Chapter 14: A Second Chance at Life
Vanitas watched as Aqua perform that damned ceremony and passed on the power of the Keyblade to that damned vampire. He hated that he was ordered not to interrupt it, but orders are orders. He waited until it was finally over. That 3 minutes seemed like a fucking eternity. He can't wait to destroy a part of Aqua, because he will be taking her life one way or the other. Whether or not she comes back from it will be entirely up to the Police-girl.
Hmm…I think that I will cut a couple of veins and then cut her right across the gut to where she should lose about 1 and a half liters of blood. Her body will have lost enough blood to where if she isn't turned within at least 2 minutes; she will die. Vanitas had everything figured out. Now was the time to strike.
Aqua held up her hand to stop Seras. A dark presence is approaching… "Seras, ready yourself. We got company," she warned the blonde vampire. Seras got a serious look on her face and got ready for battle.
2 minutes earlier…
Walter knew that the Major was going to send whomever had replaced him against Seras and Aqua. If he didn't hurry; another part of the Major's plan would come to fruition, and he likes Aqua enough to try and stop it. He didn't bother to warn Integra or Alucard and booked it out the door. He was going to stop this new pawn in the Major's twisted game of chess.
Vanitas came down and struck Aqua right in the shoulder; cutting her at least 4 inches deep. He turned with the momentum he had and nailed Seras right in the ribcage, knocking her back a couple of feet. He then jumped out of the way as Aqua swung her own Keyblade right at his head. Hmph. Probably trying to unmask me. Pathetic. He then used incredible speed to jump right back at Aqua and very deeply cut open a couple of veins right under her ribcage.
Aqua was starting to lose a lot of blood, and she was starting to feel dizzy already. Did he really cut me that deep? She didn't have time to ponder as he came at her again after cutting off Seras's leg, which was very slowly regenerating. Just as she was about to strike at the masked boy, he launched a ball of dark fire into her face; causing her to grab it in pain. Then, she was completely paralyzed. She noticed that he teleported behind her and struck her hard enough in the spine to bring her down; blood starting to pool around her.
"NO," Seras exclaimed as she fired off a couple of incendiary shells from the Harkonnen to try and destroy the masked figure. He had jumped right out of the way and began running. Just as he had opened some sort of dark portal in front of him; a wall of wires appeared directly in front of him.
"You're not going anywhere, young man," Walter said furiously. He then swung his arms and his wires wrapped around the boy and his Keyblade. The boy certainly struggled, but not for long; as he managed to fire off a volley of dark projectiles that shattered Walter's wires. This caused Walter to stagger in pain. The wires that were still wrapped around the boy's Keyblade were cut by the Keyblade itself! Wow. The Keyblade really is a weapon of immense power, Walter thought as he cringed in pain. Those wires are a part of him, so them being severed like that hurts.
Vanitas then ran through the dark portal as it closed. He wasn't going to spend another damned second there. He was almost killed just now! Damned butler! He will have his revenge on that old shit soon enough. He then proceeded to the Keyblade Graveyard, where his master lies in wait.
"AQUA," Seras screamed as she ran over to the bleeding out girl. Her blood was literally pooling. Seras couldn't believe how much that boy had damaged her with just a few hits.
"She has already lost too much blood, Seras. As a No-Life-Queen, you can turn anyone you choose; as long as they are a virgin," Walter said. He walked over and looked at the downed Keyblade wielder. "There is nothing I can do. She now has a choice," Walter said with absolute sincerity. Seras looked down and couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu.
"Are you a virgin, Aqua," Seras asked. Aqua nodded her head yes. Seras then looked back up at Walter. "Is there enough time to at least tell her what she will be getting into," Seras asked. Walter nodded his head no. Seras then looked at Aqua.
"There is no time left, Aqua. What will you do," Seras asked almost emotionless. Aqua looked at the blonde vampire and had at least a minute to think. Aqua was in a bit of a bind. The night holds much darkness, which she has dread her entire life. Yet, there is a great amount of light within Seras. Perhaps there may be a way for her to balance the light and the darkness in her heart. She made her decision.
Aqua held out her hand to the blonde vampire and hoarsely said, "H…elp… me.…" For some strange reason, Seras could not help but grin like Alucard. She doesn't know why, but she didn't care at the moment. Seras bent down and bit Aqua to drink a little of Aqua's blood and then put her own in.
Aqua felt Seras's bite. Man, it was like a German Shepherd's with syringes for damn teeth. However, it only hurt for a minute before Aqua started feeling rather…ill. Probably from so much blood being drained out of her at once; between the wounds and Seras drinking out of her. Then, she started to feel quite queasy when Seras began putting vampire blood into Aqua's system. Aqua felt like she was starting to get Anemia. Her skin started going extremely white, and she felt extremely tired and sick. There was an ache throughout her entire body due to the new blood that was trying to assimilate with Aqua's body.
Aqua could feel almost every single thing that Seras felt. It was like the two were almost becoming a single person. She felt the sadness Seras did of having to bring yet another vampire into this world. But, she also feels the happiness and anticipation of Seras finally getting her first fledgling.
Walter was cringing. His newfound hatred for the Major still did not allow him to stop at least one part of his plan from succeeding. Dammit. There is no stopping the Major's plan any more. He waited for Seras's blood to settle in Aqua before they carried her back to the mansion.
Aqua was now passed out and…well, by all rights, dead. Seras's new blood-bond with Aqua told her that she should be waking up within the next 20 minutes. Seras looked at Walter and said, "We better get her to the mansion. We need to inform Integra about this." Walter bowed his head and helped Seras carry the blue-haired girl to the Hellsing mansion.
"DAMMIT! Give me one good reason why I shouldn't shove a stake through her right now," Integra screamed. Seras, Alucard, Pip Bernadotte, and Walter were all in attendance. Everyone in her office was starting to get chills, except for Alucard. "Come now, Master. You had no qualms about my turning Seras. Why should Aqua be any different? Besides; if it weren't for Aqua, who is to say this world wouldn't be shrouded in the Dark Realm already? She did, by all rights, save us from the Heartless," Alucard explained, grinning like a total bastard. Integra thought about that for a minute. He had a point. "And don't forget what she does for a living. Would you really rid the universe of such a treasure," Alucard added. He had yet another good point. Integra then sighed. We are starting to get way too many vampires in this home. In MY home. Just then, one of the medics of the mansion burst in. "Sir Integra, she is regaining consciousness."
Aqua was seeing flashbacks of her entire life. Her childhood before she had inherited the Keyblade, training under Master Eraqus, the arrival of Ven, the friendly duels with Terra, the nights they had spent together under the stars, etc. It was all flashing through her mind. Then she saw Seras. She smiled and plainly said, "How do you feel? Being dead isn't as bad as it seemed, is it?" Aqua looked at her in confusion, then remembered what happened. She looked down to see her body completely torn up from the masked boy's Keyblade. She then looked back up to Seras, who grinned. "The choice was yours," she said. Aqua woke up screaming.
