Disclaimer: I do not own Fairytail, nor do I receive anything from this.
I would like to apologies for the enormous gap in any updates. The whole thing with E.N.D and what came afterwards ruined what I had planned. Well sort of. So I had to rethink some things. I was also distracted...by life. I got lost on it a few times.
"You know at this rate we are going to get lost right?" Natsu asked, as he leisurely followed the determined girl.
His boredom increased ever further as she kept her face stoic. The only sign that she even heard him being the slight clenching of her fists. He loved anger, whether it was his or someone else's, it was the fire of emotions. Burning brightly in your stomach, pushing you ever forward toward your goal. But he only loved anger that burned and smoldered, not that icy anger she was showing. It was too icy. Her eyes should burn with a hidden fire, not have that cold gaze.
But he couldn't rid her of that icy stare easily. Natsu knew anger and unfortunately he would not be able to diffuse her with more anger. She would only get icier and more prickly. No, he would have to use...persuasion to appease her.
"I was going to take you to see someone who could help you find strength, he's really strong." Her steps faltered, he grinned." But he doesn't like people, so while he is expecting me. The longer we take to get to him the less likely he is to help you." Under his breath he added "and more likely to kill you."
Erza eventually slowed to a stop, turning around to stare at him with one serious eye. "Will he really help me become strong enough to protect those I care about?"
Thinking Natsu replied "He can. But if he will, I don't know." His grin turning more vicious he continued, "But if he won't I will, It will be fun." Images of future battles with the fierce girl danced through his head." Provided you are as strong as I think you are."
She paused for a long while, her eye flickering with hidden depths. Inhaling deeply she said, " My name is Erza Scarlet."
Nodding to her, Natsu mentally went over the name a few times to let it sink in, 'The name suits her.' He continued nodding to further sink it in, 'Erza Scarbutt, a strong name.'
Shaking himself out of his nodding frenzy, he replied excitedly," I'm Natsu Dragneel, and I'm going to become the number one mage in Fiore. The whole world will fear my strength! Then I'll know if I'm really strong."
Taking in the unhinged and manic expression that adorned Natsu's face. Erza repressed a flinch as the image of a certain blue haired boy, seemed to superimpose itself over him. 'He's almost as twisted as he was.' She thought as she eyed the feral mage warily. ' I was too weak to stop him." She gathered her resolve,' But I will get strong enough to show Natsu how magic is supposed to be used. Even if I could not help everyone else, right now I can help you. You have already shown me kindness as shallow as it was.'
Smiling slightly, she tried to change the topic. " Where are we supposed to be going in that case?"
The perpetually grinning maniacs eyes lit up, as he grabbed her hand to direct her. 'His hands are so hot.' She thought surprised.
" We have to go to that mountain in the distance." He answered as he gestured grandly to their goal. All the while ploughing through the surrounding foliage like some unstoppable force.
She watched as he walked through the upraised roots of nearby trees." Do you not think that it would be easier to walk around the plants and roots?" she asked dryly.
Said woodland destroyer just looked back at her confusedly, " Why would I do that, They aren't the boss of me."
At that moment it occurred to Erza, that it might be harder to reach her goals then she thought.
Ah the joys of two people who seem to lack common sense. As much I wanted to write those giant sprawling chapters that some authors do. It just isn't in my style. Although the chapters will probably grow in size as the story picks up and gets busier. As always if you have any advice on writing, feel free to share. And no, Scarbutt was not a typo.
