Hello everyone! So this chapter is short and sweet. I felt like going a little innocent this time around. I hope you enjoy dahlings. Oh and I feel like I will do multiple chapters to this song because it is one of my favorites by Mariah Carey and the song itself is so inspiring.
Song: Anytime You Need a Friend
Album: Music Box
Pairing: Kenlojamos lol Kendal, Logan, James, and Carlos (Friendship)
Carlos sat alone, close to tears in the very open and large school cafeteria. He was new to Palm Woods High school. Everyone at his new school have been nothing but rude and vicious towards the small Latino. Apparently, not a lot of people thought of a hyperactive personality as enticing. Instead annoying and bothersome, leading him to be singled out quite frequently. Carlos tried not to let it bring him down, but with it happening consistently he was beginning to question himself and his character.
As he tried to focus on his meal, the sad teen was unaware of a tall blonde along with two other guys making their way towards him. With shaking hands, he picked up his sandwich from his lunch tray in front of him, intending to take a small bite of it. However, just as the PB&J grazed his lips, the blonde appeared in front of him. Carlos offered the stranger a timid smile, which the brunet in front of him glowered at.
"You're in my seat!" He exclaimed at Carlos, while also bending over towards Carlos. The blonde used his pointer finger to push Carlos' chest. The little Latino's eyes widened.
"Yeah, you're in our seats too. Matter of fact, this is our table." Said the raven on the tall blonde's left. He too, had his face set in a malicious glare. A glare that made Carlos' inside turn cold.
There was a brunet on the tall blonde's right that held the same face as the other two. Which caused a sinking feeling in Carlos' stomach to worsen as he stared up at the three males in front of him. He was frozen in complete shook and fear. He was starting to feel numb in his body. They looked to be the same age as him, meaning most likely in the 10th grade like himself.
As he sat there, the once enthusiastic teen had the smallest thought in the back of his head that maybe he should, you know, move but his body would not cooperate with his mind. Which meant he sat there as these three bullies glares intensified. It had to be the scariest moment Carlos has ever felt in his life.
"Okay, I guess you don't seem to get the message. GET THE FUCK UP, BEFORE YOU GET YOUR ASS BEAT." Bellowed the tall blonde, who seemed to be the leader. The whole cafeteria went quite as they stared at the scene as well. His blue eyes pierced into Carlos, making him even more stunned and scared at his body's lack of movement.
"You better move now, man. Jett never turns down beating some loser up." Came the brunet on the right of Jett, the blonde.
However, right as Carlos' body started to listen and scadattle a voice rang out.
"Leave him alone, Jett! He didn't do anything wrong. It's a fucking table." Turning to his left, Carlos saw a short raven haired classmate of his defend him.
"Fuck off, Logan! This is our business. Go find a pair." Yelled the other raven-haired boy on Jett's left. Logan grimaced at them before smirking as he walked right up to the boy who just yelled at him.
"Don't pretend you're all big and bold now, Dak. Carlos may not know how much of a piece of spineless shits you three are but I do and I know I have enough of a pair to beat your ass." Logan stated into the completely silent cafeteria. Just about every student was so focused on the scene that was happening. Carlos on the other hand, was more focused on the fact that his savior knew his name.
Dak visibly shrank under Logan's knowing smirk. Slowly, he backed away until he was behind Jett. The blonde on the other hand, looked livid as he met the testing brown eyes in front of them.
"Three against one, Logan? Don't start something you can't finish." Jett spoke through gritted teeth. The brunet on his right nodded as he took a small, defensive step forward. Carlos looked worried as he prepared, (although scared beyond believe), to stand and help Logan fight his own battle. But an arm stopped him from behind and as he turned to see who it was, the Latino met soft green eyes that belonged to a different blonde; dirty blonde. One who also had a tall brunet next to him also. The brunet smiled at Carlos reassuringly.
"Count again Jett. How about you, Dak and Wally fuck off like Logan said before James and I have to join him in beating the stupid out of you." The tall dirty blonde said as he turned away from looking at Carlos. There were small giggles that came from various people around the lunchroom. Carlos' brown eyes looked around and saw that way more students were in the cafe than before.
"Y'all are really defending this loser? Why do you care anyway? This is OUR table!" Wally, the brunet on Jett's right finally said after a small moment of silence.
"Because it's just a table and you need to learn how to stop patronizing people who sat here." James said as he walked closer to where Logan stood.
There was another long pause before Jett broke it. "Come on guys. The loser isn't worth our time." The blonde bully grunted out before turning away from the scene in front of him. His friends reluctantly followed. Although Dak looked a tad more relieved than anything Carlos observed.
"Hey, you okay?" Asked Logan after watching the three goons leave the lunchroom.
Carlos turned to look at his saviors. Smiling brightly, "Yep, I'm more than okay. Thank you guys for doing this. You really didn't have to. I-" Carlos rambled on until James interrupted him.
"Hey, Carlos right? Don't thank us. Just know that we got your back against Jett and that makes you our friend. So anytime you need a friend, we will be here for you." James said softly as Logan and Kendall, the blonde, nodded their heads in agreement.
The small Latino blushed as his insides warmed. For the first time since he's moved to a new school, he felt secure. That is the best feeling he could possibly have in the world.
He'd never be alone again, that was his biggest fear. Carlos had friends. Friends that would be right by his side.
