"Speaking"

Ed knew that Rayna had her reasons for not saying anything about her illness, so he decided not to ask her about it.

"I'll just do some shopping in the morning." He said, but before going to bed he told his brother everything. Al was surprised that Rayna would keep something like that to herself. "She probably didn't want us hovering and worrying over her." Ed said, "women who are independent aren't always open to the idea of someone helping out and taking care of them. "

"Are you going to tell her that we know?" Al asked.
"Something tells me that she'll know the moment that we see her." Ed chuckled rolling over so that he was lying on his side.

Al caught the dream like sigh his brother let out, and decided to ask Rayna about something else he had a problem understanding about love. These books are confusing when it comes to explaining emotions, though Ed is acting kind of like the guy in this story. Al thought to himself.

Rayna noticed the change in the atmosphere while they were having breakfast; and she immediately put things together and gave them a look.

"Your father says to be safe and call him if you need anything." Ed told her with a sheepish grin and went back to eating his food.

"Rayna would you mind explaining something to me later?" Al asked.
"Sure we can talk while we wait for the train." She said sipping her tea.

Ed wondered what Al had a question about, but refrained from asking. If Al wants my help with his research he'll ask. He thought to himself.

Rayna hadn't eaten as much as she normally did at breakfast and both boys bit their tongues against saying anything about it. The group of three remained silent until they got to the train platform and Al showed Rayna a highlighted section in the book he was reading.

"Okay, what's your question?" She asked after reading it.
"I don't understand the emotions...the writer used way to many metaphors." Al answered.

"Oh...well have you ever felt as though as though some unknown force has taken control over your life away from you?" She asked.

Al nodded in reply.

"Well, she feels as though fate has cursed her to love the man who's done nothing but fill her life with pain." Rayna finished.

"So she wants to hate him, but something is making her love him?" Al asked.

Rayna nodded and gave him back his book.

Ed wondered what Al and Rayna had been talking about, but his focus shifted to why she had glanced at him, looked away, and then a conflicted look took over her beautiful face.

"Are you okay?" Ed asked and Rayna looked as though he'd startled her.
"What?" She asked her face returning to being normal and adorable.
"You looked conflicted just now, and I was wondering what was bothering you?" Ed explained.

Rayna suddenly got all cute and nervous.

"Oh nothing!" She stammered, "just an annoying thought that I couldn't quite grasp."

Sounds like more than that... He thought to himself, "do you have all the information you needed and a price in mind?" He asked.

At the mention of her price, her eyes widened and her face turned a deep shade of red.

This is going to be a very interesting train ride. He thought to himself.

AN: I know this chapter isn't very long, but these things always seem longer on paper lol. I hope you all enjoy.

The next chap. isn't too much longer but Ed and Rayna finally shift their relationship to something more fluffy and intimate.
