Chapter 24

*note: This part was slightly inspired by that place Nova (the pink fairy?) took Grumpy (Dreamy) in FTL. You'll know what I'm talking about as you read.

Regina sighed peacefully as she felt the weight of another body.

mmm…she fell asleep on top of me. Again.

She smiled, slowly opened her eyes, and saw Emma sprawled on top of her. She was getting used to Emma's warmth, her arm being wrapped around her waist, legs entwined with hers-she'd been waking up to this nearly everyday for the past week at this cabin.

Regina loved waking up this way.

She brought both of her arms up and wrapped them around Emma's back. She kissed the mess of blonde waves that were spread over her chest. She brushed some of the long curls aside to plant a kiss on Emma's shoulder. Emma's breath was softly falling against her neck.

"Good morning, honey" she whispered into Emma's ear, trailing her hand over her smooth back, caressing.

"mmmh" Emma stirred slightly and nuzzled closer to her neck.

"It's our last day here, do you want to spend it sleeping in bed?" Regina murmured, hugging Emma tightly to wake her up.

"mmm…sleeping no…in bed…sure…" Emma purred. Regina felt the smile against her skin. She felt a hand trail down her body under their blanket.

"Nah-uh I think you had more than enough of that last night" She clamped her legs together, locking Emma's hand in between them.

"But you'll love it" whispered Emma.

"I would, but I want to shower first. Eat. Hydrate. Take a walk or something you know. Then we can come back to this."

"How about I make love to you now, then in the shower, then fuck you in the kitchen over breakfast and then-

Regina cut her off with a firm kiss, to which Emma responded eagerly. Emma lifted her head and sucked on her lips. Her tongue traced Regina's.

"As tempting as that idea sounds dear, I need to shower. I'm much too sweaty and sticky from last night. Besides, we've spent the entire week fucking like teenagers, don't you at least want to go outside and explore a little before we leave this place?" Regina asked as their kiss broke.

"I guess…" Emma mumbled. Regina sensed the disappointment in her voice.

"I'll take you somewhere you'll absolutely love. It's just within the woods, we've to hike up a trail, it's a bit of a climb but totally worth it, trust me." Emma looked up at her. Regina smiled at the sleepy green eyes, "We'll still have the entire night to ourselves" she winked.

"Alright. I'm up for it." Emma smiled and kissed her neck. Regina slowly squirmed under Emma's body and slipped out of the bed. Emma groaned.

"Sorry, love, but if we're hiking today we really have so much to do before we go. I'm going to shower first. You should as well, take the other bathroom down the hall."

Emma grumbled within the pillows, Regina chuckled and walked towards the bathroom, shaking her head.

The water was soothing, not too warm or too cold. It sprayed softly over Regina's skin. She was reaching for the scrub when heard the doors slide open. The dry limbs pressed against her under the shower as water ran down the strong arms holding her, drenching their skin quickly.

"If I'm hiking with you today then I get to do this. And you can't complain cause we're technically still showering" Emma smirked, trailing her hand over Regina's torso from behind, "it just comes with sex"

"Mmm…not complaining at all…" Regina sighed as Emma's hand kneaded her breasts under the raining water.

She felt the warm desire at the pit of her stomach as a hand slowly trailed down her dripping body. She gasped clutching Emma's wet curls, as fingers entered her and pushed deep inside. She felt Emma push into her hips, fingers entering her folds and her hands squeezing each breast in turn. She felt Emma kiss the back of her neck, and lick the trailing water droplets.

The sun was nearly setting in the horizon by the time they reached the clearing. The sky had turned a warm shade of red, the clouds were almost orange.

Emma stood beside Regina and stared at the view before her. Her breath caught in her throat.

They were standing on top of a cliff looking over the lakes and the endless treetops. Little lights gleamed here and there, from tiny cottages and cabins just like theirs. Birds flew over the treetops, chirping and calling out to their mates. Emma could just make out the city lights far away in the horizon.

Regina leaned on her shoulder, arm lacing through hers as they watched the sun set.

"It's beautiful…" Emma sighed, holding Regina close to her.

"I told you" Regina murmured.

They set up their blanket and opened the picnic basket. As the shadow of the night slowly fell over them Emma reached for the torch inside her bag, but Regina stopped her.

"Just wait, hon, you'll see" she smiled sweetly.

True enough, only minutes after the moon peeked through the clouds, Emma watched, amazed as countless little glowing dots appeared before her eyes and spread throughout the bushes and trees. Their lights twinkled like the stars as they danced happily around the two women.

"Fireflies!" Emma beamed excitedly as Regina nodded.

The sight was gorgeous, the little fireflies, the moon hovering above them, the light breeze brushing their skin and the best of all, Regina leaning close to her- Emma sighed happily. She wrapped her arm over Regina's back and watched.

"Thank you for bringing me here" Emma whispered after a while.

Regina looked up into her eyes, "I wanted to share this place with my wife, I've been here before but feels different with you" she lowered her head on Emma's shoulder.

"It's so much better with you here, hon" she murmured.

Emma kissed Regina's forehead, then dipped her head lower to capture her lips. Regina sighed into their kiss, circling her arm around Emma's waist.

Emma felt herself being pushed back on the blanket. Regina didn't break the kiss as she moved to lie on top of her. Emma's back pressed against the hard forest ground but she didn't care. Her mind was focused on Regina's lips, her tongue, the sweet taste of her mouth on hers- she sighed as the kiss continued.

Regina's hands fumbled with her shirt buttons as she sucked on Emma's lips- she managed to take off the garment after a while. She flung it away carelessly and moved her hand down to Emma's pants.

Emma gasped into Regina's mouth as she felt Regina's hand slip through the front of her pants.
