It was simple really. Well, to Kendall that is. He had made a... list of the sorts, to narrow down what he wanted in a life partner. However, he made the list solely based on personality and what he assumed love and such would be like. The blonde didn't think that five years later, after writing the list, he'd find his Dreamlover and live so happily ever after. Especially not in his 20's. Finding love so you, this was truly a miracle.
Logan, his dream come true, is everything on his list and more. To example this better, maybe it would be wise to tell you. So let's start with the first notation on Kendall's list.
1. I want a lover who knows me. Who understands how I may feel inside when it truly matters.
September 25th, 2015
"Kendall, what's wrong Love? You haven't been acting like yourself today." Quieried Logan's baritone voice. He frowned at Kendall, worried about what could be bothering his Love. It wasn't often that he would see the blonde in such a done mood. It made Logan's heart sink.
"I'm just thinking about my past..." Kendall trailed off, not meeting Logan's eyes and it was then that he understood what was causing the blonde's distress. They haven't been able to fully break down the walls of each other's past but Logan understands that it will take time and he would never push Kendall if he thought he wasn't ready. Warm brown eyes melting into Kendall's soul as Logan stared at him with so much intensity. It was then that Kendall felt like Logan just knew him on a different level; that he understood him.
"Don't let whatever's hovering over you from your past bring you down. I know I may not know much yet about you but I know enough to say that you are a sweet, and caring soul." Logan said matter-of-factly. His tone serious as he looked deeply into green eyes that finally met his own. Kendall felt so open and exposed in their shared moment, he felt so understood. It was like a piece of him unlocked for the smart make he was starting to fall for.
2. I don't want another pretender like Jo who lied about really caring about me. No more disillusioners, just whispering words of forever only to play with my mind.
March 13th, 2015
"Why are you trying so hard to push me away Kendall?" Logan yelled in frustration at the blonde in front of him. Said blonde huffed and crossed his arms over his chest, making himself appear small. Looking down, he frowned as thoughts raced through his mind. Making images of past hurt resurrace.
"Because I know you are only trying so hard to stay with me to get something in return! That's what everyone does. No one really cares..." Blurted out Kendall, unable to hold it in any longer. He has the smallest thought in the back of his head that maybe he should have tried to keep that buried within himself instead of in the middle of the street, on Palm Woods Boulevard, at 10:37 pm at night, while rain is falling heavily over both of them. Similar to a romance movie, he mused. But it did not make their situation falter in instensity as he raised his head and gave the man in front of him a defensive look. However, Logan could see right through him and saw his confusion and residule sorrow that just would not go away.
The brown eyed man in front of him stilled. He watched Kendall for a long moment; the sound of rain deafening. He moved towards the blonde until they were a couple of inches apart. Kendall frozen in place as he looked down a the black ground. Logan began to speak softly, "You're wrong, Kendall. I don't want anything from you. I want to give you my love and I hope in return, you'd give me yours. I don't know who hurt you but I do know that they didn't deserve someone as loving and loyal as you. I DO care Kendall and I won't ever stop." The brunet finished, looking at Kendall so intently. The blonde couldn't breath for a moment. He felt something else inside him come together again. The blonde's body moved on its own and he placed a soft kiss on Logan's lips.
3. Through my long lonely nights, I need someone to comfort and hold me.
November 4th, 2015
Tonight was the night Kendall told Logan about his broken past. Tears streaming down his face as he laid with Logan, replaying all he could bare to utter out. Logan, who's arms wrapped around him protectively, listened intently and shushing him when he couldn't get certain past events out. Logan held him and murmured words like, "You're safe. You're okay." Into his ear and pressed butterfly kisses all over his face.
Logan made sure Kendall didn't face anymore of his past alone again. He let himself become the blonde's anchor, who in return, did the same for him.
4. I need someone uplifting. Who will be able to only be with me sometimes and take me away from the world around us.
April 16th, 2016
As Logan and Kendall walked on the sidewalk to their apartment, the smart male all of a sudden pulled them in another direction.
"Wha-What are you doing, Doc?" Kendall asked Logan with wide eyes as he was being led to a woodsy area near their home.
"Just wait and see." Simpered Logan.
They walked in a comfortable silence. Both held the others hand as they made their ways. After a beat of moment, Logan came to a stop and in front of Kendall was such a beautiful sight. It was a small lagoon that had formed. The sight of the lagoon was accompanied with the inticing sounds of the forest. It was simply marvelous and brought a huge smile to the tall blonde's face. He looked at Logan and smiled ever so brightly.
Logan smiled back just as big. " I found this place a long time ago and it was my own little world. But now I know who I want to share it with." He spoked tenderly, looking bashful and very nervous as he waited for Kendall to say something.
"I would love that."
The fifth and final note on Kendall's list was what he thought to be the most important, and that was:
5. I just want someone to belong to everyday of my life and always. But also vice verse, I want someone to be mine too. I want us to love each other so unconditionally.
August 1st, 2018
This was it. Today Kendall and Logan would be pronounced husbands and that thought alone made the blonde's body tingle. He and Logan have been together for a total of 5 years and 3 months. They loved each other deeply and were now going to share their love in front of everyone. It was at this moment Kendall knew where he belonged. With Logan, and Logan with him. He was whole.
This is how Kendall D. Knight-Mitchell knew he found his Dreamlover. Or rather, how his Dreamlover was sent to him.
