Mission 10: Black and White
"Eeehhh?! Big Sis is staying with us until the next time change?!" The two jester kids exclaimed, excited looks on their face. The two rushed to White and Hikari's side. The girl quickly held Hikari's hand, jumping up and down in excitement. "Is it true Joker? Is Big Sis really going to stay with us?" the boy asked.
White smiled, directing his hand to Hikari. "Why don't you ask her yourself?" he said.
"So is Big Sis going to stay with us until the next time change?" The girl did as told, gripping on Hikari's jacket. She had a pout to try and convince the foreigner to stay with Joker. It was fun having a foreigner around! Especially during April Season. Alice was so much fun, but too bad Joker didn't capture her. The other previous foreigners tends to stay away from Joker because of the other role-holders' words and that made them feel lonely. "Please? Don't leave us! We want you to stay!" she whined.
Hikari's eye twitched. 'Even without eyes they can still pull off the sad-kicked-puppy look…'she thought, leaning down to poke the girl's cheek. "C'mon! Don't whine like that! I'm staying. Don't worry, okay? I'm staying for the night—er till the next time change." She corrected, a grin slowly forming on her lips.
"Really? That's great!" The jester girl smiled widely. "So what are we going to do first? Juggle balls? Play with the animals? Or go walk on the tightrope?" she said enthusiastically, listing out the activities to the older girl.
"Hmmm," Hikari hummed, a hand on her chin as she placed on her thinking cap. Her stomach growled and she grinned sheepishly when the two jester kids stared weirdly at her. "How about we eat something first? I'm starving~!" she sighed dramatically, the back of her hand placed on her forehead.
The girl placed both her small hands on her mouth, covering her giggle. "Big Sis is so dramatic and funny!" she said after her giggles ceased. "Let's go eat with everyone else! We have lots and lots of yummy food!" she chirped happily, dragging Hikari out of the tent.
White followed the three closely from behind. A smile ever so present on his lips. The Ringmaster was pleased that the foreigner had decided to stay, even though it's only till the next time change. He was a little disappointed that never once a foreigner has stayed with him during the game. Besides Alice, they were somewhat 'afraid' of him and Black. Although, Alice tends to get creep out by their strange behavior once in a while.
As soon as they entered another large tent, the mess hall to be precise, they were greeted with a crowd. Their ears were enveloped by the orchestral sounds of laughter, people chattering and the sounds of silverwares could be heard against the ceramic plates. It was different. Starting from the atmosphere to the furniture. Instead of tables covered by expensive tablecloths made from the finest silk, the mess hall have wooden tables and benches. The food weren't all that fancy like the Hatter's, but it seemed good. It was two different classes and yet, Hikari found the Circus more…home-y.
"Come sit here, Big Sis!" The boy patted the empty seat next to her.
"Ah… Sure." Hikari nodded her head. She sat beside the boy, staring at the warm food in front of her. Well for once, it wasn't green and steamed. That's good. Her stomach growled loudly and she grabbed a spoonful of the stew. Her eyes sparkled when she put the spoon in her mouth. "Hmmm~! It's really good! I haven't eaten anything good in days!" she exclaimed joyfully, savoring the flavor.
White chuckled into his loose fist, "I'm glad that you're enjoying the meal." He said, staring at Hikari's face with a smile. Suddenly a sigh escaped his lips, a disappointed look on his face. Hikari blinked at the sudden change. One second he was smiling the next he was disappointed at something. Maybe it was because he had one more mouth to feed. The brunette didn't mean to make him feel uncomfortable or anything. "Though… if I knew you'd be staying, I would've prepared something more…special." He continued.
Hikari swallowed, a relieved look on her face. "Ah no! It's okay! You don't have to do anything. I hate the special treatment from someone as cool and kind as you." She waved her hand, trying to make White feel better.
"Thanks, brat." Black replied.
"I was talking to White." Hikari snapped, clutching the spoon till it was bent.
"We're almost the same person. Deal with it." Black retorted.
Hikari wiggled her finger, standing up from her seat to look at the mask. "Ah! But you see, there's an 'almost' in that sentence. So it's not a hundred percent! Hah! In your mask! Booyah!" she laughed while pointing her finger at the mask.
Black growled, "Stupid obnoxious brat." He mumbled loud enough for the brunette to hear.
A vein popped on Hikari's forehead. "I heard that!" she angrily sat down, a scowl on her face.
"Please ignore my counterpart's mouth." The Red-haired Jester chuckled. "But such complimentary coming from you, Hikari. I'm flattered, thank you." He folded his arms on the table, giving a close-eyed smile to the girl sitting across from him.
Hikari grinned, giving a thumbs up. "You're welcome, White." she returned his smile with her own grin. A tug on her sleeve made her turn her head to the child sitting beside her. "Yeah? Something you need, kiddo?"
White's single ruby eye watch the new foreigner chat happily with his subordinates. Just like any other foreigner, she was welcomed everywhere and by everyone. Treated nicely and respectfully. She was just like the rest. So what makes this one special like Alice? A thought came across his mind, along with his counterpart.
A smirk slowly graced his lips. "Oh dear… It looks like it is almost curfew." White announced, standing up from his seat.
"Whaaaat? Awww we haven't done anything with Big Sis yet! We've just talked with each other." The jester girl pouted, visibly disappointed at the short time.
Hikari laughed as she stood up from her seat. She ruffled the boy's and girl's hair. "I can stay and help out around the circus tomorrow. I don't want to go back to the Hatter's mansion just yet." She promised, giving a reassuring grin to the kids.
"Really?!" The boy and girl exclaimed, not believing their ears.
Hikari nodded happily. "Pinky promise!" she shouted, walking away with White. She would probably get a lecture or a never ending scolding from either Elliot or Gowland, but she just doesn't want to go back to the mansion until the deadline. Other territories are good choices, but she just feel bad for neglecting the Circus the most. White seemed a little lonely, despite spending his time with all of his co-workers. The silence between then was awkward for the foreigner. "So um… where will I staying for the night….er time change? If you don't have an extra tent, just give me a sleeping bag and I'll be okay!" she suggested, giving a thumbs up.
White smiled. "There's no need for you to sleep outside, my dear!" He said, opening the tent's flap for Hikari. The two stepped inside the main tent. It was dark. The only thing illuminating the whole tent was the stage light at the middle of the ring. The Jester held Hikari's hand, leading her to the backstage. "Careful now, we wouldn't want you to trip over now do we?" he smiled in the low light.
"Well…yeah? I don't wanna fall and get laughed at by Black." Hikari said with a glare pointed at the mask.
Black snickered. "You got that right, tuts."
"Shut it, Warden." Hikari snapped back. She narrowed her eyes to focus in the low light setting. It was hard to see. It was impressive that White can tell which way to go. Finally, White stopped. Curious, the brunette peeked over his large frame, staring at whatever White was looking at. The brunette raised an eyebrow. From what she could make, it was a mirror. "What are you doing? This isn't the 'Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of the all' thing is it? Tell me you're not going to say that." She asked, giving a look.
"We are just going to show you your room." White said, placing his hands on each of Hikari's shoulder. His hold tightens a big as he leaned down to Hikari's ear. "But in order to go to the Prison Realm, you need my assistance." He lastly said before pushing the girl forward to the mirror.
"Wait what?! Prison—!"
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
"—Realm!" Hikari shouted, her voice echoing in the spacious hallway. She looked around, taking in her new surroundings. It was a prison with many toys littering the floor. She scratched the back of her head in confusion. In a blink of an eye, her view switched from a smiling White to a childish-looking-prison.
"How the heck did White do that!" Hikari said out loud, glancing around for any mirror. She thought long and hard. A sudden thought came to her mind. She snapped her fingers in realization. "I knew it! White's a wizard! No wonder he can do tricks like that! I'm a pure genius!" she proudly said, a hand on her hip.
She took a step back and quickly lifted her foot when she felt she step on something soft. "…a stuffed toy?" she bends down to pick up the dirty and stitched-up bear with one of its eyes missing a button. She clutched the toy, clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Talk about being the worse toy owner and prison warden ever! This place is a dump!" she exclaimed.
"What was that?" A voice suddenly said from behind her.
"AAAAHHH! WITCH!" Hikari shouted out of surprise, throwing the stuffed bear at the person behind her. It hit the person square in the face. She jumped back and stood in a defensive stance, a shaky glare directed at the 'witch'. Her blue eyed blinked once as she realize the so-called-witch. She quickly straighten her posture and acted natural, as if nothing happened. "Oh… it's you Black."
Black smirked. "Talk about being a big scardy cat! You should've seen the look on your face!" he laughed, clutching his sides from laughing too hard.
"Hey! It's not my fault this place's creepy and a dump! Of course I'll scream witch!" Hikari argued, trying to defend what's left of her pride.
"A dump? I'll have you know little girl, this place is a prison." Black said, cracking his whip. He walked closer to the brunette, towering over the smaller frame. He stared down at her and used his whip to tilt Hikari's chin up. His ruby eye was locked in a staring contest with Hikari's blue ones. "You're in my domain now, tuts. I control everything here." He smugly said, a smirk on his lips.
Hikari furrowed her eyebrows, a grin present on her lips. "I would to see you try! I can kick your sorry-butt any time and any place!" she stepped back, giving the 'come-at-me' gesture.
"Excellent!" A clap resounded in the spacious building. Both Black and Hikari turned to face a smiling White. He crossed his hands behind his back as he walked closer to the foreigner. "Then how about a game?" he tilted his head.
"Oi! I decided what goes around here!" Black complained from the other side.
"A game? What kind?" Hikari's ears perked up at the mention of a game.
Both Black and White smirked. "An escape game." White replied as Black took the ring of keys from his belt. Hikari watched as Black inserted a key into the keyhole of the lock. He opens the bars to the cell, gesturing for the girl to step inside. "If you can get out of this cell over here, we'll give you anything you like." Black continued for his counterpart.
Hikari leaned back and crossed her arms over her chest, turning to face the Jokers. "Fair enough! I can so get out of this cell! Just you wait and see!" she pointed her finger at Black before entering the cell.
Black closed the bars and twist the keys, locking the door. "Good luck, tuts." He said before standing back to see how the foreigner is going to get out of his prison cell.
The brunette grinned. She was a keyblade wielder for Pete's sake! She can just use the keyblade to unlock the door and presto! A never ending supply of hotdogs. When she brought her hand up to summon her keyblade, she froze. A thought came across her mind.
'That's right! I don't want anyone in this Wonderland to know what I do!' she scream in her mind, turning back to crouch down.
A snicker broke her thoughts. "What? Giving up already? I expect more from you, brat." Black's smug voice made the girl turn her head angrily at the warden.
"I'm thinking! Shut up!" Hikari shouted, trying to clear her mind. She ignored another laugh from the warden to focus on the things she could use to break herself out of the prison cell. A pipe? No, that won't fit thought the tiny keyhole. A broken glass? That will do nothing but hurt her. There wasn't anything that she could use to pick the lock. A sigh escaped her lips. 'Well… there's still one more…' she thought walking towards the bars.
Black and White watched as the girl crouched down and gripped on the metal bars. "Wait… you're not thinking of breaking the bars, right? That's impossible! Even the rule breakers can't bend the bars. How a little girl going to make a difference?" Black mocked.
"Hmph!"
…
…..
"HAHAHAHA! What the hell are you trying to do?!" Black laughed uproariously. He placed his hands on his knees for support as the corner of his eye began to water from laughing too hard. The sight before him was precious! The foreigner was trying to fit her head through the gap between the bars. Her face was red and scrunched up from trying too hard. "You big head will never fit in through that tiny gap!" the warden continued to laugh.
"Shut. Up!" Hikari said between greeted teeth. Finally, after trying so hard, her head finally went through. Now for the rest of the body. "Hahaha! Beat that Black. My head did fit through the gap!" she smiled victoriously.
Black sniggers. "Yeah, but can you fit your whole body through it?" he asked, crossing his arms with a malicious grin on his face.
"Duh! Of course!" Hikari laughed, but stopped when her bottom half didn't made it through. "J-Just wait a moment!" she shouted to the two Jokers, trying to pull herself.
"Hahahaha! This is just too precious!" Black laughed again.
"B-Be quiet, you Stupid Warden!" Hikari shook her fist accusingly at the red-haired man.
White crouched down in front of the struggling brunette. "Oh dear… Do you need me to help you, Hikari?" he politely asked, offering his hand. "But if I help, you will lose the game." He added.
"No way! I don't need your help to get through this! Literally!" Hikari determinedly shouted and began to pull herself again. After another minute of trying, she stopped to rest. She slumped down, letting gravity take over. White was already in front of her, ready to pull her out anytime if she wants to. 'Maybe I'm doing this wrong…' she slide back till she was back to her stomach and turn ninety degree before slipping out between the bars. "I-I DID IT!" She exclaimed happily.
White grabbed Hikari from under her arms, pulling her back up to her feet with a smile on his face. "Yes, you succeed my dear." He gave a gently pat on her head.
"Hah! Beat that Black! Looks like I won!" Hikari turned around, grinning smugly at the Warden.
Black laughed. "Who cares if I lose? I still got a good laugh! And of course, there's still next time!" he said. "Now spill it, what do you want?"
Hikari smiled, holding her hand out. "Give me allowance money."
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
"C'mon Big Sis! You can do it!"
"I'm…trying!"
"Just a little more!"
"Yes! AW—NO! That hurts!"
Hikari sat down and cradled her head, rubbing the spot where the light plastic bowling pins hit her head. It might be light, but it still hurts! After the events the previous time change, she never heard the end of it from Black. And when she wake up the next time change, Black was there to mock her again. It took White to drag Hikari and transport her back to Wonderland to stop her and Black from hitting each other. And now, to get Black out of her mind, the Jester kids decided to teach her how to juggle bowling pins.
The jester girl appeared in front of Hikari, staring at her. "C'mon Big Sis! Juggling bowling pins is easy!" she gestured her hand to the jester boy who was juggling three bowling pins at the same time.
"You guys make it seems so easy!" Hikari whined, getting back up to her feet. She took the bowling pins from the girl and started to juggle again. This time she threw it all at the same time. She shrieked when they came down. Her hands covered her head as one foot was lifted up to avoid getting her toe crushed by the pins. "BAH! Juggling's not my thing!" She stomp her foot on the ground.
White chuckled, clearly amused. "Now, now, my dear… give it another try." He encouraged. He had been watching this whole time and saying that it's not amusing was a lie. Black clearly found it funny. The Ringmaster picked up the pins and gave them to the pouting brunette. He walked around the girl and stood behind her, placing his hands on top of her hands. "This time, how about I guide you?" he asked.
"Fine… but if one of the pins falls on us, it's going to hit you first!" Hikari threatened.
"Of course," White simply smiled as he started to guide Hikari to juggle. "It isn't so hard, now is it?" he said.
"…no." Hikari answered.
"Mr. Joker!" One of his workers called out to him. White stopped juggling, handing the pins to Hikari. He smiled at her before walking off to his worker.
"Joker is really a hard worker!" The jester boy appeared on Hikari's right as they stared at White's back.
"Yeah! He works hard all the time! He rarely gets time to relax!" The jester girl continued, standing on Hikari's left side. "But with Big Sis around, Joker seems more relaxed!" she turned to face the older girl.
Hikari placed the pins on the ground and stood up. "Really? Well then let's help White finish his job!" she pumped her fist high in the air.
"How?" The two asked in unison.
The brunette placed her hand on her chin. "We can ask him!" she ran towards the Ringmaster, the two jester kids tagging along. "White!" she shouted from a distance.
Said Joker turned to face her. "Is there something the matter, Hikari?" he asked, holding a list.
Hikari gave a close-eyed grin. "Is there something that we can do to help out? I heard that you're jam-packed today! So how about I help you a little bit?" She offered. White stared at her as she turned around, walking around for a bit. "You know I don't usually offer my help to do chores to anyone before. You should be grateful." She smugly stated.
"Don't talk to me using that smug tone." Black suddenly said.
"I didn't ask you!" Hikari shouted before turning to face White. "So? Anything you have in mind? Just…don't make me clean the after pellets." She grinned sheepishly at the last sentence.
"After pellets?" White repeated. A second later, he seemed to understand what the words mean. He smiled and placed his hand on Hikari's shoulder. "Alright, if you want to help out so badly. You can help me prepare for the next event—,"
"Great! What do you want me and the kids to do?" Hikari eagerly asked.
"How's about you two start practicing on your performance?" White said, leaning slightly down to the jester kids.
"Awwww," both kids whined, but agreed nonetheless. They both trudge away from White and Hikari. Before they exit they enter the training tent, they turned around to wave goodbye to the foreigner and their Ringmaster. "See you later Joker and Big Sis!"
Hikari waved back, a smile on her face. "See you two later!" she replied. She turned back to White. "So what do you want me to do?" she asked again.
"Well, I do need someone to carry these properties to the back since it won't be used until the second act."
"No prob! Leave it to me!"
"Next, I need someone to re-paint the stools."
"I can do that too!"
"And then I need someone to build another booth."
"Errr…. I can do that too…"
"Lastly, I need someone to feed the rabbits."
"…okay?"
"Can you do all of that, my dear?" White asked, the smile never leaving his face.
Hikari blinked, sweat rolling down her face. "Um… Sure! I want to help out anyways! So no problem!" she posed, patting her biceps to point out that she's strong enough to do the work White gave her. "I'll get these done before the next time change! You can count on me!" she gave a salute and began to do the first task on the list.
'Honestly, Black… Wasn't that a bit too much?'
"Hah! That brat deserve it!" Black laughed, arms crossed against his chest. At the last minute, Black made the switch. He was in 'White's body when he gave the assignments.
'I just want her to feed the rabbits.' White added.
"Oh shut up! That's too light! I want to see how far she'll go." A smirk graced his lips as he stared at Hikari, who was carrying a box full of old properties.
Hikari shifted the box in her hand, adjusting the weight. 'I think I've been tricked… Can't believe White would give me this many tasks…' she thought negatively, glancing to White every now and then. The first two things were okay but adding more than one? That was a crime! This is almost like the time when Riku told her to do Sora's chores because she skipped hers! 'But at least, this isn't cleaning… can't be worse than cleaning the after pellets.' She sighed from her nose.
"Errr… Where should I put this?" Hikari asked a faceless performer, referring to the box in her arms.
"Over there please." The performer said, pointing his finger to the corner of the backstage.
The brunette nodded, walking towards the pointed direction. "One down, a few more to go!" She placed the box down and stretched her back. She turned around on her heels to go back to the main stage, but a tap on her shoulder made her stop and look back to the person. "Yes?" she asked.
"Um… excuse me miss, are you perhaps related to the new foreigner?" the performer asked.
Hikari blinked. "That would be me! I'm the new foreigner! What do you need, Miss?" she asked. Her blue eyes studied the faceless in front of her. The performer seemed familiar. "Ah! I know you! You're the tightrope walker I saved!" she exclaimed in surprise.
"Y-Yes, I am." The tightrope walker stuttered at the sudden attention she was receiving from her fellow workers.
Hikari laughed. "So how are you doing? Your ankle feeling any better?" she asked looking at the performer's ankle as they both walked towards the main stage.
"Yes, thank you for your concern." The tightrope walker smiled. "I actually want to thank you for saving me, Miss. No one other than Ms. Alice has ever paid that much attention to us Faceless." She crossed her hands together, a relieved look shown on her face.
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Hikari mumbled, frowning a little. She lifted her face up and smiled at the performer. "Well White seemed to care for you and his performers. So don't feel like that." she said as they arrived at the picking point.
"Do you need some help carrying those properties, Miss?" The tightrope walker offered.
"Nope! I'm good. And lose the 'miss' will you? I don't want my friends to call me with formalities." Hikari said as she put the hula-hoops through her head and her right arm, so she could push the large round target board to the back stage. It might be a bit hard pushing a large target board with the large rings on her body, but it will make the job done faster. She placed her hands on the side of the target board, preparing to push it. "Just call me, Hikari."
"Of course, Hikari."
"What's your name? I can't keep calling you 'her', 'she' and tightrope walker all the time." Hikari asked without looking at the faceless.
The tightrope walker smiled, placing her hands on the target board to help the foreigner move it. "Ca…Carol… It's a pleasure to meet you, Hikari."
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
'Well that's the last of 'em…' Hikari stood up, popping her back from picking up too much objects. She stared at the four stools and the various buckets of paint in front of her. After she finished moving the properties to the back with Carol, she moved on to the job next on the list, re-painting the stools. Much to her dismay, Carol has to practice on her performance. So their time has to be cut short. It was a little lonely without talking with someone while working. "The sooner I finish the better!" she pumped her fist up, shouting to the sky.
She slipped off her coat and vest, leaving them on top of a nearby crate. She rolled up her sleeved to her elbows and without wasting another second, she picked up a paint can and a paint brush, ready to paint the color-faded stools.
"You seemed to be getting all comfortable with befriending those Faceless, brat." An-oh-so-familiar voice remarked from behind her.
"What? Is it a crime to befriend anyone besides the Role-Holders, Black?" Hikari's eyes narrowed, completely annoyed that Black was there to bug her. "Remind me why you are doing here again, Black?" she decided continue with her painting.
Black laughed. "Well to see how you're doing with the jobs I gave you, of course!" the red-haired man said.
"No you didn't! White was the one who gave me these tasks!" Hikari turned around, waving the pink coated brush at the Prison Warden. Black gave her a look as if he was saying 'gotcha'. Realization struck the brunette's head like a ton of bricks being dropped on her head. "Y…YOU! You switched places with White! How could you! I thought I was doing this for White! Not you! Argh!" She angrily yelled, stomping her foot like a child.
The Joker kept on laughing at the new foreigner's pitiful expression. Finally his laughter subside when Hikari turned her back on him, continuing with her painting. Black crouched down next to the girl, giving a look. "What? I thought you don't want to do the work I gave you?" he teased, pinching Hikari's cheeks.
"Don't get the wrong idea!" Hikari swatted Black's hand away like a fly. She continued to paint, avoiding eye contact with a pout on her lips. "I'm just doing this because the stools' paint are really faded!" she stubbornly said.
Black laughed again. "What's this? Some kind of new personality you're giving?" he poked the brunette's puffed out cheeks multiple times. Suddenly, he felt something wet across his face. He blinked once, staring at the girl beside him.
Hikari laughed mischievously, holding the paintbrush in front of her face. "Hehehe, payback~!" she sang, staring at Black's new pink mustache.
"You… F****** LITTLE BRAT!" Black growled, pulling Hikari closer to his face by her tie.
"Hahaha! Can't believe you would fall for it!" Hikari laughed as Black continues to shake the girl back and forth.
"To think that for a second you were acting cute! I was f****** wrong!" Black yelled, pushing aside the girl forcefully.
Hikari sat back up, fixing her tie while laughing. "Oh c'mon Black! That was hilarious! Well… for me that is." Her laughter died down to giggles. She took her brush from the ground and started to paint where she last left off. "You're not going to get rid of the paint like that. Try using water, genius." She said sarcastically.
She raised her eyebrow when she didn't hear a snarky comeback. "Oi, Black—?!" she was stopped when a bucket of cold water splashed her square in the face. The brunette wiped the excess water from her face, a look of surprise and annoyance mixed together. "What the—what was that for?!" she complained, standing up to her feet.
"Try using water." Black repeated Hikari's words, holding the empty bucket. A smirk played on his lips as he stared at the brunette's angry face. "Not so funny when I put your words against you, huh brat?" he laughed.
Hikari clicked her tongue as her hand continues to rub the paint off the skin of her face. "Just because you put my words against me doesn't mean that it's not funny! Actually I do find it funny, haha… See? I laughed." She sarcastically laughed. The paint became smudged, the stain on her skin larger than before. "Now leave me alone! I still have to paint these stools, make another booth and feed the rabbits." She listed out, shooing Black away.
"You actually want to do all of that even after knowing that I'm the one who told you to?" Black questioned, an eyebrow raised.
Hikari gave him a look. "Duh! What do you think? I'm just doing all this because I believed that you're White." She explained.
Black stared blankly at the brunette. "Your logic is stupid." He deadpanned, making the girl huff in annoyance. The prison warden let out a heavy sigh, scratching the back of his head as he made his way towards the foreigner. He forcibly made her turn to face him. "Just admit that you would do anything we, Joker, tell you." He smirked.
Hikari's left eye twitched. "As if you Stupid Warden!" she huffed out.
"My, my, bothering the poor foreigner again, Joker?" A man who has the same voice as Black said, making the two turn their attention to the redhead standing behind them. The redhead noticed the pink stains on the foreigner's face and clothes. He tilted his head and placed a hand on his chin. "Oh dear… It seems you've made quite a mess of yourself, Hikari…" he stated.
The girl pointed her finger accusingly at Black. "Blame him! He started it!" she quickly accused.
"Cih! Like I started anything…you're the one who's simple-minded enough to believe." Black scowled, standing back up and crossed his arms over his chest.
Hikari stick her tongue out childishly at the warden.
White chuckled, "Come over here, my dear." White motioned his hand for Hikari to come closer. She obliged and stood right in front of the jester. The jester counterpart took out a white handkerchief and began to wipe the pink smudges off the brunette's face. "A lady like yourself shouldn't be messy and covered in paint." He smiled as he finished wiping the paint off.
Black snorted. "Her? A lady? More like a she-beast with a simple mind."
"I heard that!" Hikari stomp her foot on the ground angrily, raising her fist at the warden.
"Whatever." Black simply rolled his eyes before returning back to the main tent to return to the Prison realm.
"Cih! Stupid Warden!" Hikari mumbled under her breath as she and White watched the other counterpart enter the tent.
White noticed the half painted stool and smiled again. "Darling, you don't have to paint the stools and build a booth anymore, you can just skip to feeding the rabbits." He announced. Hikari was about to retort, but White placed a finger on her lips to stop her. "I can call someone to do that for you alright? It's the task I wanted to give to you before Black interrupted me." he said.
"Are you sure?" Hikari asked, trying to make sure.
White nodded. "Positive."
"Well… alright," The brunette went back to take her uniform from Blood before turning to face White with a broad grin. "Well? Lead the way, Captain!" she happily shouted.
White let out a small laugh as he guided the girl to the rabbits' cage.
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
"They're so adorable~" Hikari sighed dreamily as she held a rabbit while feeding it hay. She sat on the ground as the fluffy creatures circled her. White was in front of her, crouching. A smile was present on his lips, staring at the blissful expression the girl was giving. "Say… what are these rabbits for anyway? I don't think they would be in the show…" she asked, looking at the jester.
White nodded, "You are correct. They're for the new petting zoo. The amusement park is giving a tough competition, so we decided that something new would attract the visitors' attention." He chuckled when he saw the rabbits circling Hikari.
"Oooh! I get it now." Hikari petted the rabbit's head gently.
"You seemed to be good with animals, my dear." White smiled.
Hikari shrugged, bringing the rabbit close to her face. "Eh… not really—ACK!" she yelped when the rabbit took a nibble of her hair, chewing it innocently. She silently tried to yank back her hair from the rabbit's mouth, but failed miserably. She looked up to White, clearly trying to ask for help. "Uh… a little help here, White?" she plead.
"Oh dear…" White leaned forward and took the rabbit from Hikari's grasp. He moved a little closer and held the rabbit in one hand as the other tried to pull back a lock of Hikari's hair from the rabbit's mouth. Hikari kept on mumbling 'aw's as White gave a tug. Finally White managed to get the rabbit to spit out Hikari's hair.
"Argh… see what I mean?" Hikari rubbed her scalp.
White chuckled as he placed the rabbit down. He stood up and reached his hand out for Hikari to take. The brunette took his hand and he gave a gently tug, pulling the girl up to her feet. They both exited the cage, locking it firmly as they went out.
Hikari sat down underneath a tree and leaned back against the trunk. "This is going to take forever to fix…" She sighed, grabbing a lock of her hair to inspect the damage. She glanced over to the neatly folded uniform beside her and pulled out her wig from a pocket inside the jacket. "It's a good thing I have to wear this wig all the time." she said.
"It's not that bad. It makes you look unique." White commented as he sat beside the brunette.
"Yeah… unique enough for Black to laugh at me." Hikari snorted, looking away. She heard White chuckled and she smiled a little. "Hey White—,"
"WE FOUND GRIFFIN NII-SAN!"
Two voiced shouted in unison. White and Hikari turned to face the bushes, seeing a pair of twins hiding in them. The two of them jumped out of the bushes, frowns upon their lips.
"What do you think you're doing to Griffin nii-san!" The red-eyed twin shouted, pointing his axe to White.
"Yeah, he's supposed to be working for us! Not you, Clown!" The blue-eyed twin agreed, also pointing his axe to White.
Hikari stood up and tweaked the twins' ears, earning a couple of 'aw's from them. "Guys just chill okay? White knows that I'm Hikari." She said sighing as she released their ears from her fingers. She placed her hands on her hips as the boys rubbed their ear. "Sorry about that White… I didn't know the twins would be here." She apologized.
White nodded, hands folded behind his back. "It's alright, my dear."
Dee and Dum turned to face the foreigner, their eyebrows furrowed down. "But Griffin nii-san! They were going to do bad things to you!" They both quickly wrapped their arms around Hikari's waist while holding their battle axe behind her.
The brunette sighed, placing her hands on each of the twins' shoulder. "Okay, okay, stop giving me those sad-kicked-puppy looks! You know how I feel about them!" she scolded, patting their head. "By the way, what are you two doing here again?" she asked, looking down.
Dee lifted his head up, "Oh! Chicky Rabbit told us you were going to visit the Clown!" he said with a smiled. "And you didn't return, so we thought you were in trouble!" Dum continued.
Hikari laughed. "I'm happy that you two are worried, but I'm fine, see? I'm just helping White around the Circus before going back to the Mansion." she explained. She pried the twins' arms off of her before picking up her jacket and vest. "Sorry I can't help around the Circus much like you wanted, White." She turned to face the Joker.
"Maybe next time, my dear." White waved his hand goodbye.
"Sounds great! And maybe I can kick Black's butt for pranking me!" Hikari laughed pumping her fist up in the air.
"Prank?" Both Dee and Dum asked in unison.
"I'll tell you while we walk back, 'kay?" Hikari said, looking down to them. She stood in between the twins as they walked further away from the redhead. She looked over her shoulder and smiled, waving her hand in goodbye. "Bye White! See you later!" she shouted.
White chuckled as he watched the three disappeared from his view. "My… the twins came in a perfect timing, didn't they, Black?" he asked, the smile never leaving his face.
"Cih…and just when we were going to the good part." Black grunted.
"Well to say the least, I do enjoy her company." White turned around to head back to the main tent.
"I'll say… I can't wait until it's April Season."
