Disclaimer: I don't own spirited away.

The sun is a dream, and the sea, but the tide is real. The tide is alive inside of you.

The lady of the house was kneeling before her, fingers that were tipped with delicately pointed claws cradling her cheeks, stroking -forcing Chihiro to look her in the eye.

Shadows swam across her vision.

She hadn't realized that she couldn't breath until the woman was walking her through the steps -calming the short gasping breaths that were choking her with soothing nonsense. Words she could barely hear -sounding like rain against the glass of her window in the night. Rhythmic and devastatingly powerful in their serenity.

Distantly, she tasted salt on her tongue -burning its way down her throat.

"You are safe now, my sweet little lost one. The waves cannot carry you away for they are yours now -the water as alive inside of you as your own soul. He gave that to you," Deep brown eyes that reminded her of forests and wet earth and rainy spring afternoons held her captive, even as the woman who was not a woman wiped away tears she didn't remember shedding -chasing away the shadows. "If there was a gift he has bestowed upon you, it is mastery over that which took you. You are not alone."

At her words, Chihiro gave a soft hiccup and Lin shushed her, leaning forward to press her forehead into the the younger women's. "Okay -deep breath, little one. Shall we finish what we started?"

Once the young woman had given her a nod of acceptance, the woman pulled away -issuing orders that the woman who quietly stood at attention frantically jumped to obey.

"Lets not leave our guests waiting."

Note: Sorry for the low note of this chapter, but I felt I couldn't just gloss over this part -there are so many stories I read -anime and manga that I try and follow that never actually bring up the fact that its not normal to be completely accepting of such a drastic change, and how death and near death experiences change a person. It is, in fact, completely normal for you to react in a very negative fashion. Panic attacks and flash backs are just some of the possible side effects. People can also experience depression and lethargy. As always though, reviews are a wonderful thing to leave.
