To say that Al was an understatement; Ed was watching Rayna with the same intensity that he normally reserved for when he was doing research. Meanwhile, Rayna would get lost in thought a lot, blush an incredibly deep shade of red at random times….or whenever she looked at Edward, and she would play with the ends of her hair and look down whenever speaking with the oldest Elric brother.

This has been going on for two days now. The youngest of the two siblings thought to himself.

Al recognized the way that Rayna was behaving as being nearly identical to that of the women in the books he'd purchased did when nervous.

But why is she nervous about Ed? He asked himself. And why is Ed so focused on her? Al conceded to the fact that he would need an outside opinion to confirm his theories.

"I need to get myself together!" Rayna groaned when she was finally alone in her room at the hotel they were spending the next few days in; "I knew what I would be getting myself into " She continued with her pep talk. "Granted, I was banking on Ed remaining passive, but I am a strong, smart, independent woman. I can't allow a single kiss to overload my mind and emotions."

A knock at the door interrupted her speech, but she was in 'control' now.

"Ed?" She was surprised to see him there, "what brings you here?"

Ed however, didn't reply which was really confusing to the girl who was currently fighting not to blush at the intensity in his stare.

The look in his eyes is so intense.She thought to herself.

Ed entered the room closing and locking the door behind him.

"Is something the matter?" She asked mentally cursing when her voice cracked.

Still no response from the blonde.

"Ed ar-….."

Rayna was cut off when he suddenly grabbed her and pulled her into a passionate kiss.

Rayna jolted awake startling Edward, who had been sleeping against the same tree.

"You okay?" Al asked them, as his brother was still a bit groggy and trying to remember where he was.

"I was only dreaming." Rayna sighed trying to calm herself.

"What about?" The blonde Elric inquired tossing some more wood into the fire.

"Nothing of consequence." She answered vaguely.

Ed pretended not to notice the way she blushed and looked away. She's been doing that for quite awhile now. He thought as he settled back down to get more sleep. "Let me know if you want to talk about it. It or anything…..things that we need to discuss, but have yet to do so."

"I'll keep it in mind." She answered closing her eyes.

Al watched the interaction knowing that if he could make facial expressions that the confusion he felt in that moment would be more than obvious.

Rayna knew that Ed had been serious about talking about the kiss they had shared on the train.

But how am I supposed to explain my actions if I'm not entirely sure of the reasons behind them? She asked herself.

She sighed not noticing that both boy's attention on her as they continued their travels through the woods.

Perhaps I should take this time to reflect on the moments that led up to the kiss. Her thoughts continued uninterrupted.

Ed watched Rayna closely as they walked. They still had two more nights of camping ahead of them if they kept traveling at the pace they were.

She's been so quiet…. He thought, but he didn't need to be the progeny that he was to figure out that her thoughts were also stuck on that kiss. I don't know why she kissed me, but I know that I kissed her because of my attraction to her. Ed also wound up sighing.

It was getting dark and neither Ed nor Rayna seemed to notice. Al was luckily paying attention to their surroundings and on his two companions so that they didn't end up separated, or off track.

"Uhmmm, Ed don't you think that we should stop to set up camp now?" He asked.

Ed suddenly snapped out of his thoughts and looked around. He could see the lights and the outlines of the buildings from the city in the distance, Rayna looked to be pretty much dead on her feet. "Yeah, we made it much farther than I had intended."

"I'll set up camp." Al volunteered. " You guys go and get some fire wood."

The two confused teens walked in silence for a little while until they came across some dry brush.

"We can talk tomorrow night once we've checked into a hotel." He told her.

"Rayna nodded and picked up some dry branches. "I've been thinking about it a lot." She admitted.

"Same here." Ed replied.

"Then why not talk now, and get it over with?" She asked even though she really didn't want to.

"Are you sure?" Ed sounded surprised.

Rayna just nodded not trusting herself to open her mouth at that moment.

"Okay…." Ed nodded.

Everything grew silent again. Neither of them knew what to say, or wanted to be the first on to speak. Both had so many questions to ask, but both of them were to afraid to break the silence.

"Why did you kiss me?" Ed suddenly blurted.

Rayna took a deep breath trying to calm her nerves. "Well, to be honest I've found myself attracted to you."

Ed nodded that he understood. "Glad I'm not the only one who's hormones have been going crazy lately." He grinned scratching the back of his head.

"I guess that answers why you kissed me back." She giggled still a bit nervous. "I actually wouldn't mind if it happened again." She added quietly after a less awkward silence had fallen over them.

Ed smirked cockily his nervousness nearly leaving completely at her softly spoken words. He moved to stand in front of her reaching out a gloved hand to cup her cheek. " I think then that it's only fair if I was the one to initiate things this time."

"It would be the right thing to do." She whispered their lips brushing against each other as they spoke.

AN:Here we go an update for another crowd favorite. I think their relationship is progressing quite nicely for two romantically confused teens like Ed and Rayna.
