Will the odds ever be in our favor?
Chapter 1: It's snow!
Uncle Haymitch is the first one to stop crying. "HOW THE HELL WERE BOTH OF YOU REAPED IN 1 GAME!" My dad stops and eyes red and bloodshot, states, "isn't it obvious? Snow had you guys reaped on purpose. It's Snow!" I knew it was good I could shoot a bow, and my brother could throw a spear. Peacekeepers huddled all of us on a train. My mom handed me a pin, 1 pin with the sun moon and stars. "As a token" is all she said.
This year all the tributes were on 1 train so their free-time could be spent getting to know one-another. I started wandering, mulling over being reaped with my brother. I saw a pair of shoes and looked up, too late before I bumped into him knocking him over. "OW!" "AH!" The ow came from me, hitting my nose on his chest, the ah came from him falling over.
"Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry, here, let me help you." "Oh, thanks uh…?" "Jemmer, but you can call me Jem, from district 12." "Nice to meet you, Jem, from district 12. I'm Jame, from district 4." "Nice to meet you Ja-" "JAME! WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING SO LONG!" A voice yelled, and I heard footsteps approaching quickly down the hall. When what I guess was the source of the voice came, the look in his eyes was not too pleasant. Unlike Jame, who immediately had a warm kindle to his bright green eyes, this tribute's eyes found me and a fire sparked in his, but it was dangerous the way his eyes lingered on me, I didn't like it at all. "Oh, sorry was I interrupting something?" He questioned in a sickly sweet tone, "No, nothing at all." I answered. "Well them, Jame, care to introduce us?" "Oh! Um, sure Mark this is Jem the female tribute from district 12, Jem this is Mark, the male tribute from district 2.
"Nice to meet you, Mark."
"And the same to you, Jem."
Still didn't like him.
"Well… see you around then." Jame said, hopefully he didn't notice my uneasiness. "hopefully." I replied with a quick smile. "Yes, hopefully." Mark said, with a hint to his voice that, honestly, SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!
"JEM! COME ON! IT'S TIME FOR LUNCH!" My brother called down the hall. "COMING" I started jogging down to the district 12 dining room and couldn't keep myself from thinking, shame I have to kill Jame.
