(: I enjoy them. Except for the fact it hurts to sit down and it`s frustrating to sleep comfortably. But the cool thing is, the blue and purple parts will glow in uv blacklight, same with the red outline/green outline around the symbols. The words are Heartless and Nobody in case you cant read them.
Anyway, on with the story. Recap: Kurt is in the psych ward, Blaine has talked Sebastian down and reprimanded him for his cruelty to Kurt behind his back. Blaine`s dad sent a threatening call Blaine`s way, leaving Blaine in fear.
Thomas opened the door of the station; it was near impossible to ignore the relentless banging, even through the pounding rain and thunder. He looked outside and saw a teary-eyed and disheveled Blaine Anderson. He stepped aside, letting him in. Blaine`s eyes were wild and fearful, and Thomas took off his coat, motioning at someone to grab him a towel. He got the towel, wrapping it gently around his shoulders, then walked him to a sitting room where he made him a glass of hot chocolate.
`Blaine, what were you doing out there..?`
Blaine looked up at him, his eyes blown wide with fear, his pupils small and his body quivering.
`I... I... It... He...`
Thomas rubbed his back gently, sighing.
`I`m going to get someone quickly, will you just wait a moment son?`
Blaine nodded silently, staring into the hot chocolate. Thomas rose from his seat, walking down the hall quickly. He returned a moment later, Ebony following in behind him. Blaine looked up, taking in her appearance. She was wearing black sweats and pink socks, as well as a pink and black striped tank top. Her purple-black hair cascaded in curls down her face and over her shoulders, her glasses sitting atop her nose gently. She blinked at Blaine, then looked at Thomas. Blaine stared inquisitively. He knew Thomas had a room in the station to stay in when he was busy with work, but did Ebony live here as well..?
Ebony sat down in front of Blaine, putting a hand on his knee comfortingly.
`Blaine, what happened?`
Blaine looked up, pulling out his phone. He handed it to her, and she opened the call history, her eyes widening gently as she saw the most recent incoming call number. She knew that number. She ran out, and came running back with her laptop. She plugged the phone into her computer, typing in a bunch of codes and suddenly a static noise came fromt he computer.
`If you don`t get out of Lima in the next five days, I will make sure your blood is all over the roof.`
The call cut out and Ebony stared wide-eyed to Thomas and he rubbed his face gently, sighing. Blaine`s eyes began to swell with tears and he sniffled, and Ebony sat next to him rubbing his back gently. He blinked, feeling a strange warmth from her, a calming effect. Like they were connected somehow. He looked up at her, staring into her hazel eyes as she stared at him with fear and concern.
`Blaine, we`re going to make sure he does nothing to hurt you. Thomas will call out a squad to go to the house and make sure your dad can`t do anything to you.`
Blaine`s eyes narrowed gently.
`How did you know it was my dad.`
Ebony blinked, opening her mouth to speak.
`I.. It just seemed like...`
Blaine stared at her full-on, and Thomas shifted in the background, knowing what was happening. Blaine knew.
`Ebony... How did you know that was my dad!`
Blaine`s voice became more hurt, angry, and Ebony sighed sadly.
`Blaine... I`m the older sister mom and dad told you was dead.`
Blaine stared at her, his eyes impossibly wide. He looked at her unruly curls, just like his. Her dazzling hazel eyes, like his. Her bright, wide smile. Just like his. Blaine shook his head, tears falling.
`Why would they lie like that...? Even mom! I can`t believe...`
Ebony stared at him, knowing he was utterly confused and betrayed. Blaine looked at her, tears falling down his face.
`What happened to you?`
Ebony closed her eyes, feeling her own tears swell up. She sighed, laughing sadly.
`Well, in the end it was all in vain, but...`
Ebony sat on the couch, tickling her baby brother`s tummy as he giggled happily, holding a lock of her curly hair in his small fingers. His bright hazel eyes shone up at her as his cheerful, toothless smile grew before her.
`Thomas, you need to grow up and start acting your age!`
`And you need to learn your place, Mary!`
`And where exactly is my place, Thomas!`
`You damn well know where it is, and it is not in a man`s business.`
`You sexist little-`
Ebony cringed as she heard the slap ring out throughout the air, her mother`s soft cries following after. She said nothing. She kept tickling Blaine. She had to take care of Blaine, forever.
`Thomas, I`m sorry.`
`Good. Now go.`
Thomas walked into the living room, staring at his daughter and son.
`Ebony, I got a call from your teacher today.`
Ebony stared back at him, unsure where this was going.
`She says you keep going on about painting. Forever.`
Ebony swallowed thickly. She knew her father wanted her to be a doctor, or anything that made a large amount of money. She looked down and refused to look at her father.
`Look at me.`
She glanced up under her eyelashes and was met with the hateful glare of her father`s green eyes.
`You will stop this nonsense. Painting is not a career.`
Ebony put Blaine down in his play pen and turned to her father.
`I love painting, dad. I`m not good at anything else.`
`More like you aren`t good at anything.`
Ebony bit back a gasp; this was her father.
`You`re supposed to be a man, but yet you treat your daughter like she`s worthless! What kind of man are you?`
His eyes flashed and he growled.
`Who are you to tell me what it takes to be a man? I have the power in this house, you will stop talking back and know your place. Go to your room.`
Ebony glared. She was 14, she didn`t deserve to deal with this.
`No.`
Thomas stared at her.
`What did you say?`
`You heard me, dad.`
Thomas stepped towards her, forcefully grabbing her hair, and dragged her up the stairs. She screamed and Mary screamed after him, begging him to stop. He grabbed Ebony`s suitcase, filled it with clothes and various other things, threw it downt he stairs, and pushed her down. She screamed as she thudded agaisnt the wall and stairs, hitting the floor with a sickening thud. She stood, crying, and heard her baby brother wailing. She headed to step towards Blaine but was met with a hard slap across her face. She held her face and saw her father standing with his belt in hand.
`GOD THOMAS, PLEASE STOP!`
Thomas ignored his wife`s calls and his son`s cries. He stared at Ebony, opening the door. He pushed her out and threw her suitcase, her belongings scattering everywhere. She stared up at him and he slammed the door shut. She lifted her hand towards the door, her sobs catching in her throat.
`...B..Blaine...`
Blaine sat with his head in his hands, shaking his head sadly, not wanting to believe what he was hearing.
`Thomas found me in an alley a few days after that, and I started staying with him after that. It was weird going from one Thomas to another, but it was nice seeing not everyone who holds that name is awful.`
Thomas shook his head sadly.
`I wasn`t deputy at the time and we knew his wife would say nothign so we had no justifiable witness. You were barely just a year old at the time.`
Blaine took in a deep breath, staring at Ebony.
`So... You`re my sister... Who they told me died in an accident when I was young.`
`Yes. I`m sorry. I wasn`t going to tell you. I thought it would have been better that way.`
Blaine nodded, breathing in deeply.
`I understand... I understand... I just... I`m confused... It`s a lot to take in, and i`m scared.`
Ebony rubbed between his shoulder blades gently, trying to soothe him.
`I`ve saved the recording of the call to my computer files, i`ve also traced the number back proving it came from his house. He`ll be arrested by tomorrow evening.`
`But... What about Burt and Carole? I`m scared he`s going to go try and hurt them!`
`Do you want us to go send a police car to stand watch?`
`It would be nice... God I don`t know how to deal with this right now... I just want Kurt, I want Kurt back! I just want Kurt!`
His tears began to flow freely, and he shook violently, sobbing. He ran his hands over his face and neck, through his damp curls. He shook his head, just wanting everything to stop. To go back to before any of this happened. Before he was kicked out. Before Kurt was kidnapped. Before he was raped. Twice. He just wanted everything to be normal for once.
Ebony kissed his head gently, hugging him tightly.
`Do you want to go visit Kurt? It`s not late at night. Visiting hours are until eight and it`s only five.`
`I`ve already gone to see him twice...`
Ebony smiled, rubbing his cheek.
`You really think he`d complain about a third time?`
Blaine smiled weakly. Ebony took him to her room, handing him some sweats and a baggy shirt to change into, an escape from his damp clothes.
`Here put these on. I`ll go grab you a jacket and some dry shoes and i`ll drive. Let`s go see Kurt.`
Burt and Carole sat in the living room, making simple conversation. Burt stood as he heard the doorbell go off, and he opened it.
`Hello- what..?`
He stared at the man with a toque and large glasses on, as well as a scarf and a long jacket. He pulled his hand out from under the jacket, revealing a gun. He pulled the trigger, shooting Burt in the stomach. Burt screamed and fell to the floor, and the man ran away from the door, jumping in his car and driving away. Carole screamed, running over to Burt. He yelled in pain, and Carole ran to the phone, calling the police.
`Lima, Ohio police station, Thomas here.`
Thomas? Burt just got shot, some man came in and shot him!`
`What? Oh god... I`ll send an ambulance there. I`ll meet you at the hospital.`
Carole hung up the phone, running back over to Burt, running her hands over his head soothingly.
`It`ll be okay. It`ll all be okay...`
`Kurt? Kurt, baby wake up.`
Kurt`s eyes fluttered open gently. He saw curly brown hair and hazel eyes greeting him and he smiled sleepily.
`Blainey...`
He heard a soft feminine giggle and his eyes shot open. He turned and saw an unfamiliar girl with long, purple-black curly hair, and hazel eyes to match Blaine`s.
`Blaine.. Who...`
Blaine smiled weakly, brushing Kurt`s hair with his hand.
`This, apparently, is my sister.`
Kurt`s mouth hung slack.
`I thought she was...`
`I know. Me too.`
Kurt stared at her.
`I see the resemblance, but how..`
`Blainers wasn`t the only one who got kicked out, sadly.`
Kurt stared at her, sitting up to hug her.
`I`m so sorry. No one should have to deal with that excuse of a man.`
Ebony laughed, pulling back.
`Funny. That`s basically what I said to make him kick me out. I wanted to be an artist, but he was opposed. It was all in vain since I work for the police force now, but...`
Kurt smiled gently, turning to Blaine.
`Why did you guys come to visit? You`ve been here twice already, Blaine.`
Blaine sat down on a chair next to the bed.
`Kurt... Remember how I was really pale today and I just told you I had gone for a run?`
Kurt nodded slowly, and Blaine`s eyes began to get watery again.
`I lied to you, Kurt. Something happened, and I didn`t want to scare you.`
Kurt stiffened, staring at him intently.
`Blaine... What happened...`
Blaine looked up at him, about to explain, when suddenly a nurse came rushing in.
`Um, Kurt Hummel?`
Kurt nodded, staring at her in suprise.
`Your father, he`s in the OR...`
Kurt`s eyes went wide and his jaw dropped.
`Wh...`
Kurt bolted off the bed, running out of the room and down the hall. Nurses called after him, as well as Ebony and Blaine, who chased after him, close behind. Kurt pushed through people and ran down the halls, running as fast as he could. He ran up the stairs and down another hall, glancing in the overhead windows and he saw it. His father. He pushed open the watching balcony doors and ran up to the glass, staring down at him, his breathing heavy. Blaine and Ebony came in behind him, staring. Kurt put his hand on the glass, watching as doctors flurried around him in a panic.
`Dad...`
Suddenly the heart monitor`s jumping line went flat, and he could hear screams through the speakers and he screamed, pounding the glass.
`NO! DAD! NO! DADDY!`
Blaine pulled him away from the glass, and Kurt punched and kicked him, his state of distress so high he even bit him. Blaine ignored the pain and held tight, pressing his face against Kurt`s neck. Ebony cried gently into her hand, and Kurt could feel Blaine`s tears running down his back. Kurt screamed, flailing loudly.
`DAD! DON`T LEAVE ME! PLEASE! DAD!`
Kurt sat on the bed in the psych ward silently. He was speaking with the doctor who had operated on his father. He nodded his head gently, smiling weakly as the doctor left. He looked up, acknowledging Blaine and Ebony. They walked back in the room and Kurt sighed.
`He`s stable. They got his pulse back and got the bullet out. He`s going to be okay.`
Blaine and Ebony nodded. Blaine reached out to take Kurt`s hand but Kurt snapped his hand away. Blaine stared at him, evidently hurt. Kurt sighed, rubbing his forehead.
`I almost lost my dad again, Blaine... I just don`t want to be touched right now, this isn`t a blow at you.`
Blaine bit his lip, feeling light anger boil in his stomach.
`My dad threatened to kill me today, Kurt. I think in all technicality I have lost my dad. But yet you`re upset that I wanted to hold your hand to calm you down over the fact that your dad was hurt, but is going to be okay...`
Kurt stared up at him, his eyes beginning to burn.
`Blaine, I do not want to fight with you... That`s the last thing I want.`
Blaine looked away, biting his lip. He didn`t want to fight either. That was the last thing he wanted. Kurt was all he had. Blaine sighed softly, shaking as he walked towards the door.
`Blaine, what...`
`I`m going to go.. I should go...`
`Blaine...`
Kurt stared up at him, and Blaine tore his eyes away, turning and walking down the hall. Kurt felt a tear run down his cheek and Ebony wiped it away gently. Kurt looked up at her and she smiled weakly.
`It`ll be okay. He just needs to calm down. The last thing he wants to do is say something out of stress that would hurt you. You`re literally all he has, Kurt. You have your dad and Carole and Finn... Blaine just really needs you.`
Kurt nodded, sighing, wiping his tears away.
`I need him too... I just... I don`t know what my excuse is, actually...`
Ebony sighed, rubbing his back.
`Want me to come here at 8 when visiting hours open? I`ll bring coffee. And Blaine, if you want me to.`
Kurt smiled, nodding.
`That`d be a nice way to start the morning.`
Ebony nodded, smiling.
`Alright. It`s a deal.`
Blaine sat on Kurt`s bed, fingering the sheets gently. Carole was asleep in the master bedroom; She had arrived home just a few minutes ago after she knew Burt was gently asleep. He breathed in Kurt`s scent, closing his eyes dreamily. He remembered his small fight with Kurt, the way Kurt looked at him with anger and felt his wrists begin to burn. He shook his head, rolling over.
`No... Kurt wouldn`t want me to...`
The voices in his head began to tell him otherwise. He whimpred, flipping back and forth on the bed. He inhaled deeply, standing as they came to a high point. He darted to the bathroom, ripping the cupboard open. He grabbed the razor he had hidden, flipping it in his palm. He stared at himself in the mirror, and tears began to fall.
He tored off his shirt, and pulled the blade across his stomach and chest, soon enough his torso and sides covered in blood and cuts, some scratches, some fairly deep; but it wasn`t enough. He needed more. He ran the blade across his left wrist, hissing in pain but it was followed by a sweet, sickly numbness. He continued all the way up to his elbows, getting deeper and deeper, repeating on his other arm. He dropped the bloody razor in the sink, staring at the bloodstained tile floor. He stripped off his pants and boxers, running water in the shower. He groaned as it hit his cuts but he gritted his teeth, stepping in, letting the water wash the blood away. He sat down in the shower, crying gently into his hands. He stared at the blood red water cascading down his body and his sobs intensified.
He wasn`t good enough for Kurt.
He never will be.
The next morning, Kurt sat at one of the tables in the main room of the psych ward. He was doodling away absentmindedly when the smell of coffee filled the air. He looked up to see Blaine standing, holding coffee. Kurt smiled, pulling out the chair next to him. Blaine sat, handing him the coffee.
`Ebony couldn`t make it. Got called in to work. `
Kurt nodded, sipping from the coffee, the sheer bliss of it sliding down his throat soothingly.
Kurt looked at Blaine, eyebrows rising. He was wearing a black longsleeve as well as a jacket.
`Cold, Blaine?`
Blaine laughed nervously.
`Yeah, I think I have a fever or something.`
`Yeah, maybe. It`s really hot out, so it`s weird seeing someone in that. Most guys are going around shirtless this time of year.`
Blaine nodded.
`Yeah..`
Kurt stared at him, looking at his eyes. They were staring hard into the table, his fingers fidgeting loosely, his mouth a tight line. Kurt knew that look. Kurt put his hand over Blaine`s, stilling his fingers, causing Blaine to look at him.
`Blaine... Tell me.`
Blaine swallowed tightly.
`Tell you what, Kurt...?`
`What you did.`
Blaine took in a shaky breath, looking down. He grabbed Kurt`s hand and pulled him into Kurt`s room, closing the door. Blaine turned to him, taking off his jacket.
`Kurt, please don`t be mad at me...`
Kurt said nothing, but nodded. Blaine removed his shirt, wincing and Kurt put his hand over his mouth, his other on the counter, steadying himself.
`Oh, god Blaine...`
Blaine began to cry, bringing his hands to his face, covering his tears. Kurt stepped forward, moving his hands away, kissing his tears. He kissed down his neck and hugged him gently.
`God, Blaine, why... Why...`
Blaine hugged him back, his tears coming down hard.
`I couldn`t stop thinking about how i was so close to arguing with you... And the stress of my dad, and not being able to help you, or Burt, or Ebony, i just felt so useless... I can`t help anyone, I can`t do anything...`
Kurt pulled back, kissing Blaine to silence. Blaine kissed back gingerly, and gasped when Kurt reached his tongue out, licking his lip. Kurt slid his tongue into Blaine`s mouth, swirling it around Blaine`s, sucking on the boy`s tongue softly, causing Blaine to moan. He put all the love and passion he could into that kiss, trying to show Blaine how wrong he was.
Kurt pulled back, panting softly, leaning his forehead on Blaine`s.
`I will never... Ever kiss someone like that, Blaine. Never. I love you Blaine, i fucking love you. I always will. You are important. You mean the world to me and I don`t know what i`d do without you. Okay? Please believe me.`
Blaine sniffled, nodding softly.
`Okay. Okay..`
Kurt smiled, kissing Blaine`s cheek again. He handed Blaine his shirt and after Blaine pulled it on, they laid down on the bed together, just holding each other sweetly, cuddling, mumbling sweet nothings to each other.
At the end of the day, this is how it was when they were together.
Kurt loved Blaine.
Blaine loved Kurt.
And that was as intricate as it got.
I`m gonna end this chapter here, there`s been quite a bit of excitement in this one, and it`s long, so . Hope you guys enjoyed it, review, opinion, you know the drill!
