...Chapter 2...
Alex was sitting in the middle of her bed looking through everything in the box for a second time, making sure that she more thorough, so she didn't miss anything, and while she was alone. She came across a bunch of old pictures, a few keys to some safe deposit boxes - which she put to the side, along with the keys to his beloved Harley and the keys to his '71 Dodge Charger. Next she took out the letter addressed to her and sat up against her headboard to read it. Minutes after reading it, Alex dropped the letter in her lap, as a few tears fell down her cheeks. Even after all of that time of him being gone, she still misses him terribly.
After Alex took a couple deep breaths, she picked up her phone and sent texts to Olivia and Reese. "Pack your shit for a week or 2.. we're going to Cali for a mini vacation. DO NOT tell Nick."
As she was going through her clothes to pack in her suitcase, she got a text from Olivia, five minutes later. "Reese is with me and we'll be ready tonight."
"Sweet. I'll pick both of you up at your place." Alex responded back, but then exited out of that and went through her contacts and found a number, then pressed the talk button.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Carter.. whatcha' doing?"
"Leaving work, why? What's up?"
"I have a questioned." she paused. "Okay, check this out.. I was going through some of my grandpa's things at Stella's and I found this box with instructions to take certain items to Northern California. Murph, Livvie, and I are packing as we speak and leaving tonight.. do you want to go?"
"For how long"?
"About a week.. and I'm picking up the girls as soon as I'm done." she paused. "Are you down?"
There was a long pause, before he spoke. "I'll tell you what.. my answer is "yes" but I won't be able to leave until maybe tomorrow night or even the next day."
"Okay, yeah, that's fine.. I'll text you the address of where we're staying and we'll meet up. It'll be fun, but one thing.."
"What?"
"For the love of God, Carter.. DO NOT tell Nick about any of this."
"Oh, don't worry.. I won't."
Alex sighed. "I just don't want to deal with his bullshit, because it'll bring me down, and I'll have zero fun on our little vacation."
"You got it. Well, the 3 of you.. have a safe trip over there and I'll see you in a few days."
"Okay, deuces, Carter." then Alex hung up her phone and finished packing.

As Alex was loading her suitcase and duffel bags into the back of her jeep, a car pulled up. "Fan-fucking-tastic." she groaned, shutting the door. "Here we go. In 3.. 2.. 1."
"Where do you think you're going?"
"Nick." she heavily sighed. "I'm just leaving town for a few days and I'll be right back."
"Where exactly is out of town?"
"California." she shrugged.
"With who?"
"Livvie and Murph.. Jesus! What? I can't do shit with my damn friends?"
"Nope." he crossed his arms over his chest. "Not with those 2 bitches."
"Oh, my God! I'm not dealing with you right now. I have shit to do and I don't have time for this." she went to open her car door, but Nick slammed it shut. "Why are you being an asshole?"
"I already told you." he glared at her. "You're not going anywhere.. especially with those skanky bitches."
"Oh, now they're skanky?" Alex shook her head. "Look, I gotta go get some gas, then pick up those "skanky bitches." she mocked him, using her quotation fingers. "And get on the freeway to make it to Hollywood, hopefully before the sun comes up." she paused. "Now get the hell out of my way, so I can leave."
"You're real funny, Alex.. keep being a smart ass and see what happens."
Alex smirked, getting in his face. "Actually, not a goddamn thing. I'm not scared of you and you know damn well I can fight, so I suggest you back up off me, so I can fucking leave."
"NO!" Nick was beyond livid. "Because you ain't going nowhere!"
"Is there a problem here?" both of them heard, then Alex smirked as Nick turned around. "I said, is there a problem here?"
"Who the hell are you?" Nick demanded, at the man glaring at him.
Alex chuckled. "Nick, this is my awesome neighbor, Jay.. he's a good friend of mine and a UFC fighter, so I'd chill out.. if I were you."
"Uh.." he just stood there and gulped.
Jay could tell that he was getting scared, then he got into his face. "What's the problem?"
"N-nothing." Nick stuttered.
"Yeah, Jay." Alex started. "I gotta go and he's not letting me leave."
Jay cracked his knuckles. "Move." Nick stared at him a few seconds before he got out of the way, then Jay pointed his finger in his face. "She's told me about you and the way you treat her, so you better cut the shit and leave her alone or I will break you."
"And he means it." Alex snickered, getting into her jeep. "Thanks a bunch, Jay."
"No problem." he nodded. "Be safe."
"I will, bye." she smiled and after she started the engine, she laughed at Nick and shook her head at him, before she drove off.
Jay turned to Nick. "You have a good night." he smirked, then walked into his condo.
Suddenly, Nick pulled out his phone and dialed a number. Once he it was picked up, he spoke first. "Hey, Brody.. are you with Darren?"
"Yeah, chillin' at my place with your brother."
"Evan's there?"
"Yeah, why? What's up?" Brody yawned.
"I'm on my way there.. there's something I gotta do and the 3 of you are helping me." Once Nick snapped his phone shut, he got into his car and drove off.
...
"Come on, Bitches!" Alex yelled, sticking her head out of the window.
"We're coming!" Olivia yelled back, dragging a few suitcases out the door.
Alex got out and opened the back to rearrange her stuff. "Geeeeez-us, Livvie.. we're only gonna be gone a week, if that."
"Well, wait until you see what Reese is bringing."
Minutes later, Reese came out with all of her luggage. "Sorry, I had a few things to pack."
"What, Murph? The kitchen sink? The couch maybe?"
"Don't be silly." Reese laughed. "I needed my necessities."
"Riiiiiight." Alex rolled her eyes. "Just put your stuff back here or in the back seat.. and make it snappy. We gotta go." she got into the driver seat and rested her head on the steering wheel. Moments later that, Olivia and Reese got into the jeep and Alex lifted her head. "Ready now?"
"Yep." Olivia nodded. "Let's do this."
"Alrighty." Alex started the engine and drove towards the freeway.
"What's wrong, Al?" Reese asked, breaking the long awkward silence.
"Oh, nothing.. it's just that Nick is still being an ass."
Olivia scoffed. "He was born to be an ass."
"What happened this time?" Reese asked. "I thought he wasn't supposed to know about our trip?"
"That was the plan, but he showed up as I was leaving. He was trying to stop me.. I mean, it was to the point that we were in each others faces and I was ready to fight, but my neighbor Jay intervened and told Nick that he'd break him if he didn't move from blocking me." Alex chuckled. "I totally would have fucked him up."
"Oh, hell yeah." Olivia nodded. "Because, girl.. you can fight." all three of them laughed in agreement, then Olivia looked at the Google Map on her phone. "Okay, we should reach Hollywood.. in about 6 hours, then it'll take.. around 5 1/2 hours or so until we reach Charming."
"Fantastic." Alex nodded. "Oh, yeah.. Carter's meeting up with us, possibly in a few days, because he won't be able to leave until then."
"Why in a few days?" Olivia questioned.
"He didn't say, but I'm guessing that it's because of work." Alex shrugged.
"So, where exactly are we going? Charming?"
"Yeah, Murph.. a little town in Northern Cali - where my grandpa used to live." Alex replied, then told Reese about the letter she got, plus everything else she found inside the box and what she was supposed to do with it all, for the next 15 minutes.
"Okay." Reese started. "Grandpa Tom left you his Harley - when you don't even know how to ride it?"
"I'll learn, Silly.. I'm sure it's not that hard."
"Well, good luck with that."
"Gee, thanks, Murph." Alex laughed.
Olivia pressed the button to recline her seat and covered her eyes with a bandana. "Wake me up when we get there."
"Yeah, me too." Reese yawned and closed her eyes.
"Yes, your highness's." Alex chuckled, shaking her head, then turned on her iPod and listened to some tunes for the road trip.

After spending two and a half hours in Hollywood and taking tons of pictures, Alex passed the "Welcome to Charming" sign - five or so hours later and pulled into a Motel 6 that was not to far away from the highway. She paid for a room, then drove the jeep to her parking space in front of it. "Wake up, Bitches!" she yelled, honking the horn.
"Oh, no." Olivia groaned. "Must you do that?"
"Yeah." Reese agreed as she was stretching. "Must you?"
"You damn skippy!" Alex chuckled. "Because it's fun and we're finally here at the motel in Charming."
"Oh." Reese looked around. "How long was I asleep?"
"Both of you passed out." Alex started to think. "About an hour after we left the Walk of Fame."
"Well, we had so much fun and I'm glad we took so many pictures." Olivia added.
"Yeah." Reese nodded. "We must hit up Hollywood again and hit up the beach with Carter on the way back."
"Well, duh." Alex saw Olivia yawning. "Livvie, all that sleep and you're still tired?"
"My nap wasn't nearly long enough."
"Well, Silly Ass." Alex laughed, getting out of the jeep. "Now that we're here, you can keep napping, because that's exactly what I'm gonna do." she paused, and opened the back to get their things. "Since yours truly drove the whole way and got zero sleep."
"Okay." Reese grabbed her luggage as well as Olivia. "You two can nap.. I'll go for a walk."
"Sounds like a plan." Alex nodded, then unlocked the door to their room, and the three of them went inside.
"Two beds? Oh, this is gonna be super fun."
"Relax, Murph.. they're California kings. I mean, you can fit, like, 5 of me on there, and possibly 2 of you." Alex set her laptop case on the table, then glanced back at Reese - who still looked unsure. "Don't look so worried. If you do end up sleeping next to me, I usually stay in one spot.. Livvie on the other hand." she chuckled, pointing to Olivia. "She's all over the place and there's a very good chance that you could get kicked or punched throughout the night."
"Hey!" Olivia laughed. "I'm not that bad.. I've gotten better."
"Riiiiight." Alex rolled her eyes. "Keep telling yourself that, because you haven't seen you sleep and I have.. many times." all three girls laughed and continued bringing in their things into the motel room.
"Alright." Olivia collapsed on one of the beds. "I'll nap right here." she grabbed one of the pillows and yawned. "Yep, right here."
Alex and Reese laughed, the Alex laid down on the other bed, then closed her eyes. "Have fun walking around, Murph, and be careful.. if you need us; for whatever reason, just call."
"Okay, but that would require to have your phone on."
"It's on, Smart Ass.. and on the charger."
"Good." Reese chuckled. "See you both later."
"Yeah, bye." Alex gave her a thumbs up, then Reese walked out of the room to go for a walk.
