We won't get caught. And if we do, let's just run for our lives," Rein said simply as she checked her bag for everything again. "Because someone is very scary when they get mad, but we technically have an afternoon off so let's have fun while we spy on Fine!"
"Why are you having so much fun with this Rein," I asked her as I finished putting on my disguise. A velvet red color for my hair and eyes. "Is it really that much fun to be skipping class?" I asked her as we hurried out of the greenhouse and ran at a quick speed just to get a decent distance away from school.
As we were catching our breathes, Rein said, "No, not at all. It's just...," Then she stared laughing. "Ara my, Fine really is completely clueless when it comes to her own love affairs." What? "After all, 4 knights are still... Anyways, I'm just hoping that whoever she'll end up with, she won't have any regrets."
"You really care about her don't you?" I asked smiling slightly.
"Of course I do, she's my sister after all! And this is my duty as her sister. It's also my duty to hurt anyone who hurts her," she said cheerfully, but scary. "Make sure you remember that Shade. Milky probably thinks the same about that matter." And now I'm even more scared of Rein. Who knew a sweet girl like her has a dark side? And how was I completely oblivious to it?
Normal POV
They soon went to the amusement park and found Noche and Fine. Following them on every single ride, watching very closely what was going on. Two certain other people were watching as well, but let's not say how they know about Fine and Noche going to the amusement park. Meanwhile, someone got a phone call.
"They're not in class? Well, of course they're not, I sent them on an errand. Did I forget to tell you? Oh, alright. I see... Don't worry, I'll make sure they'll catch up. Yes... yes... don't worry, they have permission. Yes, goodbye." The phone clicked and the girl smiled. Then she said to herself," Such interesting and troublesome boys and girls. Ah, I really want to have the boys stay. They make everything more interesting."
Anyways, back to the amusement park. Since the cafe they stopped at was couples only. Only Bright and Rein went in to observe them while Shade was outside waiting at a bench, wanting to take off his wig. 'I feel irritated. She's smiling and having a good time with him and I should be somewhat happy, but I'm not. Love is such a troublesome feeling. It almost makes me wonder why people want it so much.'
"Shade-san, it's been a while," a boy with black hair and red eyes said to him. With him was another boy with pale blue hair and purple eyes. "I almost didn't recognize you, but it was almost obvious." Let's not get into how he knows.
"Cross and...Sky? I guess," Shade said, not knowing what Sky looked like and at the same time he was wondering in what way did he look like himself? Seeing no one deny anything, he continued. "I'll just get straight to the point then. Why is it that you have been following Fine all this time?"
"We could ask the same to you," Sky said, practically glaring at him.
"Well, I was dragged out by Rein. She was very interested in having the three of us spy on Fine's 'date' and she didn't let me say no," Shade explained, trying the calm the anger of Sky's glare. Actually she wouldn't let him think to deny her request either. 'Even through she would probably kill me if I did say no,' he thought scared. "So what's the point of the two of you being here?"
"We both like Fine and decided to have a contest between ourselves. Whoever could get her to like them wins. A simple game in a way, but trying to get someone's love is much more confusing than it look. It was only between the two of us, at least that's how it was until this school exchange," Sky said sounding quite upset.
"So? What's your point? All I can see is that you two are thinking that it's unfair, if she falls in love with someone else, just because they're spending a lot of time together," Shade said. "I think that it's not that big of a deal, as long as the time that you've spent together is memorable to the point where you always thinking about that time."
"You can easily say that, because you're with her a lot," Cross said. "But, it's alright. It's more interesting this way, with three people playing. I honestly don't think that person will win, he seems a little weak willed for someone like Fine."
After they left, Shade stood up and thought, 'How long has it been since they went in there?' Not caring about Sky and Cross' supposed threat to him. After all, he knew that whoever Fine was going to pick, it's okay with him, because she just wants to see her happy, that means that he truly and wholeheartedly likes Fine. This the the love that all will seen when the feelings are pure.
Eventually Bright and Rein came out after Noche and Fine, then the rest of the day was simply following Noche and Fine. The three had left as sun started to set, wanting the two not to realize what they were doing. They weren't questioned by any of the teachers when they got back, but unfortunately... "Explain to me again why you three suddenly decided to skip class, and didn't tell me about it? Well?" A huge angry aura was leaking out of the Headmistress.
"We're very sorry!" The three yelled at the same time. You have to admit, the Headmistress is scary when she's mad, she's even scarier than Rein.
"Well, I satisfied," she said quickly calming down, which is surprising since she has so many weapons and embarrassing stories that she could use. "Now, go. Fine's looking for all of you, because she wants to eat that pie with you."
They quickly left, glad that the Headmistress didn't kill them and smiling. They found Fine almost immediately who was also smiling happily with the large box in her hands. All four of them then happily enjoyed the warm pie in the cold weather in the almost spring like time. It really was an amazing time of peace.
There's always peace before a storm, you can't avoid the destruction of a storm.
