Hey, everyone! This chapter was originally going to be split into two parts, but I decided that I need to fill some story holes now so that things can be just a little bit clearer. Anyway, hope you all enjoy! New character introduced in this one! OC obviously. If you guys have ideas for 'worlds' (games, anime, movies, etc) that I should have later in my Kingdom War saga, please PM me or tell me in your review. AND PLEASE REVIEW!
Chapter 13: A Key and an Inheritance
Seras and Aqua went to Integra's office and told her that they were going out for a while. Her only condition was that, if they went off the grounds, to be back before 10pm, for that is when Seras and Alucard start mission time. And it would be their last night of missions until they got back from South America. They had no problem with that, for they didn't plan on going off the grounds anyway. It was 5:37 p.m., and they certainly didn't plan on staying out for any longer than maybe two hours. They had no idea what was in store for them.
Meanwhile…
Anderson was looking through records of anybody that the Vatican may have encountered that wielded the same weapon as the girl he fought a couple days ago. He looked down and thought back to that. He got arrogant. The girl overpowering him like that was probably his punishment. However, his gut really is telling him otherwise. What is really disturbing him was how she had him in for a decapitating blow. If it hadn't been for Alucard laughing his ass off like he did, Anderson would be without a head. Anderson thought about this for a second, and realized that girl could have sent him to Heaven, but it looks like it wasn't Anderson's time. Everything happens for a reason, he keeps telling himself. Still, that weapon of hers was something else. She herself was unique. Were there others like her?
He kept looking through records and files, ad just as he was about to give up hope; he came across the picture of a former Vatican staff member.
Mark. No last name. Gender: M. Age: Unknown. Hair: Brown. Eyes: Hazel. Height: 6'0''. Current Address: 22 Valen Drive, Wheeling, West Virginia. Birthplace: Unknown. Religion: Undetermined. Status: Unemployed.
What had come next was what had caught Anderson's attention. It listed his occupancy within the Vatican as Monster Hunter. They hadn't used that title in over 97 years! How was he still alive?! And his weapon was listed as something called a 'Keyblade'! Could this be a person like the girl he fought? He looked into the personality profile of this guy. It had been written by the predecessor of His Holiness himself!
Employee displayed anti-social behavior, but was willing to do almost absolutely anything to help the Vatican. Something told us that we needed him amongst our ranks. He had suffered severe trauma as a child. Extremely abusive parents and no friends whatsoever. Scars covered almost his entire body according to the physician's report. One of the scars on his back was shaped like a cross! It was sickening to see. The man had almost no sense of feeling, but that did not mean he didn't have emotions. He would sometimes have rather insane outbursts. Still, he was a great help to the Vatican in so many ways. Even helped with Operation: Millennium. He was one of the operatives to help the Last Battalion of the Third Reich's movement to South America. He stayed on for another 2 years before we were forced to remove him due to his rather…split personality. We could no longer have him damper our image. I miss him, though. He used to even teach me about the tides of Light and Darkness and taught me how to keep an eye on such tidings through the Lord's guidance.
Anderson then looked at the latest report on Mark that was made…the same day as he fought Aqua! He looked at all the reports very intently. They were all made by Heinkel while he was spying on him over in America. He has been sending his reports on a secure line on the internet. Well, that explains where the guy has been these past 5 days.
10/21/2014-Update: Subject is suspected of being immortal creature. Classification: Unknown. Bishop Maxwell gave orders to exterminate him, but His Holiness has doubts. Will refrain from advancing on suspect until Pope gives orders
10/22/2014-Update: Suspect confirmed as vampire class E. (Wait, Seras Victoria is a class E!) Orders are to exterminate the suspect ASAP. Will wait until dawn and will try to eliminate target while it's slumbering.
10/23/2014-Update: Mission Failed. Suspect has escaped and fled to South America. Damn thing used a key-shaped sword and almost annihilated me! Orders from the Bishop are to return to Rome. He specifically said we shouldn't even be bugging with the Americans anyway, but I have a bad feeling about this. Will get on the next plane to Rome tomorrow morning.
Anderson couldn't believe it. He then looked at the guys file again, and then just as he was about to close it up; the file got marked as restricted. Classification: Above Top Secret. Anderson's eyebrows peeked up in curiosity.
Maxwell then walks in with the most serious look Anderson has seen on him in almost…forever. "Anderson, I need a favor. I know you were just looking at Mark's file. We had to mark it as classified above even your clearance; for now. I actually need you to hunt him down," he explained. Maxwell knew that he might not respond too well. After almost being killed by a NON-vampire using this Keyblade, you want to send me against a vampire almost as powerful as Alucard wielding one of these things?! Anderson gave him a look of almost utter disdain. Maxwell had better come up with something quick.
"I understand you are still feeling pretty down about that thing with that girl, but this is a vampire, and they ARE your specialty, so you might actually have a better chance. Please," Maxwell half pleaded. Anderson thought about it for a minute and decided that Maxwell may be right on this one. He will give it a shot. His best bet would be to catch this guy off guard. Looks like Anderson was on his way to South America.
He thought about that for a second though, and remembered that Millennium is supposedly nesting there. He decided he isn't going to worry about it. If they decide to interfere, then he will merely just show them the error of their ways. He made his preparations and boarded a flight to South America.
The Major was getting extremely giddy. He knew that soon, Brazil was going to be in total chaos. He just received word that the long-time exiled Keyblade wielder Mark had landed in South America. Everything was going according to plan. Anderson should be there in two days, and the Hellsing Agents should be there in three, for he knows that they will be delayed thanks to the little skirmish about to take place soon that will change the fate of every world; with a single bite from one beautiful No-Life-Queen known as Seras Victoria. Aqua will become one of the most unusual, and perhaps one of the most powerful vampires in history.
"Herr Doctor, give Tublacain Alhambra his new orders. He is to bribe the police of Brazil to look ze other vay when we commit our little murders that will lead the Hellsings to us. Once they have tracked him down, tell him not to engage until I give ze order," the Major spoke. It was time for Phase 2.
Aqua and Seras headed out to the garden that Walter had maintained on Arthur Hellsing's order a couple of years before he passed. The two walked out of the mansion, and it was damned bright out. Aqua looked over to Seras and saw she was still smiling. It's like the sunlight didn't even faze her. Aqua just couldn't help but smile back. They then started their walk.
Vanitas arrived just in time to see his targets come out of the Hellsing mansion for their little 'walk'. He was to observe for a little while before attacking, but he had to make sure the power of the Keyblade was passed on to Seras before he acted. He stayed in the trees and used the stealth techniques that he learned from Xehanort.
"Aqua, can I talk to you," Seras asked the blue-haired girl. Aqua nodded her head in approval. Seras smiled. "Do you think that ALL darkness is bad," Seras asked sincerely. Aqua looked down in a bit of shame. She doesn't really know how to respond. Just then, flashes of Master Eraqus started shooting through her mind.
"The Master always taught me that darkness needs to be destroyed. He said that darkness was our foe," she replied. Seras thought about this for a second. She then smiled at her and gave her reply. "I can understand where he comes from. In a way, I was the same way. I always thought that darkness was an extremely horrible thing, but that's when I was still human. Aqua," Seras was saying as she put her hand on the blue-haired girl's shoulder. Aqua looked over at her in wonder. "Sometimes dark things and darkness itself can be used to do a lot of good. The trick is learning how to 'properly' utilize it. It takes a lot of getting used to, but it is something that can allow you to stay strong through even the most difficult of trials. Remember, even in the darkest darkness, there is always a little shred of light that can never be extinguished," Seras explained in a comforting tone.
Aqua looked up at the sun which was finally starting to set. She smiled, having a realization that told her Seras was right. Darkness is an essential part of life. She had forgotten that until this…very wise and strong girl reminded her. Aqua looked at Seras who was smiling and realized something she should have noticed before: she was more human than anyone Aqua has ever met in her travels, and was a good candidate for…no, she isn't sure she wants that for her. The life of a Keyblade wielder is an extremely hard one.
Aqua looked at Seras who was still smiling. She decided that now is the perfect time to talk to her about the Keyblade, then Aqua would make her decision on whether or not the power should be passed on to her.
"Seras, I now wish to ask You something," Aqua said to the blonde vampire. Seras looked at Aqua with the same happy face and nodded in approval. "What do you think about the Keyblade," Aqua asked. Seras looked at her curiously. Then, out of nowhere, Seras smiles again and says, "I think it is a great tool for…well, doing what you do. It may be a rough life, but so is being a vampire; especially one in service to Hellsing." Aqua just can't help but sense the bright shining light emanating from Seras's heart. Aqua already made her decision. She has finally found someone who can succeed her. It was time for the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony.
Aqua summons her Keyblade and smiles at Seras who was in shock. Aqua then gave the speech, "In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be. And you will find me, friend—no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love." Seras was then almost compelled to take the blade. She placed her hand on the grip, and Aqua was in deep thought and almost started sweating bullets, for if the Keyblade doesn't accept Seras as a successor; then it will return to Aqua's other hand.
Seras grabbed the grip of the blade and just stood there. The two girls had stood there for a full minute, both holding the Keyblade. It has accepted Seras as a successor. Aqua then looked at Seras, sheathed her Keyblade, and said," You have to keep this a secret fromeverybody, even Alucard and Integra, or else the magic will wear off." Seras nodded in understanding. They both then smiled at each other and continued their walk.
