Chapter 8:
Sorry I haven't posted for ages I was getting ready for my holiday then I was on my holiday then I've been getting ready for college. I am sorry but I will try to keep on top of it now. I hope you enjoy. Please favorite/follow/comment. Thank you for all the favorites/follows/comments already.
That whole night after the dance I couldn't sleep. I either felt bad for what I said in the car about Elena and Damon or Klaus kept calling me. I finally decided to get out of bed and got ready in for school. I walked downstairs to see Stefan stood looking out the window.
"Hey... I'm sorry Stefan. I was wrong to say what I said" I apologized walking towards him.
"I forgive you. You were right. I try to act like it's nothing but the way they look at each other... Everyone can see it" Stefan said.
"She loves you Stefan... I said it because I was angry..." I said.
"People speak the truth when they're angry" He said.
"Maybe you're right but she's still with you isn't she. You must mean everything to her else she wouldn't keep fighting to win you back" I tried to make up for my mistake.
"Are you going to fight back for Klaus little sister?" Damon walked in hearing our conversation.
"I don't think so. I don't need that sort of stress in my life" I said.
"I know he did wrong but you make him good. He gave me my humanity back because of you. You are the good in his life. He needs you" Stefan said hugging me.
"I agree with Stefan. You are the only thing that can change him for the better" Damon said joining the hug.
"Maybe you're right but first we have school" I said putting a smile on my face.
I let Stefan drive me to school in his old car even though I hated it. In a way I just wanted to make it up to Stefan anyway I could. That day at school Rebekah never turned up. I tried calling her at lunch but there was no answer. When school was finally over I walked out of school with Stefan and Elena to see Klaus was stood waiting.
"I'll be back in a minute" I gave Stefan a reassuring look before walking over to Klaus.
"We'll be over here waiting" Stefan said giving me a quick smile.
"Ivy... I'm sorry. What I did was wrong after all you did say that you just found a bit of happiness and I went and ruined it. Let me try to fix it. Kol wants a dinner with some of the people from Mystic Falls. I know it doesn't mean much and I don't expect you to forgive me but here's an invitation to the dinner for you and whoever you want to bring." Klaus said handing me an invitation.
"Since when do you do what Kol wants?" I asked taking the invitation.
"After he said I could invite one person and I chose you" Klaus smiled.
"Thanks. I'll see if I can attend. I better get going got a lot of homework to do" I lied not knowing what to say.
"I hope I see you there. Don't forget to dress formal" Klaus called after me as I walked back to Stefan and Elena and we started to leave school.
I got back to the house after deciding to walk on my own so I could think about what to do with Klaus. I went straight up to my bedroom ignoring Stefan, Damon and Elena. I threw my stuff on the floor and just fell onto my bed and closed my eyes.
"Are you going to the dinner?" I heard Rebekah.
"I don't know. Probably not" I said sitting up.
"Why not. Is it Kol or Klaus?" Rebekah sat next to me.
"Both" I answered.
"Look as annoying as Kol is he does have a heart but he just doesn't like to admit it. As for Klaus... I know he did wrong but I've never seen him do anything like that for anyone. I didn't come here to ask you to come to the dinner for Klaus or Kol. I came here to persuade you to go for me. I've never had anyone who I could call a friend until you and I really need a friend at this dinner or I am going to go insane" Rebekah laughed.
"I'll think about it but only because you're my friend" I laughed with Rebekah.
"Maybe you should forgive Klaus or at least understand his reasons. Put yourself in his shoes. I've got to go and get ready but there's a package under your bed from Klaus. It's only small. He told me to tell you that if you like it wear it tonight. That's if you decided to come" Rebekah said before leaving.
I looked under my bed as soon as she left and found a small box. I put it on the side and stared at it for a while not sure whether to open it. I left it and walked downstairs.
"How you doing little sis?" Damon said as he saw me come in.
"I'm getting there. Where's Elena?" I asked not seeing her with Stefan.
"She had some stuff to sort out with Jeremy" Stefan said.
"Well do you know if she's going to be finished with Jeremy soon?" I asked.
"I'll have to call her and ask... why?" Stefan asked.
"The Mikaelson's are having a dinner with people from Mystic Falls so Kol can get to know everyone and I was invited by Klaus. I wanted to know if my two wonderful brothers who love me more than anything would go with me to it tonight. I was going to ask if you wanted to invite Elena along as well" I asked.
"Do we have to dress up smart?" Damon asked.
"Yes it is formal" I answered him.
"Then I'm out sorry little sis" Damon said.
"Please Damon. I really want both of my big brothers there" I decided to use the puppy dog eyes.
"Fine. Don't expect small talk with anyone" Damon moaned.
"I can do the small talk for you brother. I'll ask Elena now" Stefan smiled walking out the door.
"Damon. I wanted to say sorry about last night. I shouldn't have said that about you and Elena. It was the heat of the moment and I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you" I apologized to him.
"I forgave you after you said it" Damon hugged me.
"By the way. I already but your suit on your bed" I smirked.
"If I hate it... I'm finding out my own suit" Damon smirked as we walked back up the stairs.
I walked in to my room and straight to my wardrobe. I had a lot of dresses from all the parties I used to go to but they just weren't perfect enough. I searched through my draws and everywhere and I couldn't find one dress.
"You're not that bad at picking a suit. I'll give you that. Where's your dress though?" Damon asked walking in.
"I can't find a single dress good enough. It's normally so easy" I stressed.
"I think I have one that's perfect for you. Follow me" Damon said walking out my room into another room that I'd never seen before.
"What are we doing in here?" I asked looking around.
"Here. I brought it when I first met you. I thought it would suit you for that sibling ball we were forced into going before you disappeared suddenly and I forgot about it till now" Damon told me handing me a box.
"It's beautiful" I said as I opened the box and there was a long strapless purple dress.
"I'm glad you like it now go put it on and get ready for this dinner so I can see you in it and no running off this time" Damon smirked.
I ran in my room and put the dress on. I did my make up and straighted my hair. But it wasn't complete. I looked around my room as I gazed at the box that Klaus had brought me. I walked over and sat on my bed. I picked the box up, opening it to see this heart-shaped necklace in it. I took it out the box and put it round my neck and then walked out to Damon.
"You are stunning little sis. Come on we don't want to be late and Stefan and Elena wont get in without us.
I ran back in my bedroom, put my purple heals on and grabbed the invitation before walking out to my car. We drove to Elena's where Elena, Stefan and Jeremy joined us in the car.
"I'm sorry about Jeremy but I insisted he came tonight" Elena apologized.
"It's fine. Lets just get going" I said driving to the Mikaelson's.
We got out of the car and walked to the house handing the invitation to the man at the door.
"I'm sorry but this is only plus one not plus four" The man said.
"I'm sorry that's my mistake I forgot to tell her. Just let them all in" Kol said walking over to us after whispering something in his ear.
"Of course Mr Mikaelson" The man said letting us go.
"How are you all tonight. If I knew there was five of you I would've made it a party not a dinner. Never mind. Ivy I must say you look fantastic" Kol smirked.
"Hands off her Kol. Go meet your other guests" Rebekah said sending him away.
"Thanks for that Rebekah" I smiled.
"I'm just glad you came. I have no one to talk to" Rebekah smiled back.
"Is that Matt?" Elena asked.
"Yes. Kol invited him. Not sure why but he did" Rebekah answered her.
"You guys can go do what you want. You don't have to follow me around all night" I told them.
"What if someone goes to hurt you?" Jeremy asked.
"You do know what I am and what I'm cable of right. I have over a hundred years experience with someone going to hurt me. I always win" I smirked walking off.
"Ivy Salvatore?" Alaric said as I bumped into him.
"The not very good vampire hunter and history teacher right?" I said sarcastically.
"I didn't expect to see you here today. Not after what happened at the dance yesterday. I was still in the school. I heard everything" Alaric told me.
"Not that it's any of your business but it's all been sorted" I lied.
"You don't like me do you?" He asked.
"I don't like anyone who kills vampires and I don't really like teachers either. Even if you don't kill ones you trust you still kill them. Another fact if you need a history lesson to teach to your students don't read it out of a text book they're just lies" I answered.
"And what would you suggest them fail History because they started writing about vampires and hunters and the originals. I think I'll stick to the text books with the students but don't worry I know the truth" Alaric answered back.
"You know what. I think I could grow to like you. You have an attitude keep that up and I won't hate you so much unless your teaching then you have no chance. But it was good talking to you Mr Saltzman" I smirked walking off.
I ended up having small talk with quite a few people there who wanted to know my story of why I moved here to be with my brothers. I gave them the lie of I was living with my grandmother but she died and I found my brothers were living here and I came to live with them. They buy it every time. I finally got outside for some air away from everyone and just wandered around. I heard footsteps behind me and I stopped to see who it was.
"You came in the end and you got the necklace" Klaus said walking up behind me.
"You know everyone's either been asking me why I'm here or telling me that I should be forgiving you for what you did to Kol. Not once today have I got to think about anything" I said.
"I can leave if you want" Klaus said.
"No I don't... I mean... Stay" I said looking at him.
"Why would anyone tell you to forgive me?" He asked.
"They think you did it for the right reasons. The best thing is their right. I shouldn't have snapped or anything. I shouldn't need to forgive you because there's nothing to forgive. I didn't even know you then and I'm only here still because of you. I also didn't come to Mystic falls because I came to save Stefan I came because for some strange reason I followed you back here and I stayed not for Stefan but for you" I blurted out.
"You have every reason to be angry at me I ruined your happiness. You were finally finding someone knew even if it was Kol" Klaus said.
"But there was always a feeling that there was someone else for me and it defiantly wasn't Kol. After you saved me I could never thank you because I didn't even know that it was you" I sat down on a bench.
"I never saw how you died with my blood in your system or what happened after" Klaus sat next to me.
"I was walking when the same guys saw me and this time they just stabbed me because I recognized them. When I woke up and everything was just 10 times worse. The lights were bright and everything was louder and I had this hunger. I sat there trying to ignore everything and then I smelt what I found out in the end was blood. This poor man had cut himself and he saw me and thought I was in trouble so he walked over and next thing I know he's on the floor dead and I killed him. The next night I was walking down the street because I couldn't go out in the sun and I saw the gang that killed me. So I killed them in anger" I told him.
"All that happened because of me" Klaus blamed himself.
"No. You saved my life. And because of you I found my brothers and I found everything I could ever dream of. It's not your fault and it never will be. Now come on I heard them just say dinner's ready we should head back in" I smiled as we walked back into the house and all sat down for the dinner.
"Welcome everyone. Thank you for coming to our dinner. Me and my brother Elijah haven't met any of you and I thought better to do it sooner than later. I hope you all have a wonderful time" Kol smirked.
Luckily there was real food for dinner and not the guests. I sat in between Rebekah and Damon but opposite Klaus, Kol and Elijah so it was a bit awkward at points but there was no deaths or blood spilt. Once it was over and all the guests had gone me, Damon, Stefan, Elena, Jeremy, Matt and Alaric decided to stay over and help clean up only because Kol had to make a deal with the man at the door that the five of us would stay over and help clean if he would let everyone in, as for Alaric and Matt they just decided to help.
"You and Klaus seem a lot happier" Rebekah smirked as we were picking up the empty glasses.
"We talked and sorted thing out. Though I don't know whats happening between you and Matt" I smirked.
"I don't know what you mean" she lied.
"I saw the way you two kept looking at each other. Is there something I should know?" I laughed.
"Not yet there isn't" Rebekah laughed.
"Whats going on in here?" Elijah asked.
"Nothing that concerns you Elijah. I better take these glasses into the kitchen" Rebekah smirked.
"Are you sure that's why you're going?" I laughed.
"I'll figure that out on the way" Rebekah laughed walking off.
"You seem to cheer up everyone in this family" Elijah said picking up some of the glasses.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You make Rebekah laugh and I haven't seen her laugh like that since she was human. You walk in the room and Niklaus lights up. Kol is always smiling around you" Elijah said.
"Looks like you're the only one I don't cheer up" I smirked.
"You cheer me up by cheering my family up. They all come together when your around" Elijah smiled.
"Well what can we say apart from she's unique" I heard a woman's voice. I looked up to see a woman and a man and Klaus, Rebekah and Kol had run in.
"I'm sorry. I don't know who you are" I said.
"Allow me to introduce myself. This is Finn Mikaelson their brother and I am Esther Mikaelson their mother" She smirked.
