Zach's POV

There's only one thought in my head and that's I cannot let her run away again. I can just barely hear her in front of me running towards the exit. I knew I shouldn't have let her listen to the trustees. God, I could be so stupid sometimes! Isn't that the reason Mr. Solomon told me to keep watch, to make sure she didn't hear? I don't care what she wants right now but I cannot let her get away. I need her here, everyone does.
""Cammie! CAMMIE! Please!" I could hear the desperation in my voice. I WAS desperate, to keep her here.
She's getting closer and closer to the exit now and I speed up but it's no use. By the time I run out she's nowhere in sight. Sometimes I really wish she couldn't hide so easily. She couldn't have gone far right? RIGHT? 'She has to be out here and she'll have to come down' I told myself. But I was lying to myself. She didn't have to do anything and she could be anywhere. 'Not again, not again' I thought. The summer was torture for me, not knowing where she was or if she was okay. 'It's because of you' a voice in my head said. And it was right. I ignored her when she came back, when she needed me the most.
"Cammie! Cammie! I know you're here. This isn't funny! I know you can hear me. CAMMIE!" I hoped she would come down but deep inside I knew it was useless. Gallagher Girl wouldn't just give up, she would finish what she started.
"Please, please Cammie. Come back. Please" I was vaguely aware I was crying but I didn't care. I lost her again, I lost the thing I cared most about and all I can do now is pray that we can find her before anyone else does.
"I love you Gallagher Girl" 'Be safe' I thought.
