Gah first Megstiel fic! I feel like a lot of these are completely irrational and set up in strange situations that could never happen, but then there are the beautifully constructed ones that just couldn't be better and make you swell with feels. So I'm gonna shoot for the later . . .
Based in Cas's time at the mental hospital.
Bzzzzz
Ugh. There it was again. That sound.
"Cas!" Meg called from her own room in the mental ward that was directly attached to the unstable angel's. She needed to be close, just in case. Hospital's orders. "One of your bees got out again!"
Taking his own sweet time, Cas slowly migrated into Meg's bedroom. He looked around the room until his eyes rested on the bug, which was currently buzzing around Meg's head.
She wasn't even quite sure how or where Cas kept those damn things. There was no way the hospital knew about it or else they'd have them taken away.
Cas held his hands up in the air, revealing what he had been hiding in the pockets of his trench coat. In one hand he held a jar, and in the other he held the lid. Carefully, he approached the insect and tricked it into flying into the jar, then slammed down the lid. He held it out to Meg, grinning broadly. "Better! Look Meg! Meg! Meg, I fixed it for you!"
For a split second, Meg's face fell. This is truly what had become of her favorite holy puppet? He could hardly be called an angel any more-he could hardly be called a person. He was more like a hallow shell. And he wanted to do was please her. Though she'd never admit it, the thought made her heart sink. His only mission in life was to make her happy-but he once had soo much to live for. He had had the spark of life in him. He had made out with her, a demon, in the middle of a life or death situation for no other reason than that he thought it was like a porn he had seen for Christ's sake! Perhaps he didn't do such a bang-up job of showing his emotions and character and personality, but you couldn't deny that it was there. He was the raggedy angel that had rebelled against heaven and God's plan to help two boys he had only just met. He had allowed himself to befriend a demon. Everything he did was the opposite of what one would expect! And now . . . Now he was just a veggie in a coat.
But even now . . . She felt somehow attached to the fallen angel. "Nostalgia" was the lie she told herself. The truth was too scary. Demons aren't supposed to . . .
So she put on a big fake smile and patted the back of his neck. "Good job! Thanks Cas!"
And then she helped him open a window to release the bee from. As it flew away, he smiled and looked down at her. "Thanks, Meg."
