A/N: Hello again! The first post this month! But I made it. XD Expect another next week, somewhere before 29th or after XD I have a math test on 29th I will have to study for... Enjoy :)
Two days later, with the ship hidden somewhere carefully, the Straw Hats, now with a new addition, were ready to go. Or so they thought, the night before they were supposed to leave, as they sat across the kitchen chatting happily one with other. Or more like Reina and Ace were talking, Luffy sleeping, Zoro drinking, Nami and Usopp glaring at Reina, Sanji cooking and Chopper preparing medicines…
"You really joined the Whitebeard pirates?" Reina inquired surprised, and irritated. She hadn´t heard that… and last time she checked, Ace wanted to have his own crew. So, what happened for him to change his mind?
"Yep." Showing off his tattoo, Reina sighed as he smiled at her happily. "White Beard is like my father… or more like, I think of him as my father." The proud look in his eyes told the whole story, and she found herself feeling happy for him. She had heard about his real father and who he had been… so for him to find someone he trusted and liked enough to call father was a huge thing.
"Is that so?" As a kind smile rose to her lips, Ace blushed a little bit, a little bit distracted. She changed so much in such little time… How long had it been since he last saw her? Two or three years? More, less…? Well, it didn't matter. He felt like he hadn´t seen her for ages! "Wait, does that mean he is my father too? You know, since technically we are siblings…"
The confused look in her eyes made him laugh, and almost cry for that matter, catching the attention of everyone else. "If you want to." Ace mumbled in the middle of the laughs, ignoring the irritated glare she sent him. "He would love to have a lovely daughter as you. However, as you said, we are only technically siblings, so you can do whatever you want."
"Hmm… I guess you are right…" As she looked towards the window, fixating the cold and dark sky, Ace rufled her head. Maybe she grew a little bit, but she still was that little curious child who got herself into a lot of trouble. Sometimes, he wondered if she was worse than Luffy… and least that idiot could defend himself.
As for her, they did teach her how to fight, in which she was pretty good he had to admit, but there was always that little problem which hunted her… Her magic. It took them little time to figure out she was talking truth when she told them about magic. That is, until she got mad and destroyed a whole tree with only one punch, just because she wanted to destroy something…
"Stop that." Reina stated all out sudden, blushing as she forced his hand away from her now messy hair. Did he know how long it took her to comb her hair? It never listened to her, always trying to appear messy… "I am not little anymore, you know that, right?"
Ace smirked, and continued to pet her, much to her annoyance. And then, all out sudden, the door to the storage opened, and whole piece of meat flew Ace´s way, almost hitting him in the face. The dark haired man just jumped out of the way, and it hit the sleeping Luffy, who for some reason grabbed it and started eating.
"You know that won´t stop me, right?" Ace joked, noticing Reina´s her cheeks, his hand always ruffling her hair. The green eyes teen pouted, and glared at him again. She never understood his fixation with ruffling her hair… it only made it look worse.
"Ace, stop it!" She demanded trying to catch his hand once again, but he just dodged, laughing evilly while running around her. "Ace!" She yelled, and this time it was pots´ time to start flying. One by one, the five pots Sanji cherished so much rose in the sky, and aimed at Ace.
"What the…?" Zoro mumbled, woken up by the noise, only to be hit with a pot right in the face. And of course he thought it was Sanji who threw it, glaring at the cook right away, taking out his swords to cut him. "You bastard…"
While those two exchanged blows for some unknown reason, another pot tried to hit Ace, ending up hitting the wall, and then Zoro. "What is going on?" Nami yelled confused, her hands protecting her face as she tried to run out of the kitchen, followed by Usopp and Chopper.
You can guess how the kitchen was… everything was a mess. Luffy eating the piece of meat still sleeping, Zoro and Sanji fighting, Reina trying to catch Ace, pots trying to hit Ace too… And then, for some reason, the silverware then joined the pots, creating a beautiful mess….
"You can´t catch me…" Ace sung, running out of the kitchen, not wanting to create more trouble. By the looks of it, the now messy haired Reina was about to explode, her cheeks red as a tomato. And if that happened, he sure didn't want to be around her more than ten meters…
"You stupid idiot…" Reina hissed, who knows how, exiting enraged the kitchen, the pots following her. For a moment there, she completely forgot about the fact no one, aside from Luffy and Ace, knew she could use magic. Her mind was too full of rage to remember it. And now, what she wanted to do was throw Ace into water, and watch slowly as he almost drowned… Of course, she would never allow him to drown, but maybe that would teach him not to mess with her.
Seeing how mad Reina was, Ace had to admit annoying her in a ship, surrounded by water with no way to run away, was maybe not the best idea he had so far…. No actually, it was a horrible idea. "Better remember not to do that again…"
"Ace…" Reina sung, approaching him with a creepy smile that send the dark haired man shivers. Yes, that really wasn´t his brightest idea… However, before she managed to catch him, Ace jumped out of her way. The girl approached the end of the ship, her eyes alert on her target, when something unpredictable happened.
From behind, a pair of while hands pushed her forwards, making her fall towards the dark water bellow which hit the ship from time to time. The girl didn't even have time to scream, or understand what just happened, when her body hit the cold icy water. The cold freezing water.
She was melting, disappearing into the cold current becoming one with its small particles. And she didn´t mind. It felt normal, natural… she was one with the water, just one more part of it. And as every particle, she would return one day to the big ocean. For her, that day had arrived.
Green eyes closed as Reina allowed her mind to fade, accepting the fact that her lower limbs were no longer real, but just one more part of the huge ocean. Bit by bit, the cold water became normal. Bit by bit, her consciousness faded into nothing, returning to somewhere she didn´t know where. She wanted to sleep, to rest forever, drifting towards nothing along with the water.
"REINA!" Someone yelled, his voice far, far away… or was it theirs? But the green eyes opened slightly at that sound, staring at something way above, above the water. Luffy and Ace stared at her worried, panicking, and something caught her disappearing hand all of sudden. "Reina!" They called again. And the teen woke up from her rave.
"What am I doing?!" That thought woke her up as she reunited enough concentration on making her limbs real again when a rubber hand pulled her out of the water. To think she would lose it just because she touched water… Who would have thought?
Coughing a little bit, already warped in a warm blanket on top of the deck that came from nowhere, Reina wanted to sigh. Just a little bit more and her brothers would have found out she had eaten the… Nope, it was better not to even think about it. "I am so sorry!"
Looking up, she smiled a little confused as Nami apologized, her face pale all of sudden. "I didn´t want you to drown… It´s just that Usopp told me some things about you and I became worried you were lying and… and…" Giggling at the worried girl, Reina sighed.
"I should apologize too…" she mumbled taking the tea Sanji had given her, his fight with Zoro already over. "Maybe I should have been honest with you from the beginning…" As everyone, aside from Luffy and Ace who were more worried about her current condition; looked at each other, Reina decided here was no need to hide it anymore. "The truth is… I can use magic."
….
Silence. It was all she heard, as everyone looked at her, wondering when would she start laughing and tell them it was a joke. It should be soon… soon… soon… However, as those words never came, Luffy´s crew kind of yelled at the same time. "WHAT?"
Honestly, they had yelled so loud Reina had been forced to close her ears, fearing she would lose them soon. And when she said soon, it meant right then. "What? How? You mean Devil Fruit, right?" Nami was the first one to recover from the shock… Or maybe she just was in denial. After a while, it was hard to tell.
"Nope." Reina stated, smiling slightly as Sanji and Usopp´s jaw dropped. "I can use real magic, water doesn´t affect me, and I came from another world who knows how when I was a child." Yup, she lost it. Being forced to live so long with Luffy and his brothers, she lost all sense of reason she still had. Or at least that what Nami thought.
"But… magic… How…?" So many questions ran through her head, and everyone´s else, that Reina just couldn´t help but laugh at their faces and worries. "Don´t you dare laughing." Suddenly angry, Nami wanted to hit someone. And for some reason, her target where those three with black hair who apparently were siblings… not by blood, but siblings.
"Sorry, sorry." Now trying her hardest not to laugh, Reina sighed and stood up. Yup, that night would be long…
As the sparkling yellow desert rose behind them, and in front of them, the Straw Hat pirates, with three more strangers added; made their way through it bellow the burning sun. Only some hours ago they had left the city, and already they wanted to give up and hide somewhere. The heat was too much, unbearable. And one certain member was having much more trouble with it than everyone else.
"Don´t lose it, don´t lose it…" Reina mumbled to herself, making sure her skin was hidden from everyone else. After all, if her skin started to evaporate, everyone would ask her unnecessary questions. No, she couldn´t allow that. All she needed was to calm down and pay attention. Soon, they would stop in a town as Vivi said, and then she would rest for a while.
Aside from her, there were other people worrying. However, they had other matters to think about it. It had been a huge shock when the dark hared girl had told them she was actually a real mage and could use magic, not being affected neither by the water nor the stones. And the fact she could use magic without having eaten a devil fruit worried everyone.
"Well, that explains how the knives seemed to follow her." Zoro had stated at some point, losing all interest in the situation right away. Who cared if she used magic or not? After all, they already had a crazy rubber man as a Capitan… one strange person wouldn´t change a thing.
However, someone people weren´t as optimistic. For example, Usopp started to ask her about those books he had seen appear in her room, only to be ignored. Then, he tried to find out why she shot a fireball against him… only to find out that her powers were mainly unstable, as she hadn´t the proper training to control them.
"Great, just great!" Usopp thought as they walked through the sand, his face unhappier than usual. An unstable magician was exactly what they needed at that point… What if something went wrong? Allowing Reina to travel with them in such condition was dangerous, more than dangerous.
As everyone, including Luffy and Ace; sighed loudly at the same time, the group couldn´t help but laugh right after it. The timing was creepy and funny. Shaking her head, Reina smiled a little bit, looking up. They were almost at the town. Now, all that was left to do was go through those doors, and then she could relax for a bit.
However, when she saw who exactly was waiting for them at the entrance… she just cursed her luck.
A/N: Thanks for everyone who reviewed this! I will try to keep it updated, but I am stupid (as well as my imagination), and I like mystery a little bit too much...However, I will not neglect this fanfic any longer. XD Apparently, I will update twice a month, since this way it is more easy for me... Sorry XD Oh, and yes, I did not reach my goal... -.-
I read all your reviews, and if it wasn´t for the fact I have another test tomorrow, I would have answered them all. Maybe I should PM people when they comment... Hmm... I´ll think about it. :) Just some quick answer for anyone who is curious:
-Yes, Reina will contact Hogwarts pretty soon
-She can fight, but has some problems with her temper when it comes to that... what will lead to other problems, as you will see next week XD
-Most of them hadn´t accepted Reina´s explanation yet, so don´t panic if you see them acting mean to her... XD
