Chapter 9
"Mother... What are you doing here?" Klaus asked walking in front of me.
"I'm here to put my family back together but it looks like someone has done it for me. What's your name?" Esther moved Klaus out the way.
"Ivy... Ivy Salvatore" I answered a little nervous.
"I would say it's nice to meet you but unfortunately you and your friends are going to have to leave. I would like to spend time with my family" Esther started to walk me out.
As we got closer to the door Esther stopped me and just stared at me before Stefan, Damon, Elena, Jeremy and Matt walked up to us.
"Thank you for coming. I hope to see you all again very soon" Esther smirked before shutting the door on us.
"Who was that?" Matt asked.
"That was their mother... Esther Mikaelson" I answered him.
"Well she seemed pleasant. All we needed was another Mikaelson never mind their mother" Damon said sarcastically.
"Maybe with their mom around they won't be so bad" Elena said.
"What did you think of her Ivy?" Jeremy asked.
"I don't know... I don't really trust her she didn't seem happy that she's with her family" I answered looking back at the window just as Esther closed the curtains on us.
"Come on we'd better go" Stefan said before we started walking away.
In the middle of the night I went downstairs because I couldn't sleep at all. I poured me a glass of bourbon unfortunately that's all we had tonight but it didn't bother me.
"I'm sorry about that earlier. We had an unexpected guest" I heard Klaus.
"How long have you been here?" I asked.
"Not long. I needed to get out of the house so I took a walk and heard you getting a drink" He smirked.
"Right. Do you want one?" I asked getting him a glass out as he nodded.
"I meant to say sorry about Kol's behavior tonight at the dinner... the little flirty comments and winks at you" Klaus took the drink off me.
"It's not Kol's behavior... it's your mothers" I said sitting down.
"What about my mother?" Klaus looked a bit annoyed about what I just said.
"I'm just going to say it... I don't trust her. There's this feeling in my gut that she's not here to play happy families" I said.
"You don't know her... so you can't judge her" Klaus snapped putting his glass down.
"I'm sorry I'm just being honest with you. Isn't that what you asked of me? I'm not saying I'm not going to give her a chance but I can't help how I feel" I put my glass down walking over to Klaus.
"No. I'm sorry. I should be honest" He said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I had the same feeling when she turned up that's why I stood in front of you. I thought I could protect you from her" Klaus look at me.
"What did you think your mother was going to do to my sister?" Stefan asked walking in after we woke him up.
"I don't know. It was my first instinct" Klaus said.
"Your first instinct was to save me?" I asked.
"It always is" Klaus smiled.
"Could you two be any more disgusting?" Damon moaned walking in pouring himself and Stefan a glass of bourbon.
"Look. My mother's spent most of her night looking into the history of Mystic Falls and she found out about Miss Mystic Falls and she wants to use my house as the venue for another Miss Mystic Falls. Since she and Finn got back they've been secretive and I don't know what they are planning but it's going to take place then. I don't trust them and I need your help to stop her" Klaus explained.
"What about your other brothers and your sister?" Damon asked.
"They won't listen to me. They're happy she's back and they trust her" Klaus answered.
"What do you expect us to do about it?" Stefan asked.
"I don't know... all I know is I need as much help as I can" Klaus said.
"I suppose we can help you this once but only for Ivy" Damon said.
"Thank you" Klaus thanked my brothers before leaving.
The rest of that night I sat downstairs with Stefan and Damon trying to come up with a plan of how we were going to stop Esther. It wasn't long till it was the morning and we still had no plan. We decided to call Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, Jeremy, Matt and Tyler to help us out.
"She's planning to do another Miss Mystic Falls... why is that a bad thing?" Caroline asked.
"Klaus thinks she doing it as a distraction for something bigger Stefan answered.
"Since when are you on Klaus' side. He has done nothing but hurt all of us at some point" Tyler said.
"I'm not saying to be best friends with him but he has come to us for help. Who would you rather have Klaus or Esther? I know my answer" I said.
"I agree with Tyler. I think your feelings for Klaus is clouding your judgement" Jeremy said.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I don't have feelings for Klaus!" I snapped.
"How about you just sign up to become the new Miss Mystic Falls? We have one thing that the other contestants won't have... Caroline" Elena changed the topic of conversation.
"I don't think so Elena. What's Caroline got to do with anything?" I asked confused.
"I am Miss Mystic Falls... well for now I am anyway" Caroline grinned.
"Not forgetting Elena was a contestant so she can help you aswell. You wanted to help Klaus. This might be your only chance to" Bonnie said.
"The only way? Honestly? Fine... Where do I sign up" I gave in.
We all went into town to see there was flyers already up for Miss Mystic Falls. We read one of them and found out where to sign up. Even though I tried many ways to protest out of doing it Caroline made me sign up.
"Didn't take you as the type to become Miss Mystic Falls?" I heard Rebekah.
"Well it's not my choice. That's what you get for hanging around with Caroline" I lied.
"Are you sure it's not because Klaus asked you to help him with our mother?" Rebekah asked.
"Do you actually trust your mother? Or were you all just lying to Klaus?" I asked back.
"Of course I trust my mother. Afterall Klaus put her in a coffin just like the rest of us" Rebekah said.
"You know you can't lie to me Rebekah. I can see it in your face... you don't trust her at all and neither does anyone else. Why are you letting her think that you trust her?" I told her.
"Look you want the truth... here it is... My mother was put in a coffin by Klaus just like the rest of his family. I've had to live either in a coffin or without my parents while Klaus just roamed free and lived his life. Now my mother is back and I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep her here. I trust my mother and maybe you should do the same because Klaus will only let you down" Rebekah said storming off.
"You'll have to ignore my sister... she's having a bad day. Shall we take a walk?" Elijah said walking up to me.
"Sure why not" I said walking out the door.
"You see my sister looked up to my mother when she was little... before she was what she is now. It was my mother's idea to turn us into vampires and it messed with all our heads. Rebekah took it the worst she wanted to grow up... have a husband and a family but our mother took it away from her. Rebekah doesn't trust our mother... we all don't trust her apart from Finn... Klaus is the only one to be open about it but that is Klaus normally. We're just letting our mother and Finn think that we trust her because we know she's got something planned, Rebekah just doesn't want to say it out loud" Elijah explained.
"Wow... that's... I don't actually have any words to describe it... Look whatever Esther has planned we're all here to help stop her" I told him.
"Klaus has got you twisted round his finger" Kol smirked walking up to us listening to our conversation.
"No he hasn't... He was sticking up for her until I told him what I thought of her" I stuck up for him.
"And what is you think of our dear mother?" Kol asked.
"That she isn't her to bring her family back together as she keeps saying. She's here for something much worse and I don't know what" I answered.
"Maybe she is... maybe she isn't... either way it isn't your problem" Kol shouted.
"Back off Kol. Finn or our mother isn't out her you don't have to act" Rebekah meet us.
"You can't be so sure sister... Do you even know where they are?" Kol asked.
"They're having one of their secret meetings" Klaus said walking over.
"Ivy... Everybody's been looking for you. They're getting ready to announce the contestants picked for Miss Mystic Falls" Caroline shouted running over dragging me back into the room pushing me onto the stage.
I stood there looking at everyone waiting for Esther to come onto the stage to announce the 5 picked contestants. I looked over as the Mikaelson's walked through the door and stood at the back of the room.
"Stop looking nervous... you're going to be fine" Klaus whispered.
"How do you know... you're mother isn't exactly my best friend" I whispered.
"Because she wasn't choosing who got picked" Klaus smirked.
"Well I guess that's a positive" I smirked back as Esther walked onto the stage.
Esther introduced herself and said a few paragraphs about why she was hosting Miss Mystic Falls before saying who was picked. The 4 contestants were already picked and there was still 10 people left hoping to get the last place. I was hoping to get a place just because it was part of the plan.
"The last contest is... Ivy Salvatore" Esther said pulling a face.
"Told you" Klaus smirked.
I went and joined the other 5 contestants with a smirk on my face from Klaus. I looked over at Esther and she just glared at me before walking off the stage over to her family.
"Now for the real work to begin" Caroline ran up to me.
"What do you mean by real work?" I asked.
"Well the interview, learning the dance, finding your dress, finding a date, getting ready then the actual day" Caroline said excitedly.
"Remind me why I signed up for this..." I moaned to my brothers as Caroline dragged me off.
"Don't worry me and Elena will sort everything out for you" Caroline smiled before leaving me and dragging Elena away.
"Take the time while can... Blondy will be back before you know it" Damon smirked walking off with everyone else.
"Congratulations... I'm surprised you even signed up... You don't seem like you're the type to be into this" I heard Esther behind me.
"Ermmm... I didn't know there was a type but thanks" I turned around.
"I don't know what you are planning but you won't win" Esther got straight to the point.
"I don't know what you're talking about...I have to go... I'll see you around" I said turning away from her.
"Stay away from my family... especially Klaus... I know you have feelings for him but he doesn't share those feelings" She shouted as I walked away.
"First of all don't tell me what to do! Secondly maybe if you want that to happen tell your family to stay away from me after all they come to me for help and I don't have feelings for Klaus... even if I did it wouldn't have anything to do with you!" I snapped before walking out the door.
I ran to my car and sat in it for a while. I ignored every call and text I had of anyone. I needed some time to think. Everyone was telling me what I should and shouldn't do or feel. As I was deep in though I heard a knock at the window bringing me back to reality. I looked to see Alaric
"Can I help you?" I asked Alaric.
"Damon asked me to see if you were alright. Everyone was worried when you didn't get back to the house and they knew I was in town" He said.
"I'm fine I just needed some space to think about everything" I told him.
"What did you need to think about?" He asked.
"It was something Esther said before I left" I answered.
"What did she say?" Alaric asked.
"She said to stay away from her family and that I have feelings for Klaus that he doesn't share and that I'm not going to win against her" I explained.
"She panicking" He said.
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
"She's scared that you will win against her because her family is on our side... also she knows Klaus will do anything to save you even if that means killing his own mother" Alaric told me.
"You think so?" I asked concerned.
"defiantly... she's scared of you" Alaric said.
"Well then... It's time to petrify her instead. I have to go get ready to become the new Miss Mystic Falls" I smirked
"Good luck" Alaric said.
"Thank you" I said hugging him before getting back in the car and driving back to the Salvatore mansion.
When I got back everyone was in the living room coming up with ideas and there was paper with scribbles on them all around the room. I walked in and everyone just stopped and looked at me.
"So... What's everyone got so far?" I smirked joining them.
