A prayer against the rage of heaven, answered in laughter
Behind her was the raging sea -sharks circling the docks like anxious dogs; even with the storm. Before her a cacophony of rage and guilt and fear -a darkness that seemed to seep from every soul. Turning the night sky black and blocking out the stars.
This wasn't what she wanted. This wasn't what she had planned for this meeting.
Chihiro placed hands against the body of the dragon, stroking his scales -trying to bring what small peace she could to the snarling God at her side. "I know your son -Hideaki." she told the man, and they way he adverted his gaze from her was she needed to know. "And Mrs. Otake's daughter, Satomi. I know Kaiko and Miori and Ryoichi."
There was fear -stagnant and heavy in the air at her words, and it broke her heart.
"Please," the man begged. "Please don't bring them into this."
"If you are so fearful of what your own actions of brought, maybe it should be them I speak to."
Before any other could speak -beg her pardon, she held up a hand -closing her eyes as she fought against the great need to lash out -to throw her bitterness back at them. Her blame. "You will summon them -I know they are away with their own lives -so you have three days. And on the dawn of the third day they are to follow the trail carved into the mountain, lit with lights that have no lantern. This time I will not come to you and beg you to fulfill your promise -it is to them I will give my final warning."
Note: This chapter is a bit shorter -but I feel it said everything it really needed to. And this chapter leads up to the plot taking back over, and the introduction of the rest of our main cast. I don't want to spoil anything, but It's going to be fun. Certainly my flair for memorable OCs is going to be in full effect. I usually have at least one -The Nameless God from Ablution, my other Spirited Away fic -being my favorite example. I want to thank Lyrainthedark and I Agree for helping me plot out exactly how I was going to bring my favorite OC into the limelight, and I think you guys are really going to enjoy what I've got planned.
