Aichi x Misaki FanFiction
Well this has been a long time. Going to have to apologise for the long, long, long wait on this chapter, a lot has happened in the past 3 months including the end of college for the year which most of you can relate to or even just imagine the work load and also as of quite recent I've been away and switched jobs meaning I've been working a fair bit. However I am back and I just want to say to everyone who writes reviews asking for the next chapter and how long it will be and if this will continue; soon. I am never going to give up on these as I have some much planned already for future chapters and just leaves me with the starting chapters which are much harder to write. I also find great enjoyment and relaxation in writing this not to mention it is the one couple I ship so hard in the Anime :D
Chapter 8
Aichi's POV
The air seemed to have increasingly grown intense since Kourin had walked out to the front of the store. It wasn't until Kourin had mentioned about playing with me in the Tag Tournament when the flow of air seemed to stop around us. Misaki clearly had the no intention to play with anyone other than me in the tournament judging by the bright red face she had just shown. Kourin seemed to notice this and slightly turned to Misaki to speak to her.
"You really dint think he would play with anyone else other than me, did you?" said Kourin, almost with some disgust at Misaki as if she had just insulted her. "Everyone knows that me and Aichi started the Cardfight Club and would only make sense that he would want to team up with me."
"Is that so?" That doesn't explain why we have both been to the mall together and entered your shop together though does it?" replied Misaki, taking a step closer to me after she had spoken.
"Hey guys chill! We don't want any arguing in the shop now do we? I'm sure there must be a better way to solve this problem?" calmly said Rekka, moving to stand in the way of Misaki and Kourin. "I got it! Why don't you two have a Cardfight to see who plays with Aichi!"
Misaki's POV
Why was it taking so long for them to set up one table for us to play a game? All I have to do is beat Kourin so I can play with Aichi in the tournament. Surely he wants to play with me considering it was his idea to even enter the tournament and come to the mall, not to mention the fact we've been walking around the mall holding hands.
"It's reeeaadddy!" shouted Rekka from the other side of the room. Me and Aichi were sat on the stone steps in the shop by the stage area, waiting for Rekka to finish. As we came nearer to the table I pulled my deck box from my bag went to set down my bag before Aichi grabbed it from me and put it around his shoulder.
"I'll hold this for you Misaki, you can repay me by winning this match" cheekily said Aichi, bringing a smile to my face. I reached forward and gave Aichi a quick hug, which he thankfully returned, his arms quickly wrapping around my waist as they always do. The hug filled me with warmth, now determined not to lose. I turned to face the motion figure system that was in place between me and Kourin, reminding me of my last fight using this table against Rekka.
"I hope you're ready" shouted Kourin, trying to intimidate me.
"There's no way I'm going to lose to you! There's only one person I'm going to play with in this tournament!" The words seem to come out of my mouth without me even realising, the passion inside me burning, urging me on to win to play with Aichi. A part of me also wants to win the game as soon as possible so that me and Aichi can resume spending the day together, its only just reached 1 in the afternoon and me and Aichi had plans to go back to mine tonight. Shin was going out to visit the Team Asteroid HQ and discuss something to do with the shop.
We had both already shuffled our decks and drew our starting hands. We both shouted stand up, Vanguard and took our first few turns. The first few turns were as basic as first turns go and it wasn't until we both had hit grade 3 until things started to heat up. We had both rode into our break rides and the damage was tied at 3-3. I already had a full field of rear guards, a pair of Goddess of Trees, Jupiter in the front row and a witch of frogs Melisa and witch of oranges, Valencia in the back row. Kourin had rode into her new Jewel Knight break ride, it must have just been released in the new booster pack as I was unable to recall its skill.
I had managed to scrape through the turn only taking two damage, leaving me with just three cards in my hand and all of my rear guard circles full apart from one Jupiter. I drew my card for the turn and then turned slightly so that I was eye level with Kourin.
"Goddess who appears in response to the call of the regalia of wisdom! Use your sword of intelligence and foresight to cut through the tangled skein of fate! Cross-Break Ride! Regalia of Wisdom and Courage, Brunhild!" I shouted, slamming Brunhild down on top of Angelica. Kourin's face had intensified, realising at what was about to happen.
"With the break ride skill I soul blast 3 cards and draw two and then with my Vanguards Ultimate Break, I counterblast four cards from the damage and soul blast 6 to retire your front row rear guards and grade 1 behind the vanguard. And that's not all, for each rear guard retired from this skill I get to draw one card!". From both the break ride and vanguards skill, I had managed to muster up a hand of 4 cards after filling the empty rear guard circle and also get rid of 3 of Kourin's rear guards.
"Is that all you got Missy?" smirked Kourin from across the motion figure system.
"Oh yeah just watch!" The anger had overtaken me and words were seamlessly coming out of my mouth. "With a boost, my Vanguard attacks!"
"I have no reason to guard that" slyly said Kourin, still sitting on 3 damage. The one card that I needed right now was a critical trigger. "Checking the twin drive!" The first card was Minerva, which might be useful next turn but isn't what I'm looking for right now. The second check revealed a cyber Tiger! A critical trigger! "I give the critical effect to my vanguard, and the power boost to Jupiter!" Neither of Kourin's damage checks revealed a damage trigger, the match seemingly leaning towards my side. Somehow Kourin was able to also fend off against both my rear guard attacks and make it to her turn.
"You're not the only one with a break ride in this game." said Kourin now on the offensive. Shining Eternal! The purest light to stand the great test of time. Send me guidance! Cross-Break Ride! Salvation of Hope, Jewel Knight Jasper! For the cost of a counterblast with the break ride skill I can search my deck for up to Jewel Knights with different names and superior call them!"
"what?!" I exclaimed, Kourin had almost replaced all the units I had retired the previous turn!
"And that's not all, using my vanguards limit break, I can counter blast 1 Jewel Knight to superior call one Jewel Knight from the top of my deck and until end of turn it gains 3000 power and plus one critical!" confidently said Kourin, now gaining the upper hand in the fight. Thanks to her break ride and limit break she has managed to replace her empty columns and regain her hand size.
"First to attack is my vanguard!" Her drive checks revealed both a draw trigger and a grade 2 once again increasing which was now six cards in total to my now also five card hand after using a perfect guard to block the attack. Both of her rear guard attacks cost me another 2 cards each to guard, leaving me with just the one card in my hand, the one card that I will seal me my victory.
"I'm not quite what you expected am I Missy?" laughed Kourin, realising her position in this game.
"It's not over yet! Gentle light that breaks through the darkness, I ride, Omniscience Regalia, Minerva!" This was my last chance to win, with one card in my hand it was just enough to finish the job. "Boosted by my Battle maiden, Minerva attacks your vanguard!"
"I'll nullify that one!" shouted Kourin, using two of the six cards in her hand to block the attack. Both drive checks revealed nothing, but even so, my limit break should finish the job.
"Now Minerva's real skill comes into play! Limit Break!" By counter blasting one, soul blasting 3 and discarding 3 Genesis from my hand, Minerva re-stands and gains 5000 power!"
"Impossible!"
"Uh uh, this is the true power of the Genesis clan. Once again Minerva attacks your vanguard!" Once again both drive checks revealed nothing but at this point it didn't matter as this attack would deal the sixth damage, winning me the game.
Aichi's POV
Misaki had played really well all game, she was now about to deal the final attack to Kourin to win the game.
"I check for a damage trigger! A heal Trigger! Ha! You thought you had me beat! I give the power to my vanguard, and heal one point of damage.
"No, you can't!" shouted Misaki, now left with only two rear guard attacks only hitting for 5000 power worth of shield.
"This is my Final Turn, My vanguard attacks!" shouted Kourin, Misaki was only left with two cards in her hand, both of which had only 5000 shield, her only way out a heal trigger.
"Damage trigger check, nothing there." Misaki hung her head and scrambled up her cards.
"I guess that makes me Aichi's partner" I quickly got up and ran over to Misaki, trying to comfort her loss. "You played brilliantly Misaki! The way you used the power of the Genesis clan was amazing!" I said to her. I could see a tear rolling down her cheek. I quickly embraced Misaki which she quickly returned, hugging me tight around the neck, quietly crying into my chest.
"I'm s-sorry Aichi, I thought I could win" softly said Misaki looking directly into my eyes.
"It doesn't matter Misaki, we can win tomorrow in the tournament!" I said, hoping to stop her crying.
"Your still going to play with me?"
"Of course I am, there's nobody else in the world I'd rather play with!" I said, wiping away a tear from her cheek. Misaki now grabbed me round the neck and hugged me even tighter. Not showing any signs of letting go. When Misaki had finally found herself again she picked up her bag and walked to the exit.
"I think it's time we get something to eat Aichi" said Misaki, once again smiling.
"U-ugh yeah you're right" I replied, bending down to pick up the rest of the bags.
"So I guess you and Misaki are a team for tomorrow then?" coolly said Rekka, now stood on her own, Kourin no longer to be seen.
"Yeah, always" I replied, turning round to leave with Misaki, who held my hand as we left the shop.
P.S Once again I'm terribly sorry for the LONG wait, will start writing the next chapter over this weekend, I've got so much planned ahead. I hope this chapter was worth the wait and remember to follow and fave for alerts on the next chapter and to leave reviews to help me write the next one. Cheers :)
