When Malie finally stopped hugging Anuenue and went to sit with Shenu and Rinia, Anuenue quietly ate the dried fruit Kokua gave her, while listening as Kokua told Rinia, Lari and her about their journey there.
Everyone jumped as a deep rumble reverberate and the sound of things falling could be heard, Onua's shadow twin quickly went out for a better look and came back a few minutes later with Kokua's shadow twin.
She hugged Kokua, as Onua'' explained what she'd told him and the other shadow twins, while they talked about that and how to evacuate the matoran and Turaga Anuenue, she yawned, smiled at Kokua and the shadow twins, then settled to rest some more, as her eyes closed, Makeo crooned softly.

Stretching as she opened her eyes, Anuenue smiled at Lhikan and Alani, then sat up looking around for Phira, Atinu and Nahele, they were sitting nearby watching and smiled as she glanced over at them.
"How are the Toa?" Anuenue asked, as she joined them, Nahele showed her the image they'd been watching and she watched as Axonn launched a massive ball of lava at Hakann, incinerating him.
They sat there for a few more minutes, Anuenue was concerned about the volcano and was just about to ask Nahele for a closer look, when Lhikan murmured that the Great Spirit had asked to see her.
Following Turaga Lhikan, Anuenue wondered why Mata Nui wanted to see her, then paused as she realized that the mist was far brighter than when she'd been there the first time, Lhikan nodded when Anuenue commented about it.
"Yes sister, you're right. It's a sign that his spirit will soon be fully recovered." Lhikan replied, as they entered the clear area where the Great Spirit was.
At first glance Anuenue thought he was asleep, but when Mata Nui opened his eyes, she realized he'd been meditating, smiling at both Turaga, the Great Spirit nodded at Turaga Lhikan, who bowed, stepped back and sat down.
Sensing that Mata Nui wanted her to join him, Anuenue walked over and bowed when she reached where he was sitting.
The Great Spirit watched as Turaga Anuenue stopped, bowed then looked up at him, gently taking her hand, Mata Nui drew Anuenue closer and sat her down in front of him.
"Thank you for sharing this mask." he smiled, holding out to her the song-made mask, surprised Anuenue blushed and accepted it, resting the mask on her lap, she looked into Mata Nui's eyes.
Reaching out, the Great Spirit touched the mask Turaga Anuenue wore, "It is time this mask was activated." he murmured, as she gazed up at him, feeling warmth spreading through the mask.
"Let Malie, Kokua and her shadow twin know it's time." Mata Nui added, Turaga Anuenue nodded, then glanced at the mask in her lap before putting it on, it glowed brightly then vanished.
"What mask do I wear now?" Turaga Anuenue wondered, as she sat in front of the Great Spirit and her eyes began closing, feeling herself being carefully placed down into the mist, Anuenue's spirit returned to sleep.
Mata Nui smiled enigmatically then leaned close to her and whispered, "Do not worry about your Ruaorea, it will be safe."

Waking up suddenly, Anuenue glanced around to see where Kokua, her shadow twin and Malie were, startling Makeo, who'd rested his head on her hand.
Reassuring him, the rainbow hued Turaga asked where Kokua and her shadow twin were, Shenu went to where they were with Dalu, Balta, Kongu and Lewa's shadow twin, while he did that, she sat up and smiled at Malie.
"The green light sphere you carry, I think it's time." Turaga Anuenue whispered to Malie as he hugged her, looking at her curiously Malie nodded then glanced up at Kokua and her shadow twin as they joined them.
"What is it sister?" Kokua asked kneeling beside Malie, "I was asked to tell you it's time. Will you sing for us?"
Kokua glanced at her shadow twin, who grinned and nodded, then they and Malie moved to the middle of the room, everyone who were awake, roused their friends and told them what was happening.
Glancing around at the quietly watching matoran, Kokua felt a bit nervous, then caught Anuenue's gaze and smiled as she felt her shadow twin take her hand, Malie smiled up at both of them, then took out the green light sphere.
As he did Kokua and her shadow twin began singing softly, their voices blending together, while they sang, the light sphere floated from Malie's hands, it's glow growing brighter in strength until it floated above them.
The sphere then lost it's shape and turned into a gently glowing mist which spread throughout the room, covering everyone infected with the virus.
Watching the mist as it was absorbed into the matoran and herself, Anuenue felt somehow restored and as it vanished, carefully stood, picked up her staff and walked towards the door.
Aikane's shadow twin joined her, while the matoran watched, murmuring amongst themselves, Kokua and her shadow twin hugged, as Malie offered them a water canister.
Pausing when she reached the door, Turaga Anuenue glanced up at Aikane's shadow twin who smiled, "Lets go for a walk." she murmured, Anuenue nodded and stepped through the door.
Stunned silence swept through the room, then the Ko-matoran twins whom Kazi had been talking with, glanced at each other before cautiously following the Turaga and shadow twin Toa out the building.
When they didn't return, the rest of the matoran slowly made their way from the room, Jaller and the others helping the injured, they found Turaga Anuenue, Aikane's shadow twin and the twins by the corner of the building.
Everyone looked up at Mount Valmai, the summit was hidden by dark clouds shot through with flashes of sparks, as Anuenue looked up at the volcano worriedly, Aikane called out to me.
"Sister, tell Kazi it's time to ask Haki." her voice sounded strange, as though she was struggling to breath, "I will, what's wrong sister?" Anuenue replied anxiously, then listened intently.
For several minutes there was no reply, then a searing pain cut through her head and Anuenue heard Gali and Amaya cry out silently in pain with her, tears streamed down her mask as she looked for Kazi so she could pass on Aikane's final message.
xXx
Staggering as the volcano quaked again, Onua supported Gali and Kopaka as the steadily increasing heat began to effect them and glanced at Wairuha's shadow twin, he nodded concerned, moving closer to help.
While Tahu and Pohatu lent a hand with Takanuva, Aikane glanced to where Lewa and Amaya were helping Alohi's shadow twin keep watch on the remaining Piraka.
Zaktan was swearing about Hakann's demise, while Thok and Vezok were moving sluggishly as the heat took it's toll on them, Avak kept trying to see where Kokua's shadow twin was.
Turning his attention to Aikane, Zaktan's eyes began glowing as he began to cut away the ground beneath her feet, causing Aikane to stumble and fall towards him.
"No, sister!" Takanuva yelled, trying to grab hold of her arm, only to miss by inches, as Aikane suddenly stumbled and fell.
The other Toa watched horrified, as she tumbled towards Zaktan, his slow smile broadened evilly, then Alohi's shadow twin defended the stunned Toa from Avak's barrage and Vezok's and Thok's slightly weaker attacks.
Coming to a sudden stop, Aikane gasped as she struck something, then shook her head to clear the dizziness, on hearing a sinister chuckle, she looked up into Zaktan's still glowing eyes.
Aikane could see her Quarter-staff lay within reach and made a grab for it, only to snatch her hand back as Zaktan scored the ground with his laser vision.
Before Aikane could try anything else, the protodites of Zaktan's form moved to flow over Aikane's mask, preventing her from breathing.
Zaktan watched coldly as Aikane began frantically to try and brush the protodites away so that she could breath, Aikane's struggles then slowed and stopped as her heartlight dimmed, suddenly blazed brightly then went out.
Caught unaware by the sudden flash of light, Zaktan stumbled back, blinded, into a vent which opened under his feet, the protodites melting and evaporating in the superheated jet of steam and lava which shot out.
Akamai's shadow twin helped Axonn to his feet and they stumbled to where the Toa of Twilight's lifeless form lay, on reaching her, Axonn lifted Aikane up as Akamai's shadow twin spoke with Wairuha's and Alohi's.
"Take hold and close your eyes." Akamai's shouted, as Axonn grabbed Aikane's Quarter-staff, Axonn nodded and clasped hold of his arm, Akamai's shadow twin swiftly disappeared with him and reappeared to catch hold of Tahu and Pohatu.
Alohi's shadow twin took hold of Amaya, Lewa and Takanuva, hugging Amaya as she wept, while Wariuha took Gali's, Kopaka's and Onua's arms and hand, then all of them vanished into the shadows, just split seconds before another vent opened, spewing lava directly over the remaining Piraka, who were trying to flee.
For a while the Toa and Axonn walked with the shadow twins, then when they stopped, Alohi's sorrow-filled voice whispered, "You can open your eyes."
"We're safe for a while." Wairuha's added, after looking around, the Toa gathered around Axonn while he carefully placed Aikane's lifeless form down, Amaya and Gali hugged, tears streaming down their masks, while their brothers bowed their heads, rubbing the tears from their masks.
"Toa Gali, Amaya, are you alr... OH NO!" Macku's shocked voice reached the Toa, glancing up through her tears, Gali saw Macku, the other matoran, the rest of the shadow twin Toa, Kokua, her shadow twin, Makeo, hissing anxiously and a grief stricken Turaga, who was being led by six stunned looking matoran coming towards them.
As the matoran glanced around, getting use to finally being free, Kewe noticed Turaga Anuenue suddenly stiffen and turn pale, before tears began flowing down her mask.
When she glanced around, he was going to see if he could help, then she walked over to where Kazi stood, talking with Acirru and several other matoran
"Kazi, Aikane told me to tell you it's time." Anuenue managed to whisper, when he turned to find out what she had to say, then Kokua's shadow twin knelt beside the rainbow hued Turaga as she broke down and cried.
Startled by Turaga Anuenue bursting into tears, Malie rushed over to where Kokua's shadow twin was gently folding her wings around Anuenue.
"What does Turaga Anuenue mean?" Eilek asked concerned, as Kazi glanced around for Haki, spotting him chatting with Dezalk, Acha and Lari.
"Tell you later." Kazi replied as they went over to the others, "Can you find Shenu, Ferus, Tane, Resha and Lehua and ask them to join us?"
"On it." Eilek nodded, dashing off to find them, reaching Haki, Kazi asked if he'd come over to where Turaga Anuenue was, intrigued, Haki nodded, as Acha, Lari and Dezalk grinned and watched as their friends walked over to join the others.
Quietly Shenu, Resha, Haki, Ferus, Lehua and Tane watched as Kazi told Turaga Anuenue that he'd gathered them and waited for her to say something, for a few minutes Kokua's shadow twin didn't move then slowly folded her wings back.
Silently Anuenue looked at them and glanced around, then sighed, "It is your destiny to become Toa, but we need to wait for the Toa to join us." she whispered, as fresh tears began to trickle down her mask.
"Toa, US!" Shenu exclaimed stunned as they glanced at each other shocked.
Turaga Anuenue nodded, as she turned towards Aikane's shadow twin, Malie close beside her, by now all the matoran knew something was amiss and quietly followed her, softly talking amongst themselves.
Kokua listened as Kopaka's shadow twin told her what had taken place and stifled her tears, as he finished then hugged Aikane's while Anuenue joined them.
Gazing up at her sister's shadow twin, Anuenue was trying to stem more tears as she knelt beside her, "Real sis, I will stay for as long as I can." she whispered, brushing her tears away, Anuenue nodded and hugged her, "Thank you." she whispered.
"Our brothers and sisters have brought the Toa and Axonn to safety. Shall we join them?" Takanuva's shadow twin gently asked, as Aikane's stood up again, everyone looked at Turaga Anuenue who silently nodded, as Resha, Lehua, Shenu, Ferus and Tane joined her, Haki was still talking with Kazi.
Leaving the area where they'd been forced to work, Haki moved to walk with his friends and Turaga Anuenue, after a couple of bio, Makeo was hissing anxiously as everyone walked around an outcrop.
"Toa Gali, Amaya are you alr... OH NO!" Macku exclaimed, shocked as she and the others saw the Toa, Axonn and the shadow twins standing around Aikane's lifeless form.
The matoran, Makeo and Kokua stopped to let Turaga Anuenue join the Toa and Axonn, while the shadow twins kept a wary eye on Mount Valmai.
Gali and Amaya knelt down to hug Anuenue, as she reached them, then silently looked at their fallen sister, as everyone watched, a silvery/white glow appeared nearby and formed itself into the ghostly image of Atinu.
Silently he passed his hand over Aikane's body, then somehow took his mask from where Aikane had placed it and handed it to Anuenue.
xXx
When the protodites covered Aikane's mask, she managed to catch a quick breath, then as she tried to take another, realized what was happening, though she tried to stay calm, Aikane found her body fighting for breath.
"Sister, tell Kazi it's time to ask Haki." Aikane managed to gasp silently, as she lost consciousness, she then felt her spirit leaving her body as its struggles slowed and stopped.
xXx
Aikane winced as she felt the telepathic link shared with her sisters break, then closed her eyes and wept, when she opened them again, Aikane found she was being held by the Great Spirit, Atinu was sitting close by.
Carefully brushing the last of the tears away, Aikane gazed up at Mata Nui, "Will you let Atinu remove his mask and pass it to Turaga Anuenue?" he gently asked, as he hugged His distressed Daughter, Aikane nodded as she stifled a sob
"Yes Father." Aikane murmured, before her spirit lost consciousness
Atinu bowed to the Great Spirit, as he gently lifted Aikane's unconscious spirit up, Mata Nui smiled, inclining his head, then watched Atinu disappear from view, before clearing the mist to watch.
"Sleep deeply Daughter. It is not yet your destiny to enter legend." Mata Nui whispered, as he watched Atinu handing Turaga Anuenue his mask before bowing to her and the Toa and vanishing.
When Atinu rejoined the Great Spirit, he glanced at Aikane while they walked to where Turaga Lhikan and the other spirit Toa sat, looking worriedly at the image Nahele had called up.
"There's not much time before the volcano goes completely." Alani murmured, glancing at Mata Nui as he sat nearby, the Great Spirit nodded, "The shadow twins will get them to safety." He calmly replied.
xXx
When Atinu vanished, after squeezing Turaga Anuenue's hand gently, she glanced at Amaya, "Sister, I believe you carry Phira's mask." she quietly said, while Takanuva and Lewa glanced at each other, but kept quiet, remembering how Atinu had reactivated his mask.
Amaya nodded, carefully taking the mask out and passing it to Anuenue, then they watched as she returned to where Kazi, Haki, Shenu, Resha, Ferus, Lehua and Tane stood.
At Turaga Anuenue's nod, Kazi asked Haki what he'd seen on his shift in the seaway tunnel, Haki looked blank, then murmured, "There was a chiming noise which I followed to a small chamber, in it was a casket in which was four Great Kanohi and I..." Haki gasped, "I have them with me!" passing the two masks she carried to Resha and Tane, Turaga Anuenue nodded, "Pass them to your friends." she murmured.
Still looking stunned, Haki took out the masks and handed Ferus, Lehua and Shenu the ones that matched their colours, as they took hold of them, the masks began to softly glow.
Gathering close around Turaga Anuenue, they glanced at each other then silently put the masks on, everyone quietly watched as the glow grew stronger, hiding the matoran from sight for a few moments, before fading away to reveal the six new Toa, who glanced at each other curiously.
Before anyone could say anything, a violent explosion shook the whole area, swiftly the shadow twins made sure that everyone was holding hands, while Axonn lifted Aikane's body up and caught hold of Wairuha's shadow twin's arm.
"Hang on Makeo!" Kokua yelled, as he curled around her waist, as the lava hurtled towards them, only to sweep over an empty plain, destroying everything in its path.
"That was too close." Alohi's shadow twin murmured, when everyone came to a halt, opening their eyes, they found themselves back at the seaway tunnel entrance.
"There is still one thing to be done, before we return to Metru Nui," Turaga Anuenue whispered solemnly, as her eyes turned from intense blue to dark aqua, "Axonn, please bring my sister over here."
Puzzled he did, then everyone watched as the new Toa bent closer to listen to Turaga Anuenue, "Tein'a, your mask harnesses the power of lightning and Sheranu, your is healing sleep, combining these powers should return Aikane to life."
They glanced at each other unsure, then nodded and clasped their hands together over Aikane's chest, watching fascinated as each others mask began glowing.
As they concentrated, a sphere of green mist and miniature lightning flashes formed above where Aikane's heartlight had glowed, they then gently placed it in position.
For a few seconds, the sphere sat there, then sank into Aikane's chest, several more seconds passed, then a tiny spark of colour showed in Aikane's heartlight.
Hardly daring to breath, Turaga Anuenue, Tein'a and Sheranu watched as Aikane's heartlight grew brighter, then they heard her take a breath, followed by more.
"Turaga, we must go, the volcano's going to destroy Voya Nui!" Onua called urgently to us, as Axonn gently lifted Aikane's sleeping form up, quickly we joined them and followed Ahonui, Kokua, Malie and Makeo into the tunnel and towards the platform where the boats were tied.
As they reached the waters edge, Anuenue felt a gentle tickle dance through her mind, followed by a sleepy whisper, "Sisters?" Anuenue quickly glanced at Gali and Amaya, who looked stunned, before they turned to where Axonn stood.
They quickly joined him, as the shadow twins sorted everyone into groups and preparing to walk them through the shadows, Aikane's heartlight was shining brightly as she blinked sleepily at her sisters.
Turning to where Tein'a and Sheranu were shyly talking with Kopaka and Lewa, Amaya joined them and hugged Tein'a and Sheranu, "Brothers, thank you." she murmured, as they blushed then tentatively hugged her back.
"It's time we left." Alohi's shadow twin commented as she came over to them, nodding they joined hands, closed their eyes and let her lead them into the nearest shadow.
Glancing around as they heard the entrance of the tunnel collapsing, Tahu, Onua and Pohatu joined hands with Lari's shadow twin and they followed her to safety.
"Sister, do you think there's enough water in the tunnel to solidify the lava?" Amaya asked Gali, as Kokua's shadow twin guided them through the shadows.
"It will not reach Metru Nui." Aikane murmured sleepily, as fresh air and excited chatter signalled they'd reached the other end of the tunnel.
"Turaga, what is wrong?" they heard Analu ask, while Rinia, Lari and Hahli gathered around her, they were joined by Acha and Acirru who whispered to them.
Slowly they went ahead and let Turaga Anuenue have a little time to herself, she suddenly glanced to where Axonn carried Aikane, as she'd whispered before falling asleep, "Sister, do you know you're wearing a Mahiki?"
"I'm wearing a Mahiki?" Turaga Anuenue whispered, glancing at Amaya, as she, Takanuva, Kokua, Axonn and all the shadow twins joined her, Amaya nodded, then everyone turned to watch the tunnel as a rumbling, hissing noise grew louder.
The lava was filling up the tunnel and as it approached, it began to slow and darken, coming to a halt several bio away, curious Tahu's shadow twin went and examined it, then smiled.
"Totally solidified." he commented, then glanced at Akamai's who nodded, "We are going to rest. It will help Aikane." he said, as the shadow twin matoran began hugging everyone before disappearing into the shadow.
"Rest well, shadow brother." Takanuva smiled, tapping fists with him, then after Akamai's shadow twin departed, glanced at Turaga Anuenue.
Anuenue stood there for several moments stunned, then thought about what the Great Spirit had said about this mask, "So who's shape will you pick first?" Amaya softly asked, as they made their way to where the cairn was. Looking up at her, Anuenue shrugged. "I'm not sure." she whispered, glancing back to where Axonn walked cradling Aikane as she slept.
Reaching the cairn, everyone paused to pay their respects to their brother and sister, as they turned to leave, Anuenue glanced back and saw Phira appear, "Look to your dreams, sister." her whisper echoed around the tunnel, as everyone glanced around surprised, Turaga Anuenue nodded and managed a smile, while Phira vanished.
As the group reached the tunnel entrance, they could hear the matoran chatting amongst themselves and the sound of a fire crackling.
