CHAPTER Five

Today is the day they will be having the practice match with Kaijou. Kagami sighed as he tried to keep his eyes open while walking to school.

Ah ah… Why must the practice match be after school? Why must they still attend lesson.

The red head sighed as he yawned loudly making his way to the classroom.

He was not late. Neither was he early.

It was mainly because he was too excited for the match that he cannot sleep the WHOLE night thus thought might as well wake up earlier than usual.

He took a seat and was on the verge of nodding off.

"Good morning, Kagami kun." He heard his name as he slowly turned back.

"Ah. Kuroko…" He greeted tiredly.

"Kagami kun, your eyes seem even worse than usual." He said bluntly.

"I was too much fired up for today's match so I couldn't sleep."

"Are you supposed to be a grade schooler before a field trip?" Kuroko tease slightly with that usual blank face of his.

"Argh…"

"Anyway, you are having a match today? Good luck, Kagami kun."

"Thank you… By the way, Kuroko. Do you want to come along?"

"Come? To your match?"

"Yeah. You are free today right?" The redhead's tired face instantly changed to a grin.

But.

"I don't think I can make-" Kuroko was about the reject but after seeing Kagami's disappointed look, the bluenette instantly shook his head, "I am free, where will it be located?"

"Yes! With you around, I will definitely win this match! It's at Seirin gym." (I am changing the practice match to be at Seirin instead of Kaijou.)

"Okay, but I will be slightly late. I need to return the book to the library first and I need to hand something to the teacher." Kagami nodded.

Kuroko's POV

The bluenette passed the thick form to the homeroom teacher.

"Ah. Thank you for coming here, Kuroko kun." The teacher collects the form and tapped the paper a few times on the table, "So how is your experience here in Seirin? Do you like your new class?"

"Yes. I made a few friends there."

"That's good to hear." The teacher gave a gentle smile before staple the form together.

She gave a final run through and nodded, "Okay. You can go now."

"Enjoy your day." She smiled and waved as Kuroko nodded and wheeled himself out.

Kuroko looked at his watch, 3.30pm, the match starts at 3.00pm. He looked at the gym direction as he proceeds to that way.

He sighed as the door to the gym was left opened. And might I add, there are TONS of people, more specifically girls.

"Kya! Kise kun!", "I am so glad Kise kun came to our school!", "Go Kise kun!"

Kuroko looked at them with his eyebrows raised. Kise? Now that he remembered, didn't he said he have a match today? So he played basketball too… But Kise was from another school isn't it? And this fangirls, from Seirin, are cheering for other school?!

Kuroko sighed as he wheeled himself to an empty spot near the entrance, in front of the audience.

"End of second quarter! Entering 10 minutes halftime." (I have totally no ideas about the time. So… did my research and still found none. All I know is how long a quarter last but not the timeout, the breaks etc etc.)

Kagami sweated slightly, He smile slightly, it was tough. Up to now, Seirin was behind Kaijou by a few points. The redhead looked around at the audience seats; there are really a lot of girls. For the first time, he sees a normal high school, practice match with full of people. He glanced and finally saw someone he wants to see. His grin grew wider as he quickly asked the coach whether he can be excused for a while, promising to come back as quick as possible.

On the Kaijou bench, the players were getting a small lecture and a decent plan by the coach while Kise's eyes wondered as he spotted Kagami walking away from the bench.

"Oi! Are you listening, Kise?" Kasamatsu practically growled, "I will kick you!"

"I am listening. I am listening ssu!" Kise placed his hands up in a defensive manner as he continues to look at Kagami from the corner of his eyes.

"Where is Kagami going?" Hyuuga asked as he gulped his water down.

"Saa. Somewhere. Anyway, without Kagami here, we should still start our plan, someone convey this to Kagami later!"Riko yelled receiving a 'OH!' from the rest.

"Yo. So er… I see that you came." Kagami raised his left hand in a 'hello' manner as he grinned. Kagami mentally fired himself up. If Kuroko was here, there's no way he's going to lose!

"Yes, I promised you, didn't I? Anyway, do your best." Kuroko said, in fact he was actually shocked that Kagami can spot him among the crowd.

And do you know why? Well if you have a crush on Kuroko, it will be a lot easier to spot him. And sadly, Kagami did not know that. Oh rather, did not want to admit that.

And to another person who have a crush on Kuroko.

Kise's eyes widened as he shouted, scaring his teammates and the audience, "Kurokocchi!"

The blonde shouted as he run towards Kagami and Kuroko.

"Eh? Kise! What are you doing?" Kasamatsu shouted at the already gone Kise.

Kagami turned around and saw the dashing blonde (note the pun? Okay, I failed. xD ) as his eyes went wide.

"Wha-?" He said.

"Kurokocchi!" Kise stopped in front of them as he shouted, "You did come to my match afterall!"

"Kurokocchi? Kurokocchi… Kuroko… Kuroko?!" Kagami exclaimed, finally get the revelations, "Oi, Kuroko. You know him? I didn't know about that."

"Ah… Kise san? No, I don't know him. I just saw him yesterday. And Kise san, I did not come for your match. I am here to support Kagami kun and coincidentally you are here."

"That's mean, Kurokocchi!" He cried waterfall. Except that those tears, half of it are genuine.

Really glad… Really glad that Kurokocchi was alive. Really glad that what happened yesterday was not a dream…

"Kise! How do you know Kuroko? And what's with the –cchi?"Kagami growled.

"I add a –cchi to people I respect! And Kurokocchi was my middle school friend. We were teammates!"

"Teammates? Of?" Kagami questioned further.

"What else? Basketball!" Kise said excitedly.

"WHAT? Kuroko! You. You played basketball? And wait if you two were teammates…"

"Yep, Kurokocchi and I are part of the Kiseki no Sedai!"

To Seirin's bench.

"Anyway, our plan is that-"Riko was going to start her plan.

"What's with the commotion?" Izuki wondered as his eyes moved to the particular spot in front of the crowd.

All eyes were glued to the spot, as if something interesting happened.

"Kagami?" Tsuchida questioned, "And Kise? What are they doing?"

At the 'interesting' spot, Kagami and Kise were seen to be talking to each other, no, talking to someone?

"Who's that? He's wearing our school uniform. Ah! So Kagami want to find him? And then why was Kise there?" Hyuuga asked in confusion.

Riko looked at them and sighed, it looked like no one was paying attention to her. She turned around to see the person that caught the eyes of Kise and Kagami.

Plus, she cannot start the planning with this loud noise the two idiots were making. (Kise and Kagami were shouting.)

She walked over to the two idiots to warn them.

"Kise kun, Kagami kun. Can you two please keep quiet-" Riko walked over and placed her hands on her hips, with a scowl on her face.

"WHAT? Kuroko! You played basketball! And wait if you two were teammates…"

"Yep, Kurokocchi and I are part of the Kiseki no Sedai!"

It appeared that the two was not listening either.

"Kiseki no Sedai?" Riko tilted her head in confusion, "Kagami kun, what's that about?"

But it's no use, no one was listening. Except for one.

"Kagami kun, Kise san, she's talking to you." Kuroko gently remind them.

Eh? I can't believe I forgot there's someone else other than these two idiots! But wait what? When did he?

Riko stared dumbfounded at this bluenette here as she scanned from head to toe.

Ah. He using a wheel chair? That must means-

"How are you doing, I am Kuroko Tetsuya." Her thoughts are stopped by the gentle voice.

The owner of the voice had his hand readied in a handshake.

Riko quickly shake the hand back, "A-Ah. I am Aida Riko. Hello, Kuroko kun."

"Coach. What are you doing?" Kagami asked.

"Ka-ga-mi kun," She gave a sweet sweet smile, "Please do not ignore somebody when she's talking to you! And keep your voice down! You are distracting everyone else!" She pointed at Seirin's bench and Kaijo's bench.

Not knowing when, both teams have stopped planning and shifted their attention to them.

"S-Sorry!" Kagami exclaimed as he started to sweat hoping there's no punishment.

The brunette just sighed as she looked seriously, "If you don't mind, can you tell me what you were talking about? Something about Kuroko kun being in Kiseki no Sedai or something." (Yes, Riko is much smarter and thus know instantly Kurokocchi refers to Kuroko! HAHAHA)

Kagami looked at Kise, "Yeah, I also want to know the details. What do you mean by Kuroko being in the Kiseki no Sedai. Doesn't the Kiseki no Sedai consists of only 5 people?"

After hearing about the Kiseki no Sedai, Kagami had surprisingly done a research about them.

"No, there's one more, it was just a rumour but there is another person in Kiseki no Sedai, Phantom sixth man!" Riko placed her hand on her chin as she pondered.

Kuroko frowned slightly, Phantom Sixth Man? Wait what? He's part of this Kiseki no Sedai and used to play basketball? Now it all makes sense, why he thought the name Kiseki no Sedai was so familiar. But why is it that even though Kuroko and Kiseki no Sedai seemed to be ex teammates or friends but he doesn't felt familiar or friendly when he heard the name. Why does he felt hatred towards basketball?

"I… don't get it." Kuroko whispered loud enough for the three to hear.

"Don't get what?" Riko looked dumfounded.

"Coach, Kuroko have memory loss." Kagami whispered to Riko as she quickly placed her hand over her mouth.

"Oh! I didn't know that. Sorry, Kuroko kun." She gasped.

"Kurokocchi… You don't remember? I thought you were just pretending but you really don't remember? About what happened? About our days in Teiko?" Kise exclaimed sadly.

"No. I'm sorry, Kise san." Kuroko bowed slightly.

"What? Wait, Kuroko! Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault that you don't remember this idiot!" Kagami retorted pointing to the blonde behind him.

"Wah! What do you mean idiot, you Bakagami!" Kise argued back then turned back to Kuroko, "But yeah, Kurokocchi is not wrong. You don't need to apologise. If there's anything… we should be the one apologising." He whispered the last part.

"Ahem," Riko coughed slightly, "Anyways, Kuroko kun." She gave a slight smile.

Kuroko looked towards her warily as Kise and Kagami just wondered what is it.

"Do you want to join basketball club as a manager?"

Kise just paused then suddenly smile brightly clapping his hands together, "Yeah! That's right! You should do that! Come to Kaijou with me! You can be a manager there! Honestly, I respect you a lot, Kurokocchi!"

"Oi! What are you talking about, Kise! If Kuroko is to go somewhere, of course that will be Seirn!" Kagami argued.

"But I know more about Kurokocchi and also longer! That's why Kurokocchi should be with me!" Kise scolded back.

Beep.

"Starting third quarter!"

Kagami just glared at Kise who did the same back as they returned to the court.

"See you late, Kuroko." Kagami waved.

"See ya, Kurokocchi!"

Riko sighed as she turned to Kuroko, "Anyway Kuroko kun. Please consider and tell me your decision."

The bluenette nodded slowly as the girl walked back to the bench.

Kuroko continue to watch the match.
