Shade's POV

I have no idea what's going on anymore. What did I do to make her act like that? That was what I wanted to happen, it's just that there's something wrong. But what make this all even weirder is what Milky said after Fine left.

What just happened? Does this mean that we're not going to play sports with each other anymore?

"This cake..."

"Milky what are you talking about this time?" The cake should be good since Fine was the one who made it, but Milky's expression says otherwise.

"This cake is really sweet. It's overly sweet to the point where it's disgusting. But Fine knows better than this. " She stared at the cake as she continued. "Why is it like this? You know what kind of person Fine is to me, how important she is, Oni-sama, what did you do to make Fine like this? Or what didn't you do?"

I didn't know what to say. What did I not do to make Fine that upset? It's all so confusing. I thought that I could talk to her about it, but I haven't seen her for the past week. It's like she's avoiding me. Bright's been acting pretty weird too. I think it's because the one who confessed to him wasn't Rein, but that weird girl named Emily. Why is it that everything's become like this? It's like all the work that Bright and I have done, has been undone in seconds.

"Shade, what do you think we did?" Bright asked, stabbing his chicken and putting it in his mouth.

"Actually I think that it's something that we didn't do, I don't know what did Rein say to you?"

"That she liked someone else and didn't want me to be close to her for a while. Right after, that girl came and confessed to me. But what she said was a little shocking. It's like she knew what was going to happen. She said that she was the one destined for me or something like that," he explained. "What about you?" I didn't say anything. "Come on Shade, you wouldn't tell me what you did when you and Milky were suddenly called. What happened?"

"It was just something that neither one of us didn't want to hear." I don't want to think about that. I don't want to acknowledge that it actually happened. "I'll tell you later, maybe."

"Shade, you know that I can keep a happened?"

"This isn't the right place. I'll tell you later tonight." He didn't say anything. "Onto the other problem. I know that Rein likes you, but why is it she didn't confess to you? She is the romantic type."

"Somehow, I get the feeling that it's not that she doesn't like me, but there's something that's preventing her."

"Okay. This conversation is getting too serious," I said sipping my soup.

"I agree."

"No means no! How many times do I have to say it to get it into your brains? Fine is not allowed to join the soccer, or any other club! Now stop asking me about it!" That voice... Headmistress? They sound like they're right behind us. I turned around. Along with the Headmistress, there was Kaori and a couple other girls.

"But Headmistress, why not? You know how good Fine is at sports!"

"After what happened a few years ago, with that girl who almost died because of all the clubs that she joined, it was no longer allowed for someone to join more than one club. Also, I refuse to let someone do something half heartily, unless they have a good reason. Even through that girl says that she wants to do it, what she actually wants to do is completely different."

What she wants to do and how she acts is completely different? What does that mean? I don't want to think about this stuff anymore. "Bright, we should hurry. The break's almost over."

~Later~

"What did you just say, Shade?" Bright asked shocked.

"Like I said, last week Milky and I got a letter. It was weird, there wasn't a sender's name and the handwriting was unfamiliar. And it said that my father, was on another planet, married to another woman. I don't know if my mother knows about this and if she does know, I don't know how she's feeling right now."

"So that's why you've been acting strange lately. But do you actually think it's true?"

"They sent a picture. Look," I said getting the picture and the letter handing it to Bright. A man that looked very similar to me, except he had black hair instead of purple, was in the picture along with another woman and kids that looked exactly like them.

"Shade, this is just- King Night wouldn't do something like this...right?" He said, trying to defend my Father's honor without knowing anything about him.

"I wouldn't know, I don't have that many memories of him. I barely know anything about him except what I read in books and what mother and the other servants told me," I told him. "So I don't know if I should protect his name, or tell my mother about this."

"For now, I think it's better if you just keep it quiet for a while until you get some more proof," Bright said.

"Isn't this proof enough though?"

"But it could all just be a misunderstanding, you never know-"

"There are kids that are duplicates of him, and I've never heard that he had siblings," I told him. "Honestly Bright, what am I suppose to believe at this point?" Everything's so confusing, I don't want to think about all of this, but it's what I'm curious about. Why Fine's been ignoring me, and where and what my father's been doing.

"Well, I know one person who knows the answer to practically everything who might be willing to help us out with our problems."

"Who are you talk- Bright... you can't be serious, that person? She would hunt us if we go to her asking for help," I said shivering.

"Maybe... but who else can we ask about this stuff? Milky hasn't been talking to Fine and Altezza said she didn't know anything when we asked her yesterday. No one would have information on your father and I don't want to talk to Emily, or she'll think that I like her. So we have no choice but to ask her," Bright said explaining everything.

"Yeah, but how are we suppose to do that-" I noticed that there was two fancy, letters that were sticking out slightly from the window. I took both of them out and in calligraphy, our names were written. I handed Bright his. Inside was a schedule with two free places. "We're going in on these days?"

"Yep."
