Dear Bonnie,
It's interesting, really. I hadn't realized how much I'd come to rely on you being here. I know I sound pathetic, but I'm not sure I really have the heart to care. Something is off balance. There's too much gloom and not enough sun. It's bright outside, but it feels false.
September cannot come quickly enough.
My summer compared to your seems quite uneventful. I spend most of my days accompanied only by my family's old dog, these letters, and some books. Matilda thinks herself too good to spent time outside of the manor.
It seems I've let some information slip, Bonnie, of the kind you seem most interested in.
It is a manor, yes. But it is not the pretty picture you may think.
Someday, maybe I'll find the courage to tell you all about my life, my family, this house. But for now, I can hardly stand to think of it, myself.
I received my O.W.L results recently. Care of Magical Creatures was the only poor grade.
Truly, I received a P.
But thanks to your brilliance at Potion making, I received an Exceeds Expectations and can move on to continue, next year. Thank you, Bonnie. You have no idea how grateful I am for that.
I wish I could talk to you. Actually talk to you. I wonder what your family thought about...the platform.
I hope I didn't cause you too much trouble, though to say I regret it would be the largest lie of my summer.
The Hogwarts Express has never felt so far away.
